Everyone at Twin Mountain Dentistry has made my family and I feel very welcome since the moment I picked up the phone and decided to switch from another local dentistry to them. As a military family, it's difficult to move all over the world and start all over in the search for good doctors, dentists, etc. But, Twin Mountain Dentistry made the transition smooth and stress-free. We have received excellent customer service from the entire staff when it comes to waiting in the lobby, discussing treatment plans, and most importantly during procedures. They also seem to genuinely care about their patients. If only we could bring you with us everywhere we move! :) In response to the previous reviewer about the long wait to schedule an appointment and wait time in the lobby to be seen, I will say that they work really hard to work with your availability and even offer to put you on a priority list. In our case, I knew our first initial appointments would take a little while longer, but that's to be expected when you first move to a new city. But, they have been very prompt to work with cancellations and rescheduling options. We also have not had to wait very long at all soon after we arrive for our appointment. My kids also enjoy coming to visit this dentistry, despite being very timid. They like that the hygienists and Dr. Ochinang are gentle and caring with them. They know what they are doing but it's not worth the inconveniences that they subject you to. I went there for the first time a month ago for a routine cleaning. They gave me an estimate and I of course had to pay way more after they ran insurance. They told me I need a filling so we booked that. Again, had to pay more than the estimate after insurance. Three weeks after I got my filling the tooth has severe pain when exposed to high or low temperatures and chewing crunchy things. Twice, they have called the day before to ask if my scheduled time could be moved to later or earlier than already scheduled. I get to my third appointment with them for a consult on the tooth that is sensitive after the filling and I wait for 40 minutes before they look at me. Not once did they tell me how much we longer it would be. I would avoid this place. They just want your money. read more

The office gave me a quote of one price and later that day they called back notifying it will be a little more after they ran the insurance. I agreed to pay that out of pocket charge it was a little over $160.00 for cleaning xrays and fluoride. A month later I'm getting a bill of almost 500!!! Called my insurance and they said that this dentist isn't covered and that they never actually checked with my insurance. I should have read the reviews before I even made an appointment. read more

While the staff is courteous and pleasant the billing practices of this practice is borderline fraud/scam. As I have a major PPO plan which I do understand Dr, Ochinanag can charge whatever he wants, and I totally expect to pay a copay for their services. But to continue to receive bills that almost match what my insurance paid is crazy. When we first moved to San Angelo we had three other dentists but Twin Mountian is professional and more than that they are current using the latest methods. Wish I had trusted other reviews. Ridiculously expensive, told what I would be charged up front. Paid it and then got a second bill. A very expensive 'consult'. Of course I won't be going back, they've been paid enough already for doing nothing. I can find friendly for much better prices, plus even dental work to go with it. read more

I had a terrible toothache and called in to the office on a Monday and staff is just in to confirm appointments and Sonja answered and quickly scheduled an appointment and said that Dr. O was off but that she would call him and he would call me back. Sure enough he did call me back and called in medicine for me. Excellent service and the staff are all very helpful. read more

The staff seems friendly but the cost is excessively expensive! I needed some fillings and a root canal- ( I know a root canal is expensive) but not nine grand expensive. Even with insurance I couldn't afford this. I was told I needed prescription toothpaste- they never did call into my pharmacy due to me not agreeing to treatment plan for either extraction of a tooth which is four grand or root canal with a few filings of nine grand (with insurance) My first visit was X-ray and cleaning that I paid $50 due to insurance deductible (later I found out that my insurance company that verified with me that I am eligible for free cleaning) I was sat down after my cleaning and they showed me two papers with two different treatment plans with a huge amounts.... Maybe it's just me but this is expensive! but my braces didn't even cost this much ( different dentist out of town) and neither did my last dentist that retired that put in my filings!! I had a lot of fears about going to the dentist, because of bad past experiences, but after the 1st visit at Twin Mountain I knew I was in good hands. Everyone, and (I do mean everyone) was amazing to deal with. I had a lot of trepidation going in because I knew I had neglected my teeth for so long due to my fear of getting dental work done, but once we did x-rays and they explained all I had to get done (and there was A LOT) they never once made me feel bad about waiting so long. They treated me with the upmost respect, and I am happy to say that after 8 months of getting work done I finally have a healthy mouth, and it is all thanks to Dr, Ochinang and his wonderful staff. I will continue to go there regularly now, and would tell ANYONE that Twin Mountain is second to none in San Angelo, Texas! read more

Avoid. I would write more but what's the use. Inconsistent scheduling. Basically calling patients liars is not a way to keep business. Waiting six months for an appointment then having the office close that day after you had already taken off work? Not cool. Especially when they don't even apologize or try to recover your faith in them. Customer service is lacking. read more

Had an appointment for tomorrow at 900am. Called my dental insurance and confirmed cleaning and X-rays covered at 100 percent. Was told they would have to call insurance to verify. They verified by insurance but they recommended 3 services not included and wanted 90.00 today to reserve appointment. I told them I only want a cleaning and X-rays. Blanca states that's why we makes these calls to let you know what you owe. So basically my insurance ends in 8 days that I have paid for over 8 months and they hold my appointment hostage for services I do not want and need. All I can say is greed! read more

Disappointing. Somewhat rude dental hygienist, time consuming with additional photos. I've been to dozens of dental and ortho offices and never experienced the business model here. At one point they had me standing against a wall taking 20 digital photos of my front, sides, using props that I would hold in my mouth and so forth. This was after 50 minutes of X-rays, more photos and then more photos. Talked down to by hygienist for just wanting a cleaning. The office seems to have a huge emphasis on the Invisalign business and large dental procedures rather then general dentistry. I left after an hour. The dentist attempted to sway me back in for 15 minutes, he became rude during this brief encounter. Perhaps if they would have let customers decide on having the 3rd set of photos taken as they cost $$$ and aren't needed it would become a better business. The front desk staff was friendly, which was refreshing! In conclusion, this may be a good place for some folks, just not a sales model for dentistry I'm a fan of. -SF read more

Don't be fooled by the inviting atmosphere, this dentistry is a scam. I went in for a regular 6 month teeth cleaning/check up and they wanted to charge me $100! I have never paid out of pocket for any regular check up in my life. Without prior authorization or consulting me about charges, they put a topical fluoride paste on my teeth after the cleaning (which I found out from my insurance company later is approved only for children under the age of 16) which came out to be $42, uncovered by insurance of course. They also charged me $18 for an "oral hygiene instruction", which involved the assistant showing me the correct way to brush and floss teeth using a model. Seriously?! The lady at the front desk (who is married to the dentist...imagine that) said they "usually" (ya, right) tell the patients up front about these charges, but of course none of this was run by me. They are obviously scamming patients to make money, avoid this dentist at all costs. At least I reported them to my insurance already...definitely going to pursue this further so that it doesn't happen to anyone else! Ridiculous!! read more

I completed everything online for my husband and me. I gave a worker my insurance information over the phone and she said she would call be back if there were any issues. I went to my appointment and once I saw all their fancy equipment, I asked "Is insurance going to cover all of this?" She looked and replied, "Well like so and so told you, your part is going to be $260.00." She had NOT told me and as it turns out, one of the biggest insurance companies in the world, Humana, is Out-of-Network. If I had not asked that question, I would've been billed $260.00 and twice because my husband was scheduled for later that day. I was outraged and left immediately. I have worked for insurance many years and think its poor business when providers do not advise their patients that they're OON. I take some responsibility, because I know to check, but assumed since she didn't call me back and because it's Humana, that everything would be covered. They did one simple x-ray and I am now being billed $54.50 for it. I do not feel that TMD is a trustworthy place of business. They might take advantage of people who don't know to ask the "right" questions. Shame on them. So make sure they're INN before you wait 6 months to see them!! They are scammer with cleaning, got charged $109 for cleaning, because they booked before time. After reading everyone's reviews I think they do it on purpose so they can charge for their fancy office. Don't waste your time and money, specially if you are military dependent, Go to Aspen. read more
