I fractured my tooth and it was causing intense pain over the weekend, tried to find a dentist on Sunday to no avail and settled for the ER for antibiotics and a local anesthetic to hold me over until my Monday appointment with Aspen Dental. The staff seemed professional, but they waste no time taking any and all of your dental ailments and using them as a reason to politely talk down to you for not having spectacular teeth. They took a full set of x-rays for pain in one tooth. The Doc agreed the tooth needed to be extracted, but the swelling was too high and the pain I'd be in if he attempted it then would be too high to numb, so he'd schedule me back for Thursday (3 days). A few hours later the front desk calls and the receptionist lets it slip that the doctor's holiday plans changed and the earliest he can see me is next Wednesday (9 days). I get being busy, but if you have plans just block they day off. Then if your plans fall through you get to be one of the only places around taking same day appointments and walk-ins, your phones would be ringing off the their VoIP bandwidths. But to tell someone that is in severe pain that you're going to help them in three days, and tell them to wait another week is wildly insensitive. And when contacted about prescribing something for the pain now that I was expecting to wait an additional week, they prescribed some slightly stronger Tylenol. How the desk staff thought it would be appropriate to mention to patients they have to be rescheduled due to the doctors weekend party plans is truly a mystery to me, but this business as a whole has been a horrifyingly stark example of what happens when REAL customer service goes by the wayside. Tooth pain SUCKS... I would not recommend you guys to my enemies. I can however Highly recommend Gentle Dental in New Bedford! The difference in care and compassion here is night and day. The staff at Gentle Dental were very prompt, welcoming, and accommodating. Gentle Dental was able to see me on the original Thursday Aspen had promised and we're able to take the time to re-X-ray the tooth in question, because despite Aspen's very fancy standing X-ray helmet, they sent over some pretty fuzzy scans when I requested my records be sent over. Gentle Dental performed the extraction that day, even taking multiple breaks to re-apply pain meds to ensure I wouldn't feel a thing. Once I was properly numbed, the tooth was out in under 2 minutes. Gentle Dental set me up with the meds I'd need to recover comfortably and quickly, and Dr. Manish Juneja gave me his card with his personal cell number, and asked me to call, even if it was on the holiday, if I was feeling any pain at all. read more

SO UNPROFESSIONAL!! ASPEN DENTAL, NORTH DARTMMOUTH MA., WARNING!!!! My wife was scheduled to have 1 tooth removed, when she was there, the dentist that was doing the extraction, cracked another tooth, in order to proceed they made her sign a document (while under duress), she signed the document , while the dentist was removing the tooth that he cracked, he cracked another one, at that point in time that dentist left the room and came back with another dentist, who is the owner, who told the previous dentist that "he shouldnt lean on the other tooth while extracting a tooth". (whats that tell you?). This is where it get frustrating, this happened on 10/7/24, after removing 3 of my wifes teeth in the most unprofessional manner possible, no one from aspen dental Dartmouth called to check on her,( you think they would with a potential law suit pending) for a week, even after speaking with our attorney on 10/10/24, when aspen dental dartmouth said they would reach out to her, THEY NEVER DID!!! My wife who is a true warrior suffered through a week of this , with stiches coming lose, packing coming out, not to mention the amount of pain she was in, she left multiple messages and we did not get a reply, until Monday morning when we went in to see the doctor who apologized for everything, and mentioned he would suggest doing a partial but he couldnt do anything until the office manager came in on Tuesday. Today 10/15/24 we had a meeting with the office manager, I knew instantly that this was not going to get any place because she had the resting BITCH face on , not once did she apologize to my wife for the malpractice that happened in her office, she kept deflecting everytime I mentioned no one called her , the BITCH said she was waiting for corporate to get a hold of her. The fact she couldnt even pick the phone up and check in on my wife says a lot about this person, who was COLD and RUDE while she said the company line that, this is all we could do and anything else would have a cost associated with it. Just got off the phone with Aspen Dental in North Dartmouth. I needed to get my x-ray sent to my regular dentist. (I went to Aspen only because they were the closest office that do root canals and excepted my insurance.) They told me I had to sign a release form. OK... I asked last week if they would either mail it or email it to me, I'd sign and send back. easy peasy.. But NO.... today they told me I had to either go there in person ( 45 minute drive) or they could fax it!!! WTF!!!! Really??? Who has or uses a fax machine any more? 5 seconds they could email it!!! The Aspen charged me $68 for Gingival Irrigation for four Quadrants (Proc code: 4921; $17 for each quadrant). Very happy with the service (the employees) throughout the process of our consultation/exam,etc. Unfortunately I found the space very much uncleanly, starting with the windows in the waiting room. Leading to when you actually looked around you notice built up funk on the tile floor as if it's almost never cleaned. Hair and miscellaneous on exam chairs and the bathroom, like it's never vacuumed or swept on off time. Stains on towel dispenser/cabinets in exam room along with dust and random crumbs of dirt everywhere makes you wonder what else isn't clean to be honest. For a dentist office or any medical office you want the space to be very clean and this definitely was unsettling that it wasn't. read more

When I called to schedule my first appointment, I asked several questions regarding treatment, caries, etc. I apparently asked too many questions because at some point the rude, abusive, flippant front desk girl said, "That's why you don't get any respect!" after having made a few other rude, out of place comments. To put it lightly, this place was a nightmare. They did have a couple of very nice dentists there but they never stay long and my guess would be because of the toxic environment brought on by the office manager. There was also one or two very kind hygienists who apologized for her behavior, which they shouldn't have to ever do. She was just so, absolutely, horrendously, unprofessional, unkind, and -- like one of the other reviewers had mentioned -- totally condescending. "Awful" does not begin to describe it. Oh, and when I tried to talk to the regional manager (via email; you cannot reach ANY higher ups from Aspen by phone) she told me how they were friends and they had told her about my email and that she wasn't worried. Nice. My dental work, in the end, to be fair, came out pretty good (I had needed dentures) but it wasn't easy, because they tried to have me leave there with these horrendous looking things that had me looking like a horse and unable to talk correctly. Fortunately, they DO have a dentist that comes in once a week (he was great; very experienced, knew what he was talking about) and he was able to explain to them what to do and how to fix it. I'm happy with how the end result turned out, but I cannot give this place a high rating. No patient/customer should ever be ridiculed or talked down to, and honest pricing/information about procedures should be top priority. Those are just common sense things that all businesses are aware of and Aspen should be no exception. I will never go back there and would steer anyone thinking of it to avoid it at all cost. Terrible service. Got some work done there a few months ago. They told me it was going to be x amount. Didn't have enough money to cover it so they offered a credit card. Took the card.. paid for the enitrw service. Then get a letter in the mail about some money I owe them. Call them they said just to ignore it ... I ignored it then I got another one. Called themtleft a message never got a call back . Called them again they said oh yeah that was because the insurance didn't cover as much as we expected. Okay fine. Let me pay it with the credit card I was forced to get in order to get the service. "We can't take that over the phone. That has to be done in person" they're not open on the weekend I work the same time they're open and my boyfriend and I share a car so by the time I got out hed be using it so I couldn't get there for the one hour theyre open for anyway. So I explained this dozens of times. So get this I go in and give them the credit card finally and they said it was too late for me to use the credit card because it has a sixty day period from when you got the service to pay up. Didn't know any of this. So the lady at the front desk said she'd charge me for another visit so that she could pay the bill with the Genesis credit and then null it on my insurance so I can still be seen in june.she said she'd call me back to let me know if it worked or if there were issues. Never did. I just get a collections notice in the mail for the very bill she said she'd take care of.... I call them and all they said was I don't know why she said she'd do that.but just kept repeating genesis has a sixty day period. All of this would not have happened if they were up front about the bill they answered my calls when I called and called me with said issues.... I mean shit I didn't even no my insurance didn't cover a fraction of it until months later than by the time I was alerted I had a couple weeks before genesis' due date. Absolutely terrible service they don't know how to communicate they are not willing to work with you theyre billing department is fucking trash. Do not go here!!! Save your money and go to an actual reputable place that actually cares about the customer and are willing to work with them. I will never recommend them as a matter of fact I will always bring this story up to anyone thinking of going there! P.s while you're there the staff is super unprofessional talking to one another during time with patients and the the dentist. Also They're not prepared during procedures. A couple times being there the people working in my mouth had to stop what they were doing to get something else making the time in the chair much longer than it had to be. Also they warn you a dozen times before something goes to collections. And are willing to work with you so that the bill gets paid. There was nothing being done. As a matter of fact it was because of poor communication and untrained ignorant employees that the bill went to collections to begin with. I mean when I went to pay it face to face with the credit card the woman took down all my info because I was in a rush and had to go said she'd cahrgs my card and if it didn't work she'd call me. Never got the call assumed it worked if she had called me to tell me it didn't work like she was supposed to I would've paid with my debit card right then and there. I had the money which I told them I just wanted to use the credit card because that's what I got it for. For the dentist. Can't use it anywhere else. DO NOT GO HERE! My boyfriend had an appointment to get his small chipped bond on his front tooth fixed. The dentist told him the day of the appointment that she would only do a crown and would not do a bond. He had a consultation appointment where it was an option and the day of the appointment, he received a call saying she would not do a bond. As many of us are struggling to make ends meet with COVID-19 and for him, he is also in grad school living off of loan, he could not afford to pay in full for a crown and only had money to pay for a bond. He understands that it's a short term fix and will eventually get a crown done when he has money to do so, but he needed his tooth fixed for the short term. Both treatments do the same thing. One is much cheaper than the other, with the down side of only lasting a couple years of more. It's very disappointing to hear that a healthcare professional would only push a patient for a much more expensive treatment even though both are options and both do the same thing, fix the chipped tooth. He ended up going to another dentist in the area who was happily able to fix his small chip with a bond. I am also in grad school studying physical therapy, a healthcare profession. I understand how important it is to look at the patient as a whole and that includes the financial aspects of treatment. It's so sad to have my boyfriend go through the experience of a healthcare professional not looking at the patient as a whole and not understanding the financial aspect of treatment. I have got a fair amount of work done here and I always come back to this clinic because of the quality of work and friendly staff. Dr. Mirajkar and her assistant Paula are an amazing team, they are courteous & efficient. All my treatments are well-explained and carried out such that I felt very-little to no pain. I had gone to this particular location for an extraction and we will say my experience was a bit of a mixed bag. On the one hand, all of the support staff was kind, the dentist however, I am pretty sure we will all see on Dateline at some point in the near future having a collection of victims jawbones fashioned into a throne (or you know, maybe a nice living room set, never know he might not be so ostentatious) of some sort. He spoke very little and felt no need to actually make eye contact with me, until upon telling him that Novocaine (or really most anesthetics) doesn't work very well on me. He seemed both amused and annoyed by this. (Much like you would think a hunter who startles a deer would feel.) So I requested more and he begrudgingly obliged. All the while rarely, if ever, speaking to me to see if things were progressing to a more numb state. When it came to my extraction and I told him I could still feel it (even after receiving the apparent legal limit of Novocaine, something I didn't think was a real thing but happened to be) he audibly sighed and just stared at me. Did not ask if I wanted to continue, or if I would like to continue at a different time possibly with gas instead. No, he merely stared.(With a stare that can only be compared to Gaff from Blade Runner) But of course, me being someone who normally isn't bothered by pain allowed the butcher back in my mouth. Where upon he didn't try to calm or relax me by perhaps talking to me like I am a person (and you know, not a taxidermy animal he is experimenting on in his basement/lair/morgue/sex dungeon. That I am just guessing he has) No instead he merely bent and pried at my tooth while I clearly made noises to point out my distress. Then the feather in his cap was the final yank with pliers that also smashed into my bottom row of front teeth. Following this macabre (yet I am sure self satisfying ) act of violence he proceeds to bail out of the room faster than a frat boy post cum shot. Leaving his assistant to bat clean up for this mess he created. I was clearly upset and was rude to her and for that I am greatly sorry as she was merely doing her job. Granted of course her job is assisting in mouth based mutilation. But ya know we all have bills to pay. Yes I know this is a tongue and cheek description, but colorful language and imagery aside, the events are true. I was there to get an extraction, the support staff was kind however the lead dentist lacks the social skills to not only comfort and calm his patients but to even make eye contact with them. Against my better judgement, I made an appointment with Aspen due to some tooth pain in my wisdom tooth. It was across the street from my work and convenient. I was greeted by a nice assistant, and she proceeded to take100 pictures of my teeth but it took her a good 10 minutes to get the camera/computer working correctly so I sat uncomfortably with a camera in my mouth and sore teeth. I noticed while I was there, there was a lot of awkward side conversations happening and loud music. Not very professional, doctor-like atmosphere. After my x-rays were taken, another woman came in and picked at my teeth/gums killing me. So, if my teeth weren't hurting before they were THROBBING after. The "dentist" made an appearance through my patient room, open door...he looked to be in his late 20s. He mumbled something about, not feeling good and the assistant shushed him, motioning in my direction. Comforting. He then came in and mumbled a few things about needing my wisdom tooth out and having a bunch of cavities. NOTHING about a crack in my wisdom tooth, that later I came to find out was causing all of the pain I had been experiencing. A billing coordinator scooped me up after, and laid out all of the procedures I "needed" and the cost of each totaling up to about, 3 grand. They opened up a line of credit for me, without even openly admitting that's what they were doing and I knew right then and there I was never stepping back foot in that place, EVER. Yesterday, I went to a dentist locally and was greeted by the sweetest people. He told me I had an infection and a crack in my wisdom tooth and prescribed me an antibiotic and set up an appointment with an oral surgeon. I'm not sure why Aspen failed to mentioned I had a crack in my tooth and a dangerous infection that could have made me super sick, but I am DISGUSTED. DO NOT GO HERE. Made an appointment for a cleaning, but was told I needed to get x-rays and consult with the Doctor first since I was a new patient (ok, fine.) The Doc told me I had Periodontal Disease and needed 3 of my wisdom teeth removed (What?!). Left Aspen with a $2,000 estimate and was very confused & worried. I immediately called my sister who works for a very reputable dentist and she had me come in for a second opinion. The Doctor told me that my teeth were in great shape and all I needed was a good cleaning to remove some tartar buildup. Had to call to ask where it was after driving through the parking lot 4 times. I finally find it and go inside to check in. When I got to the front desk I was told they don't accept my ins. and would have to pay cash! Why would they take the info and book the appt if they dont accept it? Good question. Overall, I had to leave with my infection and swollen face after wasting $20 in gas and loosing a half days pay. They didnt even offer me a different way to pay or a payment plan. Usually going to the dentist makes me nervous but this place completely changed that. Every one there is SO nice and knowledgeable, they explain everything in a way that makes sense to me, tell me what they are doing when they do it and make sure you are completely comfortable. I hadn't been to the dentist in a few years so my teeth were pretty bad I'm so glad a friend told me to try aspen dental. I did not enjoy my experience with Aspen Dental at all! The hygienist who worked with me was nice but that is about it. The dentist was extremely unpleasant and they continually bill me for services already paid for. They were difficult to work with when I needed to transfer my records as well. They increased my fear of the dentists but fortunately, since visiting them, I have found a wonderful office to work with. read more
