6/3/2026 my husband and I had our first visit with these folks. We recently moved to San Angelo from the Great Lakes area and it was time for our 6 month check up and cleaning. The ENTIRE staff from check in to check out were absolutely amazing! We checked in promptly at 7:55 for our 8am appointment and had a brief wait until we were both brought back to the exam rooms. My X-ray tech was professional, friendly and not only did he explain the process he also asked me if I had any questions. Next was my hygienist and again she was friendly, professional and also asked me if I had any concerns or questions. The billing office was the same, professional, friendly and explained everything as well. Not sure why all the negative reviews here on Yelp when the reviews on their website (Google) are much, much more positive. I would recommend these folks should you need dental work. When we got back to our car I asked my husband how his visit was and he had the same opinion as I did and he had different staff members than I did. First off, I was treated with indifference by the front desk receptionist and asked to speak to her supervisor. I have never been treated with total disrespect by anyone like I was with this particular lady. She was very condescending and when I questioned their services, things went down hill from there. I have used them in the past and although it took them 3 times trying to make dentures for me, they finally agreed to refund my original purchase price for them. I would not recommend this particular practice to anyone. If I could give their service a 0, I would. Oh and I called to lodge a complaint over the phone and my request was supposed to have been upgraded to one of their senior complaint supervisors who was supposed to call me, which never happened. Went Aspen Dental in San Angelo, TX to get replacement dentures. The personnel were OK, but the dentures were very poor fit and quality. During the first year the top set cracked in half between the front teeth and extended about 3/4 of the way toward the back. I ended up taking them elsewhere to get them repaired before they totally broke in two so I could still use them until I could afford to get new ones. I am almost 70 and have had several sets throughout the years. These were by far the worst quality set I have owned, and the most expensive. read more

From start to finish, highly professional, front to back. Dr. Cantù, Jose, Abby and T the dental assistant. Today was my first visit, they have me scheduled for a follow up next week, got the teeth cleaned, getting new partials, a reline done and an abstraction completed. The abstraction was infected, others were gonna let it fall out on its own, they were proactive and removed it and new partials ordered. Reline will be completed next week. Antibiotics to assist with the periodontal disease. Yes, I'm vet satisfied and it was not as expensive as I thought it would be due to excellent dental insurance! read more

Great Dental Assistant staff & Dentist! But Terrible Front Desk personnel. I came in there politely asking questions. She was rude & was just short with her answers while staring at her computer & not even look at me in the eye. Whatever is bothering her. She should not project it to patients. She is a the face of the company. She was not very inviting. Not even a smile. She's in the customer service business she needs proper customer service etiquet training. I am so angry and in so much pain. Dr. Cantù was supposed to send a prescription for pain medication. At 5:00 my pharmacy had not received it. The pharmacy closes at 6:00. And called the dental office and tried to explain the situation. The receptionist insisted the script would be sent. As I was trying to give her an alternate pharmacy she hung up on me! So I have a giant gaping hole in my gum after having a tooth ripped from my mouth and no Pain medication. I live 1 1/2 hours away from San Angelo in a small town with no pharmacy. Had emergency root canal and this is he only place that tricare dental (United Concordia) is in network for a root canal specialist. They were very friendly and nice from the very beginning with calling for an appt, the only downside about getting a root canal here is that he (endodontist) only comes into town once a month to do the procedures. He was very nice, gentle, and explained everything. I thought they did a good job until I found out. They lied to me all the way through they have lied to me. Oh yes ma'am you are covered 100%. You will not have to pay anything. That it's only until you get the bill. On top of that, they bill your insurance for something that she says they do not even do in the clinic. Oh, who said that? The financial person that the front desk says that we don't have one excuse me.? Yes, ma'am you do and she says right there behind your front door to the right in that office. And then they are trying to run the bill through under a dentist name that never saw you. Well, I know why this is because he was not certified to do that job. The one that did the job was not certified to do it, so they have to run it through. Under a different wants name that is. Because I have it recorded on my phone "call Sam". Oh my my my, can we get any dirtier than that! The fact is, I have the whole conversation recorded because that is what a closed caption, phone does. It is not my fault. That is how it works. It is not my fault if that business is going under. They might try hiring people that treat others is human also because one of the other things that they said to me was "We are human ". Well, so are your patients! And we want to be able to trust you! So why bring such a talented young dentist down after so many years of his hard work of learning how to do his job? This had to be the worst experience I have ever had at a dentist. From the beginning nothing they told me with the same from person to person, the estimate they gave me at first was nowhere near what they told me it would end up costing. Watch these people they are not right. Keep your hands on your billfold! There is no patient relations to speak of and you are just a number and a $ to them. When they find out that you will not tolerate their procedure then all of a sudden you have a hard time getting an appointment. Sometimes waiting three months for them to call you with an appointment only to find out that they hadn't scheduled yet. Do your self a favor and find another dentist and forget Aspen Exists! If I could date this place into the negatives, I would. I was scheduled for wisdom teeth removal. On the day of my surgery, the oral surgeon was very honest in saying that he thought I needed to go to the ER due to unforeseen circumstances. I am very grateful for this because I became septic. However, I was charged $1,500 for a surgery that never happened. When I went (in person) to request a refund, the lovely front desk girl started to mouth off to my mom and say things under her breath. She was saying things like "If you want something done, you need to say it nicer." I raised my voice to the little girl who then turned the case over to the "financial case manager" so she could cry in the back. This was an ugly situation that could've been handled in a much more professional manner on Aspen Dental's side. Do not go here unless you're ready to be billed for services they didn't provide. The staff is friendly and clearly hard working. If you have things to do on the day of your appointment you should pretty much clear your schedule to wait at least 45 minutes to be seen. My first appointment was at 8:00am and I waited close to 40 minutes to be seen but ended up being rescheduled. My second appointment was scheduled at 10:15am but yet again they are short staff and I waited 30 minutes. Overall the staff is kind and clearly educated on all dental matters. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Estimate I was given at the start of the my cleaning process was grossly underpriced compared to what I ended up paying. I was hung up on half a dozen times when trying to resolve my payment/insurance issues, that is when I was actually able to get my phone call answered. Yesterday I called to make two Pediatric Dental Appointments and made it quite clear that we were a military family and were covered by TRICARE Dental Insurance. The Call Center Representative took my husband's name and "full SSN" to ensure we could avoid this step the next day. Five minutes ago I arrived to my appointment and the Front Desk Representative asked for our Dental Insurance Cards. I again explained that we were covered by TRICARE Dental Insurance and she said she was sorry but they did not accept our insurance but were in the process of trying--the Call Center Representative was sadly mistaken. After waking up my small children at O'DARK THIRTY and then driving 20 MINUTES to be told I needed to pay $359 for two Dental Cleanings that I already pay Insurance for is RIDICULOUS!!! After some back and forth they were able to squeeze me in at a later time that same day (the date I had been rescheduled to). Services are good quality and staff are friendly and knowledgeable, but they need to work on the causes of their frequent scheduling problems, i.e. not overbooking. read more

Read Fred C.'s post - he's not lying! I'm going to try and be diplomatic and not sound like a disgruntled complainer. These people are not completely forthright, even my insurance agreed. It started with my first visit Where I sat in the waiting room for 2 hours! but only about 1 and half the second visit. After my first visit they recommended a deep cleaning, they told me that the insurance would cover half and I would have to pay my half of $1900. My insurance said that if that was half, then they took me for a ride. What surprised me was that they told me my insurance was paying anything at all because I had to have the insurance for a year before they paid such fees. Next time they told me my root canal and crown would cost X number of dollars, with my insurance paying their part. When I got to my third appointment, (because it was a 3-step process) they said I still owed an additional $500 dollars because my insurance wasn't going to pay. I ended up paying the additional sum, because I had already had to prep work done. After I shared my displeasure and distrust, the dentists did hastily put in my crown, I think I've been vaccinated slower than the time it took him to set my crown. Still my insurance said, we couldn't have ever said that because I still hadn't had the policy for a year. Up to this point the insurance was only covering an initial exam. I can't really complain about the work done by the dental professionals, (even the crown seems to be holding up) the hygienists and dentists seem competent. The dentists extract the teeth, and the admin arm of Aspen Dental - extracts everything else. These are my experiences, I'm sure there are many with pleasant experiences, and God bless them, but please verify everything they tell you with your insurance. And please be prepared to wait, these people deal in volume. read more

The staff was polite and courteous but they quoted me over $5000 dollars for a recommended procedure and when I said no way I could afford with no insurance they "lowered" the price to $4000. Eventually got the price down to $1900 for a procedure that normally costs between $00 and $800. Shop around folks!! read more

The absolute worst customer service I have ever seen in my entire life. The billing "specialist" was especially rude and condescending. I spent over 4 hours of my time there because they failed to schedule me properly. After being told to wait back in the lobby for a hygienist to be available (when I was there for a cleaning in the first place), I waited 30 more minutes before asking the front desk staff if I would be able to get in today given I had taken time off work. My scheduled cleaning was at 7:30 and it was now close to 11. She turned to another lady who ended up being the billing specialist who replied "I'll get to her when I get to her. She can wait." Mind you, I am standing approximately 15 feet from her in plain sight, so I can hear how disrespectful she is being whilst knowing I'm standing there. When I spoke to the billing specialist, she stated I would have to pay over $2,000 up front to have two cavities filled. I refused, knowing my insurance should cover it. I asked her to go over the charges again and it dropped tremendously. She clearly is not doing her job properly and could be costing many people loads of money if they don't question the charges. I have heard horror stories of people still dealing with insurance issues for months and months at this Aspen Dental location. Something seriously needs to change. The dentist, techs, and hygienist were insanely sweet and caring. The front desk/insurance office needs some help or preferably new employees. Terrible experience. I am new to San Angelo, and this was my first visit to the dentist since arriving late last year. From the front desk, to the X-Ray tech, business manager, dental hygienist, and dentist...everyone was very professional, friendly, and accommodating. If this type of atmosphere continues at my follow-up visit next week, Aspen Dental will be my choice for dental care for the next three years...until I'm off on another adventure. Worst medical office I have ever visited. Continually canceled appoints. You schedule an appointment however when you show up for your appointment they tell you that you don't have an appointment, but you can wait an hour or more and they may be able to squeeze you in. After the dental procedure the "dentist" very rarely looks in to talk to you for more than a few seconds. The prices are extremely high! The service, including the medical service is exceptionally bad. The "dentist" does not care about patients. They claim to be associated with Shannon Memorial Hospital. They are not. Because I was having an issue with a painful tooth, I was scheduled in fairly quickly (two weeks wait). The staff is very friendly and helpful. I appreciated the very comprehensive exam and explanations which were free as a new patient. I was given a written plan of action to fix my dental issues, along with the cost of each procedure. The only reason I did not give a 5-star rating was the fact I had to wait more than 2 hours after the exam to see the office manager for the written plan. read more

I don't understand why it takes 3 months to get an appointment at this place then they only do the consultation then you have to schedule the actual cleaning appointment. It's just a huge ridiculous hassle! You should just schedule the cleaning when you schedule the consultation. I didn't even bother to go to my appointment at this place because frankly I don't have time to get wait another 3 months to get my teeth cleaned after the consultation. It just makes no sense. I need a dentist where I can schedule a cleaning and an exam for the same visit like I've done my whole life. I spent 2 hours waiting for my exam and one hour waiting for my cleaning at a follow~up visit. The wait time is unexusable. And it seems to be their norm from everyone I've talked to. I came early for my cleaning and was told that I should be able to get right in. Two hours later and I still sat in the waiting room. But I'll only count it as an hour wait since I arrived early on my own decision and wishful plan of getting in timely. Bottom line, plan on waiting an hour or more for your appointments. read more

They will sit you down up front before your appointment and tell you what you owe after insurance. They wouldn't even let me book an appointment without a $200.00 "booking fee", which I found obnoxious as it felt like a prepayment. Initially, I liked that they told me up front what I owed---until I got a bill two months later for another 400 bucks beyond what they said I owed. They said the insurance company told them the wrong numbers, when I asked why the initial numbers were no longer valid. The first time I got a bill, Aspen said they just needed to add a narrative and resubmit to the insurance company. After the second bill, they said they hadn't done the 'narrative'-- just a note and they would re-resubmit. That didn't work either. After consulting my insurance company, it seemed that Aspen's billing system didn't accept that there was an in-network cap or want to admit that they had done a procedure in a way that wasn't kosher with the insurance company, meaning I had already overpaid even before the additional $400 bill. Even though the office manager tried to be helpful, she had no authority to do anything locally besides "submit requests", which made me feel like they were procrastinating until I gave up trying to get the bill cancelled and the refund due me. read more

I had a 2pm appt. I arrived @ the office around 1;50 PM with my paperwork in hand and filled out. I was the only one there. So the girl up front said they will be right with you. Well, after seeing 5 people come through the door and get called to the back, I inquired again when I would be called back, and again she said they would be right with me.
