I was trying to help my elderly mother get a new set of dentures. I was VERY clear with the person on the phone that she would be paying in cash and I needed to know the exact amount. I was promised upper and lower dentures for $2500. After taking her to Aspen, I was told that it would actually be $4000. It was only then that I read the reviews. Whew, near miss. The location is Lawrence Kansas is worst from the actual dental services down to the poor customer service. I had an appointment scheduled 6 months in advance which was cancelled without notification. They say there's a policy, although after asking for it writing from the location itself and corporate, they would not provide me that appointments needs a verbal confirmation. They called while I was working. I can't answer phone but I received and email reminder telling there was an appointment scheduled. Nothing about cancelling it though. I haven't been happy with them any way because they don't even do a good job. And this same place almost killed my dad a few years and he almost bled out in the building. They over charged me 1300, refused to send my dental insurance the things they needed to PROVE I was over charged, and the fillings have since fallen out. I am just getting a lot of work started. BUT, Aspen has been nothing but kind, UNDERSTANDING, & professional. The technician that just did my gum & teeth treatment was kind, patience & EFFICIENT. I really wish I had read the reviews before going here. That was my first mistake. I recently broke a molar and as a teacher it's really hard to find a place that fits my schedule. I think that desperation led me to Aspen dental. My main gripe of this place is that I had a crown done there and the temporary crown fell off within three hours of placement so I was walking around with a nub for like a week and when I went back in to get the permanent crown placed, I had just come from work and I had just eaten and the dentist refused to clean the tooth. I had brought along with me some claim denial forms that I had just recently received and was asking some questions and she seemed visibly annoyed. She(Susan Hall) just wanted to shut me up. I asked her about the bacteria and the food on the tooth. She said "we all have bacteria in our body" and popped that permanent crown right over a dirty tooth, covered in food. I was so horrified and shocked. I have reported Susan Hall and Aspen dental to the Kansas dentistry board because in addition to this, they are not providing my insurance with information about why they did a full periodontal disease cleaning in one day (which they charged me for by the way, and are trying to get my insurance to pay for) so I also reported them for insurance fraud. Every time I went back in to try to ask them to explain things to me, they acted like I should just understand dental codes and they were so visibly annoyed. I'm talking about the pissiest little faces you've ever seen. I was really nice to them and they're really gonna regret trying to fuck me over. They're so nice the first day while they're getting all of your money and scaring you about all the dental work you need to have done. They gave me this flosser and electric toothbrush and then I found out later that they charged me $199 for it, corporate said they would refund it. These people are scammers for sure. I mean just look at the rest of the reviews. I'm glad I grew up in Los Angeles and I know how to advocate for myself. I will get my money back for the crown since it obviously has to be redone somewhere else. Had a cap put on. It was to high and I had them grind it down at that time and they said it was good after they checked it. Wasn't touching. A couple days later I was in extreme pain and couldn't handle hot or cold. Couldn't chew on that side. My experience with Wellsville family dentist was that of only professionals who took their time to explain everything exactly to the letter of what they would be doing for me. I would have to think that possibly some of these reviews were written by people from a rival dentist I am huge on service and quality of experience. I was told the dentist who did my crowns in 2021 was "fired due to his work" at my last appointment. I was offered a refund after much back and forth, because the crowns I was left with were done incorrectly and failing. I have now been ghosted by Aspen, nobody will answer the phone or respond to emails. I rescheduled dentists for a while before coming here. Then I had some dental emergencies and had to choose a place.. I couldn't get into any dentists near me for months!! So I came to Aspen Dental. The first appointment ever, they had been hacked and I had to pay out of pocket, still haven't received any info on that; when I ask I get looked at like I'm crazy. Been back 4 times since April and I wish I never would of came here. The lady at the front desk is extremely rude, the dentist never know what's going on. Most of the time they think I'm a new patient or then turn around and say they haven't seen me in over a year..? Confusing right. I am at a loose with trusting any dentist to touch my mouth. This is absolutely the worst dental clinic I have ever been to. I have been trying to get one set of teeth to work to no avail. I have 2 1/2 sets and they told me it was my fault. I have had to sit there and wait for an hour and a half in the waiting room before being seen. I have seen every dentist and tech they have in there. They even had people from other clinics help them out. And if you're there long enough you'll see almost everyone in the place leave and be replaced. So, what does that tell you? Even the employees don't want to be there!! In April of this year 2024 it'll be 4 years that I have been trying to work with them. I paid extra above what my insurance paid and I still don't have what they so called "guarantee" they would do. I use to think this place was alright but after four years of Denture problems and finally being able to try for resolution (I've been there 2 times since July for adjustments to my bottom teeth) we found out my warranty is good but we owe them a mystery 146 dollars "that went to collections but we can pay them right now( not the collections they sent it to?) We used the credit company they recommended which is the most predatory loan you can imagine. Don't owe the credit company. We called them they paid off my remaining balance 4 years ago. They can't itemize the charges either. I've gotten this from every other medical charges I've had itemize BUT they couldn't tell me what or why i owed this. I have been here for two hours and still here....waiting to see the doctor. This place has state of the art equipment but so far not state of the art stuff employees! In the lobby I could here reception making a follow up phone call to a patient and the patient was on speaker. Everyone in the reception area could here the entire conversation!!!! X-ray technician took forever. Had to Redo several steps. As I sat and waited and waited I could overhear another employee do intake with another patient and it seemed she had to ask the patient the same questions over and over. She did not use medical/dental terms ( when did your wisdom teeth bust through!) and then began talking about her belief in going to church !!!! OMG good thing she wasn't talking to me! She carried on more inappropriate conversation with another employee.... Who the heck is monitoring the employees? Oh wait ...no one. Probably won't be back here! These people are HORRIBLE. I went in to have major dental work done, I haven't been able to eat solid food in a year. They refuse to give my money back even after my insurance said they have to. They are making it impossible for me to go to another dentist by not giving my new dentist my x rays and records. I can't afford to get my teeth fixed elsewhere without my refund. Don't take my word for it, they lost a class action lawsuit in 2012 and we're featured in a PBS documentary called Dollars and Dentists. I have been protesting outside their office and have gather 5 names and numbers of people with similar stories. They are systematically taking advantage of the poor and the elderly. read more

This place is 1 hr away from me but came highly recommend because the dentist here do good work. I had my consultation but didn't get any financial detail that day because the person who handles this wasn't there. Mara called me to tell me the price of procedure I jotted it down assuming they would send me a detailed report (that's what I was told) I never received the detailed cost breakdown. I've been chasing Mara down since for 4 days. I've been placed on hold for over 30 mins. I'm pretty sure they went to lunch and forgot I was holding. I called back after lunch and just kept getting sent to VM - no answer. I called the following day and someone said they sent Mara and email asking her to call me. She never called. I called again yesterday and the receptionist said Mara was busy and would call me back and confirmed my call back number in that moment. Mara never called me. I called again today and once again she was "in a meeting" but was told by the receptionist Michelle that Mara called me and left a VM but she called the wrong number. I have cancelled my appointment and really there is no point in her calling me back anymore. It's unfortunate that due to poor communication from administrative employees that I will no longer book here. Had things gone smoother they would have had a client for life as well as a recommendation to everyone I know. I wonder if the Drs know they are losing business? While I was in town visiting a friend of mine my tooth broke and I found this office and they took me right in with no hassle. I was greeted by a lovely front desk staff and not too much longer I was taken back to a room and met Dr. Marina. Dr. Marina was very polite, kind, and knowledgeable. He helped me out so much and was able to fix my broken tooth same day! I could not be more grateful for what this office has done for me in a last minute situation. If there was a way to give no stars for this company, I would. I dealt with these people since May 2022. While the staff were friendly enough, I was not per the treatment provided and their ineptness was evident. I had all lower teeth pulled and temp plates made that are so big that they fall out of my mouth, I had to take several impressions and when they made the final set, they again were to big and I was told everyone's mouth is different, and there was nothing else they could do on the fit. Let's also mention the fact that when Dr. Appleman extracted my teeth, he did not clean the debris up which caused a painful 3 month circuit of anti-biotics, a visit to an oral surgeon who had to cut my gums open again to clean it out and send samples to the lab, which concluded it was bone and flesh matter not cleaned up. And let's talk about the wait time, and the fact they don't stay with one person at a time and are back and forth between patients and often forget you are even there. Just this week, i went back to the office, turned in my final dentures per they are no good for me, and asked for my moneyback guarantee. I feel they should also refund the extraction cost to offset the cost i had to payout to fix what they caused to begin with. Never going back here! Run away people! far far away! read more

STAY FAR AWAY! This is not a dental office, this is A FACTORY. You will be treated by several people in an assembly line. the girls are all nice except front desk that girl doesn't listen and you have to repeat yourself several times. NO APOLOGY. Office Manager has changed twice since starting treatment, first one was mean, new one, nothing nice to say about him. There are two dentists. One of them is good, kind and gentle. The other is the owner, His treatment is rough and painful. I refuse to have him. I'm sure there is a reason he can no longer practice in Nevada. There are hidden costs in your "denture package" so make sure to read it through and check things off as you get them. I regret making the decision to go here. Please go anywhere else.. I have been through the ringer with Aspen Dental. While I am satisfied by the result of my procedure with Dr. Appelman, the majority of the staff and their processes have failed in ways I cannot fathom. On my first appointment, I learned that an exam does not include a cleaning and I had to schedule another appointment for that. At my exam, I received X-rays so painful I was brought to tears. That has never happened to me before and I had no idea that could happen. My cleaning went well and I scheduled my cosmetic crown. The dentist I saw was a substitute from another clinic as Dr. Appelman was out of town. I would have rescheduled had I known ahead of time. I left thoroughly upset with her bedside manner and how she grabbed at my face to move me instead of using her words. She also did not follow my treatment plan and was unaware of the reason I had scheduled the appointment. I was told I needed to make another appointment. I felt scammed out of my time and money. Dr. Appelman talked to me about my concerns, apologized and said he would make sure he was the one to complete my crown. I was grossly misquoted the price of my cosmetic crown after receiving a temporary tooth which made me feel forced into going through with it. I ended up talking to a financial representative and due to my displeasure with the service I had received and the inaccurate price estimate, he offered a discount. Unfortunately, he did not enter that discount into the system and so I have been in and out of the office for 3-4 months after receiving bills saying I owed more despite me paying in full. The office staff were out of the loop as my discount was not relayed to them although I brought the original paperwork provided with my financial plan outline with the discount. After being reassured numerous times they had taken care of it, I received more bills and had to go in and talk to them again. Now, six months after my treatment, I have gotten two phone calls asking for me to update my insurance as it expired May 31st. They said it was needed for my claim. So, I called back three times within the past 3 days and finally reached the staff member who had requested the information which she had stated in her voicemail was time sensitive. After giving her the information that she was looking for, she called again two hours later with zero memory of our conversation. I think there is a desperate need for better notes in the office on patient interactions and organization of payments and treatment plans. While I love my tooth, I would have rather a different place in town that would have better value for my time. read more

I had an impacted tooth that was very painful and couldn't eat or sleep. Called Aspen Dental in Lawrence KS and was told that they would give me an appointment for 4:30 for workup. After the workup and meeting with the hygienist and do a complete exam then I could talk to them about my impacted tooth and schedule a point sometime in the future. I ask if we could get something done today and she said no since my appointment was so late in the afternoon. Called her another dentist and they got me in sameday. read more

OKAY so let me get started... First off thank you to the health care workers who are working during this time of crisis BUT you do not need to discredit my son because of his age (20). They did not explain what they were gonna do (he needs teeth pulled bad), they did not take him serious about the amount of pain he was in saying oh you have to wait another week even though you can't work, sleep or eat because of the pain.
