I went to Aspen Dental as a potential patient. The desk staff was friendly and efficient. As I was waiting to be seen, an elderly gentleman and his wife came in with a baggie holding his broken bridge. He said it had been made at Aspen Dental and had broken with one bite of pie. He asked to see the Doctor. The staff said there was no Doctor available. Then he asked to see a Manager. They tried to give him an appointment 5 days away. He demanded to see a Manager. The Office Manager finally came to the front desk, he was dismissive. He immediately got on a computer not making eye contact with the people and told them they could come back in five days, period. Beware of Aspen Dental. I am 71 years old and Ias visiting Cape Coral Florida. I went to Aspen Dental with a terrible tooth ache. They told me I needed a Root Canal and the Droctor that does Root Canals happened to be at their office today if I would Like to have it done. I was in such pain that I agreed to have it done. After waiting a while a office person called me up and said the charged would be $3,500.00 with my insurance. I though this was very high price but I was in pain. I gave them my credit card and they did the Root Canal. A few weeks later I received a bill for an additional $1,763.00. They advertize on the web site that an Anterior Root Canal average cost is $1,079.00. Obviously they took advantage of the fact that I was old and in pain. read more

My wife and I had gone there several times. I found the front staff to be excellent but coincidentally my wife and I both had the same problem with teeth they worked on. The dentist had replaced a screw on a bottom molar implant I had. A month later the tooth felt funny so I went to a different dentist that specializes in implants and he found it was infected. Not saying they cause the infection but about 3 months later my wife had a cap replaced at the same Aspen Dental Office. Several weeks after, she said it was hurting. I took her to a different dentist and he found her tooth was infected as well. My review for Aspen dental if I could give them a negative 100 I would give them a -100. The very first time I came they had none of my paperwork I had to reschedule. And then I had to find all my own paperwork nobody in the office at 2609 Santa Barbara did their work I did it for them and all I was having done was a tooth pulled. Beware of  Apen Dental and their Cape Coral office.   They BAIT AND SWITCH charges.  They charge me for services that they promote as free office visits and X-rays, then send you a bill months later for $197. They also later charged me for an "insurance discount" they applied to the same bill because the insurance never offered such a discount.  Months later, they sent an additional bill for $703 and sent it to a collection company. I am posting this negative review as a word of caution to others. My recent experience with Aspen Dental on Pine Island Road in Cape Coral, Florida is the worst dental experience I have ever had! I would like to clarify, I came in because I don't have a regular dentist in Florida and my husband had used Aspen Dental in Albany, Oregon and said they were very good. My examination seemed fairly thorough, lots of X-rays and scans, however their equipment looked old and tired compared to my former dental office in Oregon. The technician was very pleasant and nice. The next part of the exam was the part where the hygienist checks your gums and say how many centimeters your gums recede. By the way, this is something our old dentist in Oregon did every six months with routine cleanings. Nothing unusual here for me, my teeth are pretty decent for a woman in her 50's. Normally I would receive my cleaning after this. Instead I was left in the chair to wait. And wait. After an extremely long wait, the doctor came in and looked at my teeth and the x-rays/scans for a few minutes. He said everything looked great, no problems! He even commented on how nice my previous dental work was! Next I am ushered into a room to wait for a consultation. I waited for a good 15 - 20 minutes. Evidently my husband came into the reception area and asked what was taking so long and that must have prompted them to call me into another office. I am seated in the office of a man (not the dentist) and immediately the hygienist and the fellow in the office had to step out to 'discuss something privately' and then came back. He then fiddled around with paperwork, and all the while, said nothing to me. Finally he stops and makes some pleasant small talk. Nice enough person, but I'm wondering when we are going to get to the discussion about my teeth. He informs me that all is well, except that I have periodontal disease! I'm a little taken aback, especially since THEIR dentist just said my teeth looked well. He explained what periodontal disease is and that I have bone loss and that it is going to get much worse unless I agree to an $840 invasive treatment where they scratch down below your gumline and apply antibiotic. Oh and $273 follow-ups every four to six months. FOREVER! He said that this is the only treatment option and there is nothing I can do to improve things. He points out a brochure on periodontal disease and treatment and tells me to take one, so I guess this must be a frequent diagnosis for this office. At this point I am in shock. I mention that my previous dentist never even hinted about me having periodontal disease. He said that periodontal disease is really hard to treat and most dentists just don't want to bother with it. He told me that my previous dentist was scamming me for my insurance and ongoing payments and treatments. At this point I realize that the scammer is this man and the hygienist there in front of me. I believe this man is the owner. I do not like feeling pressured for unnecessary treatments, which I believe is the case here. I came in for a cleaning and did not get that. They tried to discredit a dentist that they do not know. They tried to frighten me into agreeing to a very invasive, expensive and unnecessary treatment. I will not be coming back to this place ever. My appointment was at 2 PM, I didn't leave the office until 5 PM. I left without an actual diagnosis for my dental pain, because they said they needed a CT and a root canal specialist. I've never had that problem at my other dental practice, all of them are capable of doing root canals. Then they pulled me in their business office and said a root canal which I potentially needed and another one that I definitely needed( in another tooth that was causing no pain) would be $9,000. ASPEN Dental is a scam that puts people at risk and uses fear to steal their money for unwanted and unnecessary dental treatments/work. I visited while at our home in Cape Coral to have a sharp edge of a broken tooth smoothed over until the tooth is removed in August for an implant by my dentist/maxiolfacial surgeon in Ohio. I was being upsold from the moment I entered the office as was the others that I could hear in the office at the same time I was. I declined the "Gum Examination" and explained I have a dentist in Ohio. The "business mgr." came in with the dentist a few minutes later and tried to sell me on the gum exam, cleaning and extracting my tooth. I explained I am getting a bone graft at the time of extraction for the implant and I just need the sharp edge smoothed over. The dentist said the only option was for him to extract the tooth. This is NOT a simple extraction as I am getting an implant and the extraction will be difficult. I asked for him to just smooth the sharp edge. He refused. I told them I had never been so pressured and upsold in my life and got out of the chair and left. I would AVOID this scam at ALL costs! Patornize a LOCAL dentist that does not have minimum billing requirements for everybody that walks in the door and one that does not employ fear tactics to pressure people into expensive, dangerous and unecessary treatments. *While in the office I observed a woman who came in because she had a crown fall off 4 times in 41 days. Another person was in due to a cavity and was sold the gum treatments and was told he needed aan extensive root canal and crown for over $3000.00. My experience I was advised because of severe tooth infection, must be extracted! No other options would work, from the Sr dentist. I was initially grateful for the care that I received at Aspen Dental. I suffered some hard times, divorce, health issues etc and didn't realize that I was on a timeline to finish my care. I had received my temporary teeth, and was due to go back for my final set, and showed up to many appointments after driving an hour, to be told things weren't ready yet etc. I have been trying to make appointments to get back in, and am told a manager will call me back, or assist me as my care is no longer covered and I would have to start all over. This place pulled all of my teeth out and left me with a set of broken dentures now that I can't afford to replace. My front tooth is superglued in! They absolutely DO NOT CARE AND DO NOT CALL BACK. This is the worst dental experience I have ever had. I went in with extreme pain in my mouth and made sure they were aware of it before and after I got there. I had to find a new dentist due to a change in our in plan. They did X-rays, an exam, wanted to do a cleaning, and give me a "plan", not one time addressing the current issue. I stopped the cleaning and walked up front to check out. While there, once again, all they wanted to do was a "plan". These are very inconsiderate and uncaring people. I called to make an appointment to have the rubber inserts placed in my partial for the implants and the lady making the appointment indicated it would cost me $346.54 for those 5 inserts. I went there for a basic dental cleaning along with my partner and instead of the usual cleaning we have received out entire lives in the Midwest for $150 or so, we walked out with bills close to $3000! For a new patient visit and simple cleaning!!! We were told our insurance would cover the visit and Guess What? It didn't even begin to cover all it's charges, including some mouth rinse they threw in for $40 a bottle for each of us (we ended up throwing it out--not healthy). Aspen employees sold me on an antibiotic coating for a number of teeth at $70 each--ultimately not covered by insurance even though I was told it would be. And Totally Unnecessary! Came to this Aspen location by mistake instead of the other in Cape Coral. After sitting for 25 minutes I finally got asked to come up. An unwelcoming "So what are you here for?" was my greeting. When I stated I had an appointment I was quickly corrected and also hit with the Friday line of "and we close at 1PM...so....". So I asked if there was other locations in Cape Coral I could have possibly been scheduled at and I was responded with a snappy "yes" as if I was expected to know that. Long story short here, customer service with the desk was pretty terrible, no reflection of the professionals behind the scenes I'm sure, but a pretty eye opening first impression of Aspen, and I definitely will not use this location personally, or recommend to anyone. read more

Unless you just love to spend obscene amounts of money on dental care, even if you have dental insurance, there is absolutely no reason to bother considering Aspen Dental. My husband and I just moved to Florida from Missouri, and are in need of a new dentist. I called and made an appointment with Aspen Dental solely at the recommendation of my insurance company's website. The office is close to our home, their hours are reasonable, and they were able to get us both in for a routine cleaning and check-up within a week. Perfect! However, we left without having our teeth cleaned, and the dentist I saw took a whopping 30 secs to quickly look inside my mouth and scan my x-rays before telling me I was going to need a new crown (the one he was referring to was practically brand new). The dental hygienist then tried to use scare tactics to "sell" me on a deep clean and descale treatment. My husband never saw a dentist, and his hygienist insisted that he also would need a deep clean and descale treatment, saying his gums were evidently so bad he would need anesthesia for his treatment. They even made him watch a video on the dangers of gum disease! We had both expressed disinterest in said treatments, and just wanted our teeth cleaned, but these people absolutely would not do anything for us without giving us our "treatment" plans, and forcing us to agree to paying for something. We just simply left the office with no intention of ever stepping foot in their building again. I had a cavity filled on my 2nd molar. Within 1 year, the same tooth cracked in half, the area they worked on. They would not honor their work. They quoted me around $9k to fix my tooth. This was after conning me into periodontal scraping of the entire mouth, very painful and was not necessary. This was after telling me that I needed a root canal, which I didn't. They also tried to make me pay for x-rays that the tech had done incorrectly like it was my fault he didn't know what he was doing. Now I have a dentist that is going over and fixing the work that they did. Thanks a lot Aspen. Extremely nice people at the facility . lots of gadgets to take pictures of your teeth . Dentist was very pleasant amiable , gave me a good exam .. and confirmed my teeth and gums are in good condition. ( usually in the past for the standard exam , xrays and cleaning which in the past 8 to 10 appointments I've had .. all that was included in my insurance coverage ) unfortunately they evidently have a in house policy that required me to have a special deeper type of cleaning , which I believe is unnecessary .. and they charge close to $300 for it . I've experienced this type of fee add-ons before here in florida at other dental practices also , .. as I said my last 10 exams and cleanings went with out a hitch , teeth cleaned .. and no " SPECIAL " services required . I was charged for a surgical procedure AFTER being quoted the simple procedure price, and then told it wasn't surgical so I would be receiving a refund - only to call back asking when I would be receiving that and them saying it was surgical and I owed the full amount. I spoke with Becky who had an attitude with me saying "well if you're referring to when we spoke, I never said that". She then passed me off to a manager who wasn't much more help. The front office staff was very professional. The clinical staff were courteous at my initial visit. After my (9) extractions the Dr disappeared. I was bleeding profusely, I stuffed a paper towel in my mouth, I have photos. I was charged for two surgical extractions and paid prior to any service being started. I felt no discomfort with my upper plate. The lower denture kept cutting into my gum and the pain was awful. The tech seemed to be less favorabl, I wasn't complaining, I was hurting. The upper and lower plate, the teeth were on top of one another. I felt like I had lock jaw. My mouth wouldn't close, I had to take the lower teeth out. For a little less then $6000.00, I expected a bit more then I receive, I don't live in Florida, I have to go back again for another soft liner and again for my permanent dentures. I'm very disappointed in the clinical care I received. I thought an oral surgeon would be doing the extractions, I was in such pain when the dentist was pulling at a tooth, he offered more novocaine, I said no, just pull it, he rushed through the injections in my mouth...I had recommended 2 friends to Aspen Dental in Cape Coral before my procedure...I wish I hadn't. No one deserves to be treated as I was.
