On 1-9-2024 I returned to Cotter & Easton Dentistry for a dental cleaning after a 3 year absence. I…read morereceived the expected x-rays and exam. I was then told by the dental hygienist (I never saw Easton) that a "deep cleaning" was recommended. I was not informed that a "deep cleaning" was going to cost me more than 10 times my out of pocket cost for a covered dental cleaning. It doesn't stop there. After receiving a bill, I discovered that the dentist was no longer "participating" with BCBS Medicare PPO Advantage. I was not informed of that change. If I had been informed of that change I would have sought treatment elsewhere. So I was lied to and deceived about the increased cost of the recommended treatment and I was lied to (by omission) about the participation status of Easton. As mentioned my first visit was Jan. 9, 2024. To my surprise they scheduled me for Jan. 10 and Jan. 11 for treatment, which I found very fast and unusual. After reviewing the insurance claims filed by Easton, I realized why - they wanted to bill as much as they could before I realized their deception. I immediately stopped treatment, but I had already been charged nearly $750, for a cleaning! At the least, this is unethical and predatory behavior. Stay away.

Taking advantage of elderly patients and letting them sit with pain and making the patients return their teeth out of anger is not right at all. I phoned to speak with him directly but instead he phoned my elderly mother (RIGHT AFTER my fathers death) and ridiculed her leaving her humiliated and sad. An absolute horrible experience. My mother went somewhere else, after being left with NO TEETH for four months and her smile is beautiful again and the process was so easy and much faster.

Whenever I was home from college, Dr Ralph would pop in and ask me about how everything was going at Michigan (he went there for dentistry). The people at the front desk have been there forever and also remember me by name every time I go in, and I've had the same hygenist (Janice) every single time, who is amazing. He fixed the problem, which was extensive, by himself. Wonderful man. Helped me into the office (I have trouble walking and use a walker), and helped me back into my car and loaded my walker back into the car for me. A real gentleman. Their chair side manner is very professional but comfortable. She seems very knowledgeable in her field. She explains everything. She asks questions. I was very impressed. She will be my permanent dentist now. I only wish I made the changeover sooner. Thank you Dr. Adams for everything you've done for me so far and what you will do! I needed an antibiotic and the staff was on top of the call right away to the pharmacy. I could not have asked for better treatment. It's hard to find some one or any company that you can trust, relax and rest assured she is a good one!
