Is there a less than one star??? After booking an emergency visit for 3pm tomorrow I received a call from April, stating that they could not find me in their system. Finally, after going over my information again and again, I was found in their system. My appointment was in 2023, so I would need X-rays and a consult, and "maybe" the doctor would address my painful, cracked tooth. April informed me that they only have one dentist now who's very busy! Still, I agreed to the appointment, because I'm in PAIN but what happens next? She says, oh do you still have the same insurance? We don't except that, so you'll have to pay up front for your new patient visit and X-rays! Of course, I told her to cancel my appointment, Isn't it better to just be upfront and honest? Why not say this right from the beginning when I made the appointment that they couldn't find my records?? Why didn't they say they they didn't accept my insurance when I did my pre visit sign in?? Went in for some pretty severe tooth pain, left with an $800 bill for a mouth guard that I'm still paying off a year later. Worst part, the mouth guard doesn't even fit. When I went in to get it, an assistant tried to put it on my teeth but it kept popping off. So she walked out to talk to someone else but then came back in and said I was good to go. It's my bad not asking for a refund asap, lesson learned. The business itself seems predatory so I'd steer clear if possible. The lengths they went to convince me that my tooth ache was from me grinding my teeth at night (it wasn't, I had a cavity that I got filled elsewhere) was insane. The dentist and hygienists are fine in Hadley, Massachusetts, which is why they don't get zero stars. The problem is that I have gone twice, admin run insurance and then charge me for the appointment, and both times I've been sent an additional bill a month later for $150-$200. I just don't trust them now. I've never been billed by a dentist after paying in the office before. There's a lot of anxiety with not knowing how much extra they'll decide to tack on and bill later. read more

if I could give less than one star, I would. I am now officially leaving this practice as a patient because all this week when I call DURING business hours, it goes to voicemail. Nobody has called me back out of the last three voicemails. Nobody has confirmed that my appointment for tomorrow is canceled. I was just going to change providers within the practice, but now I'm switching to an entirely different dentist because their claims of excellent customer care, etc. are just utterly laughable. The original cause of my dissatisfaction is that I was requesting dentures, due to significant issues with my teeth, including fairly significant gum loss (cosmetic appearance is a factor, but not the sole nor even most important one). The dentist stated that she refuses to do dentures for me and if I insist on them, I would have to find another dentist. her words were very close to, She refuses to mutilate my healthy teeth in order to do dentures. my teeth are not healthy. They are far from healthy. I have significant gum loss and nothing can reverse that. And, another one of my "healthy teeth" has broken. My guess is they are forced into upselling while neglecting patient care so as to necessitate further treatments. Her proposed treatment - veneers, or crowns -- would cost me between $8000 and $20,000 which is simply not feasible. and that would be AFTER $4700 out-of-pocket for the proposed cleaning and periodontal treatment. i've noticed that other patients have complained of similar things. And honestly, I should've just left at that point. One last thing when you get a treatment plan from them, look it over very carefully. I had one treatment that was supposed to be on there four times - once per quadrant - and it was on there EIGHT times. It was also an unnecessary and not scientifically backed treatment - periodontal irrigation. that is essentially a water-pik below the gum line which you can do at home. It is "professional quality" but the results still only last a few days. They also like to sneak on an expensive electric toothbrush without your consent. I cannot recommend more strongly, avoiding this place. edit: I don't know if it was me leaving a voicemail in the middle of the night that got them to call me back or what they finally called me today. The office manager "apologized" by saying that she is sorry I feel that way. Which is not an apology. It's a passive aggressive shut down. She did not listen to me at all: I indicated that I had called three times this week with the dates and times and she remained stuck on "We called you back on this day and this day", both of which preceded the times that I stated. I discovered a hairline crack in my denture purchased from Aspen 5 years ago. This was the second crack within that 5 year period. Since the denture was no longer covered, I assumed I would have to pay for the repair. What I didn't know was that in order to get a repair I would have to have an exam and x-rays, all to the tune of 352.00 before the cost of a repair. They claim an xray is necessary to see if my "other natural teeth have shifted." I explained that I have a cardiac implant in my chest & was not comfortable having xrays. After someone spoke with the "dentist" I was told that because they have "digital" xrays the "dentist says I should be OK." Regardless of my concerns, they refused to do the repair unless I agreed to the xrays. It is obvious this practice and its dentist, in the Wilton NY office, does not feel it is necessary to respect their patients serious medical concerns, choosing instead to pursue what is obviously, just a money grab. read more

Don't ever go here!!!!!! I just left my dental consult, I have a pretty painful infected tooth and don't have an established dentist, so I called 1800 dentist and got an appointment here. When I arrived the staff were all very nice, the guy who did my x rays was extremely nice and patient, I wish I could give him 5 stars. But after sitting in the dentist chair it all went downhill, the dentist Angie Ramirez-Cruz was the rudest, most hateful person I've ever come across. She acted like she hated me for even being there. Very rude and condescending. She didn't explain what she was going to do at all, so when she pulled out the pick thing I jumped back a little, I mean I'm in a lot of pain and I didn't know what she was about to poke, so she threw her gloves off and got up and went behind me and said "if you're not gonna allow me to do the exam I can't help you". She was pissed, I apologized and said I'm just in allt of pain and I was afraid of it hurting. She rolled her eyes and pretty much yelled "I do not hurt my patients!!" I was like ok I'll relax. I made it through the rest of the exam but WOW!! They say they're compassionate? I asked if she's never had a patient before me that was a little squeamish and got no response, they were supposed to do some measurements but were unable due to my mouth not opening wide enough. And I was told to see an oral surgeon. Thank God, I would never allow this woman anywhere near me with surgical instruments. Then I was quoted $2,400 to come back for 2 fillings and a cleaning. Like what? That's insane, I mean maybe for quality dental care but never for this Walmart dentist. I have many other complaints I could go on all day but I have to end it here. I'm finally leaving Aspen after many years. The Queensbury office seems to have a staffing issue and can't keep dentists. I've had three different dentists over the years, only one of which I really liked. They always billed me for payments due in addition to my insurance and I once got a refund from a class action suit against them. This made me suspicious of their billing practices. Today (6/2/22), I called for an appointment because I broke a tooth. They said they couldn't get me in until 6/27/22 -- 25 days from now! I was just there for a cleaning in March. They said I needed an exam before I could be treated. They cancelled my last exam and never rescheduled it (my current dentist had left the practice), but my cleaning appointments have proceeded as usual. I'm now looking for a new dentist... read more

I'm trying to get my Xrays from my visits to Glens Falls. I seem to be getting a run around. I have seen other patients complain about that as well. The poor lady who initially answered the phone and took my request did finally see my records but then had me hold on while she had to ask the "office manager" something. When she finally got back on, she seemed somewhat nervous and said office manager would call back. Never did. Could it be that I complained heartily after my visit that they had burned my tongue, and no one would call me back that time? There were so many excuses - Dr on vacation, I left a message on the wrong phone number, etc. No one ever even said "I'm sorry" except the nice little girl at the front desk who was going over my file. I'm beginning to think that the cracked crown the doctor seemed to see on my Xrays maybe wasn't there. She proceeded to say I needed a whole new one to the tune of several thousand dollars. during Covid, I had a root canal and post and crown tooth break, and needed to have it looked at as soon as possible. I ended up having the tooth removed by a dentist at aspen dental biggest mistake I have ever made. I was put on antibiotics, and told to wait several days, when I returned to have the tooth pulled, the dentist was not able to numb the area she stated it was infected. So instead of waiting for the infection to clear up, she started removing the tooth, while slipping and hitting my upper tooth numerous times, and feeling everything that was being done. The assistant even had words, after the whole incident was over. My lower lip stayed numb for several weeks after the procedure, which usually means nerve damage. Please think twice before going to aspen Dental. I worked in a dental office 20+ years. This is not a good place to go. read more

Please please whatever you do, do not go here. They are awfully rude and the rooms are extremely dirty. I had the worst experience there and I unfortunately paid out of pocket. While I was waiting, they were angrily talking behind me about how they don't work with my insurance and that they didn't know why I was there. They wouldn't clean my teeth if I didn't purchase the two Crowns recommended by the Dentist at $1,000 each. Pre-Payment required! My wife's experience was even worse. It's all a sales experience with people who should be "medical" staff trying to sell you things and not listening to your needs. It was a half hour of waiting. I recently moved up to the Adirondacks from Long Island, New York and needed to find all new doctors and a dentist. After going to one dentist in the area for a cracked filling and having an extremely bad experience I chose Aspen Dental. The receptionist on the phone and the staff when I arrived were so friendly and very polite and made me feel comfortable during my entire time there. They did a complete (about 20) set of xrays and the dentist replaced the cracked filling that I had without any pain what so ever. Lets face it...no one likes to go to the dentist, but it was a wonderful experience and I will now continue to go there read more

Unethical, terrible service I had a dental emergency and was referred to them by my hotel. I checked their website which clearly indicates "Emergency Visits welcomed". I called and made an appt for 9:00am. I arrived on time and saw 4 people in the waiting room. I approached the desk and I gave my name and insurance information. The Office Manager asks me if i lived in the area. When i told her that i live in NYC, she told the receptionist to code me as "limited". A few minutes later she informs me that the dentist can not see me and for me to go to a nearby urgent care for antibotics. No further explanation given. They didnt even see me or allow me to fill out a form to know what was wrong with me and they diagnosed me?!! My wife went in for a cleaning. 6 months earlier she had a cleaning and was told her teeth were fine at the same place. This time she was told her gums were in terrible condition, and that the previous hygienist was "a temp.". She rarely ever has cavities or gum issues, she flosses for 3 minutes every night. I'm 31 years old and had my second cavity ever fixed at this establishment. They had to try to cover the cavity three times in one visit...the obviously new and uneducated woman who was working on my tooth had another dentist come in to fix her mistake. Long story short.... I had to come back to have it filled again.... the tooth KILLED me for weeks after so they said, "Sorry there's nothing else we can do and go see a root canal specialist." Save your money, pain, and time and go someplace where the staff is KNOWLEDGEABLE!!!!!!!! Also, they gave me the money back for the cavity to be filled so they must've known they messed up. These guys are absolutely ridiculous. No matter how many times (I seriously have lost count) I have told them to update my contact information they fail to do so. I haven't lived at the address or been associated with the contact information they STILL have for 5 years. Furthermore, since my insurance changed and I got married my account was supposed to be merged with another one, and yet again after numerous times they fail to do so. My insurance covers everything fully (or at least it should until they lie to you about how much stuff costs until after they do it). But they can't figure out how to update their systems. So useless. Figured that when I logged in to my account, you know, with my email address I was going to my account. It turns out I wasn't and I had a balance. Well, I didn't know anything about this balance because of the aforementioned reasons and they send me to collections. The amount? A whopping $80 freaking bucks. THAT ALL SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED BY INSURANCE because I paid everything else out of pocket in store. I am just paying to $80 because I am so fed up with dealing with these incompetent people at Aspen Dental. I will avoid this place like the plague. Seriously the worst dentist I have ever been to. I can't believe I stuck with them for this long. Did a terrible job repairing a tooth, are extremely painful when doing a cleaning. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS AND PROTECT YOUR FRIENDS AND LOVED ONES BY TELLING THEM TO STEER CLEAR! So, the rating is more so about the price of the treatment because in my opinion--its a bit fishy. I had two fillings and four wisdom teeth extracted for the price of $3,500 but my mother had 7 teeth removed and got two sets of dentures for the same exact price? We both got accepted by the same credit card company. I understand that what I had done is expensive but it's just off that both my mother and I would have the same exact payments and all. The staff are all super lovely, front desk staff, financing staff, they are very friendly, they made everything very tolerable so there is no complaints in that regard. The oral surgeon did a great job with the wisdom tooth extraction and I barely had any pain afterwards even without pain pills(they prescribed them I didn't need to take them). Anyway, if they are doing dental work for you do not fear--to me it was quick and painless and that's all I ask of a dental place. read more

Pathetic excuse for a dentists office. It took me three months to get an appointment for a simple cleaning. The day before, they called me to reschedule because the dentist was under the weather. These things happen, I understand. So my appointment finally rolls around and they won't even clean my teeth, first I need a consultation with them. Why was this not said when I made the appointment? I have three cavities, and they say I need fillings. But before I can make that appointment, I need to schedule a cleaning (which is what this appointment was supposed to be in the first place!) Long story short I arrived for my appointment for fillings this morning that I booked out two months ago, and CONFIRMED with the office yesterday, that I indeed had an appointment for fillings today. I drive 45 minutes from where I now live, to be told by the rude receptionist that I received a voicemail requesting me to reschedule my appointment two days ago, which I never received. They're now booking appointments all the way into January, and my teeth will probably need to be pulled before then. THANK YOU ASPEN DENTAL of Queensbury!
