If you don't want xrays they refuse to complete a cleaning. Very disappointing. I will have to find another dentist.

Dr Kincaid let his WIFE perform a pulpectomy on me. She was not skilled or licensed nor able to perform the service correctly.. SHE IS NOT A DENTIST!! I was there 3 hours and only saw Dr Kincaid when he gave me the numbing shots and that took 11 different injections to get it numb. The office and their attorney would not compensate me. Because of the work she tried to do, she caused an abscess and an infection. I had to seek out an emergency dentist to have teeth pulled because they couldn't save the teeth due to the damage that Ms Claudia Kincaid caused. I asked her repeatedly if she was a dentist and she said yes. because of the missing teeth, I had to go from a partial to a denture. All because of the damage she caused and the infection with the abscess. They never, they meaning Dr Kincaid, Claudia, Kincaid, and their attorney, took responsibility for their actions. They strung me along for months when I was trying to settle, so I wouldn't have to sue them and then they just quit contacting me. I didn't report them to the Kansas dental board and/or the police. I should've done this at the time, but I didn't want to put their office out of business. It's not too late and I'm doing this now. So to Associates in Dentistry, i've waited all this time for you to acknowledge your responsibility. I'm calling the Kansas Dental board TODAY as well as the police to report your misconduct. written you many times and sent you emails and since you don't respond, this is my only choice. Also, at the time, Claudia Kincaid owned Associates in Dentistry so this report will include the business as a whole as well as the Dr. Kincaid and Ms. Claudia Kincaid. This time, I have an attorney. So the bottom line is, I would never, ever recommend this dental office. read more

Dr. Charles Kincaid is thorough, meticulous, courteous and experienced. I've been his patient for over 30 years, and his father, Paul Kincaid's before that. He never pressures for unnecessary or premature procedures. The office staff is pleasant and accommodating. The office is comfortable and welcoming. I'm satisfied with the excellent care. read more

OUTRAGEOUSLY INEFFICIENT AND LIARS TO BOOT. Told booking agent that I needed an expedited appt. because of treatment for prostate cancer, so that a chemo regimen could be started. They list themselves as accepting coverage from my insurance company. THEY DO NOT. Waited until day before appt to cancel, reason being that they DON'T accept my insurance. Wouldn't suggest a local competitor either, but one 35 miles away. DO NOT believe a word that they say. LIARS and small corporate con artists--especially if your life depends on them. For the past almost 30 years I've been coming to Associates in Dentistry to see the same two professionals: Jane, my dental hygienist, and Charlie (the owner) when the big drill needs to come out! Hey, they're five cavities... er... five stars all the way. I place my total trust without hesitation in the services provided. Look, I've lived temporarily in a few other places around the country during that time period and each time I was left wishing they would have followed me wherever I was moving. No b.s. here. They aren't going to try to hard sell dental caps or implants like the place in Texas that almost held me at gunpoint. They aren't going to remove old fillings that are working just fine. Need to reschedule? No problem, no hassle. Service at the front desk is always spot on and even the few times someone else has worked on me I've always been pleased with the service. I think all of this finds its base in Charlie's father, the original owner of the business. Now you're talking old school dentistry. While others have fled for the burbs and the sculpted lawns along Wakarusa Street, AOD has remained in an old remodeled bungalow just off of 23rd and Barker for decades. You actually enjoy going to see your dentist or to get your teeth cleaned? If not, maybe you're going to the wrong dentist. I really enjoy seeing these folks. Quick, precise, and a well oiled machine. Associates in Dentistry is, overall, an above average dentist office. Their oral work is great, and they stand behind it. Their staff is ultra-helpful, and will always squeeze you in the schedule in a pinch. It's the only dentist office I've used in Lawrence, but hardly anything to complain about. read more

I have been a patient with Dr. Charles Kincaid for over 20 years. I was always pleased with service. But the past few years have been uncomfortable. So many changes in staff, no reflection on Dr. Kincaid. Its the poor way the office is now run. watch your billing statements. If Dr. Kincaid is contracted with your insurance company, he has agreed to accept the Insurance Company's maximum allowable. When I checked my billing, I found this was being ignored and I was being billed the full amount of charges for that service. Even when the Insurance said my responsibility was zero, I still was charged the full amount. My last visit, the assistant was rough with me during the procedure and I was attacked by the assistant and the dentist's wife about my bill. note: I send in payments every month. I also discovered the charges are higher than any dentist in town. One day they called me in early for an appointment, and was made to wait over 3 hours then told I missed my appointment and had to reschedule. All the while I was waiting to be called in from my car in the parking lot. I will be using a different Dentist from this point going forward. I have notified the office of my decision not to make another payment unless they go back and correct my billing ledger. read more

I checked the prices here before making an appointment and they seemed reasonable until I actually had the work done. A cleaning and x-rays, quoted at $140, turned out to be over $185. Having no insurance, I next asked how much the procedures to extract a tooth and do a filling would cost when I made my next appointment. I was told $200 to $350, but when I went to pay the bill it was over $460! They are friendly and do good work, but they should be more forthright about their pricing, particularly with those without the luxury of dental insurance. I paid over $650 out-of-pocket on my first two visits alone and have a gap in my teeth that is sure to cost me thousands. I think I can live with the gap! I walked in yesterday with an abscess, my jaw and lips were so swollen that you can clearly see that something was wrong. The receptionist turned me away to say that they did not have any appointments until Thursday. I've been coming there for years. Obviously from how swollen my face was. this was an emergency and even though there might have not been any appointments available she could have least brought a dentist up to see me to at least provide me with a prescription for antibiotics. The customer service was terrible. There was no human compassion AT ALL. Needless to say I've found a new dentist and will never go back there again. read more

This is by far the worst dental office I have ever been to. It's old and really dirty. It even smelled old. I saw that there were dust bunnies all along the floor in the waiting room. If they can't keep their waiting room clean, what do you think is going on that the patients don't know about?? When I was waiting in the waiting room, I saw that a cat escaped from a door in the office and ran around. The assistant or whoever caught it and put it back through the door, but I didn't see them wash their hands as they went back to assist the patient!!! When I went in with my friend to get her teeth cleaned, I noticed that the instrument packaging looked reused. It had some sort of tape at the top to seal it and it was an off colored white. Gross!!!! I would not recommend going to this office! It seemed super sketchy!!! read more
