Very kind staff. Waited a while in between services but once they were with me very knowledgeable and quick to provide care.

I had a balance and they told me to have my insurance send me a check to send it back to them. I hand delivered the check to the physical office I got services rendered at and they have said my money is still due three months later. There is a note in their system that verifies that they received the check and it has been pending for 1.5 months. I have called many times and been told it was escalated with no resolution. Today I received a text saying money I paid them already was sent to collections. I also called the office and was disconnected "on accident" after expressing frustration with money being sent to collections that my insurance has already paid. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Although I had to wait a bit during my first visit due to an emergency patient, I understand that these things happen. The staff was incredibly kind and professional, clearly dedicated to their work. My second appointment was impressively efficient. I underwent a tooth extraction--the fourth in my life but the first at this clinic--and it was by far the best experience. Dr. Lucas's expertise ensured the procedure was swift and painless; I barely realized the tooth was out. If you're in need of a tooth extraction, I highly recommend visiting Dr. Lucas. DO NOT GO HERE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY!!! I originally had an appointment at 10AM, I checked in with the nasty lady at the desk, and I was told they were short staffed, and I would have to wait, so I waited for almost two hours, just to get a cleaning, the wait time was already bad enough, but it gets worse. I went back to the chair after what felt like I was growing more grey hairs, but the dentist started to numb my mouth, and started pulling my teeth out? I now have my two front teeth and two of my molars missing because I supposedly had cavities? they tried to charge me $8500 for the work they did, I only came in for a cleaning? so I went to another dentist to see if I had the cavities, and after a through inspection, and four missing teeth, I had no cavities! I will be taking legal action for the downright disrespect, scamming, and pain I went through. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY!!! and make sure that lady working the front desk gets fired too, who wants to get a nasty attitude fired at them just for asking why your waiting for two hours when your appointment was the two hours prior. read more

What a disappointment! They just want to extract money from their clients. They claimed that I needed deep cleaning (not covered) and refused to give me a standard cleaning. I was left in the chai unattended for an hour because I refused to pay for the deep cleaning. Do yourself a favor go somewhere else. Terrible !!!! read more

I had started having full dentures with lower dental implants. I paid 7000 Phase One. I waited a year due to finances to do Phase 2. I was quoted as $3848 to finish phase 2. They tell me it's $5230!!! They try to find me financing for months!! Nothing!! I tell them just let me get a set of cheap dentures advertised at $399 an arch. They say they are not available and that they only use the highest priced ones there!! So I wasted $7000 and have no dentures!! Avoid them!! The $399 is a tease to get you in!! read more

I cannot comment on the quality of the dentist or dental hygienist because we did not make it that far. After arriving for our appointment, we waited an additional hour beyond our scheduled appointment. When my husband got up to ask what was going on, the receptionist was incredibly rude and told that they were short staffed and we would just have to wait. We waited for another 15 minutes and decided we should leave. When we confronted the receptionist and told her that she was the reason we were leaving due to her extreme rudeness, she didn't even apologize. Another lady behind the desk apologized for her. I could not believe the audacity of this girl treating customers like that. We were not rude in our questions, were not pushy or impatient, or overbearing in any way. Long story short, even if the dentist potentially could have been world class(though I doubt it), definitely not worth waiting over an hour for our appointment with hostile staff. read more

They don't respect their patients, I had a pain in 2 teeth. I booked an appointment online and confirmed on it by phone and after I showed up and took the time off from my work and arrived at their place and they took my information and my insurance information. they came out and said they can't see me. they didn't care I had that pain, they don't care about the patients. she kept explaining a problem with their scheduling system however I called their number and confirmed on it again. but they didn;t care. I don't recommend that place to anyone, if they don't care about the patients that much!!!! read more

Oral surgery with sedation to remove lower implants- $3,000... What a nightmare this has been! My sister was barely awake and was bleeding profusely when they dumped her into my car post surgery. 2 hours later, her neck was so swollen she couldn't swallow. Not satisfied at all I took my mother in for a chipped tooth.....they did X-rays and did not even address the chipped tooth issue.......they told her she needed a root canal and that she had three cavities that needed to be taken care of....Mom was not happy with the attitude of the dentist at the Brighton Mi location so I found another dentist... upon requesting moms X-rays to be sent to new dentist it took 4 tries (eventually did get them) new dentist said X rays were blurry and (wondered how they came upon their diagnosis )that she didn't need a root canal just a filling and only had one cavity.. They wanted some ridiculous amount of money like $2,000 to deep clean my teeth and the other dentist and Howell Michigan wants about 300.

My husband went in for one tooth replacement and the next thing you know, they pulled 5 teeth and charged $10,000 to "save his teeth"! Now after 6 months of BS, waiting for his permanent partials, they want another $1300 before he can get them! Total rip off Go to a real dentist! I am mortified by the additional damage that this dentist has caused me on a physical, financial, and emotional level. I am reporting them to the better business bureau for HORRIFIC practices, taking advantage of patients, and for the damage they have caused me as well as many others. This facility is poorly operated and the current receptionist was repulsive and should not be in a position to give customer support or care. I truly believe the Aspen Company would not allow this person to be a receptionist or representative of their company if they knew how she operated and treated their patients. Went in for an initial appointment as I was due for my 6 month checkup. They quoted over $300 out of pocket for a cleaning. No thanks. After reviewing my insurance coverage I realized the code they wanted to use for my cleaning should be covered at 100% with no out of pocket. read more

I should have read the reviews of this place before going! I was told I needed a deep cleaning casting over $2,000 but after my insurance discount it would be $1500. My out of pocket coast would be $764. Payment was required in advance. since I was in shock and felt and made to feel this was urgent, I stupidly gave them my credit card to put the charge on. After going home, I read the reviews and was horrified. The website from Aspen dental said they welcomed a second opinion and would give me a copy of my xrays. I cancelled my appointment for the deep cleaning and went to the office to ask for my xrays and a refund. they said it would take 48 hours to send my xrays and 4-5 days to process the refund. It has been a week and I have not received the refund and my xrays have not been sent. I keep getting the same response, their system is down and it's a corporate problem. I had to have all new xrays done and am disputing the charge with the help of my credit card company. DON'T GO THERE!!!!!!! read more

I was having tooth pain on a Wednesday night @1am. I made an appointment online and was able to get an appointment the next day (Thursday) @ 4:30 pm after work. I found the office staff to be extremely well managed and helpful. The office itself was clean and well cared for. I was under the impression that I would be able to have my tooth fixed at this time. This was not the case... After no less than 20 X-rays which took 30 minutes and another 25 minute wait, I was able to see the Doctor, who informed me the 20 X-rays is standard procedure for every new patient seen in her office. Needless to say by this point I was extremely pissed off that I had wasted 2 hours of my life trying to get my tooth fixed and finding out this was not going happen. The Doctor who I found to be incredibly competent and smart took time out of her busy schedule to explain to me why my tooth was not going to be fixed on the spot. She then informed me of all my options on how the tooth could be fixed. I would recommend Aspen dental. to everyone in the Brighton area. She was extremely nice and very knowledgeable. Trust me when I tell you this I'm not an easy person to talk to when I'm upset and in pain. The Doctor was kind enough to explain to me that my 40 year old filling had started to break down and that I had an infection in the root of my tooth that needed to be taken care of before any procedure to fix my tooth could take place. This Doctor has the most up to date schooling, and degree that a dentist can have. As I said earlier in this review I would recommend this Aspen dental office to everyone in the Brighton, heartland, Howell, Green oak, and surrounding area. read more

Just moved to this area in need of a new dentist an a cleaning. 18 plus xrays later was told by doc that a problem free loose tooth (over 5 years) needed to be pulled asap; my 4 front teeth needed to come out and replaced with partial denture. Also need a crown on a tooth that has not been a problem. Then the hygienist told me that I had had bacterial infections and needed a periodontal deep cleaning . Total cost over $2300 with my cost after insurance $583. For only the cleaning! Not going to happen! Also, office complex on the verge of shabby, exam room dusty.... First and last visit. read more

I was looking for a new dentist in the Brighton, Mi area and based on their recent advertising decided to try out this location. I was hoping to obtain an exam and to have my teeth cleaned. Unfortunately Aspen was more interested in taking X-rays and determining how I was going to pay for all the future work they said I needed. Time with the hygienist was never scheduled. Additionally, their advertising had indicated that there would no charge for an initial exam and X-rays. This was not the case as I received a bill for $81.00 for X-rays approximately one week later. read more

They gave me a contract to sign that obligated me to pay 500.00 a year for two cleanings, one checkup and one X-ray. They would not allow me to get X-rays every other year. They are not any less expensive than any other dentist, occasionally more expensive. The dentists seem as though they are just beginning their career. I have had 4 cleanings there, no dental work. Two of the visits had a patient moaning in the next exam cubicle. I wonder if they are cutting back on the anesthesia? The hygienist, however is very good. read more

If I could rate them a minus five stars, I would. I came expecting to spend a lot of money with them. The entire appointment was a fiasco. They were extremely unprofessional and uncaring about you as a person. You were a walking $$ and if you weren't immediately ready to pull out your credit card, they weren't interested. The office was shoddy, shabby and short-staffed. I was handed an "estimate" consisting of a dollar amount written in a 1" x 1-1/2" post it note. The woman handing it to me stated they had no way of giving me a written estimate. Even a veterinarian does that! To make matters worse? After driving there in a snowstorm and spending nearly two hours, the next day I received a text saying they were sorry I missed my appointment. Enough said. read more

This is the worst dentist i have ever been too. Went to them for three years, will NEVER go again. For one they cant keep their staff, while ive been going there for three years i have seen 4 different managers, staff gets replaced often, always a new receptionist. Almost everytime i have gone in fuor work its been a new dentist, so its quite hard to build trust when everytime you visit its all new people. They call you and email you about your appointments and if you promptly dont answer them, than they put it upon themselves to make you wait bc you didnt answer both methods of their communication, which i find absolutely ridiculous I work and go to school full time, I dont have time to call and email the dentist, if i schedule a apptioment than i assume thats when i should get my work done but that is not the case there. My most recent visit I was told that "the cavities they filled at the brighton aspen dental location were too big and would need crowns, so pretty much they are double charging me, made me get hundreds of dollars of fillings to now tell me that they need crowns bc the fillings were too large that they did... so I should have had crowns all along. Also make sure your checking your bill EVERYTIME i have had multiple times where they overcharged me or were charging for work that wasnt even done yet! Do your research and choose a family dentist. read more

Beware of the FREE exam and x-rays. Took 2.5 hrs and did way to many x-rays! And in the end all they wanted was to sell Invisalign. I would never reccomend Aspen Dental! read more

I have never written a bad review in my life, but since I failed to look before making my appointment, I can only hope you don't do the same. I wasn't too nervous before going in; I've had some pretty awful dentist experiences but I was optimistic about this one. The dental assistant was the only reason why I am giving this visit two stars instead of one. She was very polite and made me feel more welcome than anyone else did. She performed all of my uncomfortable X-rays and informed me of what would be happening next. I went in for a check up + x-rays so that I could get my wisdom teeth removed. The doctor was very informative, but the hygienist made me feel really uncomfortable. At the end of my visit, when I thought I was done and ready to go, I was actually called to the consultation office to discuss pricing. My visit took a total of two hours. They refused to give me an x-ray referral, since they do tooth extractions in-house, but I still preferred to go somewhere else. She made feel very uncomfortable with the way that she spoke to me as well, belittled- like she was talking down to me. Needless to say, I'm not coming back. read more

Before aspen dental, my teeth were pretty bad. Cavities, my gums weren't in the best condition and my teeth were covered in plac, but now, thanks to Cindy, Stephanie, dr Buford, Walter, and all the others at the Brighton aspen dental, my teeth are much better. First off. If you schedule an appointment with them, you'll get calls about 3 days before your appointment saying, "If you dont confirm your appointment, it will ne cancelled" are they insecure or something? Second. I had two crowns done here. They look and feel great. However, one of them feels loose now - like it could come out any day. So I scheduled an appointment, paid $50 up front and they looked at it. Dentist said its loose, but must be a root problem. Then, I get a bill for $200 a week later (I was there for 5 mins!). Then, I went in for a cleaning recently. The dentist mustve forgot about me, and makes a comment about how loose one of my front teeth is. Then once I explain it, he goes," Oh. Its not that loose". Aspen Brighton is the worst dentist I have been to EVER!! First, they charged me $51 for a previous bill that I had already paid for! They claimed that my insurance didn't pay as much as they initially stated they would but didn't charge me until 4 months after the procedure was done and paid for! THEN, after I pay the $51, they tell me that can't see me because they don't accept my insurance. Crock of shit. I gave them my insurance info 3 days before my appointment. I normally don't take the time to review a place... but I had such a great experience here I felt compelled to share! My new patient exam was free- & you can't beat their prices if you are uninsured like me. I did have to wait awhile as they had an emergency patient come in before me but these things happen in life, you just deal with them. Everyone was very kind here too, and they all seem to care about doing their job well. When I came in for a second appointment I was in and out so fast it was awesome!! I had an extraction done (the 4th in my lifetime and first here) - the procedure went so well, I didn't feel it at all- Dr. Lucas is an expert! I've had fillings hurt more! I am seriously impressed with how fast and smooth the whole procedure went. I wasn't even sure she had even pulled the tooth after it was out, it went THAT well! I had high hopes after reading some reviews but was left disappointed. I came into aspen dental to have a broken tooth removed and was in deep pain. I have insurance and thought that I would be seen and have my issue resolved. I was seen and had xrays and a consultation with my hygentist and the dentist. After their consultation I was escorted to talk with the office manager about costs and was shocked at the costs considering I have insurance. I won't go into details and I am will leave that out of my review. I was told that I needed to pay for the extraction up front and I was disappointed that they would not take a post dated check, per their company policy it's not allowed. I had the impression that they might even bill me but was told that I would need to pay before any services are performed. Well I left the office in pain with no services being performed, i did not feel like a valued customer and have since canceled all future appointments for myself and my family. This was my experience and i am highly dissatisfied with the outcome. read more

One of the most poorly run offices . I wouldn't come here unless you enjoy waiting. Not just for your appointment. But every stage in between. (X-rays, hygienist, dentist. Unless you have hours to spend waiting this is not the office for you. They always seem to be over scheduled.While the claim to be no judgmental, the doctors are sanctimonious and self righteous. The pulled my tooth while still horribly infected and offered no relief. I found the doctor to be tempestuous and begrudging. Took multiple calls to hear back from on call doctor. Appointments seemed rushed and though you are just a number. The prices they advertise online are half of what they charge. I would not recommend this office for even emergency care. read more

Scammers!!! Is it possible to leave a negative star???!!! This place is an example of corporate greed. I chipped my tooth and was in desperate need of help. I thought Aspen Dental would be a good choice..I was terribly wrong. It falsely claims on their website that " emergency services are available. I went in, sat in a chair for nearly 30 minutes in agonizing pain for a rude, uncaring, apathetic dentist to come and look at my tooth for 30 seconds and say, " you need a root canal and crown" and walked out.So I continued to wait for the financial person to come in to talk to me about the cost. Another 15 minutes passes and she comes in to tell me that my work will cost a whopping $2900. I've had this type of work done and it was never that much. But...I was in terrible pain so I said go ahead and do it. I was then informed the dentist was leaving and couldn't perform any emergency procedures because it was closing time. I was in extreme pain at this point and in complete disgust that a so called doctor would leave a patient in pain. I was then offered to apply for a health care credit card at a very high rate to help pay for the procedure..what a joke! I left in pain and full of anxiety with an unresolved issue. I then contacted another local dentist and went to see him. He told me I didn't even need a root canal or a crown and would fix my tooth the same day!! My bill was only $180!!! Aspen Dental is a bunch of heartless, greedy, scam artists and should not be allowed to practice. STAY AWAY!! Buyer BEWARE! They almost scammed me out of $3000! He repaired them (65.00) Talked to Office manager and district manager at Aspen. They sent me a twenty fivedollar give card to cover my gas and problems.. Ended up waiting a full half an hour for my appointment only to have an unfortunate experience. The doctor was a visiting doctor we generally practices in South Dakota and just fills in occasionally in Michigan. He was kind and knowledgeable, as was the assistant, but it was obvious that they had never worked together before. Each time he needed something, she didn't have it, or didn't know what he meant, which caused several delays in the action, extremely uncomfortable for a person who doesn't like dental work to begin with. It's not very comforting when you hear the dentist saying, "No, not that one." Then, the assistant rummaging through things and pulling out the wrong tools or equipment. This lack of communication and ease of working together makes me not want to return. Additionally, at the end, I was told by the dentist to wait a few minutes and then they would check me out. I was left sitting there in the chair with the dental bib still on. After 10-15 minutes I finally poked my head and asked somebody in another cubicle if I should continue to wait, or go to the front. Needless to say, they had forgotten about me, or had not been told by the dentist that I was there and needed to released. read more

I scheduled an appointment with them at 11:00 am and I had a hectic morning and was running not even 5 minutes late I called their office at 11:05 and they told me they cancelled my appointment because it was at 10:30. Well the confirmation text and the woman I talked to when I scheduled it both said 11:00 am so I showed up there anyway and she gave me excuses saying the call service wasn't working even though they answered the phone when I called. I read prior reviews and not many of them were nice a lot of complaint and the receptionist I dealt with did not seem like she cares at all about the numbing hole in my tooth her tone was very condescending and back handed I do not recommend this place read more
