They were very knowledgeable about my wrist pain and explained things as they went. The quality of care I received from all of the staff was amazing. It was a welcoming and fun environment. I highly recommend.

I have some strange anatomy which made the official diagnosis a bit difficult for my orthopedist. Without a complete diagnosis, I wanted a conservative approach so he referred me to a hand therapist at Providence. Well, I am lazy AF and didn't want to drive to PDX so I called Armworks instead. Melanie was inspiring from the get-go. She was able to help get the actual injury diagnosed and formulate a treatment plan. When it did not resolve the problem, Melanie was honest and said this needed to be treated surgically, but reassured me I was welcome back if I needed further help afterwards. My original orthopedist wanted to do major surgery which would require months of rehab. I took the time to do some research and seek out a second opinion (people, always ALWAYS get a second opinion, even if you like the first one!). I found a different doctor who agreed to the repair in a less-drastic manner, so I underwent that procedure in May of this year. My post-surgery care instructions were basically "don't rush it" and "see how you feel" with no mention of rehab. While the procedure went flawlessly, a few days after surgery I was feeling completely beleaguered and called Armworks again, thinking maybe Melanie could provide some advice on what I'm calling "managed healing." I was not optimistic since I was still in quite a bit of pain. Melanie has been such a calming presence, therapy is structured, prescribed exercises are very reasonable and have been so effective. She has a high emotional IQ so has provided support in that fashion as well. I'm still in rehab but I'm back to doing the things I was unable to do before - washing my hair, chopping food, opening cans. Pretty soon I will be back on the golf course. Melanie and my hand surgeon have given me my life back.

Most of the therapists were great to work with! However, their policies need a revamp! I was highly…read moredisappointed when my child fell off a treadmill during a therapeutic session. The PTA Megan was more worried about her clinical notes then checking on her patient and assessing potential injuries. She looked up maybe 3 times in the matter of minutes while my child was on the floor with me by her side. Luckily I was in session because apparently this is their protocol to allow the parent with no medical expertise to assess a patient. Seems outlandish to me! Called on my way to the ER to cancel further appointments and notify the clinic I was taking her for evaluation and would like a supervisor to call me. Well fast forward a month later and I am called by a supervisor to fire my daughter as a patient because I openly discussed the incident in the session immediately after the incident, I had one conversation with the front desk staff asking if someone was going to call me back because it had been 2 weeks, and I answered questions about the incident in an evaluation to assess for therapeutic services that were needed because of the injury sustained. I am now deemed "a disruptive parent who is to focused on the past incident to focus on the future of my child healing". Not only do I find this a highly unprofessional statement from the clinical officer Sarah, but also at the end of the phone call she refused to let me get a word in, kept talking over me, and was attacking me as a parent and person. They have now discontinued services for my daughter and threaten to do so for my step son as well. Regardless of the beautiful facility and all of the services offered through this clinic I would not recommend taking anyone here after the experience I have had with upper management and the lack of follow through after an incident within the clinic.

But nice isn't everything. Our first eval appointment went smoothly, and we were given a card for the next appointment. We showed up for our next appointment, only to discover that that the date written on the card was incorrect, and we drove 45 minutes for nothing. OK, no problem, mistakes happen. Next 2 appointments, everything went smoothly. Then, we showed for our next appointment only to discover that it was not at the location we had previously gone to (doors were locked, lights off). Buckle up a rowdy 4 year old, drive to the other location (late of course, he's 4, he has to run down the ramp over the grass, turn in circles 3 times, all the while wondering why we can't use the bathroom-it's locked at the 2nd location). We show up at the main location to find that 1) His therapist had been changed without telling us (he's shy, no therapy can happen until he's friends with the therapist because he won't talk, and really, you have to talk for speech therapy) 2) His appointment was canceled without telling us (they had called our home once and received no answer, nobody attempted my cell phone, which is my main contact number). Another 45 minute drive in one direction for no reason. 3 hours of driving done now for no reason. Their office has a $25 no show fee, the office manager told me they seldom enforce it, however I had to sign a form acknnowledging this fact. The lady at the desk said that I shouldn't worry, their therapists have to give 30 days notice to cancel an appointment (Um, we've had this appointment for 2 weeks or more) and if she had an opening, since there happened to be 3 speech therapists on site that day, she would squeeze us in, but since there weren't any openings, sorry!, there just wasn't anything she could do. On Monday, I called the office manager, who promised to get back to me either Monday afternoon or Tuesday. A week later, we are still waiting for the return call. I called them frustrated, to be told they were trying to work something out for our family, but at this point they have demonstrated their follow through is poor. We are finding a new therapist. The staff is nice, the therapists are nice and competent. All of these events happened in a one month time period. The business practice leaves something to be desired.
