We hired Aspen for a roof replacement due to storm damage. Generally we were happy with their work. However, we had a few punchlist items for them to address. Due to their installation. we had 2 damaged facia pieces, some aluminum soffit that came out of its support track that needed fixing, and one missing piece of downspout. It has been almost 3 months since the install, and Aspen has still not addressed this. If Aspen would've just addressed these items in a prompt way, my review would've been different. But now apparently we are left hanging. read more

When I was hit by a storm, I was totally beside myself. All 3 of my roofs needed to be replaced. Home, Garage and pole barn. I talked with several exterior companies but the one that really stuck out for me was Aspen Exteriors. Andrew, my exteriors specialist walked me through the entire process. He took his time with me to explain everything from start to finish. Believe it or not but the job was finished in only two day. I would strongly recommend this company to anyone. Several of our neighbors had other crews in at the same time (4 on our block/cul de sac) replacing siding and/or roofs. My roof and siding were damaged in last summer's hail storm. Aspen was quick to come out and meet my adjuster to go over the damage and get a plan in place. Because there were tons of homes damaged, my project was far down on the list and it was a few months before they could begin. Aspen always kept me up to date with timing, which I appreciated. The roofing crew was speedy and the roof looks great! The siding wasn't started until a few months later but again they kept me informed and the siding crew was also good. My roof had hail damage and was able to get all covered through insurance.The installers did a great job, they were in and out within 2 days and did a great job cleaning up. Aspen replaced my roof. We had another company show up and start tearing off our roof discovered they were at the wrong house and left our roof with no shingles on part of it. I called and Aspen dropped off our shingles the next day and our roof was replaced the following day. We were going to have our roof replaced with Aspen Exteriors at a later date but they stepped up and got us taken care of much sooner due to an error by another roofing company. I highly recommend using Aspen Exteriors our salesman Jack and project manager Justin were awesome and went 1000% above to make sure we were taken care of when another company messed up. read more

We had a great experience with Aspen Exteriors to install a new roof. Bryan Bowan, our project manager, was knowledgeable, professional, patient with our indecisiveness on roof shingles, and provided excellent communication throughout the process. The roof installation did a quality and quick job. They very willing to work with our schedule with two young kids to ensure most of the work was performed when we weren't home. what started as a simple siding and roofing project turned into a 26 month nightmare. they destroyed the downspouts, put nails thru the panes of 4 of my windows. put a hole in my shed my roof leaked after they were done. clean up was horrible. probable a hundred nails left on the roof when the were done. siding was falling off of the house their communication skills are horrible at best. it's a good thing I owed them money or they probably wouldn't have addressed any of my issues. Poor workmanship a poor customer service, They split my trim on my siding, Sent pictures to them, never heard back from the from the office. If you have had work done by these guys I would check out the little things. Still picking up nails, there was pieces of tar in the lawn where the dogs lay so I was picking tar off there fur. This company installed a new roof on my mom's house and installed the ice and water shield incorrectly, the nails are popping and haven't been caulked and the shingles already have granule loss. The work was done less than 3 years ago and they will not stand behind the incorrect installation and an inferior product. They are suggesting we have to file a claim with the manufacturer of the shingles, whom they sourced the product from to use on her roof. My mom's insurance company is cancelling her homeowners insurance unless she replaces the roof. And Aspen is claiming issues are due to weather. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! read more

Aspen Exteriors installed a new roof Fall 2019. Looks great, happy customer. However another pair of contractors came out for the gutter and leaf guard install. The quality of work was abysmal and I complained to someone at Aspen (Steve?) who only responded "Looks perfect to me". Who was nothing shy of condescending and just a jerk. It looked like the only tools they used was a hammer and tin snips. Anyway I got tired of the back and forth with this piece of work. Decided to cut the cord. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They took almost $5000 from me to install a new roof and did not show up on the scheduled date and time. They have made a ton of excuses and have been very unprofessional. I was told that I could get a refund less 20%. However, I only refused to let them do the installation after they failed to show up and did not communicate with me about that. The other option they suggested was to proceed with the install. Not going to happen. I'd only get more of the same. This company says that they are accredited by the BBB. Anyone who pays the BBB can be accredited. They have a history of being shady. You can see it all over the internet. Shame on Aspen Exteriors for taking money from people and then treating them badly!!! If one of their sales creeps comes knocking, RUN! read more

Do not use Aspen Exteriors for your roof repair - you will be out a lot of money!! You will need new decking (plywood on your roof - that is not covered by your homeowners insurance. You won't get the color shingles you were promised. Materials take a month to get to you. When you now have to pay for your decking out of pocket, billing department states they are a mom and pop shop. They want payment ASAP, yet they have done 20 million roofs? How can that be? I did my homework, so I thought. They looked reputable to me..... I chose wrong. read more

Aspen Exteriors is the worst contractor we have ever dealt with. They are unresponsive, dishonest, chronically late, disrespectful of ourselves and our property, and downright rude. They took over 9 months to complete our project, caused damage to both the inside of our home and our garden which they refused to take responsibility for or even attempt to remedy. Even after voicing our concerns multiple times a supposed VP at Aspen continued to ignore phone calls and emails. Subcontractors would arrive completely unannounced or not at all, and then the billing department harassed us with phone calls even after we communicated to them that we were waiting on the check from insurance. If we could rate them 0/5 we would. We've told all our friends and neighbors to avoid them at all costs. Never hire this company. read more

I wish I could give a better review. Up until they started roofing, I was very happy with the process. The roofing crew cut corners during clean-up so that I had to spend some time cleaning up outside. Maybe I was spoiled by the last roof job I had done where I wouldn't have known the roofers were there. I can live with this because asphalt by nature is dirty. The frustration came on an out-of-pocket expense that I was told was optional. At the beginning it was "a couple hundred" then I figured it would be about 750-1000 based on what some friends in the business was saying. Final bill it was 1700 and when I called in I was told it was not optional. I told them I would gladly pay the bill if they could give me in writing an estimate of the out-of-pocket expenses on my parent's home which is going thru the same insurance claim. That is not possible. So not only have they got me. I don't know how to help protect my parents from the same thing happening to them. read more

Aspen was doing a walk through in our neighborhood and noticed our horrible roof. They stopped by and were very respectful and asked if they could inspect our roof. I gave them the go ahead and they were very thorough on what needed done. They helped me with my insurance, they were here when my insurance adjuster came to inspect the roof. Everything was done in a very timely fashion and it was done in a jiff! Aspen was very fast and left our roof in perfect condition, they also were very good at cleaning up everything when they finished. I would recommend them 100%! read more

We have lived in our house for 10 years and 2020 is the first year that we have ever had to submit a claim so we were new to the process. A lot of our neighbors used Aspen a few years ago and Aspen came to check on them after the hail storm we had. Dale came and talked to us and we were instantly at ease. We were working on starting our kitchen remodel and doing a new roof was not something we were wanting to deal with. Dale made the process easy and was there when our insurance adjuster came out. I would highly recommend Aspen to my friends and family. We recently had a derecho come through and I sent a message to Dale and he immediately responded. He said he would be down to check on us and it made us feel at ease again. Two claims in one year is craziness! Thank you to the staff at Aspen for helping us through this crazy times! read more

This was the worst home experience we have had to deal with in 15 years of homeownership (including a flooded basement). We retained Aspen Exteriors for the replacement of our roof, once they were able to get an insurance submittal request approval. The initial customer service experience was extremely positive when Matt coordinated everything with insurance. Once our contract was signed, however, the experience was a complete 180, with lack of professionalism, courtesy & communication from that point forward. In early June, Aspen cashed our deposit check within 24 hrs of receipt, then proceeded over the next 6 weeks to not provide any updates relative to progress & timing on scheduling the roof replacement. Aspen never provided a proactive update even though they cashed a $5,000 check. This differs from Aspen's marketing collateral where they seem to indicate a concierge-type approach to the roof replacement process-which turned out to be lip service and marketing only. The work started 7 weeks after our check was cashed, with a phone call from Aspen one week prior to job start after I called to leave messages weekly. Aspen would not guarantee or confirm the timing of the day of work since they do not have control over the crew-as we learned. The 3rd-party crew showed up one day that week to start the work and the roof was a 2-day job based on roof size. What we learned is that Aspen does not directly employ the crew, or have any direct/indirect oversight since the 3rd party crew that completed the work had no foreman on site that spoke English and could explain what was going on since we also had gutter replacements occurring that same week, following roof installation. When the separately-contracted gutter crew came out, there were some issues that the gutter crew caused that the roofing crew came back out to fix, which was appreciated. However, it was apparent that the roof was laid in an inconsistent manner, with the shingle overhangs different at different locations of the roof. What transpired from mid-July to early September included 30+ emails between myself & the Aspen-employed project lead, the owners of Aspen and our initial point of contact Matt. Over and over again, we communicated that the job should have a direct foreman, in order to have quality assurances not made by a Facetime call between the 3rd-party crew to the 3rd party foreman located in Texas while we are in Iowa. Only through hours of painstaking documentation on my part, being my own supervisor (not relying on the company we paid over $14K to do the job), dozens of photos and emails questioning the integrity and professionalism of Aspen Exteriors were we able to get the job completed to our satisfaction. Finally, after a month of back and forth, our project manager at Aspen (Brad) and I negotiated a final scope, which was apparently not communicated to the crew or there was nefarious intent between the scope Brad & I agreed to versus what was communicated from Brad to the crew (bait & switch). When the crew came back out on a Saturday am in mid-August, again after no heads up on timing, the crew did part of the remediation we agreed to & attempted to leave. I was required to sit outside to supervise the 3rd party crew (still no foreman or Aspen rep to inspect/supervise given the on-going issues) to confirm and validate the roof work being completed was what we agreed to. The crew attempted to leave 3 total times that day, then finally claiming they ran out of shingles and would come back the next day to finish (they did not return the next day or again). I then had to individually point out to Brad each component that was deficient, inclusive of the continued lack of integrity and professionalism that Aspen clearly touts on its website (https://aspenexteriors.com/about/credentials/). I then had to wait another 3 weeks for the off-site foreman to visit Iowa from Texas and complete the work himself. In total, the job is complete, however, this was the most painful home project we have had to deal with. read more

Aspen Exteriors replaced the roofing on both of my homes. It was the easiest home repair I have ever "done." (Because I didn't have to do anything.) They did most of the work setting up the jobs with my insurance company and they knocked out the work very quickly (in a single day they stripped the old and replaced with new.) I became involved with Aspen late in the fall when the weather was turning too cold and wet. Therefore, while the agreement was made in the fall, the work was done in mid-March. I was very impressed that throughout the winter, I would get a call about once a month telling me that everything was ready to roll as soon as the weather broke. Although I wasn't worried a bit, the calls were a nice touch! The man I worked with knew what he was doing and he was good at it. The woman that kept track of me monthly was very personable, friendly, and knew what I wanted to know before I asked. I called her once and she answered the phone with a, "Hi Tyler". The crew that did the roofing were all over it. They also did a better job cleaning up than I had expected. A few weeks after the job I went outside to put a pile of cardboard that had been accumulating since Christmas into the recycle bin and found that they had cleaned up my big pile along with their construction trash! There was not one single thing about the process that was not top notch. read more

We originally ran into some miscommunication issues with our salesman but Bryan stepped in and went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of as promised. After David Dorious, Aspen sales representative, consulted with our insurance adjuster, we recieved insurance checks in the mail shortly thereafter to replace our roofs in our 32 unit apartment community. The process was easy and David was very professional and knowledgable. I found Roberto and Ray, the roofing forman, very polite and well-intended. They always made sure their crew cleaned up their mess each evening and were a pleasure to be around. Would not recommend this Organization , Poor customer service and doesn't stand behind there work or the products they use on there job's. As someone who has been in property maintenance and HVAC industry for over 20 yrs , It's very disappointing knowing there are companies like this ... Now with only 1yr on my new roof they installed they wont even stop out to see what the situation is with roof, nor listen to what i told them the problem was... so i take it they don't stand behind there work or product used.. So beware and do your research before you select a Exterior contractor... I dont what to see anyone else have the same negative experience our personal household is having... And will make sure to pass the info to our venders, realtors, contractors, that work for our board of directors to keep this poor service from happening to any of our current / new customers... All calls were answered promptly and with genuine interest. When an issue arose on the work day, Connor came and made sure my request was addressed. yay! Charged over $1000 for items that were NOT REPAIRED! Was able to get some of the fraudulent costs credited back, but still unsure that we weren't overcharged. Clean up was HORRIBLE, nails and tape backing EVERYWHERE. Customer service via telephone is horrible and rude, poor communication. Submitted a bad Google review and was contacted the next day regarding the issue. Offered $100 gift card to change the Google review to positive. Did not accept. Aspen did send someone the next day the Google review was written to do a better clean up of the nails and tape. DO NOT RECOMMEND EVEN CONSIDERING THIS COMPANY!! read more

I must say I was very impressed with the way Bob made it a point to have open communication with me and my family about our home. My mother in law's home was struck badly from the recent Blaine / Coon Rapids storms. It also was on the market to be sold. The inspection for the sale of her was 1 day after the storm. He took the time to show me the hail damage, explain the insurance recovery process and assist me in getting a replacement roof approved with my homeowner's insurance. I am especially grateful that Aspen met with the insurance adjuster personally and provided him with the information needed in order to file the claim. In my research of Aspen Exterior's credibility, I did find that they do have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. I find this to be a true and accurate report. After one month without an update on our project I received a call that my selection paperwork was lost. Another month went by before finally getting a call that our job would start soon. Apparently this company has several branch offices throughout the country, because we live in Utah and had our roof replaced by Aspen Exteriors. We had a very positive experience in the beginning. Our sales guy, Dave, actually approached us and offered to help us replace our roof through insurance. It sounded too good to be true, but he was telling the truth. Obviously our rates will probably increase, but will be minuscule compared to what a roof actually costs. We paid our deductible to get the ball rolling, and our insurance covered the rest. Aspen Exterior was very responsive and thorough through each step of the process up to installation. The actual roof looks wonderful. Installation was uneventful, and only took 2 days. The roofers were very polite and cleaned up like they were never here. The day after we noticed a boot on a ventilation pipe was a different color, and looked to us to be the old vent. We contacted our sales rep, he advised he would get it fixed. 3 weeks later, and several texts with Dave, nothing was done. I received a final bill from Aspen and submitted it to my insurance for final payment. I contacted the main office to see if we could get the correct boot installed. This is when the customer service was a complete disappointment. Chad in the warranty department contacted us. He was smug, arrogant, has a terrible temper, and is easily triggered. He is abressive and lacks any culpability, not the best of qualities for a warranty manager. He had multiple excuses in one conversation as to why it they would not be replacing the boot any time soon, if at all. Once we realized the struggle ahead of us we decided to hold the final payment until the job was 100% complete and to our satisfaction. We ourselves own a trade business and wouldn't expect anything less from a customer. After several unproductive and unpleasant conversations with Chad, we tried to deal with Dave our sales rep. Unfortunately we were still given the run around for several more weeks. He said it was due to an illness but no one else attempted to rectify the situation, it's possible terrible communication between departments is at fault. We did however get many friendly and eager people attempting to collect the final payment, so that was nice. After speaking with probably 6 different people in the company, ranging from the payment department to production, and 2 months later, they sent Dale the handy man, who was pleasant and efficient; he fixed the boot in 40 mins tops. It doesn't look the same as if it was done right the first time and I hope it does it job, but all looks decent from the ground. Funny fact, 20 mins after the handy man left I was writing out the check to mail, I received a phone call for final payment. This is understandable, it is a large sum of money, but still comical they were gnawing at the bit to get paid, when we weren't the ones who were who were giving them the run around; we wanted nothing more then to pay them and move on. In the end we are satisfied but not thrilled with the experience. I have VERY LITTLE faith in the warranty of the product due to our experience with Aspen Exterior's warranty department...mainly the warranty head, Chad. I hate to rate this 3 stars because for the most part we had a pretty decent experience, however installation is only a small portion of this transaction. Customer service and warranty is the longest running product of this purchase, and I have an educated hunch any issues in the future will be a fight. read more
