My children pets & I had experience great heat for two months prior, as Absolute Hvac Guys LLC continually did not show up for their scheduled appointments and kept prolonging things claiming they had to order a part they don't carry... No show, no call or text - no consideration of one's time when they said they would be here to complete the work. I was especially worried about my birds who could have died. The other company is who installed the system only one year ago and it waa under warranty. The tech from Johnson & Johnson said the company should have made it a priority especially if they had installed it, and if their company had installed it and it had any issues arise, they would have fixed it immediately. I felt validated and he eased my fusteration. I saw another review on Yelp with a woman who experienced a similar situation with that other company too. When my landlord called Johnson & Johnson, we received a quick response...came out same day!! The tech was genuinely concerned about my family with the heat rising and assured me they will fix my unit as quickly as possible..and they did! I am very very disappointed in how techs handle certain situations and actually found a MAJOR issue in open ductwork in unfinished basement that NO ONE from this company even bothered to look into or do any sort of testing to find out root cause....when I stated that my husband and I smelled musty, dusty smells and were affected by allergies, I was told 'this is normal' and nothing else. ???? You pay almost $400 for their better tier plan for HVAC service, and what you get is little to NOTHING. The tech barely does anything and if you state you have issues, they blow you off. Lazy!!!! I hired another company to install a new system, wasn't about to give this company anymore of my money. They found a cracked UV bulb that Hotzople had replaced, my filter area was jacked and should have been fixed a LONG time ago, and I today found an extra tubing coming off my duct in basement that was never capped off, thus rendering my entire system basically non functional -- at least very wasteful..... I cannot believe this has been for 7 years and Hotzople NEVER once checked for any duct work issues, or anything or ran any tests, I was systematically blown off, these guys do they BARE Minimum and ONLY care about collecting their yearly $s for maintenance. I highly suggest everyone EDUCATE yourself about HVAC before hiring ANYONE, these companies anymore have become greedy, they don't care. He identified some issues, but never told me what the required repairs would be. Then he told me that the repairs would cost us 75% of the cost of a new unit. He said that the AC unit needed to be replaced and possibly the air handler and even the water heater. This last recommendation made me skeptical. I asked for a quote on the repairs and separately on the cost of replacement. He said that replacement would require another 90 minute appointment; which I was not ready to commit too. I was expecting a quote and detailed listing of the repairs. We never received this quote. Based on the technician's description of the issues, my husband and I were able consider some potential repairs on our own. We made the repairs on our own (coil cleaning, capacitor replacement) and everything seems to be functioning well so far. My concern was that AllTech immediately jumps to a recommendation of replacement if a unit is older than 10 years. We never received a quote on the cost of repair. The repairs my husband and I made required roughly $30 worth of parts. I wish that AllTech would have provided the quote for repairs and not immediately jumped to the cost of an entirely new AC system. Also suggesting to replace the air handler and water heater was excessive.
