Providers at Aspen Dental at the time of this review.

I am a physician. I start this review by stating this so that readers understand that I am familiar with healthcare and nuances regarding prescription writing, etc. My nightmare began with a toothache that, over the course of 2 days, became a pain that was unbearable. Made an emergency appointment with Aspen Dental. My appointment start time was significantly delayed, but hey, that happens. When they finally took me back the X-ray tech did not seem to know how to properly obtain the images. She overexposed me to radiation by taking nearly 30 X-rays because she kept messing up. Eventually she called someone to help her and it got done. But not before I had been needlessly exposed to much more radiation that I should have been. Then the dentist, Dr. Yordanska Fernandez Cabada came in. She promptly told me that I had not one but two teeth that needed immediate extraction. One on the bottom and one on top (I had not been having any problems with the top). I asked if they could be saved and she said they were beyond saving. She then told me that I needed about $30,000 worth of dental work because if she removes the tooth my bite wouldn't close properly. She wanted to crown EVERY SINGLE ONE of my teeth. But fine, whatever...I was in pain. She scheduled the extraction for the next morning. I was to be first at 7:30am so I could get to my clinic on time to see my own patients. She told me that she would electronically submit a pain medication to get me through the night because I was in agony. It was never called in. I managed to get back to the clinic moments after they closed and one of the receptionists on her way out said I didn't have an appointment the next morning because I had not pre-paid. But no one had asked for payment. Luckily she went ahead and put me on the books. If I had not caught her I wouldn't have had an appointment the next morning at all. But she said that the only thing I could do about the missing scrip was to call the after hours emergency number. After calling the after hours emergency number I was told by the answering service that the on call dentist had received my messages but she never responded to me. The on call service sympathized with me staying, "I wish we didn't take calls for them. Everyone hates them and it's always problems and when someone calls in we keep getting call after call from the same person because they never call them back." - what a wonderful endorsement by your own answering service. The next morning I arrived early. The appointment didn't begin until 8:10 am. Why am I waiting 40 minutes if I am the first appointment? But that's not what has me upset. I never got my pain medicine and I had not slept all night. I was in misery. They got me back in the chair and the dentist asks how I am doing. I explain that I am in pain because she didn't send the scrip and no one returned my emergency call. She became VERY insulted that I would suggest that she had not sent the scrip. She insisted that she did and that I must have gone to the wrong Kroger. But I pointed out that Kroger pharmacy was able to see that no scrip had been sent to ANY Kroger. I reminded her that since I was new to the area and didn't have a pharmacist yet that I let HER choose the pharmacy and that she chose to send it to the Kroger "next door". She continued to insist that I went to the wrong one. This is a good time to point out that as a physician I know that Kroger can see scrips sent to other stores if asked to look, which I did. There was nothing. She did not like this line of dialogue apparently. She started topically numbing my mouth but then left for about 10 minutes. When she returned she stated that she had the right to refuse service and that she was exercising that right. She then informed me that she would not be providing service to me because she was afraid I would report her to the dental board if something went wrong (her words, not mine). She said that since I was a physician she knew I knew how to file a complaint with the board if something went wrong and therefore she was unwilling to take the risk. I was then promptly discharged from the office. I found another dentist and requested my X-rays and records to be sent to the new dentist. They never did. Still haven't. The other dentist had to obtain new xrays (more radiation). But then they told me that all I needed was a root canal and a filling. They said that the top tooth only needed a filling. They (the dentist and the tech) had a good laugh when I told them that Aspen Dental told me the teeth were not salvageable...and laughed twice as hard when I told them about the $30,000 worth of work Aspen Dental said I would need. I was considered an emergency case and the ADA and Dental Board have ethical guidelines in place about how I should have been cared for. I was now an established patient with Aspen Dental and they had an ethical obligation to address my emergency. Instead, well, this is my review.

This came out of my gums after 3 weeks of wisdom teeth extractions... They didn't remove all the tooth.

Summer went above and beyond with providing me information on what my insurance would pay and what I would be left with as well as financing options. She was so kind throughout the whole process. Every single one of the staff checked on me during and after my procedure. They made sure to keep my anxiety under control as well as pain afterwards (which wasn't as bad as I expected). Dr. Haygood was very professional and thorough and I never felt like he was rushing to get out of my room. I HIGHLY recommend this office if your considering dentures, implants, etc. I couldn't be more happy with my results and the process.

I got the "run-a-around" of "We have to see you first before we can give you even a ball park price so let me make you an appointment" So after having to pay for x-rays and sales pitches, it was a GREAT relieve to have been able call up, told them what I wanted (snap-in dentures) and told a bottom line price per implant by a articulate, cheerful young lady who told me what my insurance would a would not do. The office is very pleasant. I recieved anxiety meds (several teeth being removed) and was placed in a room with nice music and a cuddly soft blankee and took a 10 min. nap. The good Dr is very professional and gives you a feeling of knowing you are good hands and it was with very minimal discomfort he extracted 5 teeth and performed 4 implants. I have had very little bleeding at home. I highly reccommend this dental family on Airline Drive. P.S. I also was given the blankee!

At a brighter smile, They really walk and talk you through everything, without making you feel inferior. The front desk ladies are too sweet, and the dentist, hygienist, and assistants were very informed, quick, and truly cared about my comfort. I called a few offices first but they weren't accepting new patients, so continuing on, I came across A Brighter Smile Dental Care. In thoroughly reading reviews on Yelp, Google, and their website, I kept seeing the same positive reviews to include recommendations on the FB Military Spouse Group. I decided to give it a try. I called and sure enough they always accept new patients, I was able to get an appointment the next day right when they opened. I saw Dr. Thomas at the North Bossier location. She was awesome, I felt like I've been a patient of hers for years. I have to come back next week for my wisdom tooth extraction. I'm glad I was able to find this dental office. I've already made exam appointments for my kiddos, and hope their experience is just as great! Before I forget to mention, they do quarterly giveaways. How awesome! When I checked in they gave me a goodie bag with a shirt, lip gloss and a pen! They also have a coffee and water station.
