I've had/have a checking account, savings account, mortgage, line of credit, credit card and an IRA through Monona State Bank. They are so versatile and cater to my every need. They make every process seamless (especially with on line banking) and most importantly, they keep me up-to-date every step of the way. My personal banker, Lisa, is always there when I need her and goes out of her way to make sure she has picked up any balls that I have dropped (and I drop my fair share!). She's also the first to say hi when I walk in the door, and makes me feel welcomed! It's nice to have the 'small town' feel, where everyone knows you when you walk in and welcomes you to the family. My mortgage lender, Micha, is the best! She helps me focus on the bigger picture and keeps my best interests in mind when researching payment options, re-financing, escrow, etc. She's extremely knowledgeable and is ahead of the game; I trust every piece of advice she gives. Micha came with me to the closing when I bought my first home - I was nervous and scared out of my mind and didn't know what any of the papers meant but Micha stepped me through them one by one and explained everything until I understood and felt comfortable with everything. I owe many thanks to Micha for helping me through that process. I met with a business loan officer, Ted, a few times to talk about business opportunities and what the markets are like - Ted was very professional and knowledgeable. He was able to bring things to my attention that I would have never thought of, and was able to lay out a plan of the next steps to take. I realized I was out of checks from my "at-the-time current" bank (which has no locations in Wisconsin or any of the neighboring states), but needed an earnest earnest money check within 7 hours. Furthermore, my old debit card had been deactivated during two days before due to possible fraud (Everything was fine though, in case you may care to know. I didn't get robbed haha.) Roxanne helped me work with my other bank to get my debit account reactivated, take a cash advance from my old bank's card, head over to Ken, and open a BMO account with the money. I answered that, then she proceeded to ask my address which I answered. Then she asked what the date of my last login to the account- to which I answered I would have no clue?! She said she could not authorize my account. Who in the world knows that type of information on an account that I barely use? She then gets her manager on the phone who goes through the exact same questions and I tell her the same things, to which she says rudely, "Well I can answer when I last logged in to my account". She said it like weirdly condescending- was strange. I said that's about the most obscure question to verify an account. Then she literally hung up on me. Super terrible customer service- glad I closed my account. Customer service matters and maybe rethink your verification questions?! Even a simple SSN question would be easier to answer. Bank elsewhere if you don't want to deal with rude customer service individuals.
