Cheap renovations and tacky Target bargain furniture and light fixtures have stripped this place of its charm and history. All of the beautiful wood in the unit is painted white now and the hallways are a horrible and depressing dark grey. The furniture is cheap and over sized for the rooms. Room 619 had a bed so tall we had to ask to switch rooms. The front desk suggested they bring us a step ladder instead. Seriously?! We finally switched to 808 which had two regular sized beds that were a normal height and we didn't have to be watched as we went to the bathroom. Not sure why washrooms that face other units don't have window coverings! There are absolutely no amenities in the rooms. No fridge. An $8 plastic bottle of water. A Nespresso with coffee only. You have to ask for tea if you want it. Toiletries in the bathroom need revisiting. They're the same ones from 2010 from L'Occitane; tired, dated and horribly scented. More hotels have switched to more sustainable and options but here, you will still get a shoe mitt and shower cap. One bonus was two robes in each room. There is a small gym but no access to a pool. You can pay $12 next door. Apparently yoga is included, but no one told us about that upon check in for our weeklong stay. The wifi didn't work after the first night and staff weren't overly helpful about it. At $252 a night, this is not what we were expecting. Had we known how downhill this place has gone, we'd have opted for the Holiday Inn. Parking is $22 a night and the front entrance is permanently occupied by crowds of smokers. It's absolutely disgusting. This place is for sale so we really hope that the new buyer will help bring this beauty back from the depths of sadness.

We had an issue with our party venue and almost couldn't get into it because the weekend manager died and the Pantages staff was ready to rally together and throw us a reception. Why hotels continue to punish those who use hotels/expedia to book rooms is beyond me. FYI - ask for the room that faces the parking structure. Lousy view but you don't get the view of the Airport. You think that these airplane guys got the memo that idling is not a good practice. Crap...! If they ticket car idling, I'd hate to see what the fine would be for idling a PLANE! For those of you who want to educate me on the reasons why planes are left on - please don't. The rooms here need a refresher. The shower isn't bad - I noticed that most Sheraton brands know that a good shower is appreciated. Internet speeds are good and a breakfast voucher for their gateway breakfast was offered. Walk down the long uncovered area, then turn R, walk to the side of the covered lot, then turn L and walk down another path. Parking is available in the covered lot out back. Why there are snow drifts all over the INSIDE, I can't imagine. Crazy weather. The front foyer has some couches and tables. Staff are friendly. There is also a small snack bar (chips, pop etc) and boy are they overpriced. $4 for a bottle of juice? Thank you business expense account. You don't really have a choice though, as the next nearest vending machines are back at the terminal, and aren't much cheaper. As for the rooms? They're definitely dated. My room was clean, but it looks like they did a partial renovation and forgot to complete it. There was this large dead-end area in my room where I think there was a desk at some point. See pics. If you don't have a way off the airport, this is pretty much your only choice. Thank goodness the hotel is half-decent.
