I was diagnosed as having periodontal issues in 2022 and advised to have regular care. So, I signed up for dental insurance through Metlife Dental VADIP. Aspen Dental asked that I pay them $1000 up front and they would then get reimbursement from the insurance plan. This never happened. For my following periodontal treatment, we came back to the Midwest early from Arizona for the dental appointment, only to find they had cancelled my appointment because they said I had not paid my bill...this was after paying them a total of almost $1500. Since then, I have called Metlife Insurance, Aspen Corporate, and Aspen Grand Forks dozens of time to get this all settled. I have spent countless hours on the phone, all in vain. Metlife Insurance has no record of claims from Aspen Dental. Its just not happening, and now on 31 December 2024, over two years later, I am giving up and cutting my loss. read more

Went in for a broken tooth, had to go through a comprehensive exam as a first time patient which I didn't care for but Allison got it done super quickly (my dental provider is in another state and im away atm). Everyone was very friendly and accommodating and they had time so we got my tooth fixed in the same visit and it looks great. I don't write reviews normally but i was reading these beforehand and I think the staff here deserve a better rating. It is a corporate kind of business so expect corporate bullshit. Like the pr rep that will probably respond to all the online ratings. Also, it's their job to tell you about your filthy teeth so don't complain when they tell you that you need a cleaning and their corporate standard is probably to try and schedule one for you even though you didn't want one And it's not what u came in for. After scheduling my brother out 6 months for a filling on the first we call today on the 30th to confirm his appt just to be told not only did he need to revering his insurance after only being there 6 months ago( no prob) but that also they'd have to reschedule! With NO explanation! And then she hung up because I started to ask in frustration why he wasn't contacted and his appt literally tomorrow! No call in 6 months about insurance verification or rescheduling! so I called back and got another just as ignorant front desk woman again now w the only explanation that they're computers went down a month and a half ago and placed me on hold to never come back on the line again what does that have to do w you guys reaching out to people letting them know this information? You've had 6 MONTHS !!! Not only are they disorganized they're rude avoid these people this isn't the first instance and you can clearly see from the reviews in grand forks this is a reoccurring thing. I got in pretty quickly for my initial scans. had to book out 3 months for the next appointment. I received a call the day before saying my appointment was cancelled. I work 12 hour shifts and can't get to my phone so I called back ASAP and they said I hadn't confirmed the appointment so they cancelled it and filled the spot already. I asked if they had called, texted, or emailed. and they said they should have but their systems haven't been working. then said they can reschedule me for 7 months out was the next appointment. read more

This place is a joke. I have terrible teeth and decided my best bet was dentures. I saw the tv advertisment for Aspen and their denture services offering 20% off and how happy people were so I took the bait. I went in and they did an exam and xrays and what not and then TOLD me what they were gonna do. when I asked about dentures, which is why I went there, they wouldn't even discuss it and said their treatment was going to cost $23,000! Scheduled my appt a month in advance for 9:00am, was bombarded with text messages to confirm and remember appt, confirmed appt three times by text message and once verbally to the number they send you via text message. when I did get a hold of them verbally had them note about tooth pain for the third time to express urgency . note I had just moved to the overnight shift after Easter 7pm-7am so during the time that I was sleeping I was expected to answer and confirm the appt with their office because I was told that the other confirmations that I did confirm were corporate and had nothing to do with there schedules and only to be turned away at 8:50 am the day of my appt. asked to speak with manager was told she is going into a meeting..... and would call me. read more

Had a dental emergency, explained the severity of why was going on and the scheduled didn't seem interested in what was going on with me and told me that they might be able to get me in next week, I explained I'm in so much pain it's made me vomit and she goes "maybe you go to urgent care then" as if they do dental work? The only reason I went there to begin with is because it's the only place in town that takes my insurance but I know I'll never be returning there again. read more

I have never written a YELP review before, but I am so upset with the service I received today. I made an appointment with Aspen Dental for a cracked tooth that is very painful. They called and left me a voicemail saying they just needed to get some information for me around 12 the day before my appointment, while I was at work. I was able to call back after 3pm and they told me that their policy is to cancel appointments if they do not hear back from patients by 3pm. The person who made the appointment did not say there was a policy, nor did the voicemail indicate that. I was a new patient with none of that information. They offered to reschedule my appointment for a week later, as if that was helpful! It is extremely disappointing that they would do this to someone who was coming in for an emergency visit. read more

I've found this Aspen Dental location to be relatively well managed and staffed with knowledgeable dental professionals. During my first appointment--a check-up and cleaning--I had a great experience. The hygienist was friendly and professional, and the dentist was helpful in identifying an issue from my x-rays and providing a recommendation to a specialist for further treatment. Later, when I returned to have follow-up treatment performed, my experience was less-than-stellar. I was numbed in preparation for the procedure, but then left to wait for nearly thirty minutes. The doctor apologized upon his return, and got quickly to work, but when there were moments where I had to wait on some part of the process, I was left in the chair much longer than was necessary. At one point, I left the room to find someone that could help me remove an impression that had been setting in my mouth more than twice the amount of time the doctor said was needed. This sort of thing happened a couple of times. While I'm pleased with the end-result of my treatment there and everyone was quite nice, it seemed like the doctor was over-worked and over-booked. I imagine I spent about an hour longer there than I really had to with all the unnecessary waiting. And I understand there are some aspects of dental practice that are unpredictable, and perhaps there was a struggling patient in another room, but it seems like their scheduling practices allow for these kinds of things without compromising the expedience and quality of the patient's experience. read more

This is the worst place you can imagine. Of course, everyone will smile for you once you're there. But all they are after is money. It is really ugly when dental service is all they care about is your money rather than your health. They tried to force me to do some unnecessary procedure that would cost $1,800. They even said they would not offer any treatment unless they did this unnecessary procedure. I said I will have to go to another provider and started to walk out of the door and then when they realized they would lose a CUSTOMER they said ok. I had a crown there and sadly it fell off the next day in my sleep. I was luck I didn't swallow it. I went there and asked for a fix or a refund and they REFUSED. I had to write their regional manager to approve a refund. Then after a couple of months, I checked my account and they fund was not there. Six months later and more than 30 emails I finally got my refund. I hate this place and advise you never to go there. read more

I was so VERY DISAPPOINTED with the Aspen Dental office Business Office Staff in Grand Forks, ND. I bought my dentures there in 2018, less than 3 years ago and both front teeth have fallen out at different times. One last July and one last week. I phoned them before 8:00 am the following Monday morning and they told me I couldn't get my dentures fixed until the next Monday. I had to miss a week of work, as I work very close with the public every day and refuse to be seen without my front tooth. I was given a 7:30 am appointment for the following week. I live 80 miles from them, so I spent the night in a motel in GF to be sure I'd make my appointment. When I got there, I found they'd cancelled my appointment because they didn't get a verbal confirmation from me. They were calling my work phone and I obviously wasn't at work. They told me it was OK because no one had filled my 7:30 appt. spot. I went to my appointment, talked to the Dr for about 3 minutes, he said yes, they could fix my dentures. When he came back from the lab, he said I could pick up my dentures after 4:30 PM! Last July, when I had the other tooth fixed, they had me come back in 2 hours. What was I suppose to do without any upper dentures for a full day being away from home. Believe me, you don't go out to eat. This was quite unnerving to say the least. I asked them to call me if my dentures were done sooner and low and behold, I got the call @ 10:35 AM. There was absolutely no empathy for the patient in that business office. I am a Business Office Manager and believe me, our clients are not treated the way I was. I am VERY THANKFUL for my staff and their caring and professionalism. read more

When I came to Aspen Dental I was so nervous about what they were going to say because it had been a while since I was able to make it to the dentist. When I first came in and they were inputting information about me they had asked about some of my medical background. I hesitantly shared with them that I was diagnosed with chronic PTSD and a suffered from sever anxiety because of that. The receptionist then cared enough to ask me about any triggers I may have had. Honestly, these questions are so important and I even thanked her for asking. I was surprised about how mindful she was about that because even I didn't think about how the lights/ sounds/ sensory could possible trigger an anxiety attack for me. Every time I came in since then I was always greeted by a smile from everybody. It wasn't even in that forced "I have to do my job so I'm faking this smile" professionalism - it was actually very genuine from all of them. While getting my teeth cleaned I was nervous because it had been a long time and I didn't know the whole routine at first. The person who deep cleaned my teeth was so friendly. She first got to know me. Started a conversation with me about things that I like to do. It helped me feel comfortable like I wasn't getting my teeth done by a stranger. She then told me the entire routine that she was going to do. Reassured me that I could take breaks. She even, believe it or not, hummed a brief tune when she was turning on the high powered water tool (that sounds like a power tool sort of) so that it was drown out the other sound. Just knowing that someone took that much effort to do something like that because they wanted me to feel comfortable and free of anxiety during my visit means the world to me. They don't treat this like a job, they treat it like a public service. And they are truly great. I will always recommend them to others. Friends, family, someone in the grocery line. You name it. I had a good experience here. I was traveling on business and broke a temporary crown. I was able to call and get an appointment for the following day. They did take a lot of x-rays, and called in a hygienist, none of which i felt was necessary but they took care of me, and make a new temporary crown. I went in just for just a normal check up for my guard unit. 6 months ago I had to go see a different dentist and he said I had no issues. Today though, you would think I had a garbage mouth. The dentist went through and in 30 seconds decides I need ALL of my old dental work redone for "preventative reasons"...... so a $5k quote later I walk out and write this less than stellar review. Never again. I do not have dental insurance so I took them up on the free consultation and x-rays. What a joke and a total scam. I was told that I needed $5200 worth of dental work and then offered financing, which of course I was approved for up to $8500 so I could get the rest of the family in also. I scheduled an appointment to get a tooth pulled a month down the road and left. A week later I called because my tooth was acting up and I was in pain so I was wondering if I could get an antibiotic. I was told that I could not get anything until 10 days before my appointment so I guess I was just expected to suffer. I then called another dentist, who got me in the same day and guess what, I was told I only needed the one tooth pulled and that I had one other cavity. Ummm, how do I go from needing work done on just about every tooth in my mouth to only one that needed to be pulled and another with a cavity? I'm so glad I went to the other dentist! It was worth the money and really I ended up saving a ton. I feel bad leaving such a negative review but I also feel like they were lying and just trying to make as much money off me as possible. Funny thing is that had they been willing to help me out when I was in pain, I would have never called the other dentist and found out the truth. read more
