We explained why toe scrapes were huge to him and they agreed 100%. Every person we encountered was so kind and helpful. Dr Hazel was awesome and gave solid advice. I am more than 100% satisfied with the care my husband receive!!! Thank you so much Sarasota Memoria!!!

I'll start by saying they have valet parking when you come to this hospital for regular visit or for ER visit I had to go to the ER Thought I was having a heart attack or stroke. They got me immediately back ran a ton of test for two days kept me for observation overnight. It was a complete team approach and I was very very very impressed. The other time that I was at this hospital was recently when my friends daughter gave birth. The entire process the entire team did a fantastic job. Communication was amazing. Their procedures and policies were very modern and up-to-date. After the birth and in the room, the baby never left the room or the mother side or should I say site they had a lot of educational resources and made sure that the Mom understood many things about being a mother what to do in the early days, taking care of a baby. There was a lot of education a lot of communication and a real desire to help the mom take care of the baby the way, the mom wanted to have things done. They were very respectful and very attentive. I could go on and on and on, but after having experience in other hospitals, I can't say this is absolutely the best hospital I've ever been in a reserved service from.

Multiple life threatening hypoglycemic events necessitating hospitalization, all the while keeping her on diabetes medication when we asked repeatedly to please confirm discontinued. In addition pain medicine abruptly DC by MD upon admission. It was a disgrace and she died within approximately two months. I feel confident she would have lived longer if I would have chosen a better healthcare environment. I believe if the assigned physician was more familiar, involved, proactive my mom would be alive and thriving today. But sadly she was none of that. Despite being there daily, not a single communication or condolence following her death.

My father has been at Hawthorne twice for short-term rehab and twice for outpatient physical…read moretherapy. There's a reason we've gone back: Their skilled nursing section for short-term rehab is on par with other local centers PLUS their physical therapists and equipment are top-notch. If you read a bunch of reviews, please consider that skilled nursing is a type of facility that will AUTOMATICALLY get bad reviews. No one wants to be there, right? It's not an Airbnb. There are clients with widely varying needs, some more urgent. Everyone seems to want everything as if they are the only patient, but staff can only handle one patient at a time...no matter what facility. Take a look. No facility gets many 5 stars with no 1 or 2 stars. Understand short-term rehab is in many regards what you make of it. If you stubbornly refuse to get out of bed, you're going to get bedsores. Yes, even at home. Particularly with the elderly who have fragile skin. There's something called "personal responsibility" that the client and their family need to employ. Short-term rehab is not a place to dump your loved one and ignore them. I didn't. My mom didn't. We were there daily and made sure things were good. Overall, they were. As such we were on a friendly and first name basis with Tim, Leo, Lindsey, Barbara and Jackie, etc. They were always responsive to our needs and answered our questions. Organized. Smart. Hard-working. Communicated perfectly. Your loved one is there because you cannot do at home what they can at a skilled-nursing short-term rehab. They have people who can lift your heavy loved one out of bed, get them showered and dressed, take their meds, and get them to their PT sessions. Plus, they have to deal with all kinds of personality issues of grumpy old people in pain who are thankless, miserable folk. 24/7. They're in pain and don't want to be there. Forgivable. For people with kindness and gratitude, Hawthorne was wonderful. At least they were to us. True, the food is average institutional food designed to meet many needs. Sometimes we brought him Chick-fil-A or McDonalds because he wanted it instead. That's okay. Not against any rules. It is not perfect, call buttons need to be faster, but realism says that if the call response was faster, there are people who abuse it, calling every 5 seconds. A few more staff would be nice, but realistically speaking, vetting staff for a thankless job is a complicated process. It was clean and had activities and a beautiful courtyard where we sat and enjoyed picnic lunches with my dad. My grandkids even came to have lunch there. All this to say, believe the other reviews or believe me. Or both. Short-term rehab is largely what you make of it.

Title: A Nightmare Experience--Listen to Your Instincts and Seek a Second Opinion…read more I chose Dr. Stolarski for my April 2024 knee replacement based on his reputation and promised technology. Unfortunately, my experience was the worst of my life. Pre-Op & Concierge Fees: I was not allowed to speak with Dr. Stolarski until the week before surgery. He dismissed my pre-op MRI, stating he only needed to know I was "bone on bone." I requested a titanium knee, not a "smart knee." During this time, his staff suggested a $10,000 out-of-pocket "concierge fee" if I wanted faster appointments and direct access to the doctor who was operating on me. I declined. On surgery day, Dr. Stolarski never checked on me pre-op, post-op, or spoke to my family in person. Months of Dismissed Pain: Immediately, my home therapist noticed my knee would not bend. For months, I suffered from severe pain, swelling, and heat." It took 5 months of exhausting physical therapy to get my knee to bend but the severe pain and tightness remained. Despite a normal MRI at 8 months and bone testing at 12 months I was dismissed, told I had "anxiety," and that everything was "perfect!" I begged Dr. Stolarski and his PAs for help with finding cause of the pain. In August 2025, a medical assistant--not the medical team--suggested metal testing. I paid to expedite bloodwork through a Chicago lab and discovered a nickel allergy. In October 2025, Dr. Stolarski coldly told me if I wasn't better now, I never would be, and suggested a total revision. The Truth Found Out of State: In January 2026, I sought a second opinion in Atlanta. Within 15 minutes of looking at new X-rays and my metal testing results, that surgeon revealed the truth: my knee was overstuffed (too big), the kneecap was too thick, and despite my requests for titanium, the implant was made with nickel. Recovery: I had a knee revision in Atlanta in January, 2026. On day one, I could sit in a chair with my knee bent at 90 degrees. Five months post-op, I am hiking mountains in North Carolina completely pain-free. Dr. Stolarski's office either completely missed glaring issues on my X-rays or chose to ignore them. To them, you are just a number. If you are hurting after your knee replacement and being dismissed in Florida, trust your gut and leave the State for a second opinion.
