DON'T GO HERE. I WISH I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS This office is a disgrace. My daughter went to them. She came home with a bill that was $1,000 over and above what was covered by insurance. When I spoke with my insurance company they were astonished at what was done. She received treatments that were completely uncovered and some are only covered for children (she's 25 but covered under my insurance). There are age cut-offs of 16 and 19. In addition, the bill states that we have a $1,500 deductible when we have a $50 individual deductible per my insurance plan. Exams are covered 100% reasonable and customary cost. They are "in network" so they are obliged to accept the insurance company's reimbursement but they charged over and above what was covered by insurance. There are multiple items that were not even submitted for coverage and she was charged for them 100% even though they are partially covered. She was asked to sign a paper that was completely incorrect and they made her pay before she left. The financial obligation that she approved was based on errant information about our insurance and is therefore null and void. She told me that she was led to believe she "needed" all of these treatments, with them never explaining to her that they were optional. My dentist always does that. She told me that she was led to believe that she had no choice. To top it all off, she was told she had to pay before she left and they signed her up for credit that has a 35.99% INTEREST RATE!!!. And they charged her based on and "Estimate of Insurance Coverage" that was completely incorrect and inflated! Anticipating a BS comment under my review that says I should reach out, I reached out to them at least 20 times and can never seem to get a call back. I've gotten the runaround for three days now and I'm tired. This is the first of many reviews I will be doing on them on social media. I also plan on reaching out to Pennsylvania Dental Association. I'm upset with my daughter for this but I am appalled at the way they used my daughter's mouth as a cash cow. This is criminal. read more

What a challenging place...I have an Independence Blue Cross Medicare Advantage plan which covers at least 50% of the cost of new dentures... This office won't accept the insurance because they apparently have had problems getting paid by Dominion Dental, the insurance dental plan's administrator... The office staff was friendly, but absolutely "lost" with insurance coverages... I was ready to just pay for the dentures and get reimbursement from Dominion Dental on my own... but the office staff then said they weren't an in-network provider for my insurance coverage... I called Blue Cross on my phone in front of the office staff, and Blue Cross confirmed Aspen Dental was an in-network Dentist... I have to use an in-network provider, or my coverage drops dramatically... I have no clue what the dental work of this office is like... but I think unless you're paying cash for their services you probably are going to have a really difficult time... read more

It always seems that I have to pay out of pocket for something when I'm there. I think they are shopping in my mouth. When I asked today if they would just do the cleaning covered by my insurance, they wanted me to upgrade to a service not covered. I left and won't be back. The receptionists working here are utterly incompetent. My elderly mother called to make an appointment at this place. She told them very clearly over the phone that her insurance was medicare, gave them the exact information, and they told her that it was accepted. She goes over there today for the appointment and they tell her that they don't take medicare, even though they were the ones who insisted over the phone that they did. How do you not know what insurance you accept at your clinic?! We lost the money for the uber ride and a couple hours that could have been spent going to an actual dentist that does take the insurance. Obviously Aspen Dental won't compensate her for that. Their dentists may be good for all we know, but if the people making the appointments don't know what they're doing, the whole practice isn't worth a damn. Are you supposed to verify the appointment three times, just to make sure that the receptionist isn't completely clueless? Avoid this place. The 'good' reviews are likely the staff members themselves or their relatives/friends, trying to drum up business. read more

Avoid Aspen Dental at All Costs Aspen Dental charged me $62.40 for three fillings that were 100% covered by my dental plan clear balance billing, which is illegal under most insurance agreements. When I asked about it, I got the runaround instead of answers. After looking into it, I learned this isn't new. Aspen Dental has a long history of deceptive and predatory practices across multiple states: Massachusetts: $3.5 million settlement for false "free" exam ads. Indiana: Settled deceptive advertising claims with the state AG. New York: Found to be illegally controlling dental practices and pressuring staff to upsell. They've been fined and sued repeatedly yet the same shady billing tactics continue. Long story short: Aspen Dental cares more about money than patients. Check your statements carefully, and if you value honesty, go anywhere else. read more

So I go in because my jaw is swollen from a broken tooth. I pay $54 for an xray and exam. The doctor tells me it's a very bad infection and two teeth need to be extracted. The infection was already in my lymph nodes and could travel to my heart and lungs. His sales person then tells me they won't give me the prescription for antibiotics unless I pay for treatment which was $988. Disgusting! I have the treatment being done for less than half that at Holland Dental. The doctor also said my zpack and antibiotics would go through the pharmacy, but the 20 codeine pills he was prescribing had to be picked up at the office. So sketchy. Ew. read more

Horrible experience: deceptive billing, rude staff, surprise charges. I went to Aspen Dental for my first visit and was told I'd need one tooth pulled and replaced with an implant, a root canal and crown on another tooth, a couple of fillings, and a routine cleaning. My out-of-pocket total was about $1,500, which I paid in advance. Here's where things went off the rails: They did the fillings and cleaning. Then they offered me a toothpaste and a mouthwash with no mention of cost. Later I found I was charged $37 and $38 under "other drugs" for those items, which are more than double what a pharmacy would charge. They added an extra $31 to $35 for each filling, and an extra $100 for "gingival irrigation" plus $53 for a "fluride varnish" that I did not get and of course not covered by the insurance. When my dental plan covers the fillings and cleaning at 100%, So that should have been zero cost. On the day of the last stage of the implant, the front-desk person asked for an additional $1,600 before they would proceed. To justify this, she claimed I had "reached my annual maximum" under my dental plan which is FALSE. My plan does not have an annual maximum. Staff were very rude when I questioned the charges. There was a lack of transparency about billing and what was covered by insurance vs what I was expected to pay. After doing all this, I felt they baited me with a treatment plan (that I did not finish), then hit me with surprise add-on charges and inflated prices. Given that Aspen Dental has known prior problems, like when they settled a $3.5 M state claim in Massachusetts for deceptive advertising and hidden fees. I should have done my homework first. Bottom line: Do not go here if you care about honest billing, transparent communication, or being treated respectfully. I have filed complaints with the BBB, the state attorney general's office, and the state board of dentistry, and I'm considering legal action. If you're reading this, think twice, or at least get a second opinion, DON'T be their next victim. I regret going here I wish I had gone somewhere else. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. This office is completely unprofessional, and I've had multiple horrible experiences with their staff. Not only was I misled about my dental procedure, but I was also charged before they even confirmed they could do the work--then had to fight to get my money back. When I called to get a simple referral corrected (because they messed it up the first time), one of the front desk employees was beyond rude, refused to help, and even hung up on me. When I went in person to get what I needed, this same employee kept telling me to "sit down and listen" instead of actually assisting me. Another staff member ended up handing me my referral in under two minutes, proving that this woman was deliberately making things harder for me. They also refused to give me her name--probably because they know how unprofessional she is. If you want to deal with an office that lies, treats patients like an inconvenience, and makes basic dental care a nightmare, go ahead and book an appointment. So I've never been to Aspen dental but let's just say I was hugely impressed with office staff being so professional and nice. And price are reasonableness and dentist was good looking ...as an added bonus. And I didn't feel embarrassed for my lack of teeth. I highly recommend this place. We decided to go to Aspen Dental for my moms for implanted denture services, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. The change in office managers during this time has added to confusion. There is a huge lack of acknowledgement and account of any mistakes of the office. Firstly, I was misled about the final cost of my mother's dentures. The initial estimate provided by the staff did not include the price of the lower denture. This left me and my stepdad feeling financially blindsided and frustrated as the office told us it would be an additional $3000 to the money already paid. This is after 4 months following all my mother's teeth removed and implanted areas in her bottom gums. We were given this bill right before her fitting for the final denture. Transparency in pricing is crucial for any service, and this lack thereof was highly unprofessional to quote us a price that was inaccurate and tells us right before the final step of this procedure. Despite this we tried to work with the office. However, my encounters with the office staff were consistently poor. Communication was lacking, and I often felt disregarded or brushed aside. Simple inquiries were met with impatience, and there was a noticeable lack of empathy or willingness to address my concerns. Our frustration with the office manager and staff left us not even wanting to continue care here and asked for informations about refund because Aspen Dental claims to have money back guarantee. The office staff stated she would have to complete the process to get the refund even though she wouldn't have a bottom denture. Despite multiple attempts to resolve these issues with customer solutions, I have yet to receive a response. I have called twice a week since February 9th to speak to the regional manager and keep being told that "someone will call you back". The last time I called the customer service asking about the refund process the redirected me to the office staff. Who only said the same thing, and that she would have to wear just a upper denture for a month and get it adjusted to receive a refund. Why would you subject a person to wear only a upper denture for a month and then ask if they were satisfied. All I ask for the office to consider that this is a situation create by the office and stated they will call me back tomm. The lack of follow-up and remedy to the situation create by the office only compounds my dissatisfaction with the overall experience. In conclusion, my visit to Aspen Dental was marred by misleading pricing, poor customer service, and a disappointing lack of resolution. I regret having to leave such a negative review, but I feel it's important to share my experience to caution others. When I called, I was told i could get a replacement partial the same day since their lab is "on site". After over an hour's worth of xrays, a gum exam and a lot of waiting, I was told that they DO NOT have a lab on site and that it would take at least two weeks. I stated that this was not what I was told on the phone and my consultant acknowledged that "The Call Center" often gives out misinformation. I asked why hadn't that been addressed and corrected if it was an ongoing issue and was met with a shrug of the shoulders. This was a complete waste of my time and I could clearly see that there were several "upsells" in the offing. Although this is a new location and really nice offices, it has been the worst experience. Staff are so UNPROFESSIONAL! The dental assistance are rude and do not speak professionally when addressing patients. I had an issue with an assistant about addressing me respectfully. I spoke to the doctor and left a message for the office manager and I never received a call. I have had several hang ups when I call. I am requesting my medical records and going to a more professional establishment.....there are plenty in the NE. read more
