I really wish I could rate them lower than one star! This company sucked me in last year with their free new patient exam and xrays in April 2024. I also paid for a savings plan, but they threw so many numbers at me I'm not sure there were any discounts given. I had one tooth filled in May 2024 (terrible job--front tooth filling that doesn't match at all and has a ridge) and my next fillings were scheduled for 12-31-2024. Seriously...nearly 8 months to get a tooth filled??? I showed up for my 12-31 appointment and it was bad from the second I walked in the door. Before I could even take off my jacket, they made me pay $690+ for the services I was supposed to receive. Fine...whatever. But then they tried to take my blood pressure and it was a disaster! The BP cuff was so tight that it brought tears to my eyes, made me cry out in pain, and left bruises on my arm. After three tries, they said they couldn't give me anesthetic without a note from my doctor. I left having received NO services...and these con artists still put thru the $690+ charge on my credit card. It took me two months to get them to issue a refund. I found a new dentist and scheduled an exam/xrays, but decided to keep my cleaning appointment at Aspen in April. I checked in at the desk and was refused even a cleaning without a note from my doctor. I filled out the forms to have my records transferred to my new dentist, and assumed I was done with Aspen for good. No such luck...last night I noticed that they've put thru another $49 charge for their "savings plan", even though I'm no longer a patient there. I called today, and first was told they didn't charge me anything, then told me I have to call a different number...where I was told "sorry, no refunds". I've had to go thru my credit card bank to initiate a chargeback. The good news is, I absolutely love my new dental office - Southview Dental in Moorhead. Absolutely a relief to find them after surviving Aspen Dental. They even have a therapy dog! read more

If I could have left a NO star review I would have. 5 months ago my husband started the process of dentures. After having all top teeth extracted,multiple infections and no answers from the dentists at Aspen, we finally got answers from another place. Turns out not all roots were extracted which is what is causing the one side of his mouth to not heal and infection to keep setting in. It's pretty frustrating to pay $10,000 for extractions, temporary dentures and told your mouth should be fully healed in 6 months just to have it be a nightmare with no answers just "everything looks fine". I do not recommend going to Aspen especially if you're planning on having teeth extracted. It doesn't matter how nice the staff is, it is just a waste of hard earned money! read more

This is the perfect dentist if you have Alzheimer's. If you need anywhere from 7 to 10 confirmation emails, texts and calls 1 to 2 months before your appointment this is the place for you. I received no less than four text messages confirming my appointment time along with at least three emails confirming my appointment, along with a series of emails reminding me of the appointment. Then they actually called me a couple of days before to confirm my appointment time as well. Then an hour before my appointment they called me to come in earlier which I did because they had an earlier appointment available . Then when I got there they told me they weren't going to be able to get me in any earlier than my actual appointment time because the person who hadn't confirmed came in and so the opening was no longer available. My actual hygienist was okay although not the best hygienistic I've had. The actual dentist never even came in to review my teeth. I will be looking for another dentist because I don't feel like they are in tune with customers and the scheduling process needs cast improvement. They must get a lot of cancellations which maybe why they feel the need to "over confirm". To me it's super annoying and I don't need all of those interruptions. Feels like corporate dentistry. Extremely Unsatisfied with this dental experience. I have had other issues with this provider and other appointments. This was the straw that broke the camels back. read more

The most awful dental experience I have ever had. First of all it took them 15 minutes to bring me back, I didn't even get my teeth cleaned just an overall checkup and the appointment took an hour and a half, they then proceeded to ask if I wanted a cleaning after they had already brought me to the office and quoted me 5k. They did'nt even ask if I wanted clear aligners just put them on my treatment plan. Aligners are cosmetic they are not neccessary so to not ask is just wrong. they also tried to charge me for an electric toothbrush... if a dentist wasnt begging for money they wouldve just recommended you go to the store and buy a 10 dollar one. moving on to the actual appointment. Courtney, one of the dental assistants took me back. Never asked how I was doing or explained anything that was about to happen. She told me to sit in a chair and took a bunch of Xrays of my mouth again, never explaining what she was doing before doing it. I was clearly uncomfortable as I was tearing up with the way she was shoving the Xray material in my mouth, nothing was sanitized before or after I was done with my Xrays which is disgusting. She then tried to tell me I need to pay $35 for a cancer screening and my insurance will not cover it. after the hygienist walked in, their was similiar treatment. no "how are you" or anything. she began measuring my teeth and then poked at my mouth again, not asking if I was comfortable. The dentist is not a fun place for me or for many other people and they did nothing to make me feel comfortable. The doctor finally came in, didnt show me the 100s of Xrays they demanded be taken, and just told me I need a root canal.... excuse me, what tooth needs a root canal? why does it need a root canal? These are all things that should be explained to patients. Why wasnt I shown my Xrays? Finally after all three people saw me, I want with the financing lady to the office where she quoted me 5 thousand dollars and proceeded to ask if I want to set up financing... why in the world would I set up financing when you barley even explained what these charges are for. Oh and apparently I have 7 cavities... the doctor didn't say a word, its clear its a money grab. absolutely ridiculous. even when they called to confirm my appointment (after emailing me and calling me 4 times) the lady on the phone was so rude. have some respect. this is ridiculous. read more

Listed as a dentist covered by tda insurance. I requested a cleaning. They required xrays and exam 1st before cleaning After about 30 xrays and scans I was offered a periodontal cleaning costing 1200 after insurance. Asked if I could have just the cleaning I requested. No not able to do that. The process reminded me of buying a car after all the talk in showroom the closer sits you down and tells you the actual cost. The 60 sec with dentist was fine very professional although not a word about this required deep cleaning. Asked why the previous semi annual dental exams at previous dentist didn't detect Crickets. Having the manger meet with you to give info is not a style I understand. Should be a professional who gives evidence. read more

Last year I had an appointment set up, a week before hand I got a phone call saying that they needed to reschedule me. Well, that reschedule was for over a year out. They claimed that I would be told of any openings that came in before my May 2023 appointment, which never happened. Today I get a phone call from a woman telling me that I missed my appointment. I never got a reminder call/email, never confirmed anything. How convenient that my file was 'recovered' on the morning of my appointment. Absolutely ridiculous, I won't be coming back and don't recommend anyone else to come here either. read more

They're OK if you only need cleanings. Don't trust them with anything else. Their customer service is not there AT ALL. Every time you walk in the door, they try to make you pay for something (even if you already paid). I had crowns put on as well as a couple root canals performed by a different office. Had new partial lower because they couldn't adjust my partial to fit due to the crowns! The partial hurts like hell and actually pulled one of the crowns off. I can barely eat and that's not good after having open heart surgery. I will be going back next week for resolution or seeking litigation. read more

I have had a good experience at Aspen until today. My husband cracked his tooth he is in pain. The receptionist said she would talk to the dentist about an emergency visit and call me back well 2 hours later no call so I called her back she acted like she had no idea who I was and that she would put me on a call list for tomorrow Incase someone cancelled I said do you remember this is an emergency visit she acted like she didn't hear that at all and would put me on a call list for tomorrow if someone canceled. I was having a lot of pain and just needed to get into a dentist asap. Heard they took walk ins so I gave it a shot. 1st appointment they did all the xrays and let me know my molar was cracked causing the pain. Then scheduled me in the following week for 2 appointments for root scaling and planing and found they couldn't do anything with my cracked tooth and referred me elsewhere. 1st appointment went okay and then the 2nd was the WORST experience I had ever had! The dental hygienist not only stabbed me in my chin with the novacaine needle but my lip as well. She did not get my gums numb and was in so much pain I was sweating, whole time thinking I should just get up and walk-out. The only thing that was numb was my whole right side of my face and didn't go back to normal until 10pm that night! Of course the 1st appointment they signed me up for this great financing (eye roll) and plan of care and me not thinking this out signed it. These people only want your money and have BAD quality care. I recently went to aspen dental where I was charged to "hold a spot for an appointment" (which they suggested should be around 50 dollars ???) and was told it would be deducted from the charge of my next app. After my teeth cleaning they did not reduce the price and had some excuse saying they could "request a refund" for my down payment. The front desk worker was rude. They cleaned my teeth in a little under 10 mins. I have never been to a dental app where it took less than 30. A dentist did not come in to the app at all just a hygienist. Don't go here seriously the biggest waste of time and money read more

This is the worst place I've been in my life. Had to crowns I was supposed to get and a cavity filling. Paid for all of it in 2 different transactions. They cancelled my second crown and I called a month later after not hearing anything and it took them a week to get back with me, they didn't know where my crown was. I come in today to get it and after being told I owe nothing, I was then told in person I owed almost $1200 for this crown. Then the guy tries pushing me extensively to get a care credit card and asking repeatedly if someone can pay for it or if I can pay at least half. I reschedule so I can find my receipts showing I paid, then he calls me saying he made a mistake and that I owe nothing. What a joke. Never coming back. read more

I went to Aspen Dental to have a Root Canal done and a crown put on, they sent me out to get the Root Canal done but when it came to them needing to schedule the crown session I never heard from them. I then called in and apparently they couldn't find my paperwork from the partner that did the Root Canal and they claimed they were going to look into it and get back to me, I never heard from them. So here I sit with a hole in a tooth and no crown.... and luckily no Dental Insurance anymore thanks to my employer. This is the Fargo, ND 45th St. location that this review is meant for. read more

Wish I could give no stars. Took time off work and showed up for the first appointment 15 minutes early. I was told they canceled the appointment due to not confirming it. I didn't receive any phone calls or texts but they said they called me. Took time off work again and showed up early for the second appointment after "confirming" two different emails only to find out they canceled that one too. Apparently they need "verbal" confirmation. Maybe the email should say that then!!!! When asked which number they supposedly called it wasn't mine. They only cared that our "insurance forms" weren't filled out, and we didn't "verbally" confirm the appointment. We told them twice we didn't have insurance and that we were paying cash! I am giving a one star rating solely based on cost of procedures. Every person I encountered at Aspen Dental was professional, courteous and respectful. That being said, having no dental insurance and all costs for procedures conducted on my teeth would be paid for by me. As expected here in the United States it is very, very expensive for dental care, Especially if you do not have dental insurance. I have two teeth that require attention. One of my upper back molars needs to be pulled and one of my lower back molars needs a root canal and crown. Here at Aspen Dental (Fargo, ND) just to have a cleaning and the crown procedure done, the estimated cost they quoted me was $1880.00. I would be required to go to another orthopedic dentist to have the root canal perform and their quote was just under $1400.00. So for a cleaning, root canal and crown done on ONE tooth it would cost me around $3200.00! I have found that I can fly round trip (to Texas) and see a reputable dentist in Mexico and have an exam, x-rays, cleaning, molar pulled, root canal, prep for crown and a crown done for $600.00!!! Needless to say I will not be having any procedures performed either at Aspen Dental or any other dental business here in the United States. read more

I have moved many times so have had many dentists. The worst experiences I have had have been at Aspen Dental. The dentists don't bother to introduce themselves, have been overpaid by our insurance and refuse to refund the money. I was told I needed a cavity filled. Got a second opinion yesterday, no cavity. The turnover rate is so high I have never seen the same people working there each time I have been in. That includes everyone from dentist to receptionists. They are not sending in a correct claim for cleaning. I checked with my insurance and they will cover if they will resend the claim. They refuse. I had one extremely good experience with a dental hygienist Needless to say, she quit very shortly after. Too wise too late we have spent thousands. read more

Since my dentist retired two years ago, I've been bouncing around from dentist to dentist trying to find a home. I finally found an excellent dentist in Aspen Dental of Fargo. Dr. Johnson was extremely professional, answered all my questions, performed a pain-free exam complete with x-rays. I really like how she took the time to explain each item to me while patiently answering all of my questions regarding each procedure. The prices were about the same as others in the area. I do have dental insurance and they immediately set to working up a treatment plan along with the costs and by the end of my first visit, I had all the information I needed to make an informed decision regarding my dental care. I highly recommend at least giving them a try. I'm glad I did. read more

I had some serious reservations about going to a dentist due to previous experiences however Aspen came highly recommended so I made my appt.&went in. Initially the front desk staff was kind&helpful however even though I was 10 min.early for my appt.I waited an additional 30 min.to even begin with seeing anyone!Less than impressed!!When I finally got to see the tech.person she was also kind&helpful&proceeded through my xrays with speed&ease.Once the xrays were ready I waited about 15 min.to even see the dentist.Once I got into the dental chair,I had a pretty extensive exam&the dentist did pretty well in explaining each thing to me in detail.Up til this point I was relatively ok with my visit.Sononce all things were explained&an estimate was given to me,I said I would need a bit to think the estimate over as the price was well over $8k!!I understand dentistry is expensive but that was way more than I ever imagined!So later that same day,I called back&told the front desk person that I would proceed with the 1st phase of the treatment plan,she then informed me that changes had"come to light"regarding my treatment&that I would also need further extractions as well as crowns,several root canals&implants!!I was utterly dumbfounded!None of thus has been discussed@my in person visit!I told the front desk person I would need a bit of time to think all this information over.I took exactly 1 day&called them back,while talking with the front desk lady she told me yet more changes had been added to my treatment plan!By this time I was totally frustrated with the whole process!The front desk lady said she would speak with the dentist&call me back.I waited for a return phone call from Aspen for over a whole week!!It was only after I made a appt.with another local dentist did I get a phone call from them!By this time I was beyond angry!!I even got a email from the regional director asking me about the details of my visit.Trying to answer her email was a nightmare as you needed a special code to get to her email so U sent her a email regarding my visit from my personal email...that was over a month ago&I haven't heard a word from Aspen dental since!!Save your time&money...DO NOT GO TO ASPEN DENTAL in Fargo,ND!!There are oodles of other dentists in town,go there instead. read more

This place is only interested in how much you have in your wallet. After going through my insurance and then paying almost 1500 up front and being told that this is all I'll have to pay for the work that needs to be done, they then ask for another 800 after having about half of the work done. Basically lied to me about costs, will not offer a payment plan like they tout on TV, and basically will not finish their work until I come up with another 800. So while I try and figure that out I'm sitting with a mouth half done. Very dishonest company. Once this is done I'm going to find a real Dentist and stay with them. Awful. I went in for regular check-up, and also had a sore tooth i wanted them to check out. I came out needing 8 fillings and a root canal on the opposite side of my sore tooth. I then went to get a 2nd opinion because I've had pretty healthy teeth all my life, and 8 fillings seemed excessive. I used the same dentist to recheck my teeth as the one who I was referred to for my root canal, and after that appointment all I needed was a cap or filling of some sort for a chipped tooth, and a root canal on the tooth I came in and complained of when I had originally went to Aspen; the tooth I was referred for was just fine. Shady. I was about ready to dish out $3,000 for unnecessary dental work. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

I don't even know where to start! Went in for a tooth extraction and got it extracted. Was told one of my bottom teeth was rotting and it should be removed and get a lower partial. Already missing 2 lower back teeth, so decided to have the tooth removed and get the lower partial. Had to make an advance payment of $740.36 towards the services. Scheduled that extraction and to get my lower partial for their last with hours for Saturday March 24,2018 (no more weekends being open) Got a call and voicemail there was some water damage at the office and would have to reschedule my appointment. Finally after numerous attempts to get it scheduled was able to get in on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 9:00am. Got there had to make another advance payment of $238.94. Now remember they have NOT billed my insurance anything at all! Got brought back and had to wait almost 45 minutes for the dentist. Finally came in, extracted my tooth, immediately put a lower partial in my mouth. I asked her to please look at the extraction site of my previous extraction to make sure it was healing okay because I was still having some pain, she took a quick look said it was fine. She and other members of the office were in more of a hurry to make it to a job fair, then to make sure you take the time to explain anything to your patient and make sure everything is healing. I spent the entire weekend in major pain!! I could barely get the lower partial out of my mouth to clean it and getting it back in was worse than having tooth pain. I thought I was going to go through the roof from the pain when putting the partial back into my mouth. Monday April 9, 2018 at 7:25am called the dental office to get into see the dentist. Girl named Kristi answered the phone I explained to her the pain I was in and she asked to put me on hold to talk with the doctor, female came back on the phone (I assumed it was Kristi) and said the soonest they could get me in was Tuesday April 10, 2018 at 4:00pm. I made the appointment went home and took more ibuprofen and iced my mouth. I guess I wasn't as important of a patient now that they had $979.30 of my money. Got into the dentist office at 3:45pm, signed in, and waited. The "receptionist" if that's what you can call her, finally asked me what I needed I said I signed in and I have an appointment at 4:00pm. She looked at her computer screen and said I don't have an appointment for you. I explained to her how I had called the day before spoke with Kristi told her what was going on she got back on the phone and told me they could see me Tuesday at 4:00pm. She said just a minute went into the back came back out and said "they do not have me at for an appointment but if I would like to wait the doctor might be able to get me in" yes I lost it! I told her that was not acceptable and attempted to explain to her the pain I was in from the partial in my mouth. Another employee I don't know or maybe a biller don't know her name, asked what the problem was I then said the problem is this I took the lower partial out of my mouth trying not to cry from all the pain that even taking it out caused said my mouth is full of sores I cannot eat anything drink anything I can't sleep because of all the pain. I looked at them both and said here is your partial back keep it refund my money every penny! For the first time during this entire conversation I was told that this was only an "immediate partial" The dentist had never even told me that! I guess she was too worried about getting to her job fair and really didn't care now that they had my money. I left the dental office in tears from all the pain I was in proceeded to call my flex benefit company spoke with them and then call the 800 number for Aspen dental spoke with a gentleman by the name of Andrew who got to listen to my entire story and I did let him know before I even started talking that if it came across that I was upset with him I apologized I had of time because I was not upset with him personally he took down my entire information asked me what I would like to happen and I said all I want is the money refunded to me for the partials I never got and I gave back. He then got my email address, phone number and told me he would send this information to someone and patient satisfaction or some department and that someone would call me explain to me that the corporate offices were in New York in case a New York number came up on my phone and apologize for how I had been treated and what had happened which is more than I have gotten from anybody in Fargo Aspen dental office. Seven weeks later and I have heard from NO ONE AT ALL!!! What can you do to make my experience better??? refund my $979.30 and submit an adjusted correct dental claim to my insurance refunding them back for services not rendered!! I'm sure you know how that goes you file an XX8 Type of bill (or whatever type you use for dental cancel claims) to my insurance canceling out the fraudulent charges! read more

Worst office I've ever been to. I had a cracked tooth and call right away monday morning at 7:30am. Even though i was in pain, they couldn't fit me in for 2 days. I come in for my appointment today which was scheduled at 2:15, by 2pm. After waiting for an hour and seeing many patients come and go , I went to the front desk. I asked how much longer it was going to be. They looked surprised why I would even be asking. Ummm, hello, I've been sitting for an hour with no one even saying a word. They inform me that they will have to see how much longer it will be. I explain I run a home business and have someone stepping in and can't waist anymore time. They said they understood, but didn't apologize for the delay. They should've called and said to come at a later time or at least told me it would be at least a hour wait until I am seen. Worst customer service ever and I have never seen such a horribly ran office. The lady tried to explain that they were short on dentist's one dentist was seeing twice the amount of patients and that caused the delay. I'm just speechless. Now I still have a crack in my tooth, but thankful I found another dentist office on the other side of I94 that can fit me in for a filling tomorrow. read more

I had a broken tooth that was hurting. With no dental insurance I call Aspen because they say the do extractions. Was there for 2 hours for x-rays and exam. Explained that the tooth really hurt and I just wanted it removed. After the 2 hours exam they send me into what turns out to be a billing specialist. She explains a $7000.00 plan! Also tells me I need 5 teeth pulled, by an oral surgeon, and dentures...she tried to get me to sign this plan of action. I did not. Told her that's too much money. I just needed the one tooth pulled right now. Left and doctored tooth myself. Several months later I started having problems. Called them to see if they could just pull it, then I would do a cleaning. They never called me back. I found an emergency dentists that took the tooth, aspen said they couldn't, right out. A simple extraction with no issues. I decided to look up reviews about Aspen because I was feeling weird about them...My feelings were right. Read reviews. It feels as though they want to get you into a "paid plan" they make excuses for. I understand taking care of over all health. But a normal dentist would care about a patient, get necessary and preventative things done immediately. I dont like the underlying deceit Aspen seems to base their practice on. Would rather pay for dental insurance than deal with people like that. read more

Not the experience I was expecting. It was hard to take x-rays because the thing they put in your mouth poked the roof of my mouth and I couldn't breathe. The DA said to breathe through my nose but I can't and weren't apologetic at all. No empathy! They do a very comprehensive exam which is great but no one seemed very personable. The feeling I got was not a patient but just another person they saw that day. I will not be back and will not be referring or recommending anyone to Aspen Dental in Fargo. read more

I'm at least giving a one star because of the friendliness of my dentist and hygienist I worked with. The financial staff were rude and had no clue what they were doing. People, if you go here and have insurance CHECK YOUR EOB STATEMENTS!!!! They over charged on every filling! I had an antibiotic injection that they said insurance never pays for, well mine did and they still charged me full price $79! I had multiple procedures done on two separate appointments and over paid them by $134 and they still wanted more $$ on my 3rd visit. After showing them what they had been doing, with proof of my EOB statements, they claimed that if it's not in their system that way they OVER estimate the cost on procedures until the insurance company pays them. Has anyone heard of such an asinine statement? I was seriously baffled. The gal claimed they do that so the patient has a credit at the end instead of getting a bill? SMH! I'm sorry but I'd rather keep my money in my pocket instead of Aspen Dental holding it hostage until they get paid by the insurance (which is not the patients problem) We all know how easy it is to get your money back in these types of situations. I will be cancelling my next appointments due to the fact of a poorly run corporate business. Stick to the mom and pop small dental, they have more respect for their patients. read more
