I was told after a cleaning that I didn't owe anything and that insurance covered the total amount. Then they sent me a surprise bill one year after services! They said it was because insurance took a long time, but then admitted that it wasn't the insurance company but that Aspen was behind on their billing. I am not happy that they are charging me when they initially told me I didn't owe anything and then waited so long to send an invoice. Reply to Aspen Dental's comment: It appears that you have a similar reply to all negative posts. Don't you think people contact customer service BEFORE making a post????? I indeed did reach out and there was no apology made for lying to me about the cost of the cleaning and sending a bill a whole year later. Aspen Dental is all about the money and could care less about the patient. I called to have my teeth cleaned...didn't want x-rays and had seen the dentist 6 months ago. The dentist came in picked at my teeth for 30 seconds and then left. Not what I could say was an exam. Went in February for my cleaning appointemnt and talked to the receptionist that all I had made my appointment for was cleaning. She had me set up for exam xrays and cleaning. Then she went on to say I owed $87.00 for last visit in front of an entire lobby of people. I have always paid my bills and never received a bill from Aspen for the amount. I walked out without seeing anybody. A few months later got a bill from Aspen Dental for $87.00 and if I paid it within 30 days would only be $69.20. So I sent a check, Apparently their billing department was not sending out statements, There are plenty of fair and good dentists in Duluth, My suggestion is to find one and save yourself unnecessary humiliation. read more

my name is Ariuna! the took all coverage from my insurance and from me about 2000 dollars for nothing. they first day for my son said "first day is free". we made an appointment for him. That day when I was at work, my sponsor came to aspen with one woman, Aspen wanted to change 450$ just for check and clean my sons mouth. Dorothy called me, I said to no agree with this price just go home. they decided for 50$. and with me when a made an appointment for myself for clean and fix 2 teeth I already paid around 300$ and plus insurance, but in 1 month an appointment date they asked me 400$ dollars over I refused, they provided with no 400$ but they took all my money from insurance and letter came up in summer with charges more than 100$. read more

Went in as an emergency with TERRIBLE tooth pain. Got the feeling their workers 100% didn't care about me as a patient. It was my first time there, got a partial exam since they fit me in as an emergency, so should've been free or at least cheap.. yet they charged me a couple hundred still. Even after X-rays they sounded unsure of what the problem could be, and then sent me home with no suggestions or help with the pain. read more

I went in on a Saturday for an emergency on my back molar, for which I was in excruciating pain. They took 2 long sets of x-rays and a gum examination. The dentist came in, didn't even look at my pain filled tooth and recommended ibuprofen and Tylenol. I begged for some help, some relief but to no avail. She "had no time for that today". I was sent to go pay and they wanted me to come in 3 days for a root canal. I asked the price and I was quoted $4450. I cried all the way home. I called a hygienist friend of mine and she said go somewhere else. I had to get my X-rays to go to my daughter's dentist and the receptionist was extremely rude!!! Both on the phone and when I went to pick them up. She refused to get my X-rays until she finished something on her computer. I informed her I had an appointment in 10 mins to which she applied, "JUST SIT DOWN! I'M VERY BUSY!! I left without said X-rays. The real dentist I ended up going to not only got Aspen to send my X-rays over asap but they charged me less than half what Aspen wanted to charge me. Plus they were extremely friendly!! My dentist called Aspen dental...the McDonald's of dentistry. Oh and while I was waiting for my X-rays at Aspen, a gentleman next to me got called up. The rude receptionist told him his crown couldn't be FedEx until Fri (this was Mon). The poor guy told her how much pain he was in and please help him (sound familiar?). The rude receptionist told him there was nothing she could do, oh well! What a terrible way to treat patients!! read more

I have nothing good to say about Aspen Dental in Duluth. I needed a replacement set of lower dentures. It took from April to October to finally walk out of there with bottom teeth that I could actually use. They still don't fit correctly. I have had problems eating and talking ever since. I refuse to return to Aspen Dental. I would have an appointment on a Monday of one week, and I could not get back in for an adjustment for at least 2 WEEKS!! My appointment would be for 1 pm but I would sit and wait, sometimes over an HOUR to see the person that makes the adjustments. All in all, I do NOT recommend Aspen Dental. Go somewhere else!! read more

I had a treatment plan from last year when I didn't have dental insurance and finally got dental insurance through my work. Unfortunately aspen let me know I had a 12 mo waiting period for the procedure I needed. I was on the verge of tears because I wasn't sure how I would afford the rest of what I thought insurance would cover. steph was very patient with me and let me know if financing options and even scheduled me to talk to a lady despite the fact that the office manager was out that day. I was in and out with an approval and an appt. They rushed me in a cancellation spot and got me all taken care of. My hygienist was amazing and detailed. The front staff was slightly abrasive and I can see how people in the past have said she could be slightly rude. But I will say working reception at a dental office definitely is the worst in the office because they get yelled at the most so I understand the abrasive demeanor. everyone here really cares about the patient! I'm blessed for them and will be back soon for more work! read more
