Three and a half years ago my husband and I decided to start a family. I day dreamed of what our child would look like, their personality, and the joy of telling family members we were expecting. I never did think that I would not get pregnant within the first few months, besides most of my friends got pregnant the first or second month of trying. I tried chlomid prescribed by my ob/gyn and had my Fallopian tubes tested and my husband tested and there wasn't anything medically preventing us from getting pregnant. It wasn't till two years later that I decided to go to a fertility doctor to get further testing done. My doctor had given me several business cards of fertility doctors to choose from. With much prayer to even go a step further we choose Dr. Witz from Houston Fertility Institute. The first consultation with Dr. Witz confirmed my skepticism of fertility treatments right away. I wasn't looking for a doctor that was going to push me into something that may not be necessary. After reviewing previous testing done he found a polyp in an ultrasound that was done the previous year. He was very considerate of pain, and feelings during procedures and ultrasounds. He removed the polyp and then we tried on our own for several months. With disappointment that that wasn't the answer we went back and he laid out our options of our next step. My husband and I decided to do IUI. After this procedure didn't work we decided to take a break from fertility stuff and spend some time in prayer. It was great that Dr. Witz understood and never pushed us into doing anything else till we were ready. About nine months later we went back in just to gather information about options. He decided to do some more testing and then we received some information that brought us to the decision of IVF. In July of 2011 we began our IVF cycle. When going through an emotional procedure like IVF, I was thankful to go in every week to a caring staff. Melissa the receptionist at the Clear Lake office is very outgoing and sweet. She knows the patients by first name and always takes the time to know more than the fact that women are there because of a struggle to get pregnant. Cecilia is the nurse that drew blood every week and took my calls so willingly when I had a question. She is great at her job (which is important when you are getting blood drawn once a week) and also very personable. And Dr. Witz through it all is very knowledgeable and explains everything thoroughly. He is witty and considerate of everything couples go through during this very emotional period of our life. We are so blessed that we had a good doctor and staff to work with and we expecting March 31, 2012. My husband and I believe that God is the ultimate creator of life and we are thankful that he provides knowledgeable and caring people to help through obstacles in life. My husband and I were referred to Dr. Witz at the Clear Lake branch of the Houston Fertility Institute after over a year of unsuccessfully trying to get pregnant on our own and with my OB's help. The office, staff, and doctor were all very welcoming and everyone worked to make us feel comfortable and at ease. We met with Dr. Witz, came up with a plan that included some diagnostic tests and an outpatient surgery at the Piney Point location. They also told us upfront about our insurance benefits, what was covered and not, and gave us a price list for the fertility treatment options that were not covered under our insurance plan. Once we discovered that we had "unexplained infertility," we sat down with Dr. Witz once more to discuss options. He was very helpful in letting us know the success rates and drawbacks of each option in an unhurried and helpful way. We felt as though we could ask him questions until we were satisfied, which can be somewhat rare in a busy doctor's office. His suggestion for us was IVF (the most expensive but most successful option), but he sent us home and told us to sleep on the decision and call the office when we were ready. We ended up deciding on one of the least costly but least successful options (IUI w/ clomid), and the office was very helpful in getting us started and set up for our procedures. I felt like they were as attentive to us as if we would have chosen IVF, which was very comforting. The ultrasounds and blood tests which helped them determine when we were ready for the procedure happened at the Clear Lake office, directed by the very capable and friendly nurses (particularly Ceci) and staff. The weekend ultrasounds and the actual IUI procedures happened at the Piney Point location, which was much busier and less personal, but still was very nice. My husband and I were very lucky to be successful in getting pregnant on our first try with IUI! We then had about 4 appointments with Dr. Witz (he comes to Clear Lake on Tues and Th afternoons only, so be prepared to wait a little bit) as we watched our baby grow until 10 weeks. They also checked hormone levels and prescribed medications as needed to help our pregnancy to progress normally and safely. We would certainly refer any of our friends and family who are experiencing difficulties conceiving to HFI. They truly do their best to make this uncomfortable and trying time to be a good experience for their patients. Another benefit is the patient portal, emails, and text messages that they use to give you test results, prescription information, and instructions along each step of the way. Cant really explain how grateful my husband and I are of Dr.Witz. After years of trying and being prescribed all types of medication we began to loose hope and thought maybe its not meant for us to conceive. One of the nurses at my obg office told me about Dr.Witz and I drove to his office that day and made my appt. Wow finally found a Dr. that made me feel like their was hope I told him how long we have been trying and how bad we wanted for me to get pregnant and he said "it can happen" I trusted him very much and glad Dr.Witz had our best interest in mind he was willing to get straight to what needed to be done and no trying all types of medication and routes to see what would work and that's what we loved, we knew he was there to really help us. And, lets not leave out the nurses he has working for him! They are so sweet and helpful you actually are able to build a relationship with them were they make you feel so comfortable. Well he was able to help us get pregnant and sadly we miscarried, Dr.Witz would call to see how I was feeling and just making sure I didn't loose hope. I have never had any doctor that would call themselves instead of their nurses calling and that meant so much to us for him to show he cared. After 1 round of IVF I am now pregnant with twins!!!! We are beyond excited and knew this day would come soon with Dr.Witz's help. Never thought it would hurt to leave our Dr. but when Dr.Witz released us me and my Husband were so sad because its hard finding a doctor like him but what's for sure is we'll see him again and would recommend him to anybody. Dr. Witz is unquestionably one of the best doctors I've ever had--and I've had a lot of doctors! He is very skilled and incredibly knowledgeable and he and his staff care deeply about each and every patient that comes through their doors. Plus, they all have an amazing sense of humor! I was diagnosed with severe Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2006 and have been on several serious medications ever since. When my husband and I decided to try for our first baby, I had to go off of all my medications. My rheumatologist was very supportive, but we knew that we would only have a year to try before my progression became so severe that I had to get back on my meds. My husband and I tried on our own until this past August, when we discovered I wasn't ovulating at all. Realizing that we were quickly running out of time to have a baby, my OBGyn sent us to Dr. Witz at the Clear Lake office. He and his staff--Cecilia and Melissa--immediately made us feel welcome and safe. Dr. Witz took the time to go over my medical history with us in detail and counsel us on our options. After two months of unsuccessful Clomid therapy, with Dr. Witz's support, we moved on to IVF. Thanks to Dr. Witz's skill and counseling, our first cycle of IVF was successful, and we are now expecting our first baby! I can never think Dr. Witz and his staff enough for their care, consideration, encouragement and skill. Dr. Craig Witz is a consummate practitioner. He is everything a couple needs when they need it. I've scanned the reviews; the success stories are all here. My wife and I, in the end, managed to conceive with limited intervention (no IUI or IVF), but it took us a year and a half and a string of failed attempts. Where Dr. Witz shined for us is when the chips were down. On a spontaneous consultation visit, after we were informed by our OB that we were to have our 2nd miscarriage, we described the discomfort my wife was feeling to Dr. Witz (as we had to our other doctor). He said, "Well let's have a look." ...no muss, no fuss, and just the decisive action and concern we lacked from every doctor we had seen at that point. He, no one else, took the time to address our concerns; he caught a potentially life-threatening ectopic pregnancy. We were simply dismissed earlier that very day by the OB's office. From that time, he worked with us, patiently and methodically. His first instincts were to exhaust our natural options rather than break the bank on IUI/IVF (what they're in business for). He was comforting in failure and positively hilarious when better situations called for it. In March my husband and I had made the decision to finally take the necessary steps towards finding a fertility doctor that could help our dream of starting a family become a reality. I had done my online research and decided our first stop would be the Houston Fertility Institute with Dr. Witz at the Clear Lake office. Little did we know that it would also to be our last stop. It was immediately evident that Dr. Witz and the staff at the Clear Lake office genuinely cared about their patients and really would do what was in our best interest for our family. Our 5 months with this team have been an absolute pleasure. Dr. Witz, Cecelia, & Melissa made this journey so much more special for us! Knowing that you could walk into the office and each team member knows your case and where you are in the process and truly cares how you are feeling meant more than I can explain. There are words to express how grateful I am to Dr Witz and his Nurse Krista!! My husband and I were on a 6 year journey of Miscarriages and failed IUI /IVF, During our journey I had some really bad doctors. UNTIL I found Dr Witz! I would recommend him to Anyone and Everyone!!! He treated me with compassion, sympathy and most of all made me feel like a person and not another name on a folder. We had an overall great experience at HFI. Dr Witz is a very caring and knowledgeable doctor. I appreciated the personalized care I received as his patient, especially the times he called me himself to relay information or check on me. I was seen at many of the clinic locations, however despite the long drive for me, I will always choose the Clear Lake location. It is a small clinic, where the staff is wonderfully caring and always made me feel comfortable and welcome. I appreciated that I never felt like "just another patient" there. After a less than pleasant experience at another location, I requested to be seen by Dr. Witz only for the rest of my visits and was impressed with how easy they made that for me and took my request seriously. I am very happy to say that I am now 17 weeks pregnant and I have HFI to thank for that. After a year and a half, my husband and I went to see Dr. Witz at HFI. Dr. Witz is well knowledge in fertility challenges, but most of all caring to his patients. I appreciated the time he spent explaining treatments and procedures and made me feel comfortable. The staff was always a delight to see during appointments and very friendly and helpful on the phone. There were times that I could only make an early appointment and they would fit me in somehow. Great IVF journey!! I appreciate Dr. Craig Witz for his patience, compassion, kindness, professionalism, knowledge and great sense of humor! On top of that, he knows Spanish! Also, I have to thank his partner Dr. Jason Griffith for performing the embryo transfer. They made my dream come true! I reached pregnancy after my first IVF procedure. After my husband and I tried to get pregnant ourselves for a year, my obgyn put me on clomid. It didn't work. After a couple months my obgyn referred me to Houston Fertility Institute. I went to the Fondren location and was seen by Dr. Witz. He is so funny and I could just tell how brilliant he was, too! I always felt that he had my best interest at heart and I want to thank him and the staff for everything they did for me. After one round of IVF, I am pregant with a girl!! Frond desk lady was really "Bad" attitude ,she is really trick talking ,that's probably she's got trained or that how she is,but I really unhappy when I go there and I paid so much money from out of pocket and the Insurent ,still not get any result and never get back anything from them after they took all the Insurent money and my money.Iam not recommend anyone to this office. read more

Dr. Witz and his staff at the Webster location of Houston Fertility Institute were incredible! They diagnosed my infertility problem accurately and I was pregnant within 2 months of my first visit.
