Worst Dental office experience EVER. Made appointment for just a Dental Cleaning ONLY. Explained my Insurance is limited so I ONLY want what's covered. 2 1/2 hours later, 5 tech/assistants and 3 different x-ray machines later and I was dismissed with out a cleaning. (the pre-explained and scheduled event). When I asked about my scheduled cleaning I was told Insurance only covers Clean Mouths and mine does not qualify for a Clean Mouth cleaning. Back Ground: I'm and 82 yr old retired emergency physician with limited income and poor dental health, both due to neglect. My last contact with a dentist was 2012 for crown placement on implants. One of those crowns recently became loose - not off, just loose. No problem I thought. I'll just get it 'stuck back on.' Silly me. With my prior dentist 150 miles away, I called a number of local dentists, none willing to address the problem. ... I understand. Googling for help I encountered an "Emergency Dental" page which led me to Aspen Dental' and I got a same day appointment. Cool! The story begins: Arrival, registration, paper work, etc. all quick, fluid and easy. Office personnel, as well as all staff and doctor, friendly personable and (most important) smiling. Then assessment began with incredible 3-D imaging creating a manipulatable 3-D color image of my entire mouth. I mentioned my main concern with the aforementioned loose crown, and needn't IT be concentrated upon? The response was something to the effect of "no worries." Next X-rays. Not a specific X-ray of the offending implant/crown, but full mouth images. Enter the hygienist. Another extensive full mouth evaluation. By step 2 I was wondering, why all this? Last, the doctor who, after another thorough full mouth exam (with cursory attention to the offending crown), accompanied by show and tell with the aforementioned images, began to detail my problems: Extensive periodontal disease with accompanying bone loss, at least one (maybe more) cavities in need of filling, cracked teeth needing crowns, old/worn out gold crowns and bridges perhaps needing replacement, and one molar I was not even aware of completely decayed and needing extraction. Oh yes and, (paraphrasing) we can't deal with your implant/crown without knowing the exact type, and the bone loss may create a stability problem. I understand that too. A plan was developed to find out implant/crown info. Then go from there. But here's the kicker: I was then 'turned over' to Darcy, a very sweet girl, to check out. That went something like this. Estimated cost to complete all recommended treatment .... something in excess of $22,000 and something along the line of 'do you have dental insurance? "No," and 'how do you want to deal with this?' I replied all I wanted was my crown reset. She countered with some very amiable prodding along the lines of 'surely you want take care of your teeth because dental health is so connected with overall health,' as well as info that for a small (2 digits) fee a discount could be applied to the costs. And then, the very least that could be done would be the hygiene treatment and crown repair for $4,681.00 or absolute least of $2,254.00 for one quadrant hygiene and crown, because the periodontal treatment was necessary to assure stability of the implant. So, all these positive things to say about Mt Pleasant Aspen Dental: From front to back all office and professional staff, personable smiling, efficient and thorough and all diagnoses and recommendations accurate and well-meaning. And I received (2 1/2 hrs in clinic) a comprehensive dental assessment, including extensive imaging studies, for a total 1st visit charge of $29.00. Amazing! BUT Had I known 'up front' that my stated concern could not be addressed without more information, I would have declined the appointment and returned to my original dentist. And here's the real rub: Despite all the positive things I've had to say about Aspen and the receipt of multiple expensive services for a pittance, the appearance of extensive efforts to generate $22,000 worth of needed service is, at best, unseemly. read more

The people who run Aspen Dental should be put in jail. Went in for a preventive cleaning. They tried their best to talk me into $7,465.00 worth of work. They also lied and told me I was within Network. They would not simply clean my teeth rather a "Deep Cleaning" was necessary for a total of $2,468.00. Total and complete rip off. read more

Got dentures in texarkana. Had to go back numerous times to get them adjusted. The last time I told doc I had gaps, he told me this was normal. Bottoms still hurt and can't wear more than 2-4 hours before. Trying to find better dentist in the area read more

worst care that I have ever received from Aspen Dental. Just changed my dental provider to someone else because of their piss poor dental care, high prices and staff attitude. I still have pain from my bridge a year later.. Don't use them. I told them several times after they kept harassing me that my insurance carrier had changed and updated the information in their office location and on their website before I was evaluated by them. read more

I had to get a dental clearance for a surgery and went to Aspen Dental to get it done. I ended up having to have x-rays and an exam and was told that I would have to have this $1000 dollar deep cleaning to get the signature. After that, they decided they wouldn't sign until I had a root canal for a couple of thousand more. I Have had no pain no sensitivity and no issues with the tooth they are referring to. I brought old x-rays in and it showed the same shadowing that they were referring to, and the x-rays were from Several years earlier. If you're looking for a money pit, here's your place. Horrible experience , I had a bridge and partial made and went four times to have them adjusted, which they never got right. They charged me 3300 dollars and I never got the items. They refused to make it right. I would give them a 0 rating but it's not allowing me so I'll give them a 1 read more

I made an appointment for about a week later (9 days) from the time I made it and was here on 10/25/23. In between that time I was harassed with emails and several calls about said appointment, whether it was about insurance or asking me to come in earlier then my 5:00PM appointment due to them having other clients cancel and me compromising for the staff here and coming earlier even after stating that I worked overnights and would prefer to keep my appointment time as it, I agreed to 4:30PM. (I was still harassed the same morning of the appointment saying I did not confirm my appointment, but did the day prior.) Moving on, day of the appointment I showed up and had to fill out more information on a tablet, after them being given all the information on the phone and was asked 4 different times what my visit was for just that day. (Not including the phone conversations, and text I wrote when making my appointment) About 20 minutes later I am brought back for X-rays by Gigi, with whom I would not want to ever interact with again. She has an attitude for no reason, and is it very clear she hates her job, by the way she speaks and carries herself. She called me back for my appointment and then says she will be back because she has to set up her equipment, why was it not already set up? She then did a panoramic scan and then SEVERAL bite X-rays, I found that ridiculous, and she made it uncomfortable due to her attitude. She was curt with her replies and reasoning for the need for so many views of my teeth. Also, I do not think it would be too much to ask that someone be more gentle when shoving films into someone's mouth to take X-rays and be more careful not to get saliva on someone's face several times when switching views. Anyways, after which I was brought back to the exam room and she told me she then needed to get 3D imaging of my gums. At this point I'm so annoyed with her I think about just walking out but replied "is that really necessary, it is my right to refuse that, correct?" Her reply was "you might not understand the doctor so you need them." At this point I am really mad, because of the tone of voice she used insinuated that I was stupid and annoying her by questioning her at all. The only positive thing I can say is that the dentist I interacted with for about 3 minutes was pleasant and obviously likes his job. On the other hand he is also happy to sell someone on their motto aligner. At the end of all this I am put into another room with chairs and told to wait as their "office manger" will come to get me with the plan. About 5 minutes later she comes get me and I tell her to print out my treatment plan as I would like to be seen elsewhere for treatment. I tell her about my experience, her reply was "oh sorry." the take aways- 1) one of the main reasons I made appointment here is because of the convenience of scheduling the appointment online so I would not have to speak to anyone over the phone, instead of it being simple and easy it was complicated, annoying, and I felt harassed by it. 2) There are SEVERAL dental offices, I would rather go somewhere where I am appreciated for my business, treated with kindness, respect, and my concerns are addressed. 3) Gigi hates her job, and will make it an uncomfortable visit if you go here. 4) I made my appointment for a cleaning and checkup, I stated this in both my notes and over the phone. At this appointment I was told "the hygienist isn't here, and doesn't work this late so we won't be doing that today."-Gigi 5) My experience was it is hard to make an appointment for a cleaning. I was lied to on several occasions and they tried to shift me around to other Aspen Dental offices for services they promised me from Texarkana to Shreveport FINALLY to Sherman Tx. never got the phone calls or the services they promised me. never do any business with Aspen Dental...waited 2 months for nothing. read more

The impression from my first visit to Aspen Dental in Mount Pleasant, Texas was good, as my tech, Carol, was nice. The next time I went, I wanted to get a soft liner put in my top denture. Since I purchased the top-of-the-line denture package, soft liners are supposed to be free for life. When I went in to request that service, I was assisted by a new technician who told me no because it wasn't necessary. I told her I would gladly pay for it myself, and she still refused to do it without explanation and wouldn't give me a circumstance in which she would do it. Due to Texas being a state where you can legally record your conversations without the other party's consent, I made it obvious that I was recording the conversation on my phone and again asked directly for a reason as to why they weren't honoring our contract. The tech left and got the main dentist lady who apologized and stated clearly that I wasn't being denied service and it was, of course, free. They rescheduled my appointment for another date. I came back in and had it done, but they put so much filler in the back of the denture that it hung down really far, and my tongue scraped against it every time I swallowed, causing pain and inflammation over the next week. I've never had that problem in the 5 years I've had them, so I went back and explained that I needed a thinner liner. I was again told no, and I again offered to pay for the service myself. I was told no again because, they said, the soft liner just "fills the gap" between the roof of my mouth and the denture, so putting less filler in the denture would have no effect on how low it hangs, which is nonsense. While everyone else was out of the room, Carol, who I had a good rapport with from my first visit, popped her head in just to say hi, which was nice. I explained the issue, and she apologized and said she'd take care of me when she had an opening the next day. I showed up at the appointed time for the same issue that she assured me was no problem the day before, but when I got in the chair, she asked what I had come in for, as if we had never had a conversation about it. I told her again about the denture hanging too far down in the back, and this time she acted like the others had the day before and said it wouldn't help and so refused to reline it. I again offered to pay or whatever it took because it was extremely painful, but I was still told no. This was the day after she said she understood my problem and it was an easy fix, so I can only assume that after I left, she was told by her superiors to instead deny me service no matter what. I left Mount Pleasant without being served for the second time and went to the Longview Aspen Dental location, where I've never had a problem. I told them the liner was too thick, and they understood immediately. They relined it with a thinner layer, and it fit perfectly with no pain, just like it had all the years before. I was hoping that I was being paranoid and that the Mount Pleasant location hadn't intentionally targeted me for discrimination, so when it was time for me to get a hard bottom liner put in, I went back to them. When I showed up for my appointment, I was told that my appointment had been cancelled. I asked why I wasn't contacted about the change, but the clerk at the desk had no explanation. Undeterred, I made another appointment. I paid to have a hard liner put in the bottom, and the denture was ground down so much that I now have a severe, hideous under-bite that I've never had before, and the sides of the liner are shaved so short that there's no suction and food/drink gets to the adhesive immediately, so I have to reapply it even before my meal is done. In short, the employees at Aspen Dental in Mount Pleasant got caught not upholding our legal contract, and since that time, they mistreated me at every available opportunity until I got the message and stopped going to them for help. It worked, as I will take the long trip to Longview instead and never do business with the Mount Pleasant Aspen Dental again. I advise you do the same. read more

I went in August to have a chipped tooth looked at. I have insurance that covers exams and fillings. They did a full exam, claiming the whole time that it was all covered. 1. They barely addressed the chipped tooth, and instead said I needed a root canal, several fillings, and treatment for alleged gum disease. It would all cost well over $2k. I just wanted one tooth fixed. I left with nothing done. 2. In November they sent me a bill for over $200. I talked to them and reminded them that I had insurance that they told me there was no cost for exam. I was then told I only had a $15 copay, so I paid them over the phone. 3. Today (12/13/22) I got another bill in the mail. They applied my $15 copay to the $79 Comprehensive Exam they are STILL charging me for, plus $132 for complete series rdgrphc images, and now I still owe them for the copay! This isn't the first time I've had issues with Aspen Dental. A few years ago I tried taking my kids to the one in Longview. I got it approved through the insurance company, schedule the appointment, gave them the insurance info. We got there (an hour away) and were told that they hadn't received any info. I stood there, in their office, talking with the ins. who kept faxing them the info multiple times to the number Aspen was giving me. They claimed that they never received it. No star rating!!! This place is the used car dealership of dentist. My husband made a appointment with them because he had a tooth hurting and they were the closest to us that took our insurance. They made the appointment for two days later on a Thursday. He went in and did his X-rays and told they couldn't pull that day due to him needing to go to the office manager and setup a treatment plan. This is we're they try to upgrade you to the luxury package when all you want is the tooth pulled and the pain to stop. He left there without anything for pain and paying for the tooth to be pulled that was set up on Monday at 6pm. So my poor husband suffered all weekend with a toothache. Monday they called him at 3:45 and asked if he wanted to come in at at 4 to 4:30. He jump at the chance to get the relief. He returned 40 minutes later madder then I had ever seen him. They tried to charge him again to have the tooth pulled once he got there after that was taken care of they called him back put the stupid little bib on him. The dentist then came in to tell him they couldn't pull it today because they were short staffed and would have to reschedule him. That is the point where my husband exploded on them about why even bother having him come in and not canceling over the phone. My sweet even tempered husband then lost it on them. He told them he wanted his money back for the tooth they officially can't get their sh*t together to pull and that he would rather suffer in pain then ever step foot back in there because they are so incompetent that he wouldn't even let them work on his dog now. Then he commenced to tell them where they could go and how to get there. Needless to say he was asked to leave and we still haven't gotten a refund from a tooth that never got pulled. Awesome job Aspen you did something that only his ex wife has ever been able to do and that's lose his cool. So if your blood pressure or heart rate needs a bump try Aspen Dentist in Mt. Went to Aspen Dental before Christmas. I have moved to area and needed to find dentist in my area that was a preferred provider. They are a preferred provider but their office isn't set up to file on my insurance. The financial department said they had to call and get them to set it up in their drop down box to file on my insurance. Well I called them around December 23 . They were suppose to be working on this. I just called them again and I guess they put the request in and never followed back up on it. Here it is Jan 24th and I had to call them again! They were supposed to call me! My cleaning is way over due and I have to have extra cleanings because I have periodontal disease. Also need a tooth capped! Not to mention that I had to wait forever to be seen once they called be back for new patient exam. Before I went I called insurance company to make sure they were on my plan. This is unacceptable and I plan to call their corporate office. Maybe it's the people they employ. read more

I had not been to the dentist for a very long time and I really needed a dentist. I called to schedule and appointment and they were able to see me that afternoon. I was very pleased with the service that was provided on my first visit. Everyone was very professional and they did not make me feel bad for not being able to get to a dentist for a long time. My teeth are in better shape than I expected, but my gums are not so lucky. I will be working with Emily, Carol and Dr. T to get everything back in good shape. Thank you Aspen Dental. read more
