Avoid - carried out unauthorised work and charged me for it I hired Aspect to unblock a drain in my back garden. Their engineers spent a combined 6 hours working on it, costing me over £700. On completion they informed me that the drain had partially collapsed somewhere under another property's garden. We subsequently called out Thames Water who informed us it was "highly likely" that Aspect's engineers had caused the damage and that, as the blockage was outside of my property's boundary, Aspect, as a private contractor, were not authorised to work on the drain and should have stopped work the moment they realised the issue was outside of my boundary. Aspect's engineers are either poorly trained and do not know where they can and cannot legally operate, or they are happy to work on unauthorised drains and charge customers a significant amount of money to do so. My attempts to contact Aspect on this matter have been met with complete silence. This does not indicate of a well well, professional firm. If you are considering Aspect either as a domestic or corporate client, or considering working for them, I would strongly recommend considering other companies. read more

Absolute joke of a company, avoid like the plague. Turned up late, did FA whilst telling me what needed doing, sat in their van for 40 minutes writing a 'report' on ChatGPT, and charged me £527 for it. Cowboys in wrapped vans. read more

Awful. Paid over £2500 to have a gully drain unblocked (chemical treatment, pressure jetting). We were told this would work. 3 months later drain is once again blocked. What did the pumbers spend 2 days doing? Mostly sitting in their van. Waste of money. Now Aspect won't revist without us once again paying a fee. Avoid. read more

Very much a company to avoid. Having cancelled a booking, which they acknowledged, they have pursued me firstly for a cancellation fee (given I cancelled 5 minutes after booking the job, they have withdrawn that charge) but are now chasing me for the invoice for works that were never carried out, with a final demand (sent on Boxing Day) threatening to take me to court. Despite several communications they have yet to confirm any progress on resolving this. Do not touch with a proverbial barge pole. read more

Strongly advise you not to use this company. Worst experience ever. Communication is awful, they charge you for van spares not used and do not itemise materials used. Tradespeople are generally self employed and at a charge of £100 an hour do not hurry themselves, double up uneccessarily and don't seem to have the skills required. Although operatives who take the phone calls are polite they mostly fob you off and trade managers are non customer facing so sorting out any problems is a real headache. They do not generally respond to emails. You have to book using your credit card and they take payment of invoices on the day whether or not you are satisfied with the work or agree with the costs. They have a complaints policy and procedure but do not respond. read more

AVOID at all costs , worst company ever , rule of thumb work with cash in hand guys. Their support is the worst - they pass you around on hold endlessly , just to tell you some nonsense. They say they don't charge for time the enginner spends off site but then he was charging for it. They sent two people on two different dates, the first guy that came incorrectly diagnosed the problem so when the second guy came he said he couldnt do the work? The first engineer listed the parts i would need , the second guy comes without the parts and tries to get a collection fee for the parts. so i have been charged twice just for both of them to look around and stamp in my house. Not having it. Getting a chargeback through my bank. AVOID read more

My experience with Aspect Plumbing has been extremely disappointing -- not because of the quality of the plumbing work itself, which was performed to a good standard by a professional and courteous plumber, but because of the company's poor billing practices, lack of transparency, and abysmal customer service. I engaged Aspect for a leak at my property. The issues I encountered included: Being promised a specific arrival time which was missed -- and later discovering this time could never have realistically been met Being charged a higher weekend rate than was agreed at the time of booking -- this was only refunded after repeated emails. Receiving a quote that I believed covered both the remaining leak repair and some suggested preventative work (which I had agreed to). I paid a 50% deposit, only to be told afterward that the quote covered only the preventative work. A further invoice was then issued for the actual leak repair -- after I'd already paid, leaving me feeling cornered. Having the remaining balance of the quote for the preventative work taken from my card without my authorisation. I submitted a formal complaint in July 2025. Only after several follow-up emails and a phone call did I receive a partial refund -- an acknowledgment that some of the charges were inappropriate. However, I still appear to have been overcharged, and despite repeated and reasonable requests for an itemised invoice, Aspect Plumbing has failed to respond and has now gone completely silent. This kind of behaviour -- vague pricing, unauthorised charges, and then stonewalling when questions are raised -- is completely unacceptable. While I want to emphasise that the plumber on site was good, the company's management and administrative processes are seriously flawed. If you value transparency, fair pricing, and basic customer service, I would avoid this company at all costs. read more

I hired Aspect & Benham for a plumbing job, and it was the worst experience of my life. If you value your time, money, and sanity, STAY AWAY from these cowboys. * Lies & Deception - The plumber lied about the toilet not coming with a seat, then admitted it was just "bad quality." So which is it? * Fake Receipts? - The receipt he gave me had bank details that didn't match the supplier's. That's highly suspicious. * Rude & Aggressive Behaviour - The plumber barged into my home, was hostile, and tried to charge me £50 extra for his own mistakes. * Patronising Manager - The manager was condescending and dismissive, saying it was "just a 2-minute job" and cut me off mid-sentence while I explained their horrendous service. * Zero Accountability - Instead of fixing their mess properly, they refused to compensate me fairly and only offered a pathetic £10 refund. I wasted two full days dealing with these incompetent, money-grabbing jokers. Lesson learned: Cheap services = cut corners, bad attitudes, and dodgy practices. Don't make the same mistake. Spend your money elsewhere. read more

I used Aspect to fix a leaking toilet and was left feeling scammed by the experience. The plumber was on-site for less than five minutes, yet I was charged their one-hour minimum rate of over £100. He also said I'd need to cover his parking costs, even though their website clearly states that parking charges are not passed on to customers. I had to contact the company myself to challenge this. He proposed using a sealant, quoting £32 due to a 60% markup, even though the product typically costs around £5. I assumed he'd pick it up as part of the visit, but was told that would incur an extra £20 collection fee. None of this was communicated beforehand -- had I known, I would have bought the sealant myself. He also made it clear the sealant might not actually solve the problem (?!). £100 for 5 mins of advice that i could've gotten from chat gpt and no fix. Make your pricing transparent up front if you want to retain any customers! I raised a complaint, but the company offered no refund -- only the chance to book them again, which is laughable. Stay away. I wouldn't use them again and recommend confirming all potential charges upfront!!! read more

Worst experience ever. I booked them to fix my walking fridge. They came 3 days later after 2 bookings cancellation. My fridge was working but because of the heat wave in UK I ask them to just clean and check the gas level. When an engineer came here the fridge was working and it was 6 degrees . I ask him to just clean and check the gas level. The next day my fridge stopped working completely and after a week without fridge they send me an offer for 2000 pounds. They claim that my fridge is old and they need to do a lot of job to fix it plus to change the type of the gas. Which probably was the reason why the fridge stopped working at the first place. Because they put wrong type of gas inside. Something that they never told me in advance. Because I would never take the risk to damage my fridge. And was working before they touched it. This is their fault and of course no one took the responsibility. I am not saying that they did it in propose but they can did it also. The support of the company is ridiculous. Instead to come and try to fix their mistake they are blackmail me in order to take enother 2000 pounds Be carefull with that company. Don't trust them at all. Of course I will take legal advise and action against them . read more

£600 QUOTE MORPHS INTO £2 672 CARD GRAB -- CERTIFICATE NEVER DELIVERED Aspect quoted our company a fixed £600 for an out‑of‑hours EICR (confirmed in writing 30 Dec 24). The timeline that followed reads like a cautionary tale: * 2 Jan 25 - engineer fails to attend, no notification. * 3 Jan - inspection completed; breaker left off, overnight power outage, perishable stock destroyed. * Next‑day certificate promised; only an unsigned draft emailed 8 Jan. Final version still outstanding. * 27 Jan - Aspect silently debits our booking card £2 672.64--over 4× the agreed fee. Invoice carries no description. Every call, email and WhatsApp seeking clarification has met silence. Aspect later claimed they "could not reach us"--phone logs show otherwise. A formal Letter of Claim has been issued and a Section 75 charge‑back is in progress. I should have checked the reviews what was a small weep their so called technician clambered all over my expensive sofa instead of moving it or putting a dust sheet on it, then tried to avoid doing any serious investigation when he did he managed to cut into a water pipe without taking care, then I was asked to flush the toilet when he put some die in the water it absolutely gushed out like a water fall which means I'm guessing he's cut into the soil pipe will check with a real plumber. He made a load of mess no paper towels or buckets came un prepared at the end he sat himself on my stairs without a care like hes sitting at home for 10 minutes writing a silly report ! AVOID they are not professional just rude & clumsy i have not paid yet looks I will be sending them a bill after I check the leak in the morning myself it's 2.20am I can barely sleep with the stress this shambles of a firm has put me under. read more

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE OVER CHARGED FOR UNNECESSARY SERVICES AND THEM NOT BEING ABLE TO DETECT A SIMPLE STRAIGHTFORWARD LEAK. I contacted Aspect regarding a leak I had on my heating system. I explained that the leak was causing my boiler to drop pressure whenever the heating was turned off. Their "engineer" came out and spent about 10 minutes looking at the radiators and another 10 minutes doing brief thermal imaging. He then advised me that he could not find the leak so would have to use trace gas and that this would be £375 plus VAT for the gas and this would take around 3 to 4 hours labour which would be chargeable separately at £110 plus VAT an hour. I said to him I was not told that gas was a separate cost and I would speak to the office. I called the office and they said they do not tell customers about the trace gas charge as they may not need it despite stating on their website this was a vital method in leak detection. I told the lady I was speaking to that I was not going to pay their bill as I felt I was misled. Aspect then set up a recurring charge on my account as a means of taking funds from my account. I am currently £132 out of pocket. The only thing I received from Aspect for the funds they took from my account was an invoice and their "engineer" stating he could not find the leak. I called out another firm who clearly set out their charges and were totally transparent.Their engineer came out and within 10 minutes established I had a leak on a radiator valve which was surface level and you could see the water leaking out the valve. He was quite astonished that I had a leak company out and they did not detect the radiator valve was leaking despite checking it. Aspect is obviously a company who are not transparent and misleads customers. They seek to charge for unnecessary work in order to infIate their cost. If you are looking to be ripped off, then Aspect is definitely the company for you. If not, go with someone else. I would have given them zero stars if I could. read more

Stay away! Inflated costs and disingenuous company I am utterly appalled by the so-called service Aspect provided. Please, for your sanity, stay away - they will try to deceive and rinse you of money. Let me explain: Firstly, I booked in a leak detection report for the early morning slot. Engineer was delayed twice and didn't show up until late afternoon. No update from customer service. I had to call to chase myself and had rearranged my work day to be there. The engineer who showed up was friendly and nice, and explained everything in detail before telling me that it would likely cost £4,000-£5,000 to fix the damp issue in my flat. He said I would receive the report the next day. When no report came in, I chased up and the account manager answered as I asked if he could confirm the quote. He said the engineer quoted £7,300. I almost threw up. Demanding to know why, he couldn't give me a clear answer but did mention the mark-up from Aspect. A business that charges an extra £2,000-£3,000 just for their brand is not a business worth hiring. When I made it clear I would not pay this, he negotiated to £6,000. I said no and demanded to know why the engineer had told me one figure after a full inspection and now I was quoted this extortionate fee. He said he'd speak to the engineer and send over a full quote later that day. That was earlier this week and I haven't heard from Aspect since. Finally, I've been speaking to 5-6 companies, several of whom are experts in damp proofing and told me (after reviewing the report) that Aspect has been trying to pull one over on me. They offered far lower quotes, and several offered to come around and view the property with no survey to give a free quote. Two of them said Aspect has a bad reputation in the industry. If you read other reviews, you'll see many people say the same about Aspect. I am not an angry customer writing this because I want anything. I am writing this to warn others because I hope you don't get taken advantage of by this company. Go with a locally run company that cares. Aspect only wants your money and don't care if that means they have to lie or exaggerate to get it. read more

I spoke clearly on the phone on the services I needed (i.e. replace failed sealant material). This work was not done during the visit. The visit was planned at ~9am, then he changed it to 10am to 1pm, then he changed it again to 2pm to 4pm, then again to 4.30pm, then again to 5.30pm, finally he arrived at ~6pm or 6.30pm. I and my tenant were slaved to call multiple times and waiting forever from a customer center. I am then no surprised he didn't do the work agreed as he arrived so late. The following day he said he was going to write straightaway the recommendation on next steps. I never received any recommendation. However, they have chased me for payment for ghost diagnosis services that I never requested who recommendation I never received. This company is clearly a scam. Never attempt to use their services read more

We contacted Aspect due to hidden leaks, expecting professional support. Instead, we experienced the following issues: 1. Unauthorised Payment Payment was taken without our consent, despite requesting the invoice and payment link first. 2. Gas Pipe Damage. It is unclear how engineers looking for a leak are able to cut a pipe instead. We were told this would be documented and time deducted, but neither was done showing lack of transparency. 3. Overcharging Time billed does not match actual hours worked. They inflated the hours at the property as both engineers added 2 hours while doing nothing as the gas engineer repaired damage they caused. ( yes, they sent 2 engineers and paid hourly both of them) 4. Unauthorised Use of Materials A second gas cylinder was used without approval. It's unclear if it was even necessary. 5. Poor Communication Despite follow-ups, complaints about the poor service and issues, they did not take any action. read more

Dishonesty and theft. CRIMINALS‼ we requested they investigate water dripping from a second floor overflow pipe. They spent 9 hours on site checking drains, boilers etc creating a fake timesheet. They then said the water was coming up from under a patio slab! They left the drip, rinsed us for over a £1000 then took of. I wrote and phoned them repeatedly to give us our money back after such a blatant fraud. They dodged all emails and phone calls and kept our money and never returned to the property. tldr stay away from this company i hired them after I got a notification from Thames water that there is a leak in the property it's a standard 3 bedroom house. I did a basic test which ThamesWater suggests and found out that the leak is in the supply pipe. I hired them to find the exact location. The engineer took 1.5 hours to confirm the very thing I had already done, he then told me there will be extra charges for tracer gas and it's charged for per day of usage which I agreed to. He ran the test for 2 hours and found the probable leak area. He then spent half an hour writing a 10 line report and I was charged 900 pounds. 100 pounds per hour ex VAT + gas charge. I was at loss of words since just the detection in a small 5m pipe in the drive way cost me this much. But the real kicker was next day when they fixed the leak which was at the joint of supply and mains as the adapter was leaking. The whole leak fixing work was 4 hours but they spent 1 hour to get the part and 1.5 hours to write a report plus 1 hour testing time. The whole thing they somehow stretched to 8 hours. On top of this they landed a bigger blow by saying I have to pay hourly for 2 engineers despite mentioning no such costs to me before starting the work. Their website very clearly mentions the whole leak detection charge and I was assuming the invoice would be at that rate 100pounds+VAT which is quite high but I agreed to pay. The gas charge was applied on second day as well, all in all they used the gas max for 4 hours but somehow I have to pay for two days of usage. Cost of the whole thing has come out to be 3k. Another company gave me a quote of 1k to replace the whole pipe in the drive way + 250 pounds for fixing the driveway back. I feel gutted, i have collected all the evidences SMS, email and video recordings and I am planning to challenge them in small disputes forum. Absolute leeches. read more

Aspect appear to have trained technicians to perform the work that needs to get done, especially in an emergency. However, don't expect a "full service" offering from them. It's now been almost 8 months since the work was carried out and whilst Lucas, the head technician promised to support us in any insurance claim, we find ourselves begging for information with help to support the insurance company's constant queries. We are out-of-pocket almost £8,000 and racking up credit card interest daily. Aspect have preyed on a vulnerable situation, charged above market rates without providing sufficient support to assist in recovering those costs, as promised they would do. I wouldn't trust Aspect's word and would never recommend them to anyone either. We intend to take this matter to the Citizens Advice Bureau and relevant trade bodies. read more

Warning: Aspect Is a Complete Scam--Avoid This Company! I've dealt with Aspect four times in the past year thinking they might finally get it right--big mistake. My latest ordeal has been the worst of all: * Technician Takes Payment, Leaves with out fixing the issue: Since Tuesday, I've had no working shower despite paying in full. * Endless Runaround: I've repeated the same story to at least ten different agents. Every time I asked to speak to a manager, I was told "someone will let them know"--but of course, nobody ever did. * Andrew's the operations managers appalling Unprofessionalism: After days of silence, Andrew finally acknowledged my complaint. He acted sympathetic, promised to "take over," and assured me he'd call back at 1 PM yesterday. He never showed up. No call, no email, no text/ * Radio Silence & Broken Promises: Since Andrew's no-show, I've called, emailed, and chased him repeatedly. He blatantly refuses to respond or offer any solution. * Total Disrespect: Aspect doesn't just fail at their job--they refuse to even treat you like a human being once they have your money. I'm living without a functioning shower on a Friday afternoon thanks to their incompetence. Andrew clearly has zero regard for professionalism or customer service. If you value your time, money, and sanity, stay far away from Aspect--and especially don't trust management to follow through on a single promise. This company is a sham; they'll charge you, ghost you, and leave you high and dry. Avoid them at all costs. read more

We chose Aspect for non-invasive leak detection for a water leak that we couldn't find. They were here for 2 hours and said they didn't have enough gas to detect its location, so came back with more the next day. They still couldn't find the leak after 5 hours so we asked them to stop (mindful of their advertised charges). After all of this THEY TOOK £900 FROM OUR ACCOUNT THAT SAME NIGHT WITHOUT OUR CONSENT. They only had card details for confirming the booking appointment. In summary, they lifted up flooring in areas that the leak was not (so were invasive) they didn't find the leak, they charged us for the gas used (didn't tell us that was an extra cost) and the wasted 2 hours in the first place, and then charged an extortionate amount for the pleasure with no forewarning that it would be that much nor that it would be taken from our account. This all occured in June. All follow up correspondence to complain or try to escalate the complaints have been ignored or fobbed off as a "pending case". We are now nearly 3 months in with them continuing to ignore our complaints or acknowledge their wrongdoing. It has had a huge financial impact on our family as you can imagine. read more

If I could give zero stars I would- see the other bad reviews! We booked a plumber online and paid in advance for the hour, fine. When he got here, he did some dubious at best diagnostics, then faffed about for a few hours trying to connect to some system on his laptop and left, without having fixed or even provided diagnostics to us. Where this gets worse, is that they then CHARGED us for the few hours of faffing on his laptop, AND then added a cost "in two halves" according to their customer service for "grouting." We kicked up a fuss and got the few hours of fiddling about sorted out (partial refund), but no explanation for the rest of the charges. So over £400 for a guy to come and look at our sink and leave (I can completely understand the cost for bringing a plumber out/an hour of his time for making it to our house- I'm not disputing that.) To summarise- we had a plumber come out, look at our sink, give us a "diagnosis", faff for twoish hours and then got charged over £400 for this (inclusive of the initial cost to get the plumber out to us.) Absolute CONMEN - avoid. read more

Appalling from start to not even finish. Plumber turned up after allotted window 8-12. I was told this would be fixed all in the same day. Any parts they don't have in the van, the job time would stop whilst they go and get the part and come back and finish. Almost immediately upon arrival he insisted on taking tiles off the wall. I had to get my electrician and handyman contact (who has assessed what the job needs) to talk to him. He had to help guide the plumber to understand the type of shower he was looking at (he hadn't worked out it was ceiling fed), and was about to take tiles off the wall and start fiddling behind the back which would have cost a huge amount to rectify and for no reason as nothing was behind. Then he left the job and we haven't heard back. He had promised to get us quotes. I have sent emails to Aspect asking what is going on. I have had no replies, just continuing to send me bills for £153. For doing absolutely 0. No advice guidance, no quotes or rectification work that was promised. 7/10 I have sent the office emails with requests for quotes . I also called them and spoke to Dishen he advised me that I would get a call back within the hour and be provided with quotes. I have not received a call back I have no quotes or written responses. I took advice to formally write to them outlining breach of contract. Instead they continued to pursued me with bill reminders putting me under pressure to pay. 10/10 I got an email back for the first time and was given a promise of a quote by the end of the day. That didn't happen. No quote received. It's a series of failings that isn't acceptable. 12/11 they sent another threatening email for a final demand for payment i am being pursued further to pay under pressure when the contract has been broken and i have written to them formally to serve notice that the contract was breached. I will have to report them to trading standards and take them to court to get my money back. read more

Rip off and scam! I booked a dishwasher pre setup, meaning I needed an extra water supply and a waste water plumbing, clarifying plenty the appliance was not on site and at the time of the booking I was reassured it wasn't an issue. When the plumber showed up only carried out half job, refusing to complete it because he was missing the dishwasher and it needed it to determine where the waste pipe from the dishwasher was so he could then drill the whole into the wall to connect the plumbing, which is utter nonsense since the pipe attached to the dishwasher is flexible and designed to fit into any kitchen regardless that the plumbing is on the left or on the right. The assigned location was specific and the argument irrelevant as he was able to do the first part of the job. Well, after 3 hours, 60% mark up on the material supplied and much stress and disappointment, I was left to digest the bill for an incomplete job and forced to book a second visit for when the appliance would be in. With hindsight I am starting to realise it was just another excuse so I could be charged for the installation too. I tried to reason with the customer service team expressing that since the initial job wasn't carried out fully I shouldn't be charged for extra labour hours willing only to pay for the overpriced additional materials needed. Unfortunately I found myself being passed on from department to department without finding any support. Advise? Look somewhere else, they can't be trusted. read more

We needed some works done at a rental property and I thought I would give Aspect a try. When I received their quote it was eye-wateringly expensive (over £8k to fit 4 fire doors, re-varnish a kitchen worktop and a couple of other small jobs). Despite that, we went ahead, thinking that at least the works would be done right, by a professional company. How wrong we were... In short, 3 of the 4 fire doors were fitted with gaps that don't meet requirements (thus rendering them useless), one has a lock that doesn't work and the kitchen worktop looks like it has been done by an amateur. Shockingly poor quality for the amount they charged. They also took the remaining 50% of the invoice from my credit card without approval, which is frankly unbelievable. I have now spent the last 2 months being repeatedly fobbed off by their customer service team. Their policy seems to be to keep denying everything until you eventually go away. I am now looking at reporting them to trading standards and seeking a chargeback from my credit card company. I requested a simple job to be completed and booked an engineer for a noon time slot. However, no one turned up until 7 hours later, I was informed that I'd only be given 1 hour at day rates and any further work would be an out of hours rates. When the plumber did arrive he refused to do the work, which was to remove an existing radiator from the system (so I could re-decorate) and that the whole system would have to be drained, the rad removed, refilled and then the system rebalanced, all of which would take 4-5 hours. The would have meant the job would have cost £750 to remove 1 radiator in my house. I therefore sent the engineer away as this was unreasonable and in fact, completely incorrect. However, I'm now being charged £102 for a call-out fee!! Having contacted Aspect directly several times, Ella Syson, Trade Assistant is demanding I settle the bill, which I dispute. UPDATE - AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE Following my 1 star review dated 8 December concerning a leak detection operative who tried to pressurize me into accepting a quote for a refit of my leaking mains pipe (quote was £13,000+), this is the ridiculous and untruthful reply I got from the company: Good morning, I am contacting you in regard to regards to case number 00153758. I do apologise for all the inconveniences caused. I can confirm that majority of our clients are covered by insurance. Our engineers and the office will always help with your insurance claim. We always advise contacting your insurance before the works go ahead to make sure you are able to cover. I can confirm that our field manager. You were not charged for my field manager attending. Our field manager does site visits to ensure jobs are being undertaken correctly and to make sure everything is running smoothly. Our engineer found the leak in a very short amount of time and all the work conducted undertook the correct protocol. He had also put in a quote for you. I do apologise that it wasn't within your budget however the quote had to cover all of the costs necessary and we were not able to reduce it any further as we had already cut the costs as much as we could including a discount. I can confirm that Aspect do charge up to 65% on parts and materials which is subject to our terms and conditions. We had also processed a 15% discount off of your reactive invoice. If you would have chosen to accept the quote, then we wouldn't have charged for the trace and access. My manager did try and call you a few times to explain through the charges of the reactive bill and the quote but could not receive a response. I do apologise that you felt threatened, I can assure you that our engineers would never mean to make you feel this way as we only wish to assist you and ensure that the problem is fixed. Please let me know if you have any further questions and I will be happy to help. THIS REFIT HAS NOW BEEN CARRIED OUT BY A LOCAL COMPANY FOR £1870 + £150 TO RELAY MY ARTIFICIAL TURF In addition I contacted Citizens' Advice who take seriously an elderly woman being pressured by deceitful tradesman, and they have progressed my account to Trading Standards. read more

Avoid this company at all costs. They are shockingly useless £1,000 to do some sealant and put up a curtain rail - if I lived in the country I could have done this at my tenanted property myself in a couple of hours. They also did the job badly and left 2 giant holes in the bedroom wall. They claim they filled them in but I have photos from 20 mins after they left showing that was not the case. 6 weeks of calls and emails resulted in only £350 being refunded and experience of some truly useless customer service. read more

DO NOT BOOK ASPECT - 0 STAR REVIEW *will send multiple quotes, with duplicate work and costs *will arrive late and/or without the neccessary equipment for the job *will delay completing the job *if you challenge the work done; their professionalism; or anything else, they will ignore you and then threaten legal action until you pay (even if costs are unapproved and unjustified) read more

Exaggerated time charges are standard practice. I had a carpenter take 3 hours over an hour's work. He arrived late then spent the first 10 mins talking on the phone. There were multiple trip back and forth to the van to 'get materials' but at one point the guy was away for 45mins. Sure enough I was charged for the entire time they were there. They did not provide a timesheet at the end of the job, and there was no invoice before money was taken from my account. But the worst part was the Customer Services Manager who I finally managed to speak to after six weeks of chasing. He accused me every step of the way for bringing this upon myself saying I was responsible for making sure the contractor was working. I had to provide CCTV footage to prove he hadn't worked. So aggressive and unprofessional. Sadly seems common practice read more

I have had four/five services from Aspect. A CCTV drain inspection. The guy turned up on time. He did the job. I didn't get the report until 2 weeks later. An electrics inspection. The first appointment the guy didn't turn up, I wasn't informed that the guy wasn't going to be able to make it until three to four hours after the time which he was supposed to turn up. The second appointment, the guy turned up, a bit late, but his machine for measuring the circuits didn't work, so he couldn't complete the job. He overcharged me on the time, I decided to sign because I just wanted the job done, and felt that any contestation on my part might compromise this. Nevetheless at this point I asked to speak to someone in authority to relay my dissapointment. I was promised someone would contact me, they didn't. The third appointment, a new electrician turned, up a little late, he did the job. A few days later I got a call from Aspect informing me that I had yet to reschedule my appointment for the electrician. I had to explain to them that it had already happened. Several days later I had to explain this to another person from Aspect's call centre, who seemed to think the job had been done on the second visit. The electrician who did the job said I'd get the report within 5-7 working days. I got a copy of the report, which did not have the approval of the Head of Electrics, after 8 working days, after having made some effort to get it myself. The people that I spoke to, in an attempt to find out when I was going to get the report, seemed a little annoyed, as if they were sick of talking to demanding customers. I had a gas inspection, the guy turned up on time, did the job and went. Good service here. I've had a gas heating assesor turn up, early, which isn't a problem, and do a prompt assessment, with a quick and detailed quote arriving a few days later. Excellent. I've asked for references, from the person who sent me the quotation, but have had no response, after three to four days. If I don't get any references to talk to, the job will go to another heating engineer, so the good work done by the assesor will count for nothing. I asked Aspect if they could do some work on the guttering and roofing, they took my details, but never got back to me. When I'm on hold I'm told over and over again that Aspect are second to none, and are always looking to improve. There have been times when I thought Aspect were second to none, but that's when I felt it couldn't get any worse. Though it appears that some individuals do work effectively, I don't really think that the culture and ethic of customer focused work, and continuous improvement is ingrained in the attitude and organisation of Aspect. I think the claims Aspect make are more wishful thinking. I don't mind when things don't always go according to plan. But what I do want is people who will clearly communicate with me when things aren't going to plan, and genuinely care and put themselves in the shoes of the customer. At times I feel like the customer seems to get lost in the Aspect system, and at others there are staff who turn a blind eye to bad service, and fail to take responsibility for addressing it. Its a shame because I do like the idea of a one stop service like Aspect, and I wouldn't mind paying a little extra for the guarantee of a good service, but Aspect haven't delivered that. read more

DO NOT GO NEAR THESE PEOPLE! Absolute rip off merchants! Came to fit security grilles, unable to do so as did not have correct drill bit, but left unfinished drilled hole above my patio door. Also removed two miniscule pieces of skirting (in order to fit the security grille that was not fitted) and filled the holes he found with foam, please note that I did not request that the holes be filled but then proceeded to leave skirting area open and unfinished! Thanks!!! After having spent the best part of an hour trying to work out how the grilles should be fitted! NOTE-I was being charged for that hour by the way. Have just received a very vague job report which tells me that 'Expenses Materials foam/silicone quantity equals quantity 1. Expenses???When I queried the final payment amount that they were requesting by email and requested a proper invoice prior to the payment, given that I was disputing the amount, this is what I was told via email, ."The email sent to you previously was not an invoice but rather the engineer's job report. This was sent to inform you of the works carried out and the amount to be charged to your card prior to us processing this payment. Please see a breakdown of the charges below: 1 hour labour: £55 + vat Materials used (expanding foam and silicone): £6 + vat Total: £61 + vat (£73.20 incl. vat) Please note that as per our terms and conditions payment is processed from the card details provided at the time of booking on completion of the works unless payment is received onsite by an alternative method (i.e. cash or cheque). The previous email sent to you was sent as a courtesy email before we processed payment from the card details provided. I will however make an exception in this case and send you the invoice prior to taking payment. This will be sent to you shortly once it has been produced. Kind regards.." So, I am being charged extra for the miniscule amount of foam that was used to fill the holes, as well as the fact that my living room has been left in a worse state than it was when the contractor arrived. Fortunately, I took pictures before, during and after the 'workman' came to do this supposed work, so I have clear evidence of what it looked like before, during and after the 'work' done by the 'workman.' Will let you know how I get on. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please note that I have pitched the price bar at 'pricey' but only because there isn't one that says 'extortionate!' Would like to have given a no star rating but for reasons best know to themselves, Aspect.co.uk, do not allow their customers this option. Have now sent further email repeating my dispute with regard to the suggested payment amount, particularly the materials (?) plus vat charge! Have also (again) politely requested that they refrain from taking the suggested amount from my account whilst I am in dispute about the said suggested amount we'll see what happens. read more

Im writing this letter of complaint, of the bad service i have received from this company.I called in aspect trying to avoid cowboy traders, but that is exactly what i got.. The first job, the engineer came in and looked at my boiler and fiddled around with it for 20mins and told me that i needed some parts, he didn't even take a bolt of and they charged me a full peek hour..which was £132.00 The second time he came he changed the Control board & temperature sensors and got it to work. when he waited for the cylinder to fill up he found a leak, and told me that the cylinder was cold due to not having hot water for a couple of days and when hot water came flooding in, it expanded the cylinder and caused it to leak.. when i asked my own engineer he told me this was a load of rubbish, and said that he may of damaged it himself. this job cost over £500 He then came up with an idea to stop the leak by changing a damaged 22mil compression elbow. What he did next still amazes me.. he saw it off, and connected it with a new 22 mil flexible tap connector pipe.?? What a job ay?this job cost over 300 2days later..the boiler stopped working again, and had to call them back, they told me that If the problem is related to their workmanship the call will not be chargeable. If, however, the problem is unrelated to their workmanship this call will be chargeable. and guess what, they charged me. I decided to get the job that they done looked at, so i called in my own engineer, i later found out that aspect's engineers connected my boiler in a way that by-passed my timer which made my boiler work 24h..? now how dangerous is that? And how about my electric bill? and its STILL leaking!..my engineer has quoted me £1500 for a new boiler, aspect quoted me just over £1000 for just that job, madness today im still getting letters that im owning money..I was even told that i would get a 20% off my invoice due to the lack of service, still haven't seen that yet.. they send you countless invoices with different figures , different jobs with vat & then without..i would of thought they would send you one invoice for that one entire job? so it get very confusing how much they are actually paying You guys are disgraceful and just as bad as them fat mens ripping off granny's I have been told I am a liar by your customer services team and they threatened to check the call recording..I said yes please do check. They have never followed by my request. That is the only way this will be resolved. I have contacted trading standards who will be in contact directly ANYONE READING THISPLEASE PLEASSE PLEASE AVOID!!!! RIP OFF, SCAMMED, COWBOYS!! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! read more

BEWARE OF EXTRA UNEXPLAINED CHARGES I would never use again! I used their handyman servies approx one year ago and was very pleased. They guy they sent was excellent and did a great job. Bill came to around £250-300. Fine for the work done. No complaints. Got another handyman recently and he was decent enough. He didnt' do as good of a job as the first (e.g., hung pictures without double checking their placement with me I thought they were hung too high, but then it was too late), but I still would use their services again. And then I got the bill. Hourly rate came to around £250 again which was fine and accurate and I was happy to pay. But then there was some unexplained £31 + VAT for supplies. The only supplies the guy used were 8 ordinary screws and two bits of what looked like scrap wood maybe 1in x 1in x 12in, certainly nothing special. I contacted aspect to get detail (and followed up as it went unanswered the first go round) and was told they'd knock £10 off (no explanation given). I still thought this was way too high for what was actually used. They finally agreed to charge me £15 + VAT explained they ordinarily charge a mark up on supplies, but in my case they would only charge me actual cost. After I stopped laughing at that farce, I ended up just paying the thing cause they clearly were digging in, even though there is no way actual cost is anywhere near that price. I've been to B&Q and don't live under a rock, those bits and pieces were worth maybe £3 retail. Give me a break! What bugs me about this is not the amount of money, but the feeling of knowing I'm being scammed. I don't care if it's a small con, a con is a con in my book. It'll probably prove to be a fatal business practice for aspect as I know I won't use them again. It's ludicrous to lose a repeat customer cause your'e trying to squeeze them for a few extra pounds. The sensible thing to do would be to remove the charges after I complained (even more sensible not to charge for essentially nothing in the first place). Had this been the case, I would have used them again. As it stands, I'll take my business elsewhere. I recommend you do the same. Once a con artist, always a con artist. Buyer beware!!! read more

Booked an Electrician to fix a lighting and a socket problem. I phoned the company after my husband got the number from the internet it was the first number that came up with a google search for electricians in north London. I booked an appointment in the morning at around 9am and was given a window of between 11am and 1pm on the same day, to my relief. The woman on the phone was very helpful and informative and easily understood. She told me to expect one electrician and that the price would be a minimum of £90 for an hour and £45 per half hour thereafter. Pretty standard rates from past experience. I was plesantly surprised when Michael arrived at about 12pm, well prepared and quick to start work. I'd already given a brief description of the work needed over the phone that morning. He managed to get the work done quickly and was happy to explain what he was doing as he went along (I had a few questions as to what had gone wrong). During his visit, he had to replace one dimmer switch which was broken and he had the parts to do so, with him. He told me the price of the part (which was competitive) and my options for replacing it before asking my permission to fit it. I was happy for him to change it there and then as it was more convenient for me. When he'd finished, he wanted to clean up after himself but I told him not to bother as the place was a mess anyway as we were having other work done at the same time. Michael told me the invoice would be sent to my email address and that if I didn't have the cash or a cheque on me to pay him, the money would be debited from my account using the details that I'd given over the phone that morning. All in all, a no hassel, efficient job performed by a well informed, pleasant chap. I will be booking with aspect.co.uk again in the future if needed and I would be happy to recommend them to friends. It's a shame that they've received such damning reviews previously from other areas of the company (plumbing/roofing) and for their electricians but from my own experience, they get 5 stars. read more

I required an urgent boiler repair and contacted this company at 3pm as they came up first in a google search. I told them I needed an appointment before 7pm that day. At the time I said I was concerned that the boiler manufacturer may insist on me using the installing engineer to keep the warranty valid (he wasn't available at the time of calling). I explained all this over the phone, concerned about cancellation fees and the phone operative said that the best things would be to make an appointment with them anyway and the engineer would call me before arriving and I could just advise then whether I needed them to attend. Grateful for and somewhat surprised at their flexibility I agreed. In the end I didn't need the engineer and the call out was cancelled. End of story. Should be end of story, but since then they have been harassing me for payment of a cancellation charge. Hang on?! I am not normally the type of person to complain and as a small business owner I really understand the need to have cancellation charges for time wasters. But the fact is I checked with them explicitly! I would not have booked the appointment had they not reassured me. I feel duped. They keep telling me they record their calls so they can verify exactly what was said to me. Good! Please check your phone recordings so you can verify what I am telling you. This is the perfect example of why customers should be protected by having the calls recorded. The company continues to call me a liar citing some fine print in a confirmation email. They either can't or won't find the call recording. I feel harassed and sick of being made out to be a liar. I wouldn't recommend these guys based on my experience. I can't comment on their price or quality of engineering services but their customer services are appalling. read more

Very poor service. Please take 2 minutes to read this, unless you like to have your time and money wasted by a poorly organised company: Our shower door was broken. Damien Trehy from Aspect came round to give us an estimate. He spent 10 minutes in the house, during which time he told us several times that we would NOT be charged for the estimate there that day, and then spent a further 30 minutes outside in the road getting an estimate for us. He left without giving us an estimate. That was 15th September. Aspect sent us an estimate NINE DAYS LATER (24th September) for £382! (During that 9 day wait we had the shower door fixed for £80). We were also charged £126 for the 10 minutes Damien Trehy spent in our house NOT giving us an estimate. Even after he told us numerous times that we would NOT be charged for his estimate there. When the invoice arrived it said that he was on site for 45 minutes! I wrote 4 e-mails in total to: Ana Antonio, Daniel Newton and the Invoicing department. No-one responded. I called 22nd October and spoke to Harry in customer service who was unable to put me through to accounts. I told him very strongly the problems I was having and he assured me I would be called back. I asked him when and he couldn't say. It's now a week later and no-one has called me back nor e-mailed. In summary: took up our time, lied to us about cost, took 9 days to give us an estimate, charged us £126 for 10 minutes of totally unproductive 'estimating', estimated an extortionate sum, took up hours of chasing them and never responded to any messages. This company does not care about its customers. I wish I had read the online reviews (yelp) first that I have since seen. Unfortunately they are far worse stories than this one. Please shop around further. read more

I recently saw someone from Aspect Maintenance on the television bemoaning their inability to get credit to expand their business and was horrified at the prospect of them being able to do this. The incident that I had with them was a number of years ago but I wanted to add my voice to all the warnings about this company. The problem that I had was with my boiler (a Keston) which had packed up. Being new to the area where I lived I found aspect on the internet and had them send an engineer round. The engineer himself said he knew nothing about Kestons but that he would give it a go which he proceeded to do taking 2 visits to have said go. I wish I had followed my instinct to tell him to leave and that I'd cal someone else but my mistake was to let him try. Needless to say the didn't fix the problem as he diagnosed the wrong issue and I ended up having to call Keston themselves to send an engineer round to fix what he had done. Regardless of this, an invoice duly arrived from aspect for around £300 which I put to one side and due to a serious family illness forgot about dealing with. They started calling and I explained that I didn't think I should pay for the reasons above but they were having none of it and sent a bailiff notice round saying that if I didn't pay within a certain period then the bailiffs would come in. At this point the family illness was so severe that I just paid it instead of risking the bailiffs and I had no appetite for a court case at that time. Anyway, every time I see one of their vans I get a sick feeling in my stomach to me this firm is nothing short of cowboys and bullies and I hope that this warning tale deters others from making the same mistake I did. read more

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. If I could give 0 stars, that would be too many. Not only did Aspect not do the promised work, they actually made my day far worse than if I had never contacted them. To begin, the engineer had been sent from the diametrically opposite side of London and so was 3 hours late. Despite email confirmation well in advance that he would be arriving with certain parts (re-verified by Aspect's own review of the relevant call records), he was never told this and had nothing, so absolutely no work could be done. This was entirely the fault of the Aspect booking team and call centre. Aspect's call centre staff and management took no responsibility for this total shambles and waste of my entire day off work, offering at most a 10% discount when the intelligent response would have been an offer to do the work for free at my convenience to retain even the semblance of goodwill. Despite promises of a call from senior management, the first further contact I have had since Monday 15 July is a request for feedback today, 19 September. So here it is, and on their website too (where of course it will not be published). All in all, atrocious work from Aspect, and I shall not be shy in saying so to family, friends and the thousands of people that work in my office. By way of contrast, Silver Saints were on time, professional, friendly, followed the agreed work plan, helpfully suggested a couple of cheap and effective fixes for unrelated issues and charged considerably less. They deserve your business. read more

SO THAT YOU ARE ALL AWARE YOU CAN ALSO LEAVE REVIEWS DIRECTLY ON THE ASPECT.CO.UK WEBSITE. IT NEEDS TO BE COMMUNICATED HOW BAD THEIR SERVICE REALLY IS BEFORE MORE PEOPLE ARE EFFECTED!!! I QUESTION THE AUTHENTICITY OF THE POSITIVE REVIEWS HERE, EVERYONE I HAVE SPOKEN TO HAS BEEN BADLY EFFECTED BY ASPECT AND THEIR POOR SERVICE I had aspect carry out several small jobs which were expensive but fine, I then requested a job to repair a faulty roller shutter in my flat. The 'engineers' literally destroyed the casing which the shutter was cased in as well as the curtains, they left the job looking as though a bomb had gone off. It is incomprehensible how a so called tradesman could claim to be proud of his work when having left the job in such a terrible state. When intending to raise the issue with aspect I was IGNORED FOR MORE THAN ONE MONTH before anyone from aspect would speak to me, they never returned my calls, not even once. I called almost every day for one month asking to speak to customer services and not a sales rep who 'couldn't help'). Once I spoke to the head of windows and doors 'specialists', I was rudely called a liar and told to go away even after sending proof in the way of images both before and after the work was done. I wish I could upload the images on this site, it is shocking. I am currently pursuing legal advicemy advice to you is STAY AWAY..use trust a trader or rated people at least their feedback is genuine. read more

Oh, where do I even start with my delightful experience using 'Aspect' services? First off, I had the absolute pleasure of being overcharged by a mere £145. No big deal, right? And while I patiently awaited a response to my complaint, I was graced with an avalanche of emails and phone calls from their ever-so-dedicated Credit Control Team. Yes, even on Sundays! Because who doesn't love being harassed on their day off over an incorrectly invoiced bill of £294? Now, get this--apparently, having a worker spend 44 minutes at my house is worth two full hours of charges. Why? Because he forgot his ladder. That's right, he actually charged me for his little trip home to fetch it. How considerate! I spent countless hours trying to explain to this crack team that I was just waiting for the correct invoice before paying, but no, they kept the calls and emails coming like they were on some kind of mission. Honestly, it was such a stress-free experience--if you enjoy relentless harassment, that is. Finally, when I received the correct bill of £149, I thought, "Surely, they'll offer some sort of compensation for all this hassle." But silly me! Their version of 'compensation' was simply fixing their own mistake and sending me the right bill. How generous! It's comforting to know that in Aspect's world, correcting an error they made in the first place qualifies as a grand gesture of goodwill. What a joke! read more

I am buying a house and booked aspect to carry out a 'pre-purchase electrical report', to identify and problems with the electrics and any remedial work that will need doing. It was a pain from beginning to end and a complete waste of money. Aspect's call centre staff made a mistake with my booking, double-booking the engineer I needed to attend, which required me to have three subsequent telephone conversations with Aspect to sort it out and causing me all manner of hassle arranging to key collections with the estate agent. The engineer did not turn up until after 2pm to collect the key from the estate agent (even though it says 1.45 on the invoice). The 'pre-purchase' report I have received is a complete waste of money. I had to wait a week to get it and chase for it twice. Well, it wasn't worth the wait. It gives me no information about the electrics at the property at all, just recommends that Aspect do a further inspection for £260+VAT. The engineer spent 1 hour 45 minutes at the property (apparently) but he can't tell me anything else?! It is not a report at all, Aspect themselves call it an estimate. I feel Aspect have just used it as an opportunity to pitch for more work. I feel they have completely misrepresented their services and I have paid for something that I have not received. read more

I have used Aspect for Window repair and found them to be very unprofessional. I clearly asked while booking a call if they would charge for one hour even if their engineer took ten minutes. They were quite clear that total charge would be for entire job and the charge for pre booked one hour would be asbsorbed in it. I booked the job, they came to fix my windows and surprise ! the engineer claimed that the fix that was suggested by the engineer who visited us for estimate was wrong and now we got to do something else as well i.e pay more money to Aspect ! Plus they charged us 102 pounds for 10 minutes visit despite having told me otherwise. Repeated calls to Aspect including to John Black, head of Windows went unanswered. John Black is a great example of rubbish customer service he never responds to emails, never returns calls and simply keeps avoiding you ! Plus the finance team repeatedly call and ask you why are you avoiding payments ! Adele from Finance was insulting and rude. No sign of award winning service that Aspect proudly proclaims . Also repeated requests to John Black /finance for someone to look into my complaints went unanswered. Aspect is totally unprofessional and I would caution anyone against using them. Crazy prices, poor attitude and too cocky to care about customers ! read more

I recently called out an Aspect engineer to get a quote to fix a leaking pipe (that they had already repaired three months earlier) and a dripping tap. I went through the work with the engineer and got a pretty good idea of the cost of materials and time required. When the one line quote arrived, it was more than 50% higher than I had been led to expect. When I explained this and asked for more detail, I received a two line breakdown of the quote (time and parts). When I queried this further on the phone to ask how much the individual parts were costing, they were obviously making up the numbers as they went along as they kept changing the prices so that they had to add up to their earlier total. By the end of the call they were quoting me £45 for a pair of tab cartridges (normally £20) and justifying it by saying that they only fitted the best and hence it cost more. The call ended with the service rep, by this time all over the place with his numbers, saying he would speak to the engineer to get clarification and then call me back. Not surprisingly he never did! Total bunch of cowboys! And I still have to fork out for the repair of the leaking pipe that they bodged the first time. read more

I have just had a bathroom installed by aspect.co.uk and found them hugely impressive from start to finish. We were recommended to them by a friend so called to book in an estimate and found the people in the call centre both pleasant and knowledgeable. The chap came round a couple of days later and talked us through our options and made a number of suggestions that some of which we liked and went with and some were beyond our budget so we made that clear. Our estimate arrived 2 hours after he walked out the door! Apparently his notes are sent electronically back to a team in the office who then turn it into a formal quote which is emailed to us along with a brochure and some suggestions on fixtures and fittings. We went back with a few questions that were quickly answered so we accepted and booked them in to start the following Monday. 10 days later I was standing in my super plush bathroom and couldn't be happier. I am not usually one to spend time leaving reviews, but these guys deserved it (the link was sent to me as part of the invoicing process - they even made the review part straightforward!). read more

NIGHTMARE! For gods sake use Dynorod instead. Firstly ASPECT came on the wrong day but charged me a callout anyway. Then the guy came but his jet wash was broken. They charged me anyway. Thirdly, a guy came at the wrong time when were were open to the public. They charged me. (I had explained the times to 3 different people). Finally a guy came and as far as I was concerned, he jetted the pipes, charged me and all was well. £320 was taken from my card and after A LOT of phone calls and emails, they credited some back, but not as much as I expected. Today I see my toilets are not unblocked at all. The water levels are rising in the toilets. I phoned Aspect. APPARENTLY they have left messages (on a phone number with no voicemail) to tell me the 'Engineer' couldn't unblock the pipes but needed a camera. He didn't find it necessary to tell any of my staff on site. He just said goodbye and left. If they come back with a camera, it's another £162. Dynorod charge £150, they supply TWO MEN AND A CAMERA as standard. DO NOT USE ASPECT. IT'S A LICENCE TO PRINT MONEY read more

Rang them because our Saniflo macerator pump wasn't working, told them that on the phone. They sent out a plumber who spent time undoing the exit pipe, did god knows what else and then said it is a problem with the Saniflo and you need to get a Saniflo engineer in. We did this and the Saniflo guy in 2 seconds said any trained plumber would have known the problem was with the pump, should have told us to call Saniflo and walked out the door. End result, paid twice to have the same job done. We told Aspect this and asked for a refund. They insisted that once they attend any job they get to charge the customer, whether they fix the problem or not (and seemingly regardless of whether they ever should have tried to fix the problem). After half a dozen fairly terse emails they offered a partial refund by which time I said they could keep their money and I would rather spread the word of this approach. This happened once before with our boiler too a few years back, use extreme caution and ensure they can deal with the problem before booking an Aspect engineer! read more

I contracted Aspect Maintenance to do some building and electrical work. They completely botched the job and caused damage to my property. I had an independent contractor review the work and he found that Aspect had left my property in a dangerous state and the work that had been done did not comply with building regulations. I therefore refused to pay for the botched work. In response, Aspect sent me numerous debt collecting letters and threats to take me to court. We finally went to court a couple of weeks ago. The Judge found that the work Aspect Maintenance had done was clearly substandard and not done with reasonable skill and care and that Aspect Maintenance were indisputably in breach of contract. The Judge found in my favour and awarded me money for my losses, legal fees and other court costs. So, my advice would be, don't use Aspect Maintenance, in my experience they charge high prices for unskilled, poor quality work, don't do the work correctly and then send intimidating letters demanding payment if you are an unhappy customer!! read more

Aspect came out to do two jobs fit a gas pipe to the cooker and a boiler service. The gas pipe to the cooker went well enough (well except them not having a part even though this is what we booked them for and charging me £54 to go to get the part from a shop 500 metres away which took 30 mins). The second part was a boiler service. They needed to do some work so it took longer and cost more than hoped but we could live with that as we appreciate that you just don't know what is needed until the job is surveyed. Unfortuanately despite charging over £500 for the work the boiler doesn't actually work. it makes terrible noises, water drips from it and we can't shut it off. The boiler is worse for having the service done. we have called and called to get some help but they don't seem interested at all. We are probably going to have to pay for a new boiler to be fitted now. Wouldn't use again. Follow up they now say that we should have replaced the boiler but only after charging us £600 to fix (and it still isn't fixed)! Terrible! read more

Had an engineer over to check the boiler as it had been leaking with water ingress in periods of heavy rain and I occasionally smelt gas. Engineer stayed for a full hour before saying the water ingress was normal in heavy rain and wind. Just before the hour was up, he decided that the seal on the boiler was faulty and needed replacing. This was the first he had mentioned this. I asked him how much it would be to replace, he said whatever it was Aspect would charge a 60% mark-up on the cost and I should get him to sort the issue privately and he would charge me cost. He said it would take 1.5-2 hours with the materials on top. The materials cost £28. This meant it would cost me £230 including materials to get him to sort it privately. I agreed, because he said if I didn't get it done he would isolate the boiler. He came the next day, completed the job in 20 mins and took the entire £230. This was on top of the initial call out fee of £95 plus VAT for the initial visit. Total rip off. read more
