My massage therapist (Chris) was away on vacation and I had severe pain. I decided to shop around for a therapist locally. I Googled massage therapist in 15136. I found Serene Therapy, I looked at the building and the location and decided to call for an appointment. They were able to take me in that day. The building was very nice and looked reputable. I have driven past it many times over the years. When I arrived I was met by the therapist who gave me the massage. She asked me to pay upfront. Then took me back to the room. She had broken English and was hard to understand. The doors to the rooms had sheets hanging from them. They don't close the doors. She and I were the only 2 people in the business. Once she started the massage she was trying to tell me to take off my underwear. She said, "coo, Koo, Koo." Then she literally pulled off my underwear. I said "no'. She then pulled out her phone and spoke into the phone in Chinese and it transliterated it back to me, she said, "You keep off your underwear and next time we will have sex." I was very uncomfortable and I said to her to give me my underwear. I got dressed. She gave me a stamped business card and asked me for a tip, in English. I then left the business. I am 60 years old. I have had hundreds of massages in my lifetime. I have severe arthritis. I am against writing bad reviews but this is an exception. I don't understand how they can be in business. I was scared. People are rude AF and don't respect the therapeutic value that many of these massage parlors provide at a fairly low cost to people who can't afford expensive medical procedures. I highly suggest them. Yes, there is a language barrier but they are very skilled in their trade. You aren't there to chat. They will fix your muscle pain. This is a therapeutic massage parlor - not a westernized one. Don't expect a fuzzy "fru-fru" light massage - they utilize a traditional eastern style technique which isn't everyone's cup of tea. They thoroughly work your body to alleviate serious body pain issues which is exactly why I like it.

The place was clean and well kept. Staff was friendly, but there is a language barrier, so it is very hard to communicate your specific areas you want to have worked on. The massage itself was great, though. I left feeling refreshed and that the knot had finally come out of my shoulder. I called to confirm it was the same as the ones offered in Vegas and it was. Lynn takes care of the massage equipment and her daughter owns the hair salon. They are so nice, explain everything you need to know and offer great deals. I've been twice and will be going back on a regular basis. They have massage chairs while you wait for the Aqua massage to become available and they have a lot of handmade and unique gifts you can buy. The salon is clean, plenty of parking, everyone is friendly and the massage is very rejuvenating. You can adjust the temperature and pressure to meet your needs. You can stop it on problem areas and you're listening to music as you relax. No appointed or undressing required. This is great for couples, mom and daughter day out or solo missions when you need some "me" time. I highly recommend this spa and an aqua massage.
