When I called to schedule the appointment with his office in February his receptionist made no mention that he would not be available and that I would be meeting with someone else. When I arrived at the office, I waited 30+ minutes and inquired as to whether I should reschedule. A lady came out to say that she would just be two more minutes. I thought that she was the client. When they were ready to see me, I was completely taken aback when told that I would be seeing Kim for my taxes. I'm not sure how complicated my taxes are but being in two different states with residencies in both, various jobs (W2, 1099), rental/owned units, it is important for me that my tax person is knowledgeable about my situation. I was completely unprepared to re-explain my situation. Kim asked NO questions and input numbers like a robot stating that she was all set based on last year's preparation. I have had several changes from last year and ended up owing about three times what I paid last year. In response to email inquiries, she stated that there were changes required and was dismissive. Please keep this in mind when scheduling with this company. I will be searching for a new provider next year and a company with higher level of integrity and transparency. For reference, I ended up paying Kim, $800 for my tax preparation and owed about $6000 after about 20 minutes of face to face time.

Review of service performed in 2014. Puneet Gangal personally consulted with my firm, delivering a…read morecurrent state report and recommendations for improvement. While our industry was not within his area of expertise, he had been recommended by an associate. The current state report was developed from employee interviews and data the company already owned. While it was nice to have a summary, there wasn't much of a value-add, unfortunately. There were known issues, primarily with a recent ERP migration, and we were looking for a way forward. The recommendations were delivered emphatically and, we thought, credibly. Turned out to be stunningly poor advice. The recommended solutions were costly and superficial, setting the organization back by at least two years, conservatively. In retrospect, the recommendations consisted of 1) conventional wisdom that could just as well have come from a quality hour with Google and 2) echoing back what the CEO already believed were the problems and solutions. For example, rather than call out the crippling lack of in-house expertise, the company was encouraged to--in effect--double down by engaging in still more complex, technical projects with even less in-house expertise. In fairness, one could say that the worst ideas may not have originated with Mr. Gangal. Then again, he did validate them. Personable guy, and maybe things would have been different if he'd been more familiar with our business or market.
