I went to Aspen as they are in my Dental Plan , I needed new set of dentures as mine were really old and out of shape. From the first visit I knew this was a good decision to come here. The staff was excellent and very friendly , I never waited more than about 15 minutes if that . They fit me in right away if I had a problem. They knew I had a deadline as we were going away and made time for me for adjustments and they were always smiling. Just 5 days before we were supposed to leave my daughter in law's top plate broke. She did not get her teeth from Aspen she got them from Affordable Dental in Gainesville and had nothing but trouble from the first day she got them. I called Aspen and they said come right over and we will see if we can fix them for now . Unfortunately they couldn't fix them as to where they were broken. They made me a deal for the very cheapest they could do the plate for and since I had the money they gave her impressions right away this, was on a Friday, Monday she had her fitting and Wednesday she had her teeth by Friday were were on the road for NJ. I took my husband there to get a cap put back on. Never again will we go there. The dentist who say my husband could not help him due to the fact my husbands dental work was way above his scope of ability, they kept pushing services we didn't want or need, a real lack of quality care, the office/front desk woman misinformed us by saying there was 'No charge', but got billed (as expected) anyway. Free x-ray and examine; then over treatment. Went there as a new patient. The Hygienist ck'd my gums and found one, ONLY ONE, gum pocket that measured a 5. The rest are 2's, 1's and some 3's. She recommends 'Deep Cleaning'. My two boys on the west coast are Dentists. They informed me that a 'Deep Cleaning' is OVER TREATMENT. All I need to do to clear up that bacteria in the gum is to floss diligently and use an anti bacterial mouth wash. I explained this to them and they would not change the treatment. Horrible customer service. I had most of the teeth pulled/cut out my mouth. Upper and lower on the same day.(Thursday) I was prescribed 12 /5 mg hydrocodone. Not sufficient at all! Tried to tell them the next day (Friday) about the pain I was experiencing, no compassion. Left the office in tears. Called the emergency line Saturday morning in tears and was told someone would call me back soon. It's Monday now, called again and still waiting for a call back?! $6000.00 to be tortured. The office staff lied to me repeatedly and caused me to unnecessarily postpone oral surgery with a different provider. The officer manager lied to me multiple times both about my billing and my medical records. I scheduled an appointment for tooth pain due to a possible infection and informed my scheduler I would need a full set of X-rays. I said I would be paying out of pocket. They told me I could schedule a new patient appointment (I had never seen them before) and it would cost me less. When I arrived, the dental assistant/hygienist informed me that I would actually be billed for a problem visit due to the reason of my visit being tooth pain, regardless of whether I was a new patient or not (not this is the same bait and switch that Aspen Dental was sued for in NY). After paying out of pocket, I scheduled an appointment with another provider for additional care that required the X-ray records that were taken at Aspen Dental. I call 2 weeks later to confirm they could send the records to this provider. They inform me they cannot due to a cybersecurity breach and I will need to reschedule my surgery appointment or pay for new X-rays with someone else. I reschedule the surgery I need for 2 weeks later. I call again a few days before my rescheduled appointment and again informed that I have no access to my own medical records. I ask about possible alternatives so I can at least get copies of my records. At this point the officer manager tells me two lies: 1. That I did not even pay for my X-rays because I was seen as a new patient (not sure why she even felt compelled to say this). 2. That even if I picked up a physical copy of my record (which was possible) no surgeon was going to accept physical copies (rather than digital copies) of my X-rays. Based on this information, she informed me that my option was to postpone my surgery again until their system was fixed at an unspecified future date. When I informed her regarding the payment that she was incorrect and I had in fact paid for my X-rays, she double downed on her statement. Further, when I called later to ask why the price on the printed receipt they provided me did not match what she had informed me that I should have paid, her assistant told me it must be the wrong receipt until I read the address printed on the receipt back to her. She claimed I should have paid ~$170, when I actually paid $235. The discrepancies between my actual receipt and the office manager's statement still have not been explained to me. Regarding lie number 2, I called my surgeon and they informed me that I can in fact bring in printed copies of my X-ray records. Meaning I had postponed my surgery unnecessarily because the staff at Aspen Dental are either intentionally providing misinformation to their patients or are too ill-informed about their own business to provide accurate information to their patients. In my conversations with the office manager, she was repeatedly rude and condescending, providing some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced at a medical office. Do NOT go to this office if you want actual customer service or clear, respectful, and truthful communication from their front office staff, particularly the office manager. I am a busy professional, so my time is important. More than eight weeks ago, I called and made an initial appointment. I told them directly that I would need a cleaning. The response was positive, yes. A few days before the appointment, I get a text to call back. It took several calls, but I found out that they would not have a hygienist so I could not get a cleaning but only an initial consult with x-rays (checkup/no cleaning). They suggested I call another office, so I did. I made another appointment but made it clear that I also needed a cleaning with my initial appointment. The answer was yes. A few days before the appointment I get a text. I have to call back, but again it takes several calls to talk to someone, who informs me they do not do cleanings with an initial checkup appoinment. They wasted 8 weeks of my time trying to get a damn cleaning, to say no, after telling me otherwise. I recently retired to Ocala, Florida and needed to select a dental clinic which accepted my dental insurance. Since I've always maintained good dental hygiene, I chose the Aspen Dental clinic at 3411 SW 36th Terrace, for geographic convenience and insurance acceptability. Initially, my experiences were positive, however, as time went on I began to observe a trend with continuous appointment cancellations, extended office wait times, continual rotation of personnel (especially Dentists & Hygienists), chatty office workers, and most concerning, questionable billing practices. Yesterday was the last straw for this place, as they tried to charge me for services which are covered under my plan. Then they tried to explain why I would be billed hundred's of dollars due to my insurance issues for such services. Bi-annual cleaning services not covered - really? It now appears I cannot receive my secondary maintenance cleaning because their office staff pushed forward my initial cleaning appointment (from Jan. 2022 to July 15th) five times! More excuses each month, as I tried to schedule the appointment early in the new year. Because of their scheduling ineptitude and my insurance policy guidelines, I was denied basic services of which I pay for each month. Last year, they 'inadvertently' assigned the wrong coding and claimed my insurance didn't cover it. After hours of research (via my insurance provided) and E-mailings back and forth to several Aspen Dental personnel, they finally admitted to the error. Why should a patient have to inquire and investigate into charges each time insured services are provided? Do yourself a huge favor and save yourself much grief - shop Ocala for a more professional dental establishment in which you can trust appointment obligations, honest services, and accurate billing. read more

Beware the bait and switch. After ten years of careful use my $600 "clicker" replacement for my two front teeth finally wore out. I recognized that implants would be better, but the "clicker" was all I could afford. I went to Aspen Dental in Silver Springs, showed them the two pieces and asked if they could make a replacement. They said yes, no problem and gave me an estimate of "around" $2,000, including extraction of remaining tooth fragments. a treatment for possible infection, and a temporary "clicker" I was to use for 3-4 months until I healed. I gave them a credit card, they came back with a receipt and the extraction and treatment went smoothly. Barely 30 minutes later the lab came back with a crude and ugly, but serviceable temporary clicker. I was told to stop by the check out to pick up my treatment plan. The treatment plan was two+ pages of fine print full of codes and abbreviations with a final total of over $7,000. I assumed it was a long term plan that I could address after I had my final "clicker". Last week I received an email instructing me call for an appointment for a fitting of my. When I called I was told that I could not receive the final "clicker" until I completed my treatment plan. "What parts" I asked. "All of it" was the response. "But that is over $7,000" I protested. Sorry the appointment lady said, that is company policy. I tried to trim the treatment plan down to essentials but was told no, the entire plan must be completed. Understand, a "clicker" is a small plastic (resin) device that fits snugly inside the mouth and presents a cosmetic approach to missing teeth. It is intended to be a temporary solution, but some people on a budget find it is all they can afford and need. Aspen's lab produced a rough copy in less than 30 minutes. I may have to pay a lot more to have what I want and can afford, but it won't be Aspen. Make sure you understand all the rules. read more

WORST DENTAL EXPERIENCE EVER! I was going in to get 2 cavities filled , nothing huge . I get in and everyone is pretty nice but that's where it stops positive wise . I get a check up and they tell me I have 2 more cavities then I thought and when I asked them to show me on MY X-rays they refused . So I went along with it and they proceeded to take me to the billing office where they told me my treatment is $1400 so I take a look at my treatment plan and they added on a $250 electric tooth brush and one extra filling I never consented to even pay for. It was only going to be for 4 cavities and a cleaning THATS IT. I explained this to the "office manager" and they said well that's the treatment plan ‍ so since I needed them done so badly they squeezed me in THAT day at 10 am . I come back for then to get filled and don't even get put into a room until 11am then I sit there for another HOUR , the dentist walks in , doesn't introduce himself , doesn't acknowledge me , AGGRESSIVELY pushes my head back and in a rude tone asks me to OPEN , I do so and without a warning shoves a needle in my mouth , I start crying because of how uncomfortable that was for me and he looks at me and walks out . Another 45 mins go by and he walks in again WITHOUT WARNING , starts drilling ..... I CAN FEEL EVERYTHING ! I start waving my hand to show him I'm in pain and all he says is "we need more numbing because it wasn't enough . OMG he pulls out the biggest needle and harshly shoved it in the back of my mouth at this point I'm in excruciating pain , I'm bawling my eyes out in terror and he starts giggling at me . HOW DARE YOU SIR . So my fillings get done im still in so much pain and walk out to go home . I get home and everything's fine , now let's fast forward to now which is 3 weeks later , my one filling is still very painful , I cannot eat on that side of my mouth , IVE NEVER HAD A CAVITY BE FILLED AND FEEL THIS WAY IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. So I did, when i arrived to my 2nd appointment they proceeded to tell me the price had now gone from $350 to over $900. Leaving me to feel embarrassed and crying no one even offers a tissue... I've never experienced such a lack of communication in a business/medical setting. They do 1 area of my mouth and have me pay then tell me I have enough money left to do a second area. I called Aspen because my regular dentist was on vacation. I called on Saturday to schedule an appt for a broken tooth. They told me they scheduled it with enough time to do the work that day. The day of my appt I only had x-rays and a brief exam and was told I'd have to wait at least 2 weeks to come back in. When I questioned it, the tech laughed and said "yeah, we get that a lot - that's corporate for you." They also did a 'financial review' with me for my options and told me I would have to do several thousand dollars of work (that my regular dentist says I don't need). Their prices were twice what everyone else charges. I called my regular dentist and got an appt to fix my tooth, but needed my x-rays. I submitted the paperwork for the transfer and was told it would take 3-5 business days to have them sent. It's been 8 business days and still no x-rays. When I called, they claimed they are sent by their corporate office and they have no control over it. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told there was nothing they could do and no way to speak to 'corporate' - they don't talk to clients. My dentist office told me they've submitted the request twice and was even hung up on by Aspen Dental while trying to get my records. Poor customer service, very expensive and management doesn't care. Don't bother. read more

The dentist did not listen to me. Reported painful tooth but she did not see anything in the xray so did not do anything about it. Got my partial fitted and it was very tight on my front anchor teeth. She said try it for a few days. I did. There was still pain on the bad tooth and the pressure was so bad on the anchor teeth that when I took off the partial and put on my night guard, I could tell that my teeth were going to move if I continued wearing. I went back and she treated the painful tooth as a cavity (even tho there was none present in xray?) I was confused. They also adjusted the pressure so I could wear them. Went home and the pain was still preventing me from chewing on my left side. They said I need the tooth pulled. I don't have dental insurance so I went to FreeDOM Clinic for the extraction. Waited a month and went for a fitting to have a tooth added to my partial. When I got the partial, the same problem of too much pressure on the anchor teeth was present. I stated it and she talked me into testing it out. I did. 2 hours later it was obvious that it was worse than the first time so I called for an adjustment appointment. I had to wait 2 weeks. I was not able to wear them while I waited for the appt. I went in and she was condescending to me as if my complaint wasn't valid. She said maybe they should send me to a specialist who could help me. I was calm and just explained again what was going on. She got the adjustment and it felt much more comfortable when I left. After some time went by, I felt a raw spot developing on my tongue. The difference between the upper edge that was supposed to flush with my gums on each side was easy to feel with the fingertip. The inside edge was rough while the opposite was smooth. It was rubbing on my tongue, creating a raw spot. I called to go in and have it fixed. She was not happy to see me, she acted like I would never be satisfied and actually let out a little laugh when I explained why I was there. Then she said that it was impossible for that to be happening. I was quite offended at this point. She offered to take back the partial and reimburse me! I took my teeth out of her hand and went to leave. I was so offended and tired of her shaming me for just trying to get it right. I never raised my voice. Was just matter of fact about leaving and started to walk out. She followed me, insisting we talk with the office manager. I really just had to get out of there. I couldn't handle it. Then the following week I got TWO letters telling me that I was banned from every Aspen Dental office in the country. I couldn't believe it. I did not make a scene, I just walked out. She made the scene. Now the right side has come to my attention because where the partial is not flushed with the gum on the outside, there is a sore that has developed by being rubbed when I eat. I was hoping to walk away from the whole thing. I was told that I could come back for adjustments as needed, no limit, as needed. I had a cleaning done recently and they had my appointment wrong the card they gave me said one time and their system said another. I had to wait like 30 mins before I was seen. The woman that did the cleaning was awful. I didn't get anything to shield my face or eyes for the cleaning. The young girl with brown hair and brown eyes kept getting water on my face did not even apologize. She tuck me with her sharp cleaningtool twice didn't apologize. Update I went to get the crack in my tooth filled today.But I'm getting two types of novacaine for something on the surface. Come to find out I have a cavity that nobody told me about. I thinking I'm getting one thing done. I'm gonna be in and out then this. I told dentist I had no clue nobody told me. Nothing was said I'm just here for the crack on the side of my tooth. But in the computer it says something completely different. The communication at that place is terrible. I saw four different people. 3 of the 4 said my tooth was fine and saw nothing wrong with it. The last person I saw told me I actually had a filling there and it cracked.. the rest of them couldn't figure that out? I'm paying all this money for people that don't know how to do their jobs. Meaningless to say the last person I saw was really nice explaining things to me. That's the type of dentist I want and expect to see. Also the billing people were extremely rude. Expecting me to pay extra for something that I didn't even know I needed. And I was charged one price then got charged more. Communication is key. Especially for a business. I mean damn. A month ago I made a 7 am dentist appointment telling them I had to be to work by 8. I confirmed my appointment days in advance reminding them I had to be to work by 8 am that's why I made such an early appointment and even reminded the check in lady when I got to the office. I appointment and shows up at 6:53 so nice and early being the first patient in the office, waiting 15 minutes to be taken back sit in the room for another 15 minutes just for the dentist to talk consultant another patient at 7:30 without even coming to see me. I reminded the dental assistant I had to be to work by 8 am she processes to tell me there's only 1 dentist and she'll be in in about 10 minutes after she's done with the other patient then leaves. I wait another 10 minutes at this time the dentist is up front talking with all get employees and tells me she's only 1 person and she has to help everyone and shows me the door and was very rude. Does punctuality mean nothing to this office? I've had them cancel appointments on me last minute and even heard others walk in for their appointment just to be told they called them 10 minutes prior to reschedule their appointment. Why does Dr. Canal think if your patient has a 7 am appointment it's okay to take the person that showed up after them and not even see them until 7:30. If you're not going to start working until 7:30 don't set up appointments for 7 am just to dissatisfied customers. This is Ridiculous and I asked for a managers phone number and she refused to give it yo me and told me to call corporate. This is the worst serviced doctors/dentist office I've been to. I normally Yelp about restaurants however I am really annoyed at Aspen Dental right now for not having their act together. 6 months ago I was a new client. Aspen had a special with an exam and cleaning that I thought was great. I showed up 15mins early as requested to fill out forms. After filling out the forms, I waited an hour before they called me in for my exam. After getting x-rayed in a 360 degree machine, I felt better that this dentist at least had the latest equipment, and to be fair the office was clean and the staff friendly. I got the exam and cleaning after sitting with the office manager who tried to up-sell a few items. An additional $30.00 for a fluoride swish...come on! Anyway, when leaving I made an appt with the girl at the checkout desk for 6 months later in the year. She wrote the appt on a card and entered me into the computer...or so I thought. I arrived for my appointment on the day and time they had written down on the card to be told there was no such appointment! How maddening is this! The next appointment wasn't for 2 months, and they didn't care...they screwed up and didn't care to get me an earlier appointment. They offer a special to get new clients, then make them wait an hour, then forget to put the follow up appointment in the computer, then not to try to work something out, come on! The guy at the front desk should have gotten the office manager to talk to me and work something out, but this wasn't offered either. A doctor is only as good as his support, and if the staff are not paying attention to scheduling, and running on time, then this Doctor is wasting his time advertising for new clients, because this one is moving on! UPDATE: 01/18/2017 My wife who didn't want to switch dentists like I did after the experience above, has showed up for 2 appts since then and the same thing happened to her. I have since found out that this is a corporation, not a franchise like I first thought. I bumped in to a employee a month ago, and she pretty much said that their idea is to always have a chair filled, and let no dead times happen. For this reason they over book in case of cancelations. DOD states that I only need X-rays and exam done and the dentist must sign it saying my teeth are good unless I have cavities/disease or anything like that. Around November 2017 they made a set of false teeth for me, they did not fit well. The teeth made me bite the inside of lip often, which made blisters. Around October 2018 they made another set, different location. Ended up with the same problem, doctor told me I had to train my brain not to bite my lip. Went back to the first location and spoke to them. The person in charge told me they would speak to the doctor and get back to me, did not hear anything. I'm having to change dentists due to a change in ownership of the dental facility I had used for three years . The new owner does not accept my dental insurance. Below is my first impression of the Aspen office. 1. My appointment was at 9:00 AM. Since I was still in the lobby at 9:30, I approached the desk and asked if this wait time was normal. Within a few minutes I was sent in to get x-rays. 2. The x-ray procedure was very thorough and professional. 3. The dentist, Dr Carter did an exam of my teeth and seemed to find many problems which was unusual as the last time I visited the dentist was in March 2017 and did need to have a cavity filled at that time. The initial exam went fine.. I made an appt. to get a wisdom tooth pulled, under sedation, and sutures after. So I set up a driver and put in for time off. They cancel day of the appointment. Days later, I take off work and get another driver that can stay on the property. Before I get in the chair the oral surgeon is trying to talk me out of getting sedated, then says "if I can't find a vein I can't do it". They asked me what vein do they usually draw blood from. So he pokes the total opposite arm in the total opposite place."I can't find a vein you're dehydrated" (they told me not to eat or drink 8 hours prior) I said just give me nitrous. No no it'll be done in a second. They numbed me up pulled the tooth and immediately threw it away. I asked if they were going to put sutures in, like I was told they would. I had a piece of a wisdom tooth left behind and dry socket in the past,it was a nightmare.. So they gave me a bag and said your prescription for pain is in there.. Their whole mission what was not to do what I already paid for, but to get me out of there as soon as possible. So I wasted half of my day, and the person who drove me there. For about 10 minutes of them yanking my tooth out. I hope all Aspen Dental locations aren't like that. I'm writing this at 5 in the morning with a huge gaping hole that's still bleeding. What I gather this is a farm for new dentist and dental assistant, their main objective is to get you implants and dentures that you can make lots of payments on. read more

STAY AWAY, this office on College in Ocala SUCKS. They are slow with service for I sat in the office 45 minutes. I was cohosted into having a cleaning that should have cost me $170, per my insurance, but ended up paying over $600. After the fact, I call my insurance company and found out they OERCHARGED me for my procedure. I received a Collection Letter that I owed Aspen Dental $77.00, I called the inefficient office and explained my situation with the collection. The office clerk call me back after 2 hours and told me, she could not find out why I was being charged this. She also said her manager had looked into the problem and could not understand why I owed $77.00. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SLEEZY INEFFICIENT DENTAL OFFICE. read more

When I called to make an appointment for an emergency because of possibly infected wisdom teeth pain, whomever answered the phone was very helpful. I was able to get in the next morning, granted the only way that was possible is if I drove to Ocala, which is about a 45-60 minute drive during rush hour traffic. But I was in a lot of pain, so fine. Once there, I didn't wait too long. However, I was consistently looked over, very little was explained to me. One hygienist would tell me I had periodontal disease, while the dentist who saw me just said I needed a cleaning, even though those were not the reasons why I was visiting. I was literally in tears through the exam because of the constant probing on my swollen gums and irritated tooth, which I understand- they have to see what is wrong. You would think that my clear expression of pain would have them focused on the tooth that simply just needed to be extracted, but all I heard about is other small cavities and crowns that needed replaced and root canals, on teeth that aren't anywhere close to the tooth that was bothering me. I was aware I needed other dental work done but they were not urgent and those teeth were not the reason I was at the dentist and not the reason I was in pain. Then, when brought into the managers office (or whomever does the payment arrangements), I was still crying, and yet the first thing they said is I had 9k worth of dental care I needed. I asked if one wisdom tooth was 9k to take out, and the lady look confused- like it didn't say right on my appointment that this was an emergency visit for wisdom tooth pain. I sat at her desk, still with tears running down my face, while she listed a bunch of nonsense and other procedures that were recommended, still without mentioning what we can do about my tooth pain, for 35 minutes before she asked if I wanted to get my wisdom teeth removed. I said yes, and then she informed me that the oral surgeon is only there two days out of the month and he was booked that day. The oral surgeon being booked makes sense, but why on earth would anyone schedule me for an emergency visit if you know I couldn't get any work done on the tooth I loudly expressed was bothering me? The lady then asked if we could schedule me for the end of the month, I said no and got ready to leave and yet she STILL wanted to sit around, after all that, and schedule me for a bunch of other dental work that had nothing to do with the pain I was in. No antibiotic prescriptions, no pain reliever, no other recommendations for the situation I was in. They just want your money. Really disappointed in my visit, as I left very upset and in more pain than when I arrived. I do not plan on using Aspen Dental for anything, which is really a shame because they seem to be flexible for those without insurance and have expensive procedures done. Instead, I waited to see an Oral Surgeon in town and I'll give them my money instead. You get what you pay for. read more

went to Aspen Dental on their once a year Veterans appreciation day for the one free service that they kindly provided for all Vets. They took care of my problems and more. Everyone from Dr. Pages to the rest of the office staff (Brianna, Lisa, Denise, Selene, and more) were honestly the best I've ever seen. Not only did they volunteer their valuable time to take care of the Vets, they actually took their time to make sure you were taken care of properly. They truly care about your well-being. Everyone was so kind and wanted to help. Words can't express how much I appreciate their kindness and their service with a smile. I came in for the free service and I am now a forever patient. I even had another appointment scheduled at my previous dental office and I canceled it just to be seen by Dr. Pages at Aspen Dental. Thank you! read more

3 1/2 hour wait. 9 am appointment arrived 8:40am and was finally called 12:10pm. Left office around 12:55pm. Staff was very pleasant but that's it. Waited more than a month for an appointment. To have someone walk in on the same day I'm there and we get seen at the same time. What.......! After telling them I may be pregnant and didn't want to get the X-rays, I was at another office just a few months back I requested the X-rays, they said "they could use it but would just need 2", just 2 are missing. If I don't take the 2 X-rays "you can reschedule" I was told. I thought to my self I waited so long its just 2. Please tell me why I agreed to 2 and these people took a full set of X-rays anyway. I have no insurance, I would be giving these people cash. I don't care about what you know, until I know how much you care. They obviously don't care so I'll spend my money else where. I am not going back and wouldn't recommend anyone to go either. read more

This office and the staff are very unprofessional. I never received a detailed price sheet, when I asked 3 times for one. I was given 4 different prices for one procedure and each time the price was higher than the previous amount. I signed a release form to have my records sent to another dentist, but two weeks later my charts are not here. When I called to ask where my charts were I was hung up on 3 times. My credit was run without my consent for a procedure I never agreed to. I would NEVER recommend anyone using Aspen Dental. read more
