I have been going to Aspen Dental for a little over a year now, I just started with the office in Lakewood NY. When I started going there things got off a little rocky, as time progressed I have been treated exceptionally great. From Office Mgr. Jacob, all the dental assistant, Amy, Alexis, and Lisa, exceptionally Lab Tech Tracie. But most of all Dr. Veena. They all have been very informative before any procedures. Paid these guys almost $7k out of pocket. Went in because of filling that the dentist put in not even 8 months ago came out.. Had an abcess and tooth was throbbing. Was told by office manager that I would have to get X-rays. Before I went in the website showed they had available appointment at 5:30 when the appointment setter called there she said it went to voicemail so I went in. This same office manager told me that I would have to make an appointment. ?? I was there at 5:15 and no other patients were there. Absolutely no compassion for a disabled veteran? I have had my dentures for less than 4 years. They have a 7 year warranty on them. In august I had my lower denture in my hand brushing it and it snapped in half. They repaired it. It has happened 2 more times since. I take the denture in again and they tell me they are too busy I have to come in in a couple days. They keep putting me off. I just want a new lower denture made. read more

The dentist did a filling when he should have done a root canal, which resulted in a terribly abscessed tooth, ER visit, having the abscess drained and having to have a root canal anyway (at a different office, thank god). I did have to go back for the crown placement there and 2 days later if fell out. I sent my husband to Aspen Dental in Lakewood, NY. with my upper denture that needed a tooth replaced. I haven't been there for three years as I felt I didn't need any thing. I am unable to get out so I thought he could take them to get the tooth replaced. They said they haven't seen me in three years which has nothing to do with replacing the tooth . I don't need a impression as my denture fits very well. As I said I don't get out, am 83 years and would like my denture fixed. The denture was also made at Aspen Denture around three years ago. I am so disappointed in your service and staff that refused to help. Please have them fix my denture without me being there. I need them asap. read more

The oral surgery I received here went fine. As per Aspens policy we had to pay for the entire surgery upfront. The issue is, I was told my insurance would cover a large portion and I would be reimbursed. Upon waiting for approval of my claim from insurance I was informed by my insurance company that Aspen dental hasn't updated their information in the National provider registry so my insurance couldn't complete the claim. After many calls and months later of notifying them of their error they still haven't updated in the registry and I am still out over a thousand dollars my insurance would have covered. Every time I call Aspen corporate or this branch I am told they are working on it but at this point it's been 5 months and I'm still out all the money I should have been reimbursed. read more

The extraction need was Wisdom teeth. They told me I had to pay in full before they would make the appointment. I paid around 500.00. The scheduled that appointment for 6 week later... Fast forward to today I bring my son is for surgery and the, surgeon we were told, just looked at the exrays and he wanted another 535. Or we would have to reschedule. It is my understanding that wisdom teeth that need to come out are in fact impacted and that's why they need extracted. The surgeon said they are impacted that's why we need double the money. 1st of all why didn't you look at the exrays before making a feed for the procedure. Bait and switch complete abuse of power and stealing funds from its patients. While here today waiting for my son I have watch at least 3 families upset and raped by this branch of aspen dental So sad. read more

Both my husband and I went to Aspen Dental because we relocated here from another area and needed to continue our normal routine dental care. They somehow lost my appointment so upon arrival they didn't have it. But the service desk people were helpful and explained the appointment system had been broken for a couple of week and not repaired. I should have left then. They never asked for my dental history - ever. No records request or anything. Big red flag. They then tried to sell me a bunch of services I did not need - cancer screening $30 bucks. Sorry guys that is part of your normal job as a doctor - you don't get to charge extra for that. And then to my horror, I suddenly, after great checkups, now have serious gum disease that requires spending lots of $$! So glad they were able to catch it after all these years of competent dentists overlooking it. I don't think so. They actually refused to do a normal cleaning, which is why I came in. I have had cleanings every six months for years and good checkups from competent doctors. Interestingly, they told my husband he had the same brand new conditions, and I could hear them telling the patient in the next two rooms the same thing. Must be a crazy phenomena in the area that is rotting all of our teeth - and in 6 months time they go from great to rotten! This should be all over the news - "Jamestown Residents - Losing their Bite". All kidding aside, this is what is known as a dentistry Scam. Do yourself a favor - read all of the lawsuits on Aspen Dental. They are Private Equity backed. It is not legal in the state for a non dentist to own a dental practice, so they put one in the "front" but then the organization is actually run by corporate investors. They want to make money quickly and to do so they upsell and push unnecessary services. Do not go here, ever. Go to a competent dentist and do your research in advance. read more

The Aspen Dental in Lakewood is brand new. I called to make an appointment because I could not get in to see my regular dentist and was having some tooth sensitivity (my thinking was a cavity). When I showed up on time for my appointment, I sat in the waiting area for about 20 minutes and was brought to the back. From there, I was out back for over 2 hours while they took me from room to room doing x-rays and exams with various staff. It was quite the production. The facility is beautiful, I'll give them that. After the x-rays and exams it was nothing but high pressure sales tactics from there. I was escorted to a sales office with one of their office managers. After having a relatively decent dental history, somehow I needed thousands of dollars worth of dental work and gum/tooth antibiotics for the rest of my life... that my insurance mysteriously did not cover. They wanted me to make my appointment right away so I didn't lose any more function in my teeth or jaw. I opted to take a rain check. After leaving, I looked online and found thousands of reviews and stories all similar to mine as well as a various reputable news outlets (including PBS) who did investigative reports on high pressure sales tactics and scams from the dental chain. I called my own dentist to explain to them what had happened and they made an appointment for me to come in. Surprise, surprise... the doomsday that was pitched to me was exaggerated. PLEASE get a second opinion if you choose to go to Aspen Dental. Also to note, despite all their ads suggesting that the exam and x-rays were all free, they sent a claim to my dental insurance anyways (which I intend to fight). read more

Do not waste your time or money!! This place is a rip off with zero compassion! The staff laughed at my daughters anxiety and Surgeon refused to remove her wisdom teeth because of it. I'd give a zero if I could !!! Nothing but problems with this place beginning with payment. First off, our insurance covered $1,000 and it took the staff over a month to submit it correctly to our insurance. Then they made the mold weo g and from then on, over a year now, the denture have fit correctly and 3 days ago a took fell out of it. Now they won't admit the d ntures were made improperly, since day 1, not they expect us to wait at least 10 days while they glue the tooth back it. The plate has never fit correctly, we've been back at least a dozens times. One year later , they still don't care. They said right now it's under warranty. I've never been treated this disrespectful and these dentures are supposed to last year's ? Made qro g to begin with and I'm expected to live with incorrect dentures, ayt a 6k price tag. And ontop of it all, the place 20 minutes away and wasting my time and has to be treated badly ?? I just filed with the BBB on line and would never recommend this place to anyone !!! Dentist is fine, office has state of the art equipment, but the customer service area/counter has undergone a change and not for the better. Customer service is horrible! I Had gone to the location in Fredonia ( once you get past the high sales to do not needed work, it was ok, just say no) thinking it's closer to me, & i'm in the system. I called the new beautiful Lakewood office, set up an appointment told them I had the same insurance. Receptionist didn't sound like she knew what's going on..but kept asking for help.. Got to the appointment on time, 15 minutes early, first appointment of the day! no greeting to the 3 patience !!! They ( employees) were Talking to each other at the counter, coats on coffee in hand, Called out my name.. says it's going to be $250.00 for the cleaning! I made an appt. at Lakewood, NY Aspen Dental in November 2021. Staff was courteous and x-rays etc. went well. Teeth cleaning I thought was a little sub standard but proceeded to make appt. for 4 fillings that they recommended as a result of x-rays. I thought at the time that the Dentist was pretty slap happy as he drilled teeth and hardly checked with pick to see if he got all of the cavity and just proceeded to fill. Upon leaving I was told I was all taken care of and would not have to return until April for a checkup. Two days later the filling number 1 fell out of my tooth and consequently the tooth broke off the next day. So I called Aspen on Monday and went in. They said they could extract and add to partial for an additional $189. I had already been charged over $1300 for this sloppy dental work. After leaving there I checked and there was one tooth that he failed to fix at all with a cavity in it so I was charged for 4 fillings and got 3. So I opted not to go back for any more Quack dental services. Upon complaining to corporate offices I was refunded $447. Now three weeks later a second tooth repaired there broke off at the gum line. I paid out of pocket $726 plus insurance for this great service and now probably have another $1500 to pay to fix the problem created by this incompetent Dentist. He should not be licensed in this state or any other state to be paid to destroy teeth with his lack of knowledge or expertise in the dental field. Not sure how he got a license to practice. I would not recommend anyone to go to this unqualified dental office. read more

It was very busy when I went in and I could see that they had a lot of patients but they got me back as soon as possible and the doctor explained everything and they even helped me understand stuff I didn't know I had going on! Unprofessional and a complete rip off. I was told I was on a payment plan and I went back to be charged an additional $325 just to get into the chair. they only did half a cleaning (which I told another dentist, he laughed and said thats not right)and have left the rest for 2 weeks.They don't seem to have any clue on how to treat people and the receptionist was rude when I said I wanted all future work that was scheduled to be cancelled and I'd be taking my business elsewhere. At the end of the day you aren't their patient you're just a customer and they don't care what you have going on. Go find a real dentist office not a chain. read more

My husband made an appointment with aspen and was able to be seen the same day he called! He was in a ton of pain and they got him in so quickly. Our regular dentist takes weeks to get us in. The staff at Aspen were so nice and helpful too. We are switching our family to Aspen for sure. read more
