I went in for a root canal and a crown on 4/1/26 I almost didn't go because I've been in a lot of pain due to a torn rotator cuff I knew it would hurt having to lay back on my shoulder But I decided to go and I told them what was going on And they were amazing they were very careful not to hurt me One of the nurses got a towel and put it under me for a little cushion The whole staff was great As for my root canal it went great I thought I'd be in some pain today or at least have a sore mouth But I'm not in any pain at all from the root canal or shots that they gave me read more

I had an appointment there last week and overall it was a good experience. I hadn't seen a dentist in a while and was a little nervous about what they'd find. The clinical team was very professional and really put me at ease. Heather the dental hygienist was especially helpful. She seemed very knowledgeable about oral hygiene, gave me some tips on maintaining gum health, and did a great job cleaning my teeth. My sole issue with them arises with their business manager, a woman who goes by the name Cassie. To make a long story short I initially took out a loan to cover the cost of any work that would be done in the future. Naturally this money gets forwarded to them in advance which I suppose is the norm these days. When you take out a loan of this type they tell you up front that you have 5 days from the time you take out the loan to cancel it . I called back within 48 hours and informed this Cassie lady that I would no longer be using their services and requested a refund. I paid my balance for the services rendered in full, at which point she told me the money would be returned within 48 hours. It has been nearly a week now and that has not occurred. I am considering escalating the issue to the North Carolina Department of Justice for further action. Just as an aside I should note that the Better Business Bureau gives this particular office in F rating, with 16 complaints in the last several years. read more

CUSTOMER BEWARE...... Everything could improve. Save your time and money by choosing somewhere else. Overpriced and still overcharging customers, unprofessional, paralyzed part of my face and couldn't get a return call from doctor. Finally showed up at office and claimed he had never heard of such a thing. When I questioned if he thought he might have hit a nerve, he deflected and never admitted that is probably what happened. Didn't try to reassure me or anything. Guess I was imagining it. Stitches fell out and he tried to charge me for having to redo them. I could keep writing but you get the gist of it! I'm just gonna share my experience with this place They aren't for the patients at all I came in there for a teeth cleaning and an extraction they me $2005. I put my wife's name for a reference and can call back and get my information they wouldn't give her nothing so I called back for the second time and added and they still wouldn't give her no damn information. This place is about the rudest place that I've ever been to in my damn life if you want to go don't go here cause you're gonna be greatly disappointed. All they want is your money. read more

The front desk receptionist is so rude & dismissive & sighs at any little thing & makes things super uncomfortable- she should get a new job if this isn't for her. They overcharge you here & it's just not worth it. RUN!!!! Friends and family don't let their friends and family attempt to get dental care from this place. They often change appointments in Gastonia and send you to his other site. Matthieu Murphy (I refuse to call him "Dr.") cannot keep staff, including dentists and surgeons in this office. He makes up the cost as he goes, I have had estimates change not by a few dollars either, I mean by thousands. He had to either fire or force the resignation of his office manager, Cody. Money went missing. When I questioned about how much my final surgery would be, the person covering the office manager quoted and additional $25,000. When I told them I was escalating to the headquarters and to the state oversight office, the price suddenly went to $10,000. I had already paid close to that, they will take advantage of you and your family. I am suppose to have a warranty on my partial and the upper one cracked. They told me that I had to wait until Murphy came back from paternity leave. In two months that child will be 2. When they do answer the phone, its always to ask you to wait on an answer. read more

I'm at the last step needing to be measured for my permanent partial only to be told it would be another 1770. (1year later)The first est didn't include the last and final step. I'm only giving this place one star because I can't give none. Made an appointment a month ago for Saturday confirmed the appointment via email and text also received a confirmation text at 1 pm the day before, yet when I showed up on time I was told that because I didn't receive a voicemail the day before my appointment was canceled. Like how?? Also that girl at the front desk was one babysitting a child and two so rude. I just really don't know how some places could care less about the people they have giving customers service, it's apparent she wasn't taught how to speak to people. Really sad. read more

Bring your Gold Card - Trained in upselling more than dental school - from a $30.00 cancer screening to a $5000 implant. Came in to see about having a broken tooth crowned. I just left Aspen Dental - they did x-rays and an examination. They refused to do just the crown - had to have all cleaning done, etc with a total of $1700 out of pocket. Like taking your car to Jiffy Lube - you can't get just a oil change - you have to listen to all the upgrades and add ons. Does any one try to get their customer a good deal - nope - they get all they can and are good at it - have been versed in saying the right verbiage. read more

They just kept saying oh we need you to speak to the office manager first so she can explain your treatment plan to you. really???Waste of time. Full Dentures - I have had 3 sets of dentures. First two were great and lasted a very long time. With the first set I only took them out to clean. I wore it 24/7. Replaced because it had worn so thin that it developed a crack. However, the teeth looked like false as did the next 2. The 3rd set was done by A D a little over 5 years ago. I had lost 5 teeth before I got the appointment with Aspen Dental. While waiting the 9 days for my dentures I lost another tooth. Went to Aspen Dental in Gastornia for an appointment. Showed them pictures of my teeth while in School. Said, can you make my teeth look like these and not like dentures. I am 100% pleased with my teeth. They are just what the doctor orders. I was contacted by Brianna from Rhw Gastonia office about an issue I had. I met with the owner 11/16. He listened closely understood my concerns and i listened to Him. we resolved concerns we both had about the issues I experience, he fixed my immediate issue, did not charge me and set up a program for future care. Due to my current situation I would need to seek insue coverage to follow their recommendations-or obtain a loan. I came to aspen dental,I was totally scared of going to dentistbut,these people were so kind and gentle of my fears and I had my teeth extracted and dentures put in and the young girl that did my extractions I didn't even know when she was finished.Didnt feel a thing till she put my dentures in. Came in as a walk in on a Saturday, they got me in fairly quickly. They done an extensive x-ray and exam and addressed my issues. Dr Murphy had wonderful bedside manner and done an incredible job with relieving my emergency tooth pain. Madison was wonderful on assisting. LeAnne upfront was wonderful as well. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!! I called to make my first appointments for my son and I, three months ago. They have you come for an initial visit with xrays and then a second appointment for a cleaning. I never saw the dentist at my cleaning appointment. My son's appointment was cancelled, without my knowledge, although they claimed to have called but never left a message. I have never experienced such a unprofessional, careless, poorly run style of dentists office. These types of dentist's offices are the equivalent of getting your hair cut in a walmart. I tried calling the Patient Satisfaction team after a comment on my google review but no one answers and you just hear hold music for a long time. When the office manager called me to discuss the google review, she admitted that they closed the office on Saturday and admitted that no one left a voicemail. read more
