Wow what a great time, every time. We have been going there for 10 years and I can't say enough about this place. We first visited for dinner and were made to feel so special and the food was so great that we booked a family Thanksgiving weekend cabin. It was incredible from the grandkids on down, everyone said that this was the best family holiday we ever went on. The fishing with the grandkids in their stocked pond was great even then and the food as usual was out of this world. Karen and Steve Simmons and family are the most wonderful of hosts. You feel like they are including you into their family. We have since been back for our employee holiday Christmas party and many dinners and any newcomers we bring with us are just slack-jawed open-mouthed thrilled. Thank you for so many beautiful memories. Bobby and Lois Brodmerkle read more

We first visited Aspen Ridge Resort in January 2000 when my husband-to-be and I were looking for a special place to have our wedding. We immediately knew we found the place. Karen and Steve Simmons are incomparable hosts. They make you feel like family (well actually better, because they don't expect you to help with the dishes). We had our wedding in August 2001, booking the entire resort. It was the BEST wedding ever (and I'm not the only one who thought so!) We've been back almost every year since. We love the cozy cabins and the horseback riding in the summer (this isn't one of those trail rides where your horse is just following the one in front, you're actually out "helping" with the cattle). The ranch and surrounding acres are incredibly beautiful whether in the summer or covered with snow in the winter. And, of course, the restaurant. Two words: Tri-Tip (or is that considered one word?). If you get a chance to go over a holiday -- their turkey dinners are fabulous as well. We've got a few vegetarians in the family and the Simmons are very accommodating for their needs also. Breakfast and lunch options are top notch. Bottomline: there's no way you could go away hungry. They've got a good choice of wines, and Steve makes a mean margarita. Aspen Ridge is one of our favorite destinations and I'm sure would be yours too. read more

Come and share life on a century old, working cattle ranch. Far from the beaten path, Aspen Ridge is nestled in a hidden valley in the mountains of south-central Oregon. Live a cowboy's life on a 14,000 acre spread in the middle of nowhere. Indulge yourself in recreation or relaxation. Ride horseback with the ranch crew to check the cattle. Wet a line in a mountain lake. Meander through a meadow full of wildflowers. Just be still and soak in the calm, peaceful beauty. In the restaurant, enjoy traditional western fare prepared with care and pride, and cooked by "the boss" himself. At day's end, settle back in the comfortable elegance of your own log cabin or lodge room. After a brilliant sunset, beneath a canopy of stars, listen to the coyotes' serenade. In the morning, the warbling call of sandhill cranes will be your alarm clock.
History
Established in 1992.
In 1989, after years of entertaining friends and family in our primitive accommodations, we began construction of Aspen Ridge Resort. To be sure, it was a crazy, far-fetched idea. "You're doing what, where?" was the incredulous response of more than one person who heard of our plans. But the dream took shape and the cabins, lodge, and all supporting systems were completed and open for business in January, 1992. The years, and thousands of guests, have proven what we felt the day of our first visit. There is magic in this place. In the eighteen miles between the highway and the ranch, the rest of the world slips away. We invite you to come share our home. This may be the place you've been dreaming of too.
