Montgomery, DMD that we would no longer be using their office due to the poor dental work done on my mother. Instead of taking accountability, they responded by dismissing her from the practice, which felt like an attempt to avoid fixing their mistakes. My mom spent over 9k on dental work and her teeth look exactly the same as before. We were called back several times for "rework," yet Dr. Montgomery rarely even worked on her mouth and mostly left everything to the assistants. At the beginning, they offered my mom "free fillings" because we were dissatisfied with the service. Later we found out the dentist was already offering a free dental day, so that didn't feel like a genuine effort to make things right. On our final visit, Alex was nowhere to be found until I specifically asked for him because I wanted to express our concerns and give them one last chance to make things right. When he finally appeared, he gave a lame excuse saying he had been speaking with the dentist. He never made any real effort to resolve the situation or stand behind the work that was done. It honestly felt like Alex didn't like that I spoke up on my mom's behalf. His behavior was extremely unprofessional and a complete disgrace for someone who is supposed to represent Byron Dental. After spending over $9,000 and going back multiple times, we left with the same results and no real accountability from the office. 0/10. I do not recommend this office to anyone. I hate that my mom had to go through this experience, and I would strongly suggest others think twice before trusting them with their dental care.

Here's a taste of what could happen to you, should you choose to let them be responsible for your dental care. I've had multiple fillings done at their office, with at least two of them resulting in re-dos because of the poor work done the first time around. I was even contacted after one of my cleaning appointments after they reviewed x-rays to come back and get another one repaired at no charge. Flash forward to beginning of January, I show up for my daughter's cleaning appointment and present them my new insurance card. My employer had switched providers for the new year and the informed me that they did not accept my new provider. That was fine. I had them cancel any of my family's standing appointments so that we could find a new provider that would accept our insurance in the area. However, they kept my appointment to fix that single filling they did incorrectly at no charge. I confirmed my appointment when the reminder came through and didn't hear anything else from them. I come to the office for my appointment and no details were confirmed at the check-in window, I was never called up. So I get back to the exam room with my tech and I ask her to please make sure that everything is okay with my filling being done at no charge still, because that was the original agreement and since they don't take my insurance anymore, I didn't want any surprises after they were already done working on me. I saw her review my chart where it said the filling was to be done at no charge on at least two different entries, but then she said that since it had been over a year they would no longer be able to do it at no charge. She consulted with the doctor and he confirmed. My question was why I hadn't been contacted previously and notified of this change to an already agreed upon price/procedure and they didn't really have an answer. My time taken off work isn't valuable to them and apparently, as a patient here, you are supposed to be familiar with all their internal rules and policies. Needless to say, I left and didn't get the filling replaced due to their inability to communicate their internal policies. Everyone I spoke to just had an excuse but no reason as to why this wasn't communicated to me even a month ago when they confirmed they were keeping the appointment. If I had known there was going to be a charge, or a statute of limitations on when they would honor their word, I wouldn't have bothered keeping the appointment or going in and wasting my time.

    I had my first visit with Dr. Koch (pronounced Cook) today. I'm very pleased. I just went for a…read moreroutine cleaning, but it's the most thorough cleaning I think I've ever had. They used a vibrating water brush (like a very high-powered water-pik) that is awesome at getting around your gums, and instead of swishing mouthwash at the end you get foam mouthwash in a soft tray that you hold in your mouth for a minute. My hygienist was Peggy, and she explained (in real people words) what she was doing as she did it - I hate when dentists tell you that your T4 is colluded with your XMV 3rd molar and other dentisty words. She also didn't ask me questions when my mouth was full of instruments - I appreciated that. They had a TV in the room that I could put on whatever channel I wanted. They have an oral surgeon on site, which I unfortunately won't be able to review as one of my wisdom teeth is so impacted I have to go to a specialist. They also offer bleaching trays and 6-Month Smile, which looks like some kind of Invisalign. I would highly recommend them.
