Anyway, as for Fidelity in general, these nice people babysit a nice chunk of my net worth, and they seem to do a pretty good job of it. Plenty of low-fee funds. They don't ever try to steer me into anything stupid. Vanguard still might be my fave, but I'm pretty faithful to Fidelity (get it?). If you don't do that, they never respond to email. Morgan Stanley's e-sign program has more bugs than an old rotten log and is frankly impossible to use. I hired Dennis Healy to handle my tax filings and S-Corp election. Errors in the filing process…read moreresulted in IRS penalties and interest for 2021 and 2022. To correct the issue, I had to hire another professional to file appeals and work directly with the IRS. Dennis paid the invoice for that corrective work, which ultimately resulted in the IRS granting a one-time penalty abatement for 2021. However, when the IRS declined to waive the 2022 penalties (because a prior abatement had already been granted), Dennis refused to reimburse the second round of penalties and related costs. Resolving this matter has taken years of additional correspondence, expense, and stress. I would strongly recommend ensuring clear follow-through and accountability when working with any tax professional. it's still ongoing to this day and I'm stuck with disputing close to $5000 on penalties due to his negligence.
