Not very friendly, but they had some of the stuff I wanted. The older guy in there was not very nice. It's a big store!

If the guy that rings up at the front occasionally I want to let you know it just takes one person to make a whole group look bad. I've have been coming here for the past 10 years and have spent quite a bit of money here over that time. And yes me and my four year olds fault for accidentally knocking off glass jar drink and breaking it yet no need to yell at my 4 year old and I from the other end of the isle "I know it was you" "you knocked it off". No need to be loud buddy. Then was really nice when my wife (Asian also) pushed up a whole buggy of things she was buying to check out five minutes later how much do we owe you for the drink he broke? All nice and calm oh accidents happen that's ok. My advice, don't be loud and embarrass people it just doesn't look good. This is a little shop that has a variety of asian products. If you plan to get any of the cake slices from the front to the left when you walk in, make sure you eat it the same day. I got a piece and put in my fridge... 2 days later it was covered in mold. read more

I made a large purchase of several grocery items and in the midst i purchased some crackers that I wasnt familiar with. when we got home, we noticed it wasn't good. I called the place and told them about bringing back and they told me it was fine. they started screaming saying I had open the package and for me not to come back there. I didn't understand what they were saying between their language and english. It was embarrassing and unnecessary behavior from there. Personally, I'll never be back. read more

This is a beautiful clean Local Asian market in Kingsport! I was pleasantly surprised by the selection and quality of Asian ingredients and goods here! Tteokboki, kimchi, Chinese spinach, Bok Choi, Napa cabbage, and a beautiful variety of frozen foods. They also have a nice selection of mushrooms from beech, to king oyster, to enoki, to fresh shiitake. I was happy to see the pottery, china and ceramics! What a fabulous place in East Tennessee. Good selection of Asian groceries at okay prices. The fresh fruit and vegetables section could be better.

On a quest to find pickled ginger for our Vegan sushi night after running out of our favorite organic brand from Sprouts we pulled this place up on Yelp as we've seen it and never dropped in. This place had a variety of Asian foods, spices, snacks and more. I was impressed with the selection, though they didn't have organic pickled ginger that was free of coloring or organic ginger root so I could just picked my own ginger they did have a very inexpensive large bag of sushi rice which I grabbed. The staff wear face shields at this time. I can appreciate that as I wear a mask myself and it's a great practice and I wish more people would wear them to protect themselves and others. The store is well set up and laid out, it can get pretty busy as we arrived it was only us (I went in and my husband and children stayed in the car which is our routine these days 1 in only) however by the time I made it to pay the door was opening and closing with plenty of customers heading in. read more

This is one of the largest Asian markets in the tri-cities area, with more selections than others. The only concern with this store is the value of the products; very, very expensive! Would I make this store my go-to for asian ingredients? No, I can go to another asian market for the same product but at a much lower price. read more

If I had remembered to check in here every time I visit, I'd be dukedom for sure!!! I other words, I come here A LOT! Not just for personal, but for business as well. For a little random market in the tri-cities, they are awesome! Selections I would say it's on par with Sunrise out in Knoxville. Of course they don't carry nearly has much products, but based on size and location I think this Asian Market covers LOTS of ground when it comes down to having what you're looking for. I don't need 40 different brands of the same thing. So they get away with offering pretty much whatever you need but with 1-5 brands instead. Prices are decent too. Yes they are a tad bit higher than in bigger cities.. but a 10 or 75 cent increase for convenience is more than worth it. Owners are super sweet. A little bit of a language barrier but compared to when I first met them, their English has improved a lot! And even when they don't understand you, or you don't understand them.. they will try their best to be on the same page. When all else fails then sometimes their son is there and everything becomes clear haha. From Southeast Asian produce and fruits and ready to eat snacks, to fresh seafood and great selection of kitchenware... I am truly happy to have them in the tricities area! Oh!!! And they have been in the process of expanding too! So pretty soon well, they're gonna get 6 stars. Oh nevermind, can't give them 6 stars. Oh well, can't say it didn't cross my mind. Best in the Tri Cities. Good variety of fresh produce, as well as frozen items and pantry. I drove half an hour to get here and although its not as big as other Asian markets I've been to, this is the closest and I'm glad I have a place to go when i need fresh produce I can't get near where i live. They had long beans, kombucha pumpkin, long purple eggplant, Aloha brand can juice and Purple Sweet potato that we call Okinawan sweet potato back in Hawaii, usually grown on Big Island. Tried the Korean frozen veggie dumplings and will buy that again! Everything looked clean, well stocked, not old or expired like some places I've been to. Not friendly but I expect that from most Asian markets I go to, even though I'm Pacific-Asian, oh well. They also have Japanese furikaki, lots of rice brands/types that you can't find in reg stores cause the Asian population is small here read more

We went there and bought 4 bags of mushrooms. When I got home and opened them, all 4 of the mushrooms were moldy. I called and told them about the mushrooms and they would not admit that it was their fault. The only fresh things they have there are the vegetables. Everything else is either expired or has gone bad. The owner had a bad attitude and acted like they were the only place that sold Asian food but there are plenty of other Asian markets in the area. read more

The staff were extremely helpful and very kind. The gentleman who ran the shop walked all over the store with me to help me find everything on my list. I loved it. It was the best grocery experience I've ever had. I asked for help and was given amazing customer care. It used to be that way in business. Sadly those days are dying off but not here. Male authoritative person who answered the phone would not accommodate a question about rice after I said that I would like to ask first before driving 70 miles to visit the store. Terribly clear and unhelpful when he said "you come yourself." I guess the store does not carry the high quality rice which is what I was seeking. It is no wonder brick and mortar retail is dying. Awesome, mind-blowing. What???? Who would ever expect to find the cleanest, most well stocked, and simply most amazing Asian Market I have ever visited, in Kingsport, Tn.? You want it, they have it. Prices are reasonable, but touring the store is the main treat. And it is ramen and pot-sticker heaven. Warning, it is an asian run business, so don't expect to have every one of your questions clearly answered by the staff on hand. Do some prep work and know what you are looking for. Stopped in at Asian Market today and was thoroughly impressed. I'm from Los Angeles where the Chinese markets are easily five times bigger but I didn't find much missing at all at Asian Market. Lychees and boba drinks in rural Tennessee... Wow! A lot to try for those with a craving for ethnic food. Fresh noodles in the refrigerators looked so yummy. Selection of soy sauces, salad dressings, and ramen were spot on. Live fish as well. The customer service was excellent too. read more

I would first add the caveat that this is 5 stars for the Tri-Cities. By big city standards like Atlanta, this would be average, but it is certainly well-stocked for this area. The other Asian market in Johnson City is comparable, but this place is bigger and has a wider variety, including lots of fresh items, including lobster and different species of crabs as well as many more exotic (to the American palate) types of produce. Prices are a bit higher, but again this is a small-volume market. Since my significant other is Chinese, it is incredibly handy having this place just a few minutes down the road. I can't attest to the friendliness of the staff since my partner does all of the talking in Mandarin, but they seem nice enough. read more

Love this place! Their prices beat any grocery store around. They have more of a variety for Asian ingredients and sauces. (The bubble tea is to die for!) If you use soy sauce or rice or egg roll wraps or any thing like that, go purchase it here. Much less expensive. And they have fresh fish, crab, and lobster- all cheaper than local grocery stores! And they have a great variety of products from various Asian countries. It's wonderful getting a small taste here in kingsport. Not to mention most of them are very good. The workers there are great. A very welcome addition to the Tri-Cities. They have an extensive selection of Asian groceries from a wide variety of East Asian and Southeast Asian countries. Their stock is pretty comparable to some of the smaller Asian grocery stores in Atlanta. Their Asian vegetable selection is impressive, and they even have fresh fish. This is the only Asian grocery store in Kingsport that I know of. Their offerings and prices are decent for a small store. However, I'm writing this review due to the surly staff. I've shopped here twice and both times encountered rude staff. Most recently, I walked up to a group of staff members at a counter since the cash register was empty to check out. One staff member glares at me and just points at the register. Another staff member rolls her eyes because her cell phone conversation is being interrupted. She continues to speak on her cell phone while checking me out andthrows my change at me. I'm not expecting 5-star service. I am not a Southerner either, so I am not expecting Southern hospitality.
