DO NOT go to this office. There practices are unethical, and only want to upsell services and unnecessary procedures. My husband went in with 1 very, very loose tooth that needed to come out. They proceeded to do a whole mouth of 3D extensive X-rays. The dentist came back in and told him he needed all of his teeth removed and get dentures. And told him it could be done the following week. Very unprofessional. His teeth DoNot need to removed. He refuses to ever go to an Aspen Dental ever again, especially with that dentist he saw. This was all submitted to insurance. There is now a balance that was rejected by insurance. I spoke with a representative from Aspen and the office itself, without resolution. They just kept repeating the X-rays were explained and consented by the patient. UNTRUE! No resolution. Just a brick wall. And all the blaim is placed on the patient. read more

I don't even know where to begin. I hate the dentist. Let's be honest most of us do. But Aspen Dental not only took care of me. They went above and beyond. I've never experienced a dental appointment like this. They were all amazing I couldn't ask for anything better with what they did. I learned so much more from them, I've never knew from 40 plus years of going to the dentist. I will never go anywhere else ever again. For once I'm looking forward to going back. DO NOT GO HERE! THEY ARE EXTREMELY UNETHICAL AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEIR PATIENTS TO MEET THEIR QUOTA! I chipped my front tooth and was told by Aspen that I needed a root canal and crown because the break was too close to the nerve, despite having little to no pain or sensitivity. I was able to get a second opinion and was told I definitely DO NOT need a root canal and the break was no where near my nerve. It was a simple fix. I spoke to the manager of Aspen after the fact and she insisted that any trauma to a tooth would eventually need a root canal - this is untrue and ridiculous. Please do not go here, I can't believe how highly unethical their practice is and that they were going to give me an unnecessary root canal on my front tooth. Not sure how they can legally do this, but hope people see this and go else where. read more

Run, don't walk away from this place. Went there for an infected tooth, looking for a simple extraction for $125 per their web site. As others have stated, tried to upsell $11,000 worth of work, (I don't have dental ins. Have always gone to the dentist, but was looking to change offices). I told them I didn't want anything but the tooth extracted. Should have walked away when they said the fee was $335! I asked why their site says $125 for tooth extraction, and the office manager said, "Oh maybe that's the price in Florida, but not here?" Went in the next day for extraction, young, inexperienced doctor beat on the tooth for a few minutes then ran out and brought in an older doctor who actually removed the tooth, all the while "instructing" the original doctor how to do it. At that point, she admitted she "chipped" the crown next to it! She did a patch on it and said we'll take care of it if it doesn't hold. Sure enough, it didn't hold. When I went back in, they said they weren't responsible for the damage, ($1200 crown), but I could pay them for a bridge. Of course, they showed me the small print of the paperwork I signed while reclined in the seat with doctor hovering over me, stating they are held harmless to reciprocal tooth damage. Needless to say, I left and made an appointment with a "real" dentist. Unfortunately, they found not only did she crack the crown, but actually loosened tooth possibly damaging the root! At this point, I'm waiting to see if the tooth will re-set and then I'll go from there. All I wanted was a simple extraction, but ended up with the possibility of having to spend $100's/$1000's I don't have. read more

When I signed in for a routine checkup I asked to pay around $78. I had to ask for a breakdown of the cost, since my dental insurance says routine checkups are $5. Turns out they were adding a fluoride treat not covered by my insurance. I had already gone through the process of turning this treatment down during my last visit. It felt like they were trying to sneak in an additional cost. Then I was told I had horrible gingivitis and required treatment (an additional $150). I was told I couldn't get my cleaning unless I paid for the treatment first, which I said no thank you to and walked out. I already had trust issues with this office since the last time I was there for a check up I was told a had a cavity in need of an immediate root canal. The dentist preformed a sensitivity test, when I didn't feel anything he got frustrated and ran it again. It's been over 6 months and I've never experienced any issues with that tooth. I've never had so many issues with my teeth, but according to Aspen I have many. I find it hard to believe that I require so much work not covered by insurance. Every time I walk into Aspen Dental I feel like I'm being sold treatments and not actually receiving dental care. The only reason I went to Aspen was because my insurance would only allow me to use them. I can not wait to sign up for better dental insurance next year! read more

They are thieves. I went for a consultation. I was told to my insurance will cover some percentage and I had to pay $95 out of pocket. I thought it was ridiculous but anyways I paid. 6 Months later this losers charge me an extra $49 dollars, stating my insurance did not cover a part. I paid them and is the last time I work with them. Get a flight for your dental work to Colombia, Brazil or Peru. You will spend 95% less. read more

HORROR STORY They raved about my insurance coverage. I had 25 teeth removed,no sedation. Then tori upper and lower filed. No sedation. Dentures never fit properly. Returned repeatedly for adjustments. They misfiled my insurance and it ended up costing me $5000.00 out of pocket. I've since moved. New dentist relined dentures. I'm in pain after they're in for 3 hours. I am a disabled senior citizen - they don't care. I had 3 case managers in 6 months. HORRIBLE. read more

Went for a consultation on a partial at Enfield CT location. Came out with over 7000.00 estimate. They told me I needed 5 teeth removed. 2 partials and scaling. Really! Pushy pushy pushy! After going to another local dentist I liked for over 10 years I changed jobs and aspen dental was the option. My family changed over to aspen In Springfield and after thousands of dollars spent over covered insurances we caught on to them. They aggressively try to sell you toothbrushes toothpaste and antibiotics. My bills were also labeled with wrong or extra work and my insurance had to get involved to correct the issue. I have to now call my insurance ahead of time to get the exact amount of money I will spend because aspen adds to your bill extra items they don't tell you. They say my system is down and I can't get you an estimate.I remember my first visit in Springfield and the office mgr only commented to me oh you have great insurance they cover a lot. After my husband had a bridge done, my son bought the toothbrush and all the scaling we received we felt very deceived. Appointments we scheduled were canceled and we never are seen on time. I left the Springfield office with my family to Enfield office to only receive the same. I had an appointment today and was seen 25 min late. Then accosted by the hygienist telling me to get antibiotics. My last experience at my dental office I was at for over 10 years they greeted me with a smile I knew what I would be spending and they were upfront and honest. This seems like scam to get customers to spend over their qualifying insurance. I am not impressed and I will be calling my insurance to hopefully go somewhere else. read more

My 93 year old mother scheduled an emergency visit because she was experiencing pain. At previous visits she had decline some extensive work they wanted to do. The dentist again insisted that the $3000+ of work is what should be done. She told him "no" she needed the one tooth causing her pain dealt with. He proceeded to tell her he had other patients and did nothing for her. She's 93 on a fixed income. Not how I would expect a health care professional to handle an elderly person in pain. Terrifying experience with a female dentist on a Sat. Thought I might have scratched my gum and wanted to make sure it was not infected. After her exam she discovered I had to have several teeth pulled and then extensive services she would perform. Would never never ever go to this place. Went in for a partail. Had teeth removed and a temperary partial done and it was all supposed to be paid for up front. 6 months later when I came in to be fitted for my perminents they took a full set of x rays which they charged for without asking and told me they could not do the perminents unless I had 2 root cannels and crowns done first. At that point I said forget it I want my money refunded which they did. Eventually the tempory broke and I am curently having the perminents done elsewhere. My new dentist using the same x ray taken at Aspin is proceeding with no mention of root canal or crowns. Also my insurance company has denied my claim for saying Aspin claimed for perminents instead of temporary. I am about to file with the Insurance commission. If you use this place, watch your wallet. read more

Later the assistant Kellie was great with the subsequent reclining. Never had to wait more than a couple of minutes before someone saw me. Great payment options. Left with an estimate for $3k for a crown. Called my old dentist (no longer on my insurance). He reviewed my last X-ray and told me to run far away from that place. read more

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I am young and have a debilitating disease. I've never felt mistreated because of it, until today at Aspen Dental in Enfield. My disease involves very rigid muscles and brisk reflexes and due to that, I was unable to tolerate getting the full mouth series of x-rays they plan for each new patient. I was gagging and sobbing, and they kept insisting I finish. The first girl sent in a second person to try, and then eventually the grossly unprofessional doctor. Through my tears, I kept explaining my disease and that I wasn't overreacting or afraid of the dentist, but it fell on deaf ears. I was told that I absolutely would not be treated in their office without the full mouth series of x-rays (a big ticket item to bill to insurance companies). When I asked how they would accommodate my disability, the doctor told me it had nothing to do with my disability, threw my file down, and walked away. I left in tears and will never, ever go back to any Aspen Dental. read more

Visited the office for free dental evaluation They came up with two failing crowns and quoted me in excess of $4000 in treatment including antibiotics. I then went home and decided that spending upwards of $7000 a year on dentists was not a viable option for the future (am 58 years old). So, since I had previous very successful implants done in Costa Rica, started the process of having all extracted and replaced with'all on six' - six implants per arch and porcelain bridges on both arches. I was all set to go to Costa Rica in fve weeks when one of my failing crowns broke. I went back to Aspen Dental, saw Dr. Luu, and asked her for a clear retainer so that I could continue to work until I went to Costa Rica. She said, first of all that I was not a candidate for complete teeth extraction (I'm sure she would like me to spend my retirement savings in her office for the rest of my life) - and that she could not help me with a retainer, but could offer to extract the tooth, do bone grafting and make me a 'flapper' for the broken tooth. Ths extravagant and costly treatment was obviously not a solution for me at all. I went to a dentist in the Farmington Valley, where I live, and he said he would be happy to make me the retainer and that the dentist that refused to make me one was criminal. Dr. Luu has clearly no compassion at all for her patients and is only out to make a quick buck. Stay away from this dentist is all I can recommend. By the way I am having complete dental implants with two porcelain bridges done in Costa Rica, by American trained dentists, in beautiful clinics - at $15,000 instead of $60,000 in the States. read more

Had a great cleaning experience with Sarah the hygienist however will not be returning to this location. They advertise free first X ray and dental exam but than make you come in another day for your cleaning which isn't free. There is a visibly high turnover of actual dentists and a clear for profit attitude among the staff. Their "treatment plans" are usually designed to be as expensive as possible and focused on aesthetics if you don't have other problems. Whether you do or don't have dental insurance I strongly recommend you stay away! They will strong arm you into coughing up much more $$ than you planned on spending or even need! read more

Once my parents insurance provider changed we had to change Dental Offices. We decided to try out Aspen Dental since is was nearby and seemed clean and updated. The people there are very nice but I would never go again. You sign in and are waiting well over 10 minutes (tyoically 30) to be called back! This is very frustrating when you show up on time for your appointment. I've had xray done twice there and both times I have choked and my gums were bleeding to do the metal cutting them. The person taking the xray didn't seem too concerned about me being uncomfortable My hygenist, I belive her name was Sarah, was very nice and made the visits pleasant. However, they use this poking thing and use numbers 0-4 to determine your gum's health. The higher the number the worse it is. When someone is shoving a pointy thing in your gums of course the number will increase! I was told several times that I had gingivits... yet I had no inflamation at all. My preious dentist said that I had one little cavity that needed to be watched. How in 6 months did I miraculasly have SIX cavities that needed to be filled?! During one of my fillings the assistant shot the water down my throat and I was choking very badly. I raided my hand as instructed for them to stop so I could breathe and then when i was done they continued. I understand that was probably and accident but she should have paid more attention to what she was doing. Those around about 90 bucks a pop with our insurance so that was a lovely $540 probably spent incorrectly. My mom has to have scaling for her cleanings because she has some sort of gum disease that she inherited. The scaling cleaning are crazy expensive! Once you have one the office refuses to let you have a regular one and recommends you go every 3 months. Which means twice a year you are paying out of pocket for a cleaning that insurance won't cover. She was giving a perscruption mouthwash and toothpaste as a gift for her to try. At checkout she ended up paying over $100 for the both of them...Needless to say my mom went every 6 months. My dad had some cracked teeth because as a child when they did fillings they didn't cool the teeth and tools so over the years his teeth just cracked and were causing pain. He had to jump through hoops to schedule an appointment. Once he got in to have the teeth pulled the dentist said they were infected and might not numb up. Instead of letting him prepare for the pain, the dentist held his head tightly down and just started yanking them out. They didn't even hesitate when he started screaming and flailing his arms around. Once that was done he told them how that was not okay and to never do that again. They needed to mold his mouth for his partial now. They used the nasty mold stuff that goes down the back of your throat and chokes you. My dad tilted his head down so he could breathe and whoever was doing the molds pushed his head back up and held it there until he started choking and he pushed them off. They again didn't see anything wrong with this (this was a different person that the doctor that extracted his teeth). We will never go to another Aspen Dental again. They aren't there to help you, they are there to collect their money and get their paycheck. read more
