Besides Mercadona, Aldi was always a good option on our Spain/Portugal Road Trip. And so was this…read moreone. Mercadona was too far from our vacation home, so Aldi it was. Plenty of parking outside, some even covered and easy to get in and out. It's a pretty good sized Aldi with everything you'd expect it to have. Stocked up nicely on groceries, water, soda, milk, beer and some wine. Also some nice selection of spanish ham and cheese for fair prices. When choosing Aldi you know what to expect and this one here is a fine option.

Did I mention the meat section? This place is a carnivores delight with a cured meat selection that took me two photos to capture and post on Yelp. The most incongruous site for me was the amount of Jamón ibérico hanging from a coat rack contraption. It kind of looks like some crazy Halloween costume. Anyway, just in case you need some it's available here. The people that work here are super friendly and very helpful. The produce guy recommended a few local items and weighed them for my wife...yeah he was FRIENDLY, in that Spanish machismo kind of way. I recommend you attempt a bit of Spanish and you'll win them over. The store is very hard to find even though it's on a main street in central Fuengirola. The GPS, with a charming British accent, had no clue how to get us there. There are few windows facing the main road and where there should be windows there is a grey marble wall. Be patient with all the roundabouts and pedestrians in this part of town and go slow. Parking is on the street but there is a secret parking lot supposedly that is free if you spend at least 6€ at the store. Prices are fair to cheap for the quality you get. We were able to find some delicious produce and we did buy plenty of cured meats. Great experience at the Supercor.

It's all standing space and the guy at the counter won't pay any attention to you unless you shout "perdon" and have your order ready. the seafood was so fresh. in the case of the gooseneck clams, they tasted a little too fresh and from the ocean (if u know what i mean). the grilled razor clams and grilled padron peppers were phenomenal. the bread and herb aoli was a surprising smash hit, only 1€ and a meal in and of itself. the paella was delicious as well, replete with a variety of different seafoods (including the plumpest of mussels) but it was too salty to enjoy without a beer and ranks second in terms of seafood flavor to the paella from bar santa cruz in se. i did avail myself with glee to the large juicy slice of lemon that came with every plate though.

Open 6 days a week from 8am to 2pm or 3pm or when they sell out. Closed Sundays. The fish market is also closed on Mondays. Service - Good, busy. Both locals and tourists here. OK it was…read moreMonday so most of the stalls were closed since many sold fish and they don't fish on Sundays but even then there were less than a dozen others that were open for business and no customers were present at nine in the morning. We also learned that the big flea market which includes vendors selling produce happens on Monday's east of old town so maybe this explains how dead this place was... So much so that very little English is spoken in the market. However, a friendly smile, lots of gesturing and odd commonly understood word went a long way! It's a mixed market selling things like kitchen knives but mainly concentrating on food. Perhaps unsurprisingly for a seaside town, my favourite stalls were the seafood stalls piled high with giant clams and fresh tuna There were also meat stalls and colourful vegetable stalls as well as purveyors of spice and cheese I left with some local payoyo cheese to take home from Marbella as a yummy reminder of my holiday
