My appointment was for a standard cleaning and exam. However, Aspen has their own way of doing things AND they don't tell new patients until the appointment is OVER. I was shocked and extremely disappointed. After starting a half hour late, their staff took x-rays. Once that was done, I was examined by their hygienist, Kelly. Twice a year EVERY year for my ENTIRE life, I have had my teeth cleaned and examined. The hygienists have accessed the health of my gums and taken their measurements. NEVER has anyone caused me ANY discomfort. Kelly pricked my gums so painfully that I finally stopped her and said something. She seemed offended but some how continued WITHOUT pricking me and causing me pain. She said that I needed deep scaling treatments on my gums "first" BEFORE they would clean my teeth. A dentist appeared, said that my teeth looked healthy and told me to schedule the deep scaling before moving on to another patient. I waited in the entry for another fifteen minutes before being directed to their office manager who PRICED OUT these ridiculously expensive deep scaling treatments. I left after being there for an hour and a half WITHOUT even having my teeth CLEANED. I left frustrated and confused as to what just happened. It made no sense based on my dental history, having been a patient of different dentists who have maintained my dental care every six months with no history of gum disease, bleeding gums, etc. I just wanted my teeth cleaned. I wish I had checked Yelp BEFORE I went to the appointment. read more

My appointment was cancelled last minute and the next available appointment was for 8 months later. This was after they had me confirm my appointment for tomorrow. I was told the best they can do is call me if there is a cancellation. but right now, ASPEN DENTAL on CHILI ave in Rochester NY is not taking care of their patients who has regular cleanings. we have to wait a year to be seen. read more

Took my 11 year old daughter To the commack location daughter to get a root canal told the endodontist before he sent antibiotics prescription that my daughter couldnt swallow pills He said no problem Guess what? he sent pills Neither the pharmacy or us could get in touch with the endodontist which was not at commack location so we had call the ronkonkoma location which was not very helpful called so many times kept telling the Dr was busy Waited a couple of hours called the office again and he was gone for the day . not very happy with that read more

If I could I would give them a zero! I needed a denture repaired so thought I would give them a try. What a mistake......after completing entrance paperwork I was told I needed to have X-rays. My appointment was for a denture repair! I told them I wasn't going to pay for something I didn't need; they said no charge. OK......after the X-ray, I assume it was the dentist, came in and looked at my lower denture, as well as the upper plate and I was told to go and see a person at the desk to schedule work...........what work? I am told by the office person that I will get a full upper and lower plate! Some "consultation"! No discussion regarding what is needed and why, or why something can't be done and why. Due to insurance changes I needed a new dental hygienist and dentist. I think Aspen is a bad organization, refusing to review my current records and misrepresenting their ability to schedule services. Here's why: Aspen told me on the phone they could probably get me in for a cleaning within "a few" weeks so I scheduled for an initial visit. I received a hard sell at the Aspen check-in counter; they needed to first evaluate my condition before they could even try and schedule a cleaning. I asked if they could do a simple cleaning, and how long that would take to schedule. They wouldn't even check their schedule for me. The counter person did say that most scheduling was three months out (for any cleaning service). So what happened to "a few" weeks; that was an obvious lie. I explained that I had dental records, including XRays done within 6mo and no concerns, just needed to schedule a cleaning. They refused to discuss until I signed up for their full review including XRays and whatever else the dentist might advise. So I walked away without an services. I found another dentist and hygienist who scheduled me for a cleaning within 5 weeks. That went well. The hygienist found no concerns during the cleaning and the dentist gave me the typical 2 minute look and wave. read more

I went in for a wisdom tooth and tooth extraction when I tell you Dr Tin was rude didn't communicate the steps as he was doing the procedure just went in my mouth very roughly and harshly!!I had the so called IV sedation which I wasn't supposed to remember I was supposed to be relaxed and feel no pain..Let me tell you I felt it all it was so painful I was screaming as he was tearing and pulling and being very aggressive he pushed he's body towards me and said stop screaming stop screaming I said it hurt really bad he said but your screaming and the anesthesiologist chimed in rude as hell also instead of giving me more anesthesia I started crying expressing how painful it was but they did not care Dr Dgaf I mean Tin open the door and began telling some one to go get Tiffany like now now now I couldn't believe the mistreatment I felt.. after wards he walked out the room rude didn't say have a nice day I'm sorry if you were uncomfortable or anything I promise when I get better and healed I will be reporting him when I get my permanent crowns from prior dental work from them I will never ever return back. NO Stars. I made an appointment at 9 am at the irondequoit branch after i woke up to my face completely swollen. I was 15 minutes early. but was not taken back for 2 hours. when I was taken their INCREDIBLY RUDE intake lady. the one that takes the xray of your mouth had smart a## remarks when that thing you get put into you mouth falls outta place. when i entered a room ( 2.5 hours ) you have hope that your gonna get seen. NOPE i was 4.5 hours later before you even see someone. i stayed cause my face looked like a chipmunk eating nuts and i was in PAIN. only for them to poke the entire mouth while their dentist and assistant are saying things like "woman up". only for them to tell me that they would need an obscene amount of $$ before extraction. and sent me home no prescription for swelling no antibiotics.NOTHING. I am a due diligent person. I researched their website and called before so that I'm clear. Their website clearly mark the pricing for procedure. How did a $132 extraction turn in $5600. YES just one tooth. ASKING me pay for things i didn't ask for. or was associated with the visit. ALL COSMETIC. 7.5 hours in a place that did absolutely nothing. and I live 5 minutes away I was seen at regional health 3 days later. ( old tops in Irondequoit.) and they removed the swelling and tooth that day in 20 minutes and my insurance covered it all. I spoke to other dentist and their response to what happened sounded like I should called a lawyer. and that's exactly what I'm Doing. I have to leave a review because I can't believe anyone would have a bad experience at Aspen Henrietta. First off everyone there is very welcoming when you walk in. They all seem so happy to be working there. That says a lot about the place. The dentists are so good at what they do. Being very patient and explaining procedures to in detail so I know exactly what's going on. I have had 1 root canal and 2 implants and I have to say I wanted to cry with happiness with how quick, painless, and well done the procedures were! Will never go anywhere else read more

We came in for routine check up and cleaning- the hygienist did a check up on my gums and was hurting me sooo bad. It felt like she was ripping my gums off! She diagnosed me with periodontal disease- it just didn't sound right because I have pretty healthy gums and teeth and have never ever had gum disease, bleeding, pain, etc. I asked for copies of my X-rays and went for a second opinion.. I told the another hygienist/dentist what they said and they said i definitely do not have periodontal disease. They also told me I was the 3rd person in 2 weeks to say the same exact thing. I should have read the reviews before I went!! Our friend just said they gave him the SAME diagnosis last week and was going somewhere else now. Such a waste of time!! And almost gave them about $1000 to treat me. Shame on aspen dental! read more

Based on a recent visit to "have my teeth cleaned, I am re-writing my review on two separate Aspen Dentals processes: (1) My initial 5 star review remains related to my Husband's visits for teeth removal and new dentures. Dr. Malik did an excellent job on extraction of several old teeth and Bambi, an experienced Dental Assistant there, did an excellent job on working with my Husband through the new denture process. (2) My appointment was to have my "teeth cleaned", however, my experience of their dental requirement was shocking and disappointing. Their Staff took xrays. Dr. Malik took note of my dental history, reviewed my xrays, checked my teeth said they looked good and left the room. All was great, friendly Staff, until now, but then two people came in and pricked my gums and said I needed treatments on my gums "first" BEFORE they would clean my teeth. They were getting ready to do treatments with no details or explanation of costs or procedure... I left the dental chair after being there an hour and was headed out of the office as this made no sense based on my dental history: having been a patient of a different Dentist Office who has maintained my teeth care every six months for at least 27 years with no history of gum disease, bleeding gums, etc. A friendly Staff member on my way out the door asked if I wanted the costs and details. She gave me the cost, three $$$ figures and number of visits it would take should I decide to have the gum work done. I just wanted my teeth cleaned. Insisted I needed full x-rays and assured me they were free for my first visit. Once I was in the chair the "free x-rays" offer was rescinded because my issue was a repair. The person to whom I spoke on the phone understood my issue and assured me that x-rays and my first exam would be free. Once I was in the chair they quoted one price and then tried to charge me substantially more. Only when I insisted that I would not pay the additional charged did I get the price I was quoted, which was, IMO, very expensive given that they simply cemented a crown that had come back in place. I'd call Aspen Dental the Wal-Mart of dentists with all due respect to Wal-Mart. They're more expensive and exhibit less caring than any dentist I've ever used. read more

Made an appointment for an emergency filling and was told to come to the hylan location. Arrived early only to be told they booked me on the wrong end of town, the bad end of town. Was told they could rebook me and had an opening at the same time at hylan. Was made to wait an hour and a half. In that time I saw thirteen people come in to complain that their stuff had been repossessed despite them having proof their insurance paid for everything. But it only gets worse from there. When they did finally call me in they were rude and unprofessional as well as transphobic. They tried to sell me extra services and x-rays I didnt need despite the fact my job would be put at risk as we have radiation limits where I work. They are every reason corporate should never be in healthcare. Health and wellness is not a commodity. I wouldn't trust them to change a tire let alone a filling. It was heartbreaking to see so many old people and respectable community members losing it all due to mismanagement of documents and inhuman bureaucracy. read more

When asked to review my daughter's experience a week ago, I gave 5 stars. After going there myself today for a new patient consult, I would give NO stars, if that were a choice. The constant up-selling of Invisalign (9 separate times I was "encouraged" to get it even though my teeth are nearly perfect) and the insistence that I required "deep cleaning" made it the WORST dental experience I have ever had in my 45 years. They refused to schedule my cleaning for less than $645 out of pocket and I have full dental insurance! Not only that, the very fact they required that consult, took 18 x rays and a 3D image, prior to allowing me to schedule a cleaning was a travesty. In this day and age of COVID-19, that's an excessive amount of diagnostics. And for what? To convince me my teeth are going to fall out unless I spend hundreds of dollars on a cleaning? The. Worst. I just canceled my husband and two children's appointments and my daughter, who actually did have a decent experience last week, will not be back. Five potential new patients is now ZERO. Don't call this place. You're better off with a different dental provider who cares about dental care and not the almighty dollar. read more

This dental office is AWEFUL. The attitude of its staff is next to unbearable. When I went there, they didn't carefully check my insurance before giving me a panoramic X-ray. After a glance into my mouth, the dentist told me she cannot clean my teeth unless I do a $3000 procedure with them. When I asked why, she told me it is the way it is. I receive a bill of $150 (X-ray plus service), which can totally be avoided since my insurance will pay for it if it is taken 2 months later (my insurance won't pay for anything in the first 12 months). I later called in to transfer my X-ray to my new dentist, the receptionist was so impatient and rude. I wish I could give them a negative 5 star. read more
