I am submitting this review regarding a dental procedure that took place on 04/02/2025 at Aspen Dental with Dr. Jimenez. I had scheduled an upper wisdom tooth extraction and had opted for IV sedation due to high anxiety and sensitivity around dental procedures. I communicated this choice multiple times before the appointment and had already completed the appropriate paperwork. However, upon arrival, the dental surgeon made several attempts to persuade me to forgo sedation. Despite me stating "no" repeatedly--more than five times--he continued to pressure me, saying things like, "That's like going to sleep for a splinter," that he "didn't feel comfortable sedating me for this," that I'd get a $600 refund, and that the procedure would only take a few seconds. He dismissed my concerns, including fears about hearing drilling or cracking noises. The entire interaction felt manipulative and left me anxious and emotionally vulnerable just before surgery. Ultimately, I did receive sedation, but only after insisting multiple times. The pressure I experienced was inappropriate and felt violating--particularly as a woman and a patient in a vulnerable state. Upon further research, I found that sedation is a common option for extractions. It reminded me of situations where "no" should have been enough the first time. Additionally, the procedure that was described as "just a few seconds" actually took over an hour. I'm writing this review because the dental surgeon's behavior undermined my ability to provide informed consent without coercion. I believe this violates ethical standards and patient rights. I especially want to caution others who may be more passive by nature. Be clear about what you want, and do your research before speaking with this dental surgeon if you're scheduled for an extraction. Don't allow yourself to be convinced otherwise--it is, in fact, unethical for a provider to pressure a patient like this. Had I not been familiar with informed consent and patient rights, I might have given in to that pressure. That said, the rest of the staff at this Aspen Dental location has been amazing. This was my only negative experience. The dental assistant was a godsend--she made sure I was comfortable, gave my husband clear post-op instructions, and kindly listened to my rambling after surgery. She answered our questions thoroughly and with care. The front desk staff and office manager have always been polite and helpful during my visits, and the regular dentist, dental technician, and hygienist have all been respectful, kind, and competent. They said they had to sand the decay off of one support, then build it back up Well, Dr G says they cant use my perfectly fitted bridge, even though facts say they can. The doctor was very knowledgeable and friendly. I need two teeth to be pulled. My insurance to pay half of the cost. The financial advisor declined to allow me to do one tooth at a time. She said I will have to pay more for the one. My share is approximately $800. Not to mention, they refuse to accept my X- rays from the other dental office. I can NEVER get anyone on the phone. The office hours listed are until 6 pm, local time. I am currently on the phone at 4:18 pm and have been calling for 20 minutes, and keep getting voice mail. (I am trying to schedule routine care.) Ironically, their hold recording states they understand how valuable time is. I have called customer service THREE TIMES to call the office directly, and they were unable to get someone on the phone as well. I have left multiple messages and have yet to receive a return call. I had to switch locations after a disastrous experience with initial dentist not listening to my wishes. On two separate occasions, I had routine cleanings done that took an hour and a half EACH with no other services. The hygienists were either overburdened or uninterested. During one appointment where an extraction was performed, the dentist herself left in the middle of a procedure to work on another patient- for 20 minutes. Aspen dental is a nightmare to work with as far as billing. For the past 2.5 years they have been sorting out the billing for a wisdom tooth removal procedure. They make mistakes and dropped the ball multiple times with the insurers. I had to call their billing department so many times to move the process forward. They don't communicate well, they just keep sending bills while the claims are still pending and then tell me to ignore the bill for now. The hygienists and staff on site are great. I love posting reviews on local businesses, especially when their reviews as of late are not always 5 stars. I have been going to Aspen Dental on Airport Blvd since last September for ongoing dental work. I have to say that the entire staff has been amazing to me. It's always spotless - you know that's important when they are working on your mouth! One procedure I had done last September would have been really painful so they offer an option where they put an IV in your arm and you are completely out until they are done. I was concerned that when I woke up, I'd be kind of cranky but nothing hurt - so that was money well spent! On my first visit, I met with a dental assistant, the hygienist, the dentist and the office administrator. They were very thorough and took the time to explain my treatment plan. My next appointment is in another week and thanks to the staff at Aspen Dental, I am not anxious at all! read more

!!!!READ before booking with Aspen Dental on Airport Blvd: I booked my appointment, and was told to be there promptly at 8 AM. Upon my arrival, not a single employee in sight, but you can hear them in the back cracking up and laughing. After about 5 minutes the office manager greets me at the front desk. He was high spirited, but It was clear he didn't want to do his job. He called me "bud" once a sentence, and tried to belittle me with "I'm assuming you'll be taking the financing route".. I ignored it to further the dental treatment needed. So I'm taken back to the X-ray room, by a dental assistant who clearly did not want to come to work that day, but she did what she needed to do. Just with a poor attitude. At this point the Doctor comes into the examination room. BEFORE looking in my mouth, and with the slightest glimpse of an X-ray, he diagnosed the problem. He told me only one tooth needed work, but when I open my mouth you can clearly see two separate teeth that have surface decay. I tried to explain that to him, but his response was "we don't have to worry about the other tooth, it's not a problem right now". So, basically he wanted to give the minor problem a few months to progress, and then bring me back in for the more expensive work. He did not seem to care that the remaining infection could spread and cause real problems. Before I even stepped a foot out the door I had my old dentist on the phone to book an appointment. The whole place and corporation is unprofessional, shoty and poorly ran. They seems to care more about socialization of the office, than anyone in the waiting room. By far the worst dentist around!!! You can't even get anyone to answer the phones DURING BUSINESS HOURS, instead you're sent to a stupid voicemail or told to go online to make an appointment. If I were an Aspen manager, administrator or dentist I would know there is a big problem. If I had no means of correction I would begin thinking of another job. FEB.18: Dr Matthew took the cap off my existing implant and failed to replace it properly. FEB.19: Cap fell out of my mouth - I called Aspen and was granted an appointment to reinsert it. FEB 20: I arrive for my appointment at the appointed time, but the doctor is not on site. The dental assistant tells me I'll need to come back in 2 days for the reinsertion of my cap. FEB.21: I see a REAL dentist who tells me the cap cannot be reinserted without cutting the gum again. I paid $150 and am suffering through another healing process. Although they were booked on the one Saturday of the month that they are open, Doctor Deacon was confident that he could help me and he fit me in. He did a fantastic job. When my insurance company refused to pay $5,070 for a bridge they came after me and, 2 years later, they are still after me! Aspen Dental didn't get pre-authorization for the bridge so the insurance refused to pay since it wasn't your typical bridge. Today I got a call from my credit monitoring company which said a collection agency just put the cost of over $5000 on my credit report! My experience at Aspen Dental is a definite "Meh". Through out all of the people I encountered throughout this practice, only the hygienist seemed to be into her job. As for everyone else, they were just...there. My biggest complaint is that they are not very honest about their billing. I had to have a cleaning done that cost only $116, but instead got doubled because they added other optional fees in there without telling me. DO NOT GO TO ASPEN DENTAL! They are just another corporate entity that only cares about making money and cares nothing about their patients. I needed oral surgery and Aspen dental was one of the few places in my area that accepted my insurance. I reluctantly made an appointment, having read many negative reviews about this company. When I arrived they told me that they would have to do X-rays even though I told them I had full X-rays done at my dentist less than 2 weeks ago and I could have the x-rays forwarded to their office.. They insisted they had to be taken at their office and I told them my insurance would not pay so they offered me a coupon so I would get free x-rays. I went through with my appointment and they gave me a treatment plan for the dental extractions I needed. They told me I would have to pay out of pocket $1667.00 up front before they could make an appointment for my treatment. I was shocked and told them I would not pay at that time as I wanted to check with my insurance company. I called my insurance company and it turns out they were overcharging me by at LEAST $1,500. I called the office to dispute the charges on my treatment plan. The person I talked to kept telling me I was wrong, kept interrupting me and refused to change any of the charges. I was polite and never raised my voice, just kept reiterating the information I had gotten from my insurance company. Eventually, while I was in the middle of a sentence they put me on hold and never got back to me. I will be making an appointment with another oral surgeon. I was happy with this location until yesterday. I needed a repair on my denture and called them on Monday. The person I talked to said I did not need an appointment for a repair, but to show up at 8:00 am the next morning. When I arrived, my denture was taken and I was told it would take an hour. I patiently waited and waited. Two and a half hours later, I had to ask what the status was. The receptionist said she didn't realize I was still waiting for my denture, even though I had not left the office! They took me straight back, handed me a denture and it wasn't even mine! Feel sorry for the Dentist and technicians that have little input as the office manager appears to be running the show. Once through your exam the office manager sits you down and you are subjected to an experience similar to sales pitch at a used car lot. I scheduled an appointment, completed the paperwork and showed up early. The receptionist couldn't be bothered with me. She never put the phone down and just yelled at me across the waiting room that my insurance isn't accepted. No explanation. Very rude. The hygienist, Tamara, is THE BEST! She was very comforting and patient. Monica took all my X-rays, and was very patient with me. Dr. Dickinson is AWESOME! Aspen Dental was friendly with a comfortable environment. The staff all seemed happy to be there and serving the clients.
