I had my wisdom teeth extracted in September 2025. The procedure itself went very well -- Dr. Kim was excellent and had one of the best bedside manners I've experienced. I felt comfortable throughout the process and was really happy with the care I received. Before the procedure, I was quoted my copay and paid the full amount upfront, totaling $640. About a month later, I received a bill for $2,340 for the same procedure, and none of the payment I had already made was reflected. After calling the billing department, I found out the issue was caused by an insurance filing error on their end. They submitted the claim only to my secondary insurance instead of processing it through my primary insurance first and then the secondary, as they were supposed to. I had already provided all of my insurance information before the procedure, but I provided it again and was told the issue would be corrected. Unfortunately, it has now been 8 months since the procedure and this still has not been resolved. I checked with my primary insurance and found out Aspen Dental finally submitted the claim to them in March 2026 -- six months after my procedure. However, they still have not submitted the claim to my secondary insurance as of today. I genuinely cannot think of any reasonable explanation for why it would take this many months to properly submit an insurance claim, especially when all information was provided in advance and again afterward upon request. At this point, it honestly feels like an attempt to push responsibility for a bill onto me that should have been processed correctly through insurance many months ago and after I had already paid my quoted portion upfront. While I truly appreciated Dr. Kim and the clinical care I received, the billing and insurance handling experience has been incredibly frustrating, stressful, and disappointing. read more

I've never been cancelled by a dental office 3 times in a month for lack of a dental hygienist? Also, the person greeting customers and answering phones knows nothing or completely disregards HIPPA as she loudly informed the waiting room full of people listening that I have gingivitis! How embarrassing! Yes, I complained but nothing was done. The dentist who worked on my teeth did a great job though the price was $$$ and completely out of pocket. The dental hygienist who travelled between offices was also very kind and did a fantastic job with the first part of the cleaning. There are some good competent people working at the office but the receptionist needs to learn some manners and more importantly needs to understand about the consequences of violating HIPPA. Also, 3 cancellations in a month is unacceptable. read more

Never got to see the dentist. per the front desk staff the "new dentist" is not competent enough to draft a new treatment plan if you've transferred from another location. This was my first and last time. There are a few things I really want to share with you. First, they didn't explain in detail why I had to pay them $50. I thought it was something I had to pay out of pocket because my insurance didn't cover it. Then, I learned that the $50 they paid, without me being told, was for a product they applied to my teeth. Actually, that product was useless to me and a complete scam. I told them I didn't need the service, and they told me they'd refund my money in two or three days. But they haven't, and it's been over 10 days. I just called my credit card company to cancel the payment. The second thing that really pissed me off was the cleaning. I can assure you, the guy who cleaned my teeth was not a professional. He was absolutely not a professional. It only took him about five minutes to complete the job. It was unbelievable. I regret not researching this dentist online before going. They have a fake rating on Google , and I believe it's all fake. Don't waste your money and time. read more

First of all, the staff is really slow and not very helpful to their customers. The young woman who sits at the front desk is not very knowledgeable about anything. She has to ask the staff that sits in the back for answers. The dental hygienist was nice, but I don't think he was all that experienced at his job. This dental office cares about making money over their patients care. The dental work they wanted me to have done was already done two years ago. A cleaning, yes, I get that one, but another crown and root canal. I don't think so. Take your money, teeth and your insurance and go elsewhere. This practice gives "chop shop" vibes. The office staff is very indifferent and unbothered. I took off 1/2 day from my job and drove 1 hour to the office only to get there and be told "We tried to contact you because the Dr.had to leave early today". I checked my phone for a voice message..... NOTHING and had to dig for an email in my junk mail. Yet you can send a text to confirm the visit but no text to see if I can reschedule. This was my last time making excuses for a place that hustles me like a used car salesman every visit. Since I took the day off for an appointment that never happened I've got nothing but time to look for a new family dentists. In this economy somebody will be happy to take my money and insurance. I would rather have my teeth rot out than go to any Aspen Dental ever again. It was a pleasant experience the first time - aside from the x-rays. Everyone was super friendly. But beware, they'll try to sell you things you don't need. They will ruin your teeth for money. I would give them 0 stars if I could. Edit: and the response below shows just how much they don't care. I had a root canal gone bad.within weeks crown cracked. Don't know what they did my mouth has been aching ever since...mind you I still have to pay off 3000. Scheduled 3 appointments at 3 different locations and each one was canceled. I scheduled online and when I call to ask why it was schedule, the office staff would say "our office close at 12, I am not sure how it allowed you to book for a later time." Very rude front desk staff, I was there months ago and was told they couldn't access my insurance, I called my insurance and they verified everything, I got appointment and kept calling them severally to confirm that they will accept my insurance and was told I do not have problem with that, I gave my details and my wife details which I'm under her insurance on getting to the office immediately I hand over my card to the girl she told me didn't I tell you we can't take your insurance? In a very rude way I was dumbfounded, like what is going on when I have been calling several times to confirm and I was told to come in. They even called to rescheduled my appointment. Today was my first experience with Aspen dental. I have no dental insurance and will be paying cash. I was able to get an appt quickly. The staff was very friendly. Didnt wait long for my appt. The dentist was very knowledgeable, friendly, and took his time with me. I was well pleased with my visit until it came time to check out. The dentist recommended a deep cleaning in addition to an implant (previous bone implantation for an implant) and a root canal (have had a dead tooth for over 30 yrs that doesnt bother me or have any problems with). The estimate was over $13K! I told her that I wasn't interested in the implant or root canal only the cleaning. ok, take a seat, the estimate for a deep clean was over $3K!!!!!!!! I repeated her for clarification. Yes, I heard that right! I explained to her that they wasted my time. Nobody can afford to even get their teeth cleaned there. I have since made an appt with a local dentist whose office charged $95 for cleaning and $375 a visit for 2 visits for a deep cleaning. HUGE DIFFERENCE read more

I would not go here. I recently switched jobs and had dental insurance that only Aspen Dental would take and I was in a bind because my back molar was in pain and I knew it was chipped. At first glance, the place seems great. Clean, organized, updated technology. I had an appointment for 10:00am. At 10:45 I was finally seen and they took me for an absurd amount of x-rays. I'm pretty sure she did 24 individual X-rays, and the poor assistant, I gagged on each one because they kept the bite in there so long. Next I was taken to the chair when the dentist came in and made me feel overwhelmed. I had a fractured root YEARS ago and my dentist extracted my tooth, but I never got a new one because 1. it doesn't bother me (it's all the way in the back) and 2. its so expensive and I rather treat myself to a nice vacation. He came in and started explaining the process and amount of appointments I'd need to get the tooth. Remember, I was only there because my back molar filling chipped. Then he told me I had two cavities around the tooth that was giving me an issue, and I needed two crowns as soon as possible. My new insurance was kicking in in 3 weeks, and I'd be able to go back to my original dentist, but he assured me I wouldn't make it those 3 weeks and this small issue would turn into two more Root Canals. Then a hygenist came in and measured my gums and told me I had gingivitis (never had this before, and prior to, I went for cleanings every 6 months). She didn't give me a cleaning. They took a 3D image of my teeth and showed me what it looked like. This was pretty cool, but not worth the headache. Then they took me into another office to show me my treatment plan which looked like it was PAGES long. Again, I had only come in for the one issue. They told me that I NEEDED two crowns and can't wait any longer. They at first told me they took my insurance, then said they didn't, then said they did, but couldn't give me an estimate on how much it was going to cost, but said most likely around 2-3k. Then the dentist came in and said he could squeeze me in the next morning at 8am, as that was the only appointment he had because he was leaving the country for a month. I left feeling pretty stressed out but took the appointment. The next morning as I was leaving the house, I received a phone call from Aspen saying the dentist called out sick. Now keep in mind, the pretty much told me I was having a dental emergency and needed to be seen ASAP. The dentist I saw also told me that the fill in dentist who was coming in for him while he was away was fine, but not as good as him. Why in the world would I come back here? Long story short, I ended up going to my friend who is a dentist and paid out of pocket to get my filling repaired (NOT A CROWN), and it was less money than whatever Aspen was trying to sell me. I was able to go back to my regular dentist for a check up and they did X-rays and looked at my filling and all is good now. Beware of this place. read more

I had two teeth left that needed to come out and get new dentures. Well I thought it would be a wonderful experience at first because everyone was so nice, the office was clean and updated. But I was quickly remedied of that thought. After they took my remaining teeth they scheduled me for an appointment to get the denture process started. They scanned my mouth and told me if that worked out I wouldn't need to come back for a wax bite but set that appointment up just in case. Well they called me a day or two before that appointment telling me I didn't need to come in and the scan worked. The day after the appointment that they told me I no longer needed they called to tell me, in fact I do need to but I couldn't come in for another couple weeks. That appointment finally comes around and I get someone to watch my infant and get off work early, only to get all the way there with their doors locked and lights off with a note on the door that said "sorry for the inconvenience but our systems are shut down, please call us tomorrow" well I did try call that next day and for days after that with nothing. I finally call another Aspen and find out they had a cyber attack and I'm baffled how a company as big as Aspen doesn't have any backup or anything to at least be able to call patients and let them know what was going on. Mind you I'm in a lot of pain because I have a partial denture that is causing me a bad ulcer now and it's only getting worse and I'm barely eating because it hurt so bad. At this point everything is up in the air and when I finally get a hold of them they tell me it would take possibly up to 2 months to get my new dentures, even after I come in for my wax bite when originally it was supposed to be 10 days. Now I'm long past the time I should've had my new dentures and I'm pissed, so I say I just want a refund and I'll go somewhere else. Well that wasn't an option either apparently because their systems were still down and they couldn't give me my money back until they were back up and that was an uncertain amount of time and could be weeks. I should've said ok and gone somewhere else because now I have my new dentures and I hate them. My first dentures I didn't like because the teeth were small and I didn't like that. Well I got my new dentures and I told them I wanted them white like my old ones and they didn't listen. They pick out the shade and shape for you. You get no say and you get pressured into singing a paper saying you're happy with them all while a helper or whatever she was that is assisting you laughs at you while you're smiling in the mirror because you know you're not happy and all you want to do is leave and cry. I'm actually bawling as I write this because now I'm stuck with dentures I paid thousands for that I hate. My last dentures I got to pick the shade and everything and even style. Nothing like that here and they get to not only choose what they think is best but they will definitely voice their opinion of it as well and if you think differently they will have some comments about it. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because there were some nice people like Tara and a few of the assistants. But when it comes down to it everything was a nightmare! They gave me what they call natural looking teeth and I didn't want that. I got brushed off when I said that these weren't as white saying oh they are 3 shades brighter than the last. And I am not one to cause an inconvenience even when I've spent a lot of money so I didn't speak up as much as I should have and I wish I would've more than anything now because I'm so unhappy with my smile and all I do is cry now.
