Don't waste your time or money. All they care about is getting as much out of you as possible. I was in pain and all they did was an X-ray and they wouldn't pull it the same day even though I have been on antibiotics. They wanted me to make to make another appointment and wouldn't be able to get me in until another month though it was considered a dental emergency. read more

i went to them a couple of years ago they wanted 5k for a cleaning and left my teeth with nothing. so after that i called my old dentist and she charged a very small portion to even do a cleaning where as when i told her about aspen dental she said stay away from them as had my pcp there the biggest joke in dubois pa. anyone who thinks there good or worth the money is insane. read more

My son paid $12 k for removal of his teeth. They left 2 implants in place. He had numerous infections and pain. When he finally received the temp denture's, they were so big he couldn't wear them! Had to wait for another temp pair, in one week the front tooth fell out! That was it! He requested money back, was only given $4k! He went elsewhere and was told that since Aspen didn't remove the implants or shave down the bone that he would have to have all of that done first, paying more out of pocket of course, before they would even do an impression for denture's. He's so disgusted with the whole mess! It's been since the end of May since he's had any teeth! I will be contacting the BBB!!! read more

My mother was a patient there getting dentures. She died before getting them finished. I called & the receptionist said it would be sent to refunds & we would get a check in the mail. This happened to me 4 weeks in a row & then they all of the sudden needed a death certificate. One was promptly brought to them. She said the refund request had been submitted October 4 & a death certificate was not needed. So today, after being screwed with now for almost 2 months she said she would turn it into the refunds office. I told her I had heard that 5 time's already & asked to speak to refunds. I was told I was not allowed to do that. So if you go to Aspen Dental & something goes wrong , even if you die, don't wait around for your refund, it could take til you die to get it! read more

I went in to have a tooth removed I asked if I would be given pain meds they assured me I would so I went to them instead of the oral surgeon. The day of the appointment I again asked if I would be given something for pain I was again assured by all the staff that I would be it wasn't until after the dentist pulled my tooth that he then told me to take ibuprofen my face and mouth are throbbing and ibuprofen is not cutting it I will never go back there they lie to you to get your business and get you to pay the bill ahead of time they are awful read more

This place does not deserve to be in business. Total Scam. I went there last week switching dentist, due to in network insurance reasons. The absolute first thing they wanted to do was cattle me into the Xray room. I refused as I was having no pain, sensitivity, or any other dental issues. Knowingly waiving my exam below the surface and asked they just focus on what we can see. They looked absolutely puzzled and flustered when I declined so they got their Dentist to try and convince me. He proceeded to do their poking and looking around as all dentists do at the END of your session, say "looks good" and send you in your way. I then asked if anyone was going to actually clean my teeth as i was there for a routine visit. They said no because i didn't get my X-rays they wouldn't... okay I've been to multiple dentists in my lifetime and not one has ever refused to clean my teeth.. So, being by there already I decided to elect to have the Xray done under the impression they would then clean them, which turned into 18 X-RAYS! Afterwards, expecting to then get my teeth clean the hygienist comes in to discuss my results, and measure my gums to where they connect to my teeth (biggest part of the scam probably based on a fringe article). She knew I was a nurse yet still tried to use medical terminology and scare tactics into making me think i need this "deep clean". So I asked if she was going to proceed with a routine cleaning she says no, I ask why and she says this is something we need to schedule because you have early stage gum disease.. I've never had a cavity! When I tried calling her out on this waste of utilization and billing insurance/customers for unnecessary procedures she stormed out of the room like a child. The Health Literacy in DuBois PA is very low and it makes me sick to imagine how many people they've scared into getting something they don't need because they don't understand what they are being told. All the information I believe she told me could've been accurate to a degree, but when you cherry pick peer reviewed studies in order to manipulate your clients into procedures designed to line your pockets and provide no additional benefit to the consumer it's wrong. Talking with a coworker after my "appointment" she said they told her that her 7 YEAR OLD son had early stage gum disease and needed this "Deep Clean" as well and after insurance it was going to cost nearly 700$. If I could give it less than 1 star, I would. It's a glamour dental facility. They aren't the least bit concerned with patient comfort or retaining customers. Throughout the country, Aspen Dental is overpriced, insensitive, rough of your mouth, and they use scare tactics and shame to try to gouge money out of your pocket! My adult daughter needed fillings for cavities and in the initial consultation, they said it would take root canals to fix. They tried to bully her into signing a binding agreement to pay $4000 for six cavities!! After her panic attack, we chose another dentist down the street and had her cavities filled (no root canal needed) for under $500! I went in for a basic, routine cleaning, and they told me that I had such bad gingivitis, they refused to do anything before I submitted to an expensive and painful treatment plan (I have gone to the dentist every 6 months for the past 10 years). This is after they poked & prodded so roughly that I asked the hygienist to stop and he said, "I'm almost done. It only hurts because of your gingivitis." They continued this dialogue, making me feel ashamed of my poor oral health, but when I left and went to another dentist, I was told I did not have gingivitis at all! I submitted a previous review concerning my wife's terrible experience and the service received. The owner put a reply to my review to contact their customer service and that they care bla,bla,bla. Well I have been trying to contact that number as well as the customer service number from the main Aspen site, I left my name and number as well on Monday. With that being said they confirmed more than ever that they are after your money and could care less about the product/service they provide! Would not recommend. They turn away walk ins, their warranty is not a warranty because you will need to pay still to have anything done. And God forbid you get dentures from these people...2 thousand dollars later I still can't get them into my mouth, they don't fit. Aspen will not work with you on times for appointments at all and will turn you away. If you have an issue with something they won't reach out to you unless you go to the better business bureau. I won't ever return to Aspen. Their dentists are competent but their office staff is awful. The last manager I dealt with refused to see me over what the dentist told me to do. Completely ridiculous to turn people away when you say walk ins are ok. It's also completely ridiculous that I wasted 2000 dollars on something I cannot use. Now I am stuck with nothing and have to wait until I have enough saved to go elsewhere for dentures. Never again Aspen. read more

I travelled over an hour and a half from Altoona to Dubois for a root canal with the Endodontist on staff, Rajeev Mahajan. He was competent and very polite. I was treated well by the staff and am immensely grateful for the care I received today. Well worth the drive. read more

I was so nervous about going to the dentist but they were such great help and painless. Everyone had an amazing, nonjudgmental attitude from the minute I walked in till I walked out. The doctor calmed me down and explained every detail in order of what needed to be done and what was a priority. They went over pricing in detail. I was especially impressed with how they could tell when I was nervous and were able to calm me down with reassurance that this is something that is doable. I wish I could go under one star. I needed a root canal and I was told I had to pay a $360 copay BEFORE I even went for the procedure, upon arriving for my 2 o'clock appointment, I was taken back and given novicane, after an hour and 15 minutes later they finally started the procedure even though part of the Novocain already wore off. I was told the total amount from the office manager was going to cost $440 after my insurance payout. Once the procedure was done they told me that I needed to pay an additional $655 and then another $85 on top of that equaling out to $1,100.00 so how much a root canal would cost with no insurance. I spoke with my insurance company who is informing me that they never even billed my insurance, instead they were making me pay for the full service out of pocket while telling me that's what I owed after insurance. When I tried to debate the matter to them they became very rude and pushy to get me out of the office. I will never go back to any of their branches, I don't recommend them at all. To sum up, they will charge you for your procedure when you schedule it even if it's two weeks in advance, they do horrible work because my tooth is still killing me which doesn't make sense because a root canal is supposed to relieve that by removing the nerve so clearly they didn't do something correct, and the second you are to catch on to their scam they get nasty and push you out of the office. My experience with Aspen Dental has been nothing but a nightmare since I have done services with them. I will not be using them again, and I deeply regret my decision in picking them for dental services. This does not just apply to billing, but also their work in my fillings. One of my first fillings fell out the second I got into my car in the parking lot. My second set of fillings have worn a hole in my adjacent top teeth due to the filling not being filed down enough. I have constant pain and a hole in my tooth. The other fillings are extremely rough as well. All of my fillings are very rough and were rushed, as each session lasted less than 30 minutes. Very shoddy work. Additionally, when I met with the billing department after having the initial x-rays and exam done, the only thing that I was to pay for was the fluoride, and my insurance was to pay the rest. I have confirmation documents from Aspen stating this, after telling the billing person twice to rerun my dental insurance because I have always only paid for fluoride. But Aspen Dental double charged me for the feeling that fell out, which wasn't my fault and didn't even last one minute after being put in, and has continued to send me bills of varying amounts for services insurance has already paid for. Additionally on these bills, they continue to try to charge me for my fluoride, for which I already paid and have a receipt for. Lastly, I have tried to reach out to the billing department to discuss these charges and am always told the billing person is not available and will give me a call back, for which they do not. Do not give this company your time of day. You will deeply regret it. read more
