I'm being generous with three stars. Whoever is their dishwasher person, should be fired. They gave us dishes that were still dripping with some yellow liquid. The spoons had crusted food on it still.. I'm only giving them the extra stars for the wontons and gyoza. The fried rice was not even mixed properly. There was so much white rice and just blobs of sauce and a random burnt piece. It's also so so quiet... Maybe they need some music. You could literally hear footsteps around the corner. read more

Service was very slow and the food was horrible. Maybe one shrimp in my shrimp fried rice. It was cut so tiny it was way overcooked. Chicken in the chicken and noodles was tough and almost nonexistent. Stay away, which I think people are because there was only four people in the entire restaurant at 6 on a Saturday night. read more

I would definitely come back for the food! The pan fried dumplings were big and juicy, a deal at $5.99. The Sour and Spicy Soup noodles uses potato noodle, but not the typical Hot and Sour soups most are used to... The Korean style stir fried rice cake wasn't too spicy and didn't use a strong Kimchi so it was a good choice for those who like spicy but not want too much kimchi. This restaurant is fantastic. Food is promptly served, authentic, and delicious. The variety is superb and every dish is spectacular. Love the chinese food here more than in Vancouver. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. We are visiting here from Vancouver so our standards for food are high. Of all the restaurants we visited in our four days, this was the best one. We even returned here for lunch on our last day. The owner was kind and greeted the regulars by name. This was the first restaurant where I've seen people walk jn and order "the usual". read more

Passed by St John on a road trip, and was trying to find a good place for the first sit down meal in two day. This place lived up to the expectations, very authentic Chinese food with great services. Not sure when I will be back in St John again but would definitely be back for more. read more

If you are coming here for ambiance forget it...Come for the food..This place is located in the Chinese cultural Center and it's a few tables plainly adorned but there is pictures on the wall of the food they prepare here. Again remember there is no ambiance so no music and you can hear the other tables eating and smacking their lips (especially with noodle and soup, hahaha!) but don't let this deter you. The food is really good, pretty authentic for Saint john and the prices and portions are very reasonable. They do regional Chinese, I can't remember exactly where but it is Szechuan in similarity. they also do Korean, which I have not tried yet. The owner/host/waitress is very friendly and will do her best to explain the dishes and you can get them as hot as you can handle. The food is very tasty, redolent in garlic and black beans and hot peppers(they use a lot of fresh jalapeno peppers), interesting combinations such as hot pepper,egg and pork..Oh and pork and chicken seem to be the main proteins on the menu.The kung-pao chicken is the best around They have some very interesting vegetarian options as well. all meals come with house made kimchee and a diakon radish spicy pickle . We were killing some time before our flight back to Toronto and decided to grab a quick bite. Read a couple of good reviews on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Visit didn't start off so good. We wandered in and saw two large parties dining but no one else. We sat down at a table and were almost ready to leave when our waitress showed up. We only ordered two dishes for the three of us as we didn't want to get too filled up before a two flight. We ordered the Korean Shrimp fried rice and Beef with Vegetable, which turned out to be served hot and sizzling. Both dishes were excellent. The fired rice was very tasty with lots of shrimp. The beef was hot and the onions and peppers were just right, not over cooked. I know its tough to judge after trying 2 dishes, but based what we had its very promising. I truly wish this restaurant was in Toronto so we could give it a run for the money. I would encourage locals to at least give this place a try. read more
