Rip-off, thieves, don't use I had a leak detector booked for 10am, who never arrived. The phone support team first assured me that he would be there at 12pm, but despite various phone calls the person was still not that at 3.30pm. The booking was rescheduled for 9am the next morning. When I finally got to speak to the engineer, he told me that the work that needed doing would take a minimum of 5 hours, despite the phone team having assured me previously that it should take 1 hour. That brought the bill up from just over £100 to £400. When I complained they told me the best thing they could do was a 10% discount, for which I still haven't received confirmation via email. Don't use this company. The people you can speak to on the phone have no idea about the work that you're booking and will lie through their teeth. Better to book from trades people directly. read more

The Aspect electricians (Eugene Herbst) demonstrably scammed me out of £2,000 by making up an issue that didn't exist, the back office (Brad Glendinning) nevertheless backed him up. Stay away from Aspect, some of their employees are scamsters. They take advantage of the fact that ordinary people lack the knowledge about electrical issues to be able to judge whether what they say is correct in order to "take them for a ride" i.e. billing large sums of money for issues that do not exist. Here is a timeline of the events: 1. we had an issue with our electrics (some light switches didn't work) and I called Aspect. They sent their electrician called Eugene Herbst who attended and ran some tests. 2. Eugene said he temporarily fixed the issue but that there were some bigger issues with the underlying electrical system so he recommends him coming back the next day to conduct a standardized test known as EICR Electrical Safety Testing, which I agreed with 3. the next day Eugene came back with another electrician (clearly a friend of his). They spent the entire day running tests for which they billed me two full days of work which amounted to about £1,500. At the end they said that there was still an issue that they weren't able to fix namely an "open neutral circuit" which resulted in an unsatisfactory EICR certificate. They recommended that they come back *again* to trace the open neutral. Since tracing an open neutral really hard, both of them would need to come back again and it would probably take them a full day again. All the way through Eugene and his colleague were extremely friendly with big smiles, cracking jokes etc. 4. Aspect wrote a report clearly identifying the circuit that supposedly had the issue, namely circuit number 6 which was marked as "rn open circuit" in the report 5. After they left, I phoned the contractor who had originally installed the electrical system not too long before that to let them know about the issues and forwarded the Aspect report. He said he'd like to send his own electrician to take a look and I thought it wouldn't hurt to get another opinion. 6. the other electrician came back and looked at the electrical board for 1 minute, specifically the supposedly problematic circuit identified in the Aspect report and said he had no idea what Aspect were talking about regarding the supposed open neutral issue. Instead, that circuit was clearly fine and he wrote a report saying so. The other electrician said "Open neutrals don't just disappear by themselves so there's a chance the Aspect electricians just made it up to take you for a ride". 7. I then called Aspect saying that they should please come back under their call back procedure. Eugene Herbst attended again. I explained the issue and made sure to look over his shoulder to see what he was doing. He became quite nervous and then said, quite sheepishly, "I'm really sorry we must have made a mistake, there is indeed no open neutral". He then disappeared rather quickly. 8. I asked for the EICR report to be updated to include the new information and to remove the open neutral issue and to update the certificate from "unsatisfactory" to "satisfactory". Aspect were extremely reluctant to do this and I had to call back about 5 times for them to do this and it took two weeks to get the updated certificate. 9. The total sum of money I paid Aspect for this was £798 + 660 + 342 + 171 = £1,971. 10. *Given that open neutrals do not fix themselves and that (according to the other electrician) it is very unlikely to mismeasure these electrical flows, to me the only possible conclusion from this experience was that Eugene Herbst and his colleague indeed "took me for a ride" and tried to generate work for themselves for an issue that didn't exist. 11. I called up Aspect and demanded to speak to a supervisor to whom I explained the situation. I suggested that they may want to think about refunding me the money for the EICR test which was for an issue that never existed in the first place. The supervisor (called Brad Glendinning) said he needed to speak to Eugene. After doing that he called me back to say that he thinks that, wait for it (!), the most likely explanation is that there really was an open neutral to begin with (i.e. Eugene did not make a mistake) and that I hired the other electrician to fix the issue and that I'm now just trying to get out of paying the bill. They therefore would not refund me any of the charges. Oh the audacity! Overall, this was one of the worst experiences with contractors I've ever had. It's rare that it's so clear that you're being cheated and there's just nothing you can do about it. The only advice I can give: please stay away from Aspect. I am sure that not all of their employees are as dishonest as Eugene Herbst and Brad Glendinning but there are definitely some bad apples. read more

Absolutely the WORST. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! We spent our entire weekend waiting for a plumber to arrive who kept getting diverted to other jobs, and rather than having Aspect ring us to let us know, we sat waiting for the plumber to arrive, and it was only when we rang in that we were told that they had been re-assigned. Kept getting pushed back by hours and then by days. It was only when said I had found a plumber elsewhere that they magically managed to divert a plumber to me to arrive and said they would give me 10% off the bill for the issues I had. Then the final bill did not take 10% off, and I was chased on paying the amount due without having this 10% taken off. Tried to speak with a manager and was constantly told they were "in a meeting". It is a real shame as the plumber who came eventually was capable, but I will NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN!!!!!!! Horrible management. Plumbers should go elsewhere as they are not making the best use of your time and I bet your income will be affected by that!!!!! DISPICAPBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

This company is immoral in behaviour - please refer to the Glassdoor reviews from former employees who reveal that the company's standard practice is to convince people to agree to hourly rates, and then require that operatives take an excessive amount of time to carry out jobs to make more money. Operatives are indeed told off if they take only a day on something which could have been stretched out. This is what happened to me - an extremely simple job was stretched out to 4 days, costing an astonishing £5,000. Money was stolen out of my account without my permission, to the extent my card was blocked. I asked Aspect to stop taking money which they agreed to verbally - but then carried on doing anyway. The operatives were painfully slow, we caught them taking calls, disappearing for hours, having excessively long smoking breaks. They went on four trips to get parts which they'd assured us they already had. The parts were charged plus 60% mark up. Another immoral action they are well known for is insisting that a simple job requires 2 or even 3 operatives, doubling or even trebling the financial cost, when one operative could easily have done the job. They use all these tricks to make money from nothing, fleecing innocent customers. We all need to stand up to this immoral company. read more

KEEP WELL AWAY FROM THIS LOT! Took £528 from my account for a leak detection job that was not completed. Aspect now ignoring my calls and emails after I sent them a full report and cctv footage of their so-called engineer lying and telling me that I needed a new boiler and further recordings of him admitting that he had lied about the boiler. He also wanted to come back with another engineer and spend another full day doing further "investigations". He kept talking to himself, shouting and swearing whilst he was working, as well as spending time in his van smoking and on his mobile phone. Another engineer found the leak and was able to repair it in a couple of hours. I have yet to receive a report or even see an invoice for all the money they have taken. When you call them they take your credit card details, and my credit card company advised me that they actually set up a "continuous payment transaction" which means that they can take money whenever they want. An abysmal service I would not wish on anyone. An abysmal service I would not wish on anyone including the following: Unauthorised deductions taken from my wife's credit card - outrageous. They still have unauthorised monies! Being late and then charging us the later hourly rate - irony is dead; Zero customer service - no-one calling us back. Hiding behind obscurant t and c's 5-6 odd hours and £900 later not finding the leak with the plodder they used. The decent plumber we used afterwards found it within an hour and a half! NOT turning up at 8am. Being told they were a few minutes away, No one at our house by 9.30am. Giving us a 4 hour window for a manager to come round - we work. What is he going to do anyway? It is all a run around. Disgracefully being put on hold to a scheduling department when the plumber had not turned up by nine. Basically they do not care. They just want your money. Push you from pillar to post. They are good at three things - fobbing off, being late and putting you on hold. I asked them to refund our money : they will not. I will sue them now. read more

Avoid at all cost!!!! Wish there was a button for negative stars. Wish I had read the reviews about this company before I called them. One engineer arrived on site and claimed he could not do the job without a colleague who was conveniently 15 minutes away. Because of the pressure of the machine to use the water to flush the pipe (which one person from a different company was able to use when the issue recurred shortly after). They falsified their time on site that they invoiced for, charged for over £180 to put some drain solution down the toilets - two little bottles that barely had anything in them. The job was to clear 4 toilets (3 children's toilets and one adult toilet) on 9 metres (about 9 big steps if you stretch your legs) of pipe that became blocked due to flatness of pipe. Original person charged £552 for his time and colleague charged £418.80 for his time - so a total of £970.80 for clear 9 metres pipe. Even though we have CCTV which clearly showed that they falsified their time, took an hour lunch break each off-site, and wasted time sitting in their vans on their mobiles phones and reading a book, etc and we presented all the information to the company they have done nothing about it. From the reviews it would appear that this is something that they do regularly. Avoid at all cost.!!! They rely on the fact that people get tired/frustrated or are too busy to follow-up properly with the courts to continue overcharging for services. read more

Our boiler started playing up and after investigation by an engineer from boiler service company, we were told it is probably due to the leak under the floor. Found this company and booked them. Engineer showed up just after 8am and started his investigations. The work was carried up very slowly, specialist taking his time. Using the infrared camera he has discovered a patch under the floor but said it is due to the air circulation in the small room it was detected. He continued with the work draining system, bleeding radiators very very slowly finishing just before 5pm. He would have continued longer but we needed to leave home. The company charges you per hour so we ended up with the bill over £1300and the "specialists said it is boiler's fault and there is no leak. A few days later we woken up to downstairs full of water, flooded neighbours. Asked another company to come and fix it and surprise surprise -leak was exactly where the aspect engineer has ignored the patch of heat. Upon contacting Aspect i had a general reply saying basically not their fault. The other company we have hired known of Aspect and said it is not the first time they heard about problems with them. Avoid - they don't know what they're doing and are very expensive. The other company we hired to do the leak investigation quoted us for all the work upfront for £650 read more

Do not use this company! The engineers will work slow, and stall the job in order to charge you more... An engineer came to switch an oven over. He was painfully slow, walking back and forth to the gas meter like a snail. The job was done in about 40 minutes (and quite honestly could have been done in much less) but he filled out the paperwork after so slowly and stood there on his phone in my kitchen for about 15-20 minutes. Since the company charge you £50 for half an hour, I realised what he was doing and asked why he was standing there. So when he thought enough time had gone past the hour (around 10 mins), of course he announced he was charging for an extra half hour (so total £150). Shocking! And in this time, he'd drunk a cup of tea I made him. Despite this, the company continued to take £150 from my account without my approval and have ignored all my requests by email and telephone to give me back my £50. I've never felt so angry at a company! Utter day light robbery. I will never be using Aspect again and will advise you not to as well. Most expensive cup of tea I ever made... read more

Aspect Maintenance Services Limited, E7 Barwell Business Park, Leatherhead Road, Chessington, London, KT9 2NYAspect They are a complete ripoff they spent hours doing nothing knowing that they get paid and knowing that there was no way to fix the leak anyway It is a complete ripoff. It's a scam from start to finish. I asked them to come and detect a leak in my central heating which made the boiler pressure dropped down to zero every 24 hours or so. I explained to them that i have tried everything else. no one could find the leak as it is an old concrete flooring. They said they could spot anything up to %99. No matter what the floor was. They charged me over £1000 for 6 hours for a job that they knew from the start they couldn't do. I was so stupid to believe them when they said they could detect any leak. No matter the floor. After 3 hours of doing nothing just waiting for draining the water out of the system they inserted gas onto the pipes claiming that their machine would read any leak now. After another 3 hours pretending to detect a leak of gas through the hand held monitor they said that they needed two engineers to work at the same time and they needed two capsules of gas. It was whole a big scam pretending that they are doing something whereas from the beginning they knew an old flat with old pipes underneath a concrete floor it is very unlikely they found any thing. The engineer blamed the membrane under the concrete. They should have known what to deal with. They charged me near £200 for spare parts. I don't know what parts they used. He never told me about replacing or using any parts. They are cheat. Never ever use them. I am happy to share my experience with other people. They are cheating and thriving on your desperation. When I called next day to complain they said that i had no option but to get two people booked and paid £1000 a day for each engineer for as long as it takes and the guy hung up on me. Stay away from this company they are a farce and will steal your money! In order to book with them you will need to give them your credit card details over the phone before the engineer attends the site. They promise you a time slot for their engineer arrival but they do not fulfil their promise. Their engineer arrived 5 hours later than the time slot they promised. Their engineer did not solve the problem he was meant to. Not only he did not fix the issue, but also gave us a wrong advice and tried to rush us into commit to a full day job. Job that would have not fixed the issue which was confirmed by another electrician we had to call on Monday. Their engineer was on site for 1.5 hour but they charged us for 2.5 hour. We have been trying to solve the issue of the overcharge with them for over six weeks. Each time you call them they give a new version - a very skilled staff of story tellers. We got lies after lies since we started this horrendous path with Aspect. Be also aware that they will charge you according their van tracker and the length of time the van is parked outside on the road of your property, not the length of time the engineer spends in your house. The engineer was inside for 1.5 hours but as he left his van parked for longer they ended charge you 2.5 hours. This was not publicised in their website nor was been told to us, A real legalised scam. They will not fix your issue, they will overcharge you and you will end up stressed, exhausted and very disappointed. For your sake stay from this company they are a farce and they will steal your money. read more

I wanted a serious company to sort out a leak from the shower, and opted for Aspect. Even before they sent someone, I had to give them my credit card details, which was odd. They sent a guy who seemed nice and honest, and somehow convinced me (yes, I am that stupid) to pay £ 3000 for redoing three plaster walls, putting new tiles and resealing the tray (which we did only partially). The job took like 15 hours and after it was done and paid for, it dawned on me: I paid £ 3000 for this?? I spent days dealing with the imense guilt of having accepted this price - and with the anger. How could someone charge that amount knowing exactly the work he was going to do? It was just immoral, dishonest and deceitful. read more

Further to my last posting, William Davies, Managing Director of Aspect Maintenance contacted me by phone and offered me.........a payoff - some money back (but not full compensation for all my expenses, time wasted and aggravation caused by Aspect's appalling work), in return for removing my bad reviews - so, more of a self-serving bribe than an upstanding, remorseful apology! I am not surprised by his unscrupulous behaviour. I felt completely ripped-off by Aspect when my independent contractor took less than a day (costing £240 at current rates) to do, more or less, the same work that two of Aspect's men spent two doing (costing £1920 at current rates) a whopping difference of £1680!!!! I thought I was paying for quality when I appointed Aspect at £80 per hour, but the truth came out during the court process, when I was informed that the workmen only cost £20 per hour (which possibly explains why they were so inept). In future, I will always use a reputable independent workman, where you pay for what you get and are dealing directly with the person doing the work. If for any reason, you still are considering Aspect Maintenance, I would strongly advise you to take lots of photographs (before, during and after your work), correspond in writing, get a breakdown of prices on your quote and an estimate of how long each part will take, get a third party to check the work if possible (to ensure that building regulations are complied with and that you haven't been ripped off) and do not pay until you are completely satisfied with the work. If you have any problems, contact Consumer Direct for advice. read more

This company will rip you off. Called out at about £170 per hour (!!!) for drain and drain pump fixing. 5 minutes after it was all fixed and the plumber had left the pump stopped pumping. We called back to say it had been fixed inadequately could he return. Aspect said we would only have to pay if the problem was a different problem. The plumber, Andrew, agreed the pump wasn't working on arrival. Said he didn't know why. Called the supplier of the pump and they told him it had not been put back together again properly (by him!) He fixed it and now it works. We have had no issues since. Aspect are lying to me and saying I called them out when it was working and so have to pay. Very dishonest company. We needed an electrician for an emergency situation. We told them what was needed before he was sent out. The guy came out looked over our fuse box , looked absolutely confused as to what to do. I was immediately uncomfortable having this confused person work on what was an already dangerous situation. He explained how he couldn't do the work because it was very complicated and he even needed a handyman to dig up the front garden. After 10mins I took him out of his misery and asked for a quote. The so called electrician then spends the next hour and ten minutes typing up a quote. I got tired of having him in my house doing nothing, so I asked if he was done with the quote and if I could have it. He said to me the office now have the scope of works and they will send me the complete quote. They proceed to still bill me for a whole hour plus VAT (£133) even though he had decided 10mins in he couldn't do the work. We waited a couple of days for the quote, heard nothing back and decided to try another company. We called Barton electrical services, they send someone out the next day and their electrician fixes the problem within 10mins and charges us way less (£90) than dodgy Aspect did for a quote we did not receive. Update - Aspect called with the quote a week later. They would do the job for £1,400 + VAT!!! This is for the same job we'd already had Barton complete for £90! Use aspect if you want to get ripped off is all I have to say about my experience with them. They also obviously send out unqualified people to do electrical work cos how a so called electrician gets it so wrong is beyond me. read more

I was absolutely disappointed with their service and charges. First of all, the engineer they sent was totally untrustworthy. He marked up the price for the materials by 100%. I have looked up the prices for the identical materials with four different vendors and found that actual prices (inc VAT) are half of what he has quoted. Second thing, the engineer did not fully fix the problem. I can't believe they charged me £1100 for an unfinished job. Also, they charge me £137.5 for peak hour rates and £140 for non-peak hours, which makes no sense. I felt like I was completely ripped off. read more

Dont use Aspect Maintenance!! These guys are so called 'professionals' in plumbing and other home maintenance services. They have two rates: £45 (not including VAT) before 5pm and then £52 (not including VAT) for jobs after. Every time you call, its strange how they can only book jobs for just around 5pm. Even if they promise a morning appointment, dont be surprised to find the plumber turning up much later without prior notice. Which means you're paying the higher fare. The plumber sent will waste so much time trying to figure out the 'problem' regardless of the scale. In my case, after spending a few hours in my home, he ended up turning a SINGLE valve and then leaving. Something I could have done myself. Finally, Aspect Maintenance's plumber promised to fix yet another valve in ten minutes. If a job goes even a minute over the 30 minute mark, you will be charged for an hour. This job did and I was charged as such. To add insult to injury, the next day the valve "repaired" by Aspect Maintenace was still broken. So basically with Aspect Maintenance, you can get charged for a job that is not done, at a rate not agreed, at a time not agreed. A simple search on google reveals others customers they have angered in the past. Dont even bother using them. read more

Avoid them if you don't want be ripped off!!! They charge you every minute also when they have to go to get a spare part (It always happen) . After 2 hours we have been charged more than 200 Pounds only for an investigation which was useless as they did not even find out what was the problem!!!! read more

Aspect painted the exterior masonry of my house last year and suggested I needed works done on my roof, which was functioning perfectly well at that point, but they said it was preventative work. I agreed. A few months later, there were terrible leaks in the house right under the work they had done. I contacted them to ask them to remedy this. Their own builders confirmed that the work on the roofing was the problem, but not only did they take over £1000 from my debit card (on file) without my permission to fix the problems they created, they refused to refund the money or fix the leak and it's subsequent damage inside. I spent two months trying to reason with them and come to an amicable resolution. Ultimately, they refused to answer my emails or phone calls and didn't even try to sort out the mess they had made. Disgusting, unprofessional behaviour. Do not use this company. read more

A plumber came around to perform an emergency fix on my boiler, did nothing for the time I was charged, which was fair enough as he told me that he needed to buy a part to carry out a repair which I was told may not work and that ultimately the entire boiler may need to be replaced. Given the quote provided, I decided to get another opinion and the other firm not only fixed the problem in 2 hours by performing a completely different repair to the one the Aspects plumber told me was needed, but also for a very small price in comparison to the Aspects quote. I feel ripped off by this company and would not recommend them to anyone. read more

Our tenant called out Aspect to fix a leak from behind a washing machine last October. It wasn't fixed by their plumber and the leak went on to damage the surrounding floor. It's now August and despite admitting they are at fault and promising to fix the floor, the company has not done so, or refunded the original call out fee. They also charged our tenant a (very high) fee for a second remedial visit and only refunded it after we complained. The customer service team rarely respond to emails and do not seem to pick up the phone. We are having to take them to the Small Claims Court and they are saying they will defend the whole claim. To say we're disappointed in this company is an understatement. read more

Finding a good plumber in London is more difficult to find a good spouse or partner. Perhaps many people would agree with me Since 2008, I have used this company 4 times. My boiler installed in 1995 was still ok in 2008 but my plumber became old and nearing his retirement. His son plumber was still young and inexperienced. So, I decided to change the boiler and the plumber. I tapped various plumbers but it appeared that my boiler feeding 4 floors looked beyond an usual domestic capacity. Also, the original installation was conducted by a genius French engineer and my retired plumber, a very complicated unique design of water system. I gave a try on this company. Aspect took 5 days including a quality assurance inspection to remove and install a brand-new powerful energy efficiency boiler. I found the price very reasonable. And the boiler works very well up to the top floor. In 2010, I had to move a radiator by 4 inches in order to install my bespoke designed furniture. Relocating a radiator (repiping) is a very small job that any plumbing company wishes to avoid. But here is Aspect. They did it again at a reasonable price. Last year I had to change pumps of the boiler as a unlawful scaffolders vandalised my property and put a garden cart to shut the exhaust of my boiler. Of course, the boiler stopped as the pumps collapsed. Ok, Aspect again. They sorted out very quickly. One thing which is good with them is that they are highly responsive and the work is professional. If you have your own local plumber (as I used to) you wouldn't need Aspect. If you have a large project that requires a design and install type job, you shouldn't use this company as it would be costly. However, if you have nearly identified the problem, this company would be a value for money as they are quick and professional. read more

I have had four/five services from Aspect. A CCTV drain inspection. The guy turned up on time. He did the job. I didn't get the report until 2 weeks later. An electrics inspection. The first appointment the guy didn't turn up, I wasn't informed that the guy wasn't going to be able to make it until three to four hours after the time which he was supposed to turn up. The second appointment, the guy turned up, a bit late, but his machine for measuring the circuits didn't work, so he couldn't complete the job. He overcharged me on the time, I decided to sign because I just wanted the job done, and felt that any contestation on my part might compromise this. Nevetheless at this point I asked to speak to someone in authority to relay my dissapointment. I was promised someone would contact me, they didn't. The third appointment, a new electrician turned, up a little late, he did the job. A few days later I got a call from Aspect informing me that I had yet to reschedule my appointment for the electrician. I had to explain to them that it had already happened. Several days later I had to explain this to another person from Aspect's call centre, who seemed to think the job had been done on the second visit. The electrician who did the job said I'd get the report within 5-7 working days. I got a copy of the report, which did not have the approval of the Head of Electrics, after 8 working days, after having made some effort to get it myself. The people that I spoke to, in an attempt to find out when I was going to get the report, seemed a little annoyed, as if they were sick of talking to demanding customers. I had a gas inspection, the guy turned up on time, did the job and went. Good service here. I've had a gas heating assesor turn up, early, which isn't a problem, and do a prompt assessment, with a quick and detailed quote arriving a few days later. Excellent. I've asked for references, from the person who sent me the quotation, but have had no response, after three to four days. If I don't get any references to talk to, the job will go to another heating engineer, so the good work done by the assesor will count for nothing. I asked Aspect if they could do some work on the guttering and roofing, they took my details, but never got back to me. When I'm on hold I'm told over and over again that Aspect are second to none, and are always looking to improve. There have been times when I thought Aspect were second to none, but that's when I felt it couldn't get any worse. Though it appears that some individuals do work effectively, I don't really think that the culture and ethic of customer focused work, and continuous improvement is ingrained in the attitude and organisation of Aspect. I think the claims Aspect make are more wishful thinking. I don't mind when things don't always go according to plan. But what I do want is people who will clearly communicate with me when things aren't going to plan, and genuinely care and put themselves in the shoes of the customer. At times I feel like the customer seems to get lost in the Aspect system, and at others there are staff who turn a blind eye to bad service, and fail to take responsibility for addressing it. Its a shame because I do like the idea of a one stop service like Aspect, and I wouldn't mind paying a little extra for the guarantee of a good service, but Aspect haven't delivered that. read more

DO NOT GO NEAR THESE PEOPLE! Absolute rip off merchants! Came to fit security grilles, unable to do so as did not have correct drill bit, but left unfinished drilled hole above my patio door. Also removed two miniscule pieces of skirting (in order to fit the security grille that was not fitted) and filled the holes he found with foam, please note that I did not request that the holes be filled but then proceeded to leave skirting area open and unfinished! Thanks!!! After having spent the best part of an hour trying to work out how the grilles should be fitted! NOTE-I was being charged for that hour by the way. Have just received a very vague job report which tells me that 'Expenses Materials foam/silicone quantity equals quantity 1. Expenses???When I queried the final payment amount that they were requesting by email and requested a proper invoice prior to the payment, given that I was disputing the amount, this is what I was told via email, ."The email sent to you previously was not an invoice but rather the engineer's job report. This was sent to inform you of the works carried out and the amount to be charged to your card prior to us processing this payment. Please see a breakdown of the charges below: 1 hour labour: £55 + vat Materials used (expanding foam and silicone): £6 + vat Total: £61 + vat (£73.20 incl. vat) Please note that as per our terms and conditions payment is processed from the card details provided at the time of booking on completion of the works unless payment is received onsite by an alternative method (i.e. cash or cheque). The previous email sent to you was sent as a courtesy email before we processed payment from the card details provided. I will however make an exception in this case and send you the invoice prior to taking payment. This will be sent to you shortly once it has been produced. Kind regards.." So, I am being charged extra for the miniscule amount of foam that was used to fill the holes, as well as the fact that my living room has been left in a worse state than it was when the contractor arrived. Fortunately, I took pictures before, during and after the 'workman' came to do this supposed work, so I have clear evidence of what it looked like before, during and after the 'work' done by the 'workman.' Will let you know how I get on. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please note that I have pitched the price bar at 'pricey' but only because there isn't one that says 'extortionate!' Would like to have given a no star rating but for reasons best know to themselves, Aspect.co.uk, do not allow their customers this option. Have now sent further email repeating my dispute with regard to the suggested payment amount, particularly the materials (?) plus vat charge! Have also (again) politely requested that they refrain from taking the suggested amount from my account whilst I am in dispute about the said suggested amount we'll see what happens. read more

Im writing this letter of complaint, of the bad service i have received from this company.I called in aspect trying to avoid cowboy traders, but that is exactly what i got.. The first job, the engineer came in and looked at my boiler and fiddled around with it for 20mins and told me that i needed some parts, he didn't even take a bolt of and they charged me a full peek hour..which was £132.00 The second time he came he changed the Control board & temperature sensors and got it to work. when he waited for the cylinder to fill up he found a leak, and told me that the cylinder was cold due to not having hot water for a couple of days and when hot water came flooding in, it expanded the cylinder and caused it to leak.. when i asked my own engineer he told me this was a load of rubbish, and said that he may of damaged it himself. this job cost over £500 He then came up with an idea to stop the leak by changing a damaged 22mil compression elbow. What he did next still amazes me.. he saw it off, and connected it with a new 22 mil flexible tap connector pipe.?? What a job ay?this job cost over 300 2days later..the boiler stopped working again, and had to call them back, they told me that If the problem is related to their workmanship the call will not be chargeable. If, however, the problem is unrelated to their workmanship this call will be chargeable. and guess what, they charged me. I decided to get the job that they done looked at, so i called in my own engineer, i later found out that aspect's engineers connected my boiler in a way that by-passed my timer which made my boiler work 24h..? now how dangerous is that? And how about my electric bill? and its STILL leaking!..my engineer has quoted me £1500 for a new boiler, aspect quoted me just over £1000 for just that job, madness today im still getting letters that im owning money..I was even told that i would get a 20% off my invoice due to the lack of service, still haven't seen that yet.. they send you countless invoices with different figures , different jobs with vat & then without..i would of thought they would send you one invoice for that one entire job? so it get very confusing how much they are actually paying You guys are disgraceful and just as bad as them fat mens ripping off granny's I have been told I am a liar by your customer services team and they threatened to check the call recording..I said yes please do check. They have never followed by my request. That is the only way this will be resolved. I have contacted trading standards who will be in contact directly ANYONE READING THISPLEASE PLEASSE PLEASE AVOID!!!! RIP OFF, SCAMMED, COWBOYS!! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! read more

BEWARE OF EXTRA UNEXPLAINED CHARGES I would never use again! I used their handyman servies approx one year ago and was very pleased. They guy they sent was excellent and did a great job. Bill came to around £250-300. Fine for the work done. No complaints. Got another handyman recently and he was decent enough. He didnt' do as good of a job as the first (e.g., hung pictures without double checking their placement with me I thought they were hung too high, but then it was too late), but I still would use their services again. And then I got the bill. Hourly rate came to around £250 again which was fine and accurate and I was happy to pay. But then there was some unexplained £31 + VAT for supplies. The only supplies the guy used were 8 ordinary screws and two bits of what looked like scrap wood maybe 1in x 1in x 12in, certainly nothing special. I contacted aspect to get detail (and followed up as it went unanswered the first go round) and was told they'd knock £10 off (no explanation given). I still thought this was way too high for what was actually used. They finally agreed to charge me £15 + VAT explained they ordinarily charge a mark up on supplies, but in my case they would only charge me actual cost. After I stopped laughing at that farce, I ended up just paying the thing cause they clearly were digging in, even though there is no way actual cost is anywhere near that price. I've been to B&Q and don't live under a rock, those bits and pieces were worth maybe £3 retail. Give me a break! What bugs me about this is not the amount of money, but the feeling of knowing I'm being scammed. I don't care if it's a small con, a con is a con in my book. It'll probably prove to be a fatal business practice for aspect as I know I won't use them again. It's ludicrous to lose a repeat customer cause your'e trying to squeeze them for a few extra pounds. The sensible thing to do would be to remove the charges after I complained (even more sensible not to charge for essentially nothing in the first place). Had this been the case, I would have used them again. As it stands, I'll take my business elsewhere. I recommend you do the same. Once a con artist, always a con artist. Buyer beware!!! read more

Booked an Electrician to fix a lighting and a socket problem. I phoned the company after my husband got the number from the internet it was the first number that came up with a google search for electricians in north London. I booked an appointment in the morning at around 9am and was given a window of between 11am and 1pm on the same day, to my relief. The woman on the phone was very helpful and informative and easily understood. She told me to expect one electrician and that the price would be a minimum of £90 for an hour and £45 per half hour thereafter. Pretty standard rates from past experience. I was plesantly surprised when Michael arrived at about 12pm, well prepared and quick to start work. I'd already given a brief description of the work needed over the phone that morning. He managed to get the work done quickly and was happy to explain what he was doing as he went along (I had a few questions as to what had gone wrong). During his visit, he had to replace one dimmer switch which was broken and he had the parts to do so, with him. He told me the price of the part (which was competitive) and my options for replacing it before asking my permission to fit it. I was happy for him to change it there and then as it was more convenient for me. When he'd finished, he wanted to clean up after himself but I told him not to bother as the place was a mess anyway as we were having other work done at the same time. Michael told me the invoice would be sent to my email address and that if I didn't have the cash or a cheque on me to pay him, the money would be debited from my account using the details that I'd given over the phone that morning. All in all, a no hassel, efficient job performed by a well informed, pleasant chap. I will be booking with aspect.co.uk again in the future if needed and I would be happy to recommend them to friends. It's a shame that they've received such damning reviews previously from other areas of the company (plumbing/roofing) and for their electricians but from my own experience, they get 5 stars. read more

I required an urgent boiler repair and contacted this company at 3pm as they came up first in a google search. I told them I needed an appointment before 7pm that day. At the time I said I was concerned that the boiler manufacturer may insist on me using the installing engineer to keep the warranty valid (he wasn't available at the time of calling). I explained all this over the phone, concerned about cancellation fees and the phone operative said that the best things would be to make an appointment with them anyway and the engineer would call me before arriving and I could just advise then whether I needed them to attend. Grateful for and somewhat surprised at their flexibility I agreed. In the end I didn't need the engineer and the call out was cancelled. End of story. Should be end of story, but since then they have been harassing me for payment of a cancellation charge. Hang on?! I am not normally the type of person to complain and as a small business owner I really understand the need to have cancellation charges for time wasters. But the fact is I checked with them explicitly! I would not have booked the appointment had they not reassured me. I feel duped. They keep telling me they record their calls so they can verify exactly what was said to me. Good! Please check your phone recordings so you can verify what I am telling you. This is the perfect example of why customers should be protected by having the calls recorded. The company continues to call me a liar citing some fine print in a confirmation email. They either can't or won't find the call recording. I feel harassed and sick of being made out to be a liar. I wouldn't recommend these guys based on my experience. I can't comment on their price or quality of engineering services but their customer services are appalling. read more

Very poor service. Please take 2 minutes to read this, unless you like to have your time and money wasted by a poorly organised company: Our shower door was broken. Damien Trehy from Aspect came round to give us an estimate. He spent 10 minutes in the house, during which time he told us several times that we would NOT be charged for the estimate there that day, and then spent a further 30 minutes outside in the road getting an estimate for us. He left without giving us an estimate. That was 15th September. Aspect sent us an estimate NINE DAYS LATER (24th September) for £382! (During that 9 day wait we had the shower door fixed for £80). We were also charged £126 for the 10 minutes Damien Trehy spent in our house NOT giving us an estimate. Even after he told us numerous times that we would NOT be charged for his estimate there. When the invoice arrived it said that he was on site for 45 minutes! I wrote 4 e-mails in total to: Ana Antonio, Daniel Newton and the Invoicing department. No-one responded. I called 22nd October and spoke to Harry in customer service who was unable to put me through to accounts. I told him very strongly the problems I was having and he assured me I would be called back. I asked him when and he couldn't say. It's now a week later and no-one has called me back nor e-mailed. In summary: took up our time, lied to us about cost, took 9 days to give us an estimate, charged us £126 for 10 minutes of totally unproductive 'estimating', estimated an extortionate sum, took up hours of chasing them and never responded to any messages. This company does not care about its customers. I wish I had read the online reviews (yelp) first that I have since seen. Unfortunately they are far worse stories than this one. Please shop around further. read more

I recently saw someone from Aspect Maintenance on the television bemoaning their inability to get credit to expand their business and was horrified at the prospect of them being able to do this. The incident that I had with them was a number of years ago but I wanted to add my voice to all the warnings about this company. The problem that I had was with my boiler (a Keston) which had packed up. Being new to the area where I lived I found aspect on the internet and had them send an engineer round. The engineer himself said he knew nothing about Kestons but that he would give it a go which he proceeded to do taking 2 visits to have said go. I wish I had followed my instinct to tell him to leave and that I'd cal someone else but my mistake was to let him try. Needless to say the didn't fix the problem as he diagnosed the wrong issue and I ended up having to call Keston themselves to send an engineer round to fix what he had done. Regardless of this, an invoice duly arrived from aspect for around £300 which I put to one side and due to a serious family illness forgot about dealing with. They started calling and I explained that I didn't think I should pay for the reasons above but they were having none of it and sent a bailiff notice round saying that if I didn't pay within a certain period then the bailiffs would come in. At this point the family illness was so severe that I just paid it instead of risking the bailiffs and I had no appetite for a court case at that time. Anyway, every time I see one of their vans I get a sick feeling in my stomach to me this firm is nothing short of cowboys and bullies and I hope that this warning tale deters others from making the same mistake I did. read more

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. If I could give 0 stars, that would be too many. Not only did Aspect not do the promised work, they actually made my day far worse than if I had never contacted them. To begin, the engineer had been sent from the diametrically opposite side of London and so was 3 hours late. Despite email confirmation well in advance that he would be arriving with certain parts (re-verified by Aspect's own review of the relevant call records), he was never told this and had nothing, so absolutely no work could be done. This was entirely the fault of the Aspect booking team and call centre. Aspect's call centre staff and management took no responsibility for this total shambles and waste of my entire day off work, offering at most a 10% discount when the intelligent response would have been an offer to do the work for free at my convenience to retain even the semblance of goodwill. Despite promises of a call from senior management, the first further contact I have had since Monday 15 July is a request for feedback today, 19 September. So here it is, and on their website too (where of course it will not be published). All in all, atrocious work from Aspect, and I shall not be shy in saying so to family, friends and the thousands of people that work in my office. By way of contrast, Silver Saints were on time, professional, friendly, followed the agreed work plan, helpfully suggested a couple of cheap and effective fixes for unrelated issues and charged considerably less. They deserve your business. read more

SO THAT YOU ARE ALL AWARE YOU CAN ALSO LEAVE REVIEWS DIRECTLY ON THE ASPECT.CO.UK WEBSITE. IT NEEDS TO BE COMMUNICATED HOW BAD THEIR SERVICE REALLY IS BEFORE MORE PEOPLE ARE EFFECTED!!! I QUESTION THE AUTHENTICITY OF THE POSITIVE REVIEWS HERE, EVERYONE I HAVE SPOKEN TO HAS BEEN BADLY EFFECTED BY ASPECT AND THEIR POOR SERVICE I had aspect carry out several small jobs which were expensive but fine, I then requested a job to repair a faulty roller shutter in my flat. The 'engineers' literally destroyed the casing which the shutter was cased in as well as the curtains, they left the job looking as though a bomb had gone off. It is incomprehensible how a so called tradesman could claim to be proud of his work when having left the job in such a terrible state. When intending to raise the issue with aspect I was IGNORED FOR MORE THAN ONE MONTH before anyone from aspect would speak to me, they never returned my calls, not even once. I called almost every day for one month asking to speak to customer services and not a sales rep who 'couldn't help'). Once I spoke to the head of windows and doors 'specialists', I was rudely called a liar and told to go away even after sending proof in the way of images both before and after the work was done. I wish I could upload the images on this site, it is shocking. I am currently pursuing legal advicemy advice to you is STAY AWAY..use trust a trader or rated people at least their feedback is genuine. read more

Oh, where do I even start with my delightful experience using 'Aspect' services? First off, I had the absolute pleasure of being overcharged by a mere £145. No big deal, right? And while I patiently awaited a response to my complaint, I was graced with an avalanche of emails and phone calls from their ever-so-dedicated Credit Control Team. Yes, even on Sundays! Because who doesn't love being harassed on their day off over an incorrectly invoiced bill of £294? Now, get this--apparently, having a worker spend 44 minutes at my house is worth two full hours of charges. Why? Because he forgot his ladder. That's right, he actually charged me for his little trip home to fetch it. How considerate! I spent countless hours trying to explain to this crack team that I was just waiting for the correct invoice before paying, but no, they kept the calls and emails coming like they were on some kind of mission. Honestly, it was such a stress-free experience--if you enjoy relentless harassment, that is. Finally, when I received the correct bill of £149, I thought, "Surely, they'll offer some sort of compensation for all this hassle." But silly me! Their version of 'compensation' was simply fixing their own mistake and sending me the right bill. How generous! It's comforting to know that in Aspect's world, correcting an error they made in the first place qualifies as a grand gesture of goodwill. What a joke! read more

I am buying a house and booked aspect to carry out a 'pre-purchase electrical report', to identify and problems with the electrics and any remedial work that will need doing. It was a pain from beginning to end and a complete waste of money. Aspect's call centre staff made a mistake with my booking, double-booking the engineer I needed to attend, which required me to have three subsequent telephone conversations with Aspect to sort it out and causing me all manner of hassle arranging to key collections with the estate agent. The engineer did not turn up until after 2pm to collect the key from the estate agent (even though it says 1.45 on the invoice). The 'pre-purchase' report I have received is a complete waste of money. I had to wait a week to get it and chase for it twice. Well, it wasn't worth the wait. It gives me no information about the electrics at the property at all, just recommends that Aspect do a further inspection for £260+VAT. The engineer spent 1 hour 45 minutes at the property (apparently) but he can't tell me anything else?! It is not a report at all, Aspect themselves call it an estimate. I feel Aspect have just used it as an opportunity to pitch for more work. I feel they have completely misrepresented their services and I have paid for something that I have not received. read more

I have used Aspect for Window repair and found them to be very unprofessional. I clearly asked while booking a call if they would charge for one hour even if their engineer took ten minutes. They were quite clear that total charge would be for entire job and the charge for pre booked one hour would be asbsorbed in it. I booked the job, they came to fix my windows and surprise ! the engineer claimed that the fix that was suggested by the engineer who visited us for estimate was wrong and now we got to do something else as well i.e pay more money to Aspect ! Plus they charged us 102 pounds for 10 minutes visit despite having told me otherwise. Repeated calls to Aspect including to John Black, head of Windows went unanswered. John Black is a great example of rubbish customer service he never responds to emails, never returns calls and simply keeps avoiding you ! Plus the finance team repeatedly call and ask you why are you avoiding payments ! Adele from Finance was insulting and rude. No sign of award winning service that Aspect proudly proclaims . Also repeated requests to John Black /finance for someone to look into my complaints went unanswered. Aspect is totally unprofessional and I would caution anyone against using them. Crazy prices, poor attitude and too cocky to care about customers ! read more

I recently called out an Aspect engineer to get a quote to fix a leaking pipe (that they had already repaired three months earlier) and a dripping tap. I went through the work with the engineer and got a pretty good idea of the cost of materials and time required. When the one line quote arrived, it was more than 50% higher than I had been led to expect. When I explained this and asked for more detail, I received a two line breakdown of the quote (time and parts). When I queried this further on the phone to ask how much the individual parts were costing, they were obviously making up the numbers as they went along as they kept changing the prices so that they had to add up to their earlier total. By the end of the call they were quoting me £45 for a pair of tab cartridges (normally £20) and justifying it by saying that they only fitted the best and hence it cost more. The call ended with the service rep, by this time all over the place with his numbers, saying he would speak to the engineer to get clarification and then call me back. Not surprisingly he never did! Total bunch of cowboys! And I still have to fork out for the repair of the leaking pipe that they bodged the first time. read more

I have just had a bathroom installed by aspect.co.uk and found them hugely impressive from start to finish. We were recommended to them by a friend so called to book in an estimate and found the people in the call centre both pleasant and knowledgeable. The chap came round a couple of days later and talked us through our options and made a number of suggestions that some of which we liked and went with and some were beyond our budget so we made that clear. Our estimate arrived 2 hours after he walked out the door! Apparently his notes are sent electronically back to a team in the office who then turn it into a formal quote which is emailed to us along with a brochure and some suggestions on fixtures and fittings. We went back with a few questions that were quickly answered so we accepted and booked them in to start the following Monday. 10 days later I was standing in my super plush bathroom and couldn't be happier. I am not usually one to spend time leaving reviews, but these guys deserved it (the link was sent to me as part of the invoicing process - they even made the review part straightforward!). read more

NIGHTMARE! For gods sake use Dynorod instead. Firstly ASPECT came on the wrong day but charged me a callout anyway. Then the guy came but his jet wash was broken. They charged me anyway. Thirdly, a guy came at the wrong time when were were open to the public. They charged me. (I had explained the times to 3 different people). Finally a guy came and as far as I was concerned, he jetted the pipes, charged me and all was well. £320 was taken from my card and after A LOT of phone calls and emails, they credited some back, but not as much as I expected. Today I see my toilets are not unblocked at all. The water levels are rising in the toilets. I phoned Aspect. APPARENTLY they have left messages (on a phone number with no voicemail) to tell me the 'Engineer' couldn't unblock the pipes but needed a camera. He didn't find it necessary to tell any of my staff on site. He just said goodbye and left. If they come back with a camera, it's another £162. Dynorod charge £150, they supply TWO MEN AND A CAMERA as standard. DO NOT USE ASPECT. IT'S A LICENCE TO PRINT MONEY read more

Rang them because our Saniflo macerator pump wasn't working, told them that on the phone. They sent out a plumber who spent time undoing the exit pipe, did god knows what else and then said it is a problem with the Saniflo and you need to get a Saniflo engineer in. We did this and the Saniflo guy in 2 seconds said any trained plumber would have known the problem was with the pump, should have told us to call Saniflo and walked out the door. End result, paid twice to have the same job done. We told Aspect this and asked for a refund. They insisted that once they attend any job they get to charge the customer, whether they fix the problem or not (and seemingly regardless of whether they ever should have tried to fix the problem). After half a dozen fairly terse emails they offered a partial refund by which time I said they could keep their money and I would rather spread the word of this approach. This happened once before with our boiler too a few years back, use extreme caution and ensure they can deal with the problem before booking an Aspect engineer! read more

I contracted Aspect Maintenance to do some building and electrical work. They completely botched the job and caused damage to my property. I had an independent contractor review the work and he found that Aspect had left my property in a dangerous state and the work that had been done did not comply with building regulations. I therefore refused to pay for the botched work. In response, Aspect sent me numerous debt collecting letters and threats to take me to court. We finally went to court a couple of weeks ago. The Judge found that the work Aspect Maintenance had done was clearly substandard and not done with reasonable skill and care and that Aspect Maintenance were indisputably in breach of contract. The Judge found in my favour and awarded me money for my losses, legal fees and other court costs. So, my advice would be, don't use Aspect Maintenance, in my experience they charge high prices for unskilled, poor quality work, don't do the work correctly and then send intimidating letters demanding payment if you are an unhappy customer!! read more

Aspect came out to do two jobs fit a gas pipe to the cooker and a boiler service. The gas pipe to the cooker went well enough (well except them not having a part even though this is what we booked them for and charging me £54 to go to get the part from a shop 500 metres away which took 30 mins). The second part was a boiler service. They needed to do some work so it took longer and cost more than hoped but we could live with that as we appreciate that you just don't know what is needed until the job is surveyed. Unfortuanately despite charging over £500 for the work the boiler doesn't actually work. it makes terrible noises, water drips from it and we can't shut it off. The boiler is worse for having the service done. we have called and called to get some help but they don't seem interested at all. We are probably going to have to pay for a new boiler to be fitted now. Wouldn't use again. Follow up they now say that we should have replaced the boiler but only after charging us £600 to fix (and it still isn't fixed)! Terrible! read more

Had an engineer over to check the boiler as it had been leaking with water ingress in periods of heavy rain and I occasionally smelt gas. Engineer stayed for a full hour before saying the water ingress was normal in heavy rain and wind. Just before the hour was up, he decided that the seal on the boiler was faulty and needed replacing. This was the first he had mentioned this. I asked him how much it would be to replace, he said whatever it was Aspect would charge a 60% mark-up on the cost and I should get him to sort the issue privately and he would charge me cost. He said it would take 1.5-2 hours with the materials on top. The materials cost £28. This meant it would cost me £230 including materials to get him to sort it privately. I agreed, because he said if I didn't get it done he would isolate the boiler. He came the next day, completed the job in 20 mins and took the entire £230. This was on top of the initial call out fee of £95 plus VAT for the initial visit. Total rip off. read more
