However, every other full body massage I've had had a point where they turned me over so they could massage my neck, shoulders, and face, plus the front of my thighs and stomach area. They did not do this here, so I would not call this a full body massage. Besides that, the session I booked was a 55-min session. When you're laying on the table, you have no concept of time, so when she told me that our time was running short, I was surprised since she hadn't yet gotten to my legs, feet, or the hot stones that were included in the deal they offered. And that's when she hit me with the "Oh no, an hour went by so quickly. Do you want to extend for another 30 minutes so I can finish the legs, feet, stones, etc" spiel. It is not relaxing to get asked to spend more money whilst in the middle of your massage. After telling her that I had somewhere to be and couldn't stay an extra 30 minutes, she quickly offered just 15 more minutes so she could do my legs, feet, and the stones. She kept insisting it was needed to finish everything and due to the language barrier and my people-pleasing nature, I relented. So I stayed an extra 15 minutes so she could finish the things she couldn't finish in the 55 minutes I'd booked. When leaving, I assumed I'd be charged for the extra 15 minutes but wasn't sure since she didn't say anything about an extra charge when she offered it during my massage. But when checking out, the price was $70 instead of the $55 deal I'd booked. Since she was the only one there and I had somewhere to be, I just quickly paid and left. But I now understand why many of the Google reviews have people saying they extended their massage time - since they are manipulating people into it. Either they cannot manage their time well enough to accomplish the deal they're offering, or they're purposefully going slowly to make you extend your time and pay more. Overall, I'm very disappointed. I was expecting much better based on their reviews and was excited to try a new place for massages. But I do not recommend anyplace that tries to upcharge you for no good reason in the middle of a service. Edit: Had to add to this since they responded to my Google review and also reached out to offer me a full refund and a free 70-minute massage, which I declined. Their response states that they sometimes offer additional time when they have free time. The woman who was massaging me actually left my massage room two separate times randomly when the doorbell went off, then apologized when she came back, saying that she was there by herself after the manager left and she was very busy today. So, now I know they're purposefully being deceitful one way or the other. Completely unprofessional and untrustworthy business.

(which was an interesting challenge because at the time, most of the escalators and elevators in the mall were out of service). There was some degree of a language barrier which made it a little difficult to communicate preferences, but they were able to ask about pressure of the massage and what areas you would like to focus on. If you are looking for a relaxing spa environment, this isn't it. You hear noise from the mall and some chatter from employees. It is also no frills in terms of waiting areas or decor. But if you want a massage without needing to make an appointment weeks in advance, this is a great option.

I found Serene Therapy, I looked at the building and the location and decided to call for an appointment. They were able to take me in that day. The building was very nice and looked reputable. I have driven past it many times over the years. When I arrived I was met by the therapist who gave me the massage. She asked me to pay upfront. Then took me back to the room. She had broken English and was hard to understand. The doors to the rooms had sheets hanging from them. They don't close the doors. She and I were the only 2 people in the business. Once she started the massage she was trying to tell me to take off my underwear. She said, "coo, Koo, Koo." Then she literally pulled off my underwear. I said "no'. She then pulled out her phone and spoke into the phone in Chinese and it transliterated it back to me, she said, "You keep off your underwear and next time we will have sex." I was very uncomfortable and I said to her to give me my underwear. I got dressed. She gave me a stamped business card and asked me for a tip, in English. I then left the business. I am 60 years old. I have had hundreds of massages in my lifetime. I have severe arthritis. I am against writing bad reviews but this is an exception. I don't understand how they can be in business. I was scared.
