5 months later and I still haven't gotten my money back. These crooks got 14,000 dollars in a care credit, and 6,300 from my insurance company. I was dropped as a client, I never received any bottom dental implants, no bone graft. They removed 7 teeth- charged me for 13. I have called a lawyer, filed complaints with dental board. They took all that money, and THE INLY THING THAT WAS DONE , was 7 teeth removed. And they have refused to give me a penny back, though they did not comply with their care plan. This is routine procedure for Aspen Dental. Especially the Lexington office. There's multiple class action lawsuits, so if you too are a victim of unscrupulous business practices, high-pressure sales, pushing for the upgrade always changing dates , changing prices, and charging you for things they DON'T NEED TO DO, or HAVEN'T DONE. I find it APPALLING THAT they have a history of doing this to their patients and getting away with ruining your credit, have no dentures. Can't afford them. Aspen dental thinks they deserve 23,000$ for PULLING 7 teeth. No other dentist charges that much. And no other dentist has 1 star on 90% of their reviews. I was there for 2 hours, more waiting than actual care. The woman who helped me with the X-rays started out fine but then was unprofessional. Made me feel uncomfortable with comments on my mouth size, even getting another nurse involved. When I complained I was there for 2 hours at the end and just wanted to go home since my appt was done, I just had to talk to front desk, she made a comment about it to another patient. The dentist doesn't seem to know what she's doing. I complained one tooth was in so much pain and she said there's nothing wrong with it. Went today to a different dentist and they found a pretty big infection in a failed root canal of the tooth I complained about. I'm glad I went elsewhere and getting the proper help and antibiotics. read more

The worst thing I ever did was go to the this place, The dentist and nurses are great but that's the only good thing about this office. I started in April. today is July 9th and I have not been able to wear the dentures. I have went in for realigns over and over and still not right. the tops make me look like i have buck teeth and the over bite is so bad I can still my pinky finger or tongue thru them. had an appt which was 4 wks apart as that's all they had, the day before they cancelled and rescheduled for 2 wks. Then comes today. They inform me they have to remake the set and it will be Aug the 4th. She did get it squeezed in July 27. so I have been 3 months with no teeth. The reason I have to do this at all is I had a biopsy on my throat and they knocked several front teeth out. I called Aspen customer service number and she stated it would be 5 to 7 business days before someone would return my call. Lady at the office stated I was past the get my money back time frame but I guess it is considering we are 3 months into this. If I could go back and change who I went to I would 100percent so pls be aware when trusting them. If could give them 10 negative stars I would. No other Aspen will see me because Lexington got paid so I would have to be charged all over again and they used both of my insurance so all would be out of pocket. read more

I live one hour away from the Aspen Dental in Lexington South Carolina, I only attempted to be at an Aspen Dental because they had the only Endodontist in my area that supposedly had available appointments. Four weeks ago I got a gold crown on one of my molars from my local dentist. Everyday sense I have been is extreme pain. I can not eat on that side, nor can I stand to drink anything clod or hot. Three weeks ago I called to schedule an appointment with this location. I asked if they had an Endodontist that is in residence. They said yes. I asked to schedule an appointment with him. They said yes and we scheduled it for the same week. 48 hours prior to the appointment they left a message and stated that they need a verbal conformation for all appointments. I called three time during their business hours with no answer. The fourth time I called I used their automated conformation system and confirmed my appointment. I drove on hour to my appointment to find out that they canceled it because I did not confirm my appointment with an actual person. They stated that they do not know why they have the automated system and that I should have tried again to talk with an actual person. At that time I scheduled an appointment for the following week with the Endodontist. During scheduling I asked when they were going to call for my verbal conformation. They stated that they will call once three days prior. Once two days prior. Once one day prior. I asked if I could confirm it then and there. She actually said, well that makes sense, lets do that. My appointment was scheduled for 2 p.m. I arrived at 1:30 p.m. They called me back at 2:50 p.m. They took x-rays and sat me in a chair. Someone came in, it was not an endodontist, she asked what was wrong. With her ungloved hand, she pulled a mirror out of her dirty pocket with her dirty hand and tapped my crown with it three different times to see if there was any pain. She stated that they do not have an Endodontist there but I could schedule one for 20 days form then on the 30th of December. I returned to the waiting room at 2:58 p.m. to wait for billing and scheduling. At 3:30 p.m. I went to the front desk to tell them that I was leaving, that I just wanted to pay for this visit and that I would not be returning for any further services. They stated that I could call later to receive my x-rays and I simply told them to shove them up their ass. I am a 44 year old, hardworking American who has served 22 years of service to this county. During that time I have served on bases in every corner of this country and others and have visited more dentist, both military and non-military than I can count. One thing that have learned from my service and from my patronage to the tens of thousands of business's that I visited is that, its not hard to be human. It is not hard to be good and to care. Now that I am retired, I have nothing but free time. I will use this time to do everything in my power to discourage and black list this place. No service member that I know across this country will visit an Aspen Dental. I will be contacting the VA and United Concordia to inform them of this unsatifactory, unsanitary, unsafe visit and demant that they remove them from thier recomentatons and service providers. I will be filing a BBB complaint. Aspen Dental is trash and so is their staff. read more

Wish I had seen these bad reviews before going. From these reviews, they shouldn't be doing crowns. Moved here and somebody suggested this place. Cheap feeling experience, but went here thinking I'd save money because of no insurance. Ended up costing as much to go to a nice office. I just had an exam and X-rays. I sat in the x-ray chair with the brace sitting un-comfortably in my mouth while I listened to the tech talk to her co-worker about their family plans for the weekend for five minutes. Was charged a "club" renewal subscription fee after two years, which they refused to refund, which motivated me to return the favor with a review. The x-ray didn't reveal the issue that another dentist caught. The staff that I experienced has most likely moved on because they have a high turnover in employees. My wife got a crown here, which fell out and had to be re-done. I feel bad that I sent her there, but it was before I found out that this is the bottom of the barrel in town. I called on a Friday when they opened and the first available "emergency "appointment for Sand Hills was the following Monday. I confirmed the address and we buckled down to get through the next 2 days. When he got to the office they said he was booked for another office that was nowhere near to us. I called to complain and the receptionist was unsympathetic and overbearing, insisting that her schedule was correct. She overtalked me, not listening to anything I had to say. In frustration I was rude back and hung up. She was a poor example of the customer concern that Aspen advertises. Needless to say we won't be doing business with them again. Quite literally dumbfounded and how incompetent this "business" is. I have never had an issue with a medical provider or dentist and this place is next level awful. I have yet to have a good experience. Most recently, I have been calling for 6 weeks because I lost my retainers after completing Invisalign. After calling every day for 2 weeks, I was told the retainers were ordered and was charged and that they should be in in 2 weeks. 1 month later.. I have called every day for a week to get an update on the retainers status. I was told I would get a call back every day, never did. I finally got in touch with someone who is now saying I need to come in for a scan. I am now in office waiting for "doc" to show up, as my assumption is he never actually put in the order. Originally I would've given them a better review, but after the fiasco I've been through now, I cannot. It started when I scheduled a routine cleaning and they didn't tell me that they added a really experience toothbrush to my bill for the cleaning. I thought the cleaning was a bit expensive, but figured I needed it. Then they "give me a toothbrush" at my appointment as if they're being kind. Then I start putting two and two together that THIS is why my bill was higher than expected. So I return it. They took the toothbrush and said "our system won't let me give you a refund until the ticket is approved". So now I'm without the toothbrush or my money. It has been a month and a week now of me calling every single week and inquiring about the status of my refund and still nothing. I have called the "national phone number" that I was given twice and left two voicemails and they can't even return my call. I have been patient but persistent about this and have been told several times, "we'll call you to update you" and I don't get any updates. I have to keep calling and waiting on hold. read more

I had a good cleaning and x-ray appointment a few weeks ago. The x-ray tech and hygienist were very professional. They found a small cavity and I went ahead and scheduled to have it filled at that time. My appointment was at 9 am today, 2.13.24. I get a call at 8:12am, as I am literally getting ready to walk out the door, that they need to reschedule. The reason being the doctor is not in today. I understand things come up. We are all human and have personal lives. And an apology is nice and expected but should I not get some sort of discount for MY inconvenience. Following a life changing double transplant, I determined it was time to fix my front teeth as I had a reason now to smile. Choosing Aspen was the mistake of horror. They provided permanent upper bridge that did not fit Properly; it fell out! i Was told their work was guaranteed and they would make it right! Several appointments later and more and more charges! I am on 100% disability. They put the same bridge in several times and charged me! It fell out every time. I went to legitimate Dentist! Says I have a issue they failed to consider! That is bottom bite that could have been corrected but they kept doing the same thing the same way, expecting different results. They refused to correct their shoddy work and refused to ever try! I need $10,000 to correct their mess! They refuse to refund my $10,000 or more! They refuse to correct the problem! That means they robbed a disabled client! Scam artists. My wife called to make an emergency appointment for the next day because I was in the worst pain of my life. Needed a tooth extraction immediately. Upon arrival the next day I had a screening and xrays done first (standard procedure) but told the Dentist the pain had backed off a bit but I really needed my tooth extracted. He agreed and said the pulp was infected severely. So I'm assuming I'm about to get tooth extracted....Nope, Dentist left then dental assistant came in and said I needed all this other stuff before my Tooth can be removed. $9,000+ worth of other stuff, plus had to wait two weeks before the extraction could even be done. Was sent home with antibiotics and now the pain is back and worst than yesterday. Only thing that helps is holding cold water in my mouth. Going to be a long night again and don't really know what to do. read more

Outstanding experience. Went in with a bad toothache, was told what the problem was. I left to sort out a root canal but changed my mind and got an extraction. Plenty of complaints to BBB already. The other reviews are very similar to the experiences I have had here. My first appointment was for a cleaning, or so I thought. After a few long waits I was seen for a brief time, then left in the chair for a little longer. Finally I was told that I was not getting a cleaning and I would have receive a phone call to reschedule that cleaning... Which I never received. Finally I called and made that appointment for my cleaning. When I arrived that day I was told that I would have to pay ~$100 for this "extensive" (lol) cleaning regardless of my insurance because of what they believe is necessary; however having had a second opinion I've been told that this was actually completely unnecessary. Since this is the only place my dental insurance allows me to go, I made yet another appointment to which I told I was 5 mins too late to be seen and would have to wait to see if the next patient showed up. From my experience and others that I know, this place is all about a scam. They ironically mention in a commercial that they don't take advantage of their patients and over charge, but don't believe that (from personal and others experience) for a second. For a second I thought this model could potentially restore my faith in the medical community in hopes of putting health above all, however I'm let down once again. It's a damn shame that medical professionals cannot be trusted and patients can't receive necessary, affordable, or appropriate care. If you have a different option under your insurance, I recommend taking advantage of that. First of all, when I scheduled my first appointment for an exam and cleaning, I was not told that all they did was X-rays and an exam. The day of the appointment, they called and moved my appointment up 2 hours. After a lengthy wait, I finally had my X-rays and exam. Because of some cavities, they scheduled that first. The day of that appointment, they once again called to move my appointment up 1.5 hours. When I advised I couldn't make it, my appointment was cancelled. They said they would call me back. After two weeks of calling to reschedule and being told computers were down, the scheduler wasn't there, etc., my appointment was finally rescheduled. When I arrived, after a 30 minute wait, I was told the doctor was running at least 1 hour behind. I wasn't waiting that long nor would I subject my medical service dog to that long of a wait. I called ASPEN a few days ago and told them I had insurance and needed new dentures. I let them know I had $1,000 of insurance for dentures. The lady I spoke with said no problem we have a set of dentures on sale for a little over $800. I made an appointment. When I was filling out the paperwork the wanted me to sign a paper that stated I had been explained the cost of the dentures. Well, I wasn't except for what I was quoted on the phone. So I did not sign it. The young lady that I was working with got my insurance card and said to me lets do the Xrays while we are waiting for the insurance company. I explained to her I could not pay any out of pocket money. I said ok as long as the dentures were not going to cost me any out of pocket money. She said there were 2 types of dentures they normally would pay for and that I would be ok. When the price finally came up it was over $1800 for the dentures that were on sale for a little over 800. I had no teeth to pull just new dentures. She told me I needed to pay $800. Now tell me why I needed to pay $800 when the dentures were on sale for $800 AND MY INSURANCE PAYS $1000.? Her answer was oh the sale price is only for people without insurance. Now I know why our insurance is so high. Needless to say, I reported them to my insurance companies' grievance department. I'm a 70-year-old woman on just social security. The $800 they wanted for my dentures is more than my social security for a month. I hope people will read the reviews before they go to aspen on sunset blv. in Lexington, sc. Shame on you ASPEN. I guess I will wear these 50 year old dentures until they bury me. read more

I have wasted over $2k on periodontal cleanings only to be told today that I need to go see a specialist for grafts. I was charged $259 for what was supposed to be a periodontal cleaning today, but was only some scraping, a little irrigating, and some fluoride rinse. I didn't get any numbing injections, or anything even close to the periodontal cleaning I got 3 months prior. I was charged an additional $88 fee to have the dentist look in my mouth for 2 minutes to tell me about the periodontal grafts I would probably need instead of agreeing with her fellow dentist who had started me on the cleaning regimen in February. She said I would also need fillings in the spaces where my gums are receding, but wanted me to see the specialist first. I don't know where I'm supposed to come up with the thousands of more dollars all of this is going to cost that I've wasted with Aspen. I was livid when I left there this morning. read more
