The premises are small and simply decorated with two treatment rooms. I was excited to see a beautician's withing walking distance of my flat so went along for some waxing. I had the complete attention of the beautician but I have to say that I wasn't very impressed with the wax- they left areas still covered in hair and didn't treat my skin to prevent rashes or ingrowing hair. It was all very rushed and painful- no effort to soothe the pain. It is certainly convenient for locals and perhaps the other treatments are better but I won't be returning for a wax!

I've been rubbish at doing any exercise, but have been eating very healthily. I thought i wouldn't see any results but i definitely have... of course now i just wish i'd kept up with my jogging too! I love that it is a 5 minute walk from home and the very personal service i get too. I read the review above, i've had my legs waxed too and it wasn't painful (well no more than i should be!) and was definitely had wax removal & aftercare. Wherever i've been there has always been a bit of wax remaining, including in the really expensive places in town, so maybe that person just had an off day. I would hate to think someone wouldn't go because of the above review.

Shortly thereafter, my fears were realized. Claire, although personable, appears to be very inexperienced. Not enough pressure with the fingers, tentative and overly light massage of face, along with no hot cloths to remove product. Low lighting with no illuminated magnifying glass made it impossible for her to see my skin. Left dissatisfied, but paid. After shopping and then walking home, I was horrified to find small exfoliant granules along with patches of sunscreen which hadn't been rubbed in properly on my forehead, the sides of face and under my chin area. Obviously due to the poor lighting even Claire couldn't see what was not being removed by the wet pads she used (small cotton rounds?). I called immediately and expressed my displeasure and was told by Claire, "I'm sorry all I can offer are my apologies." It's not acceptable to pay 59 pounds and receive a facial from someone with such little experience and competence. I was promised the owner/manager would call me later that afternoon to discuss the issue, but of course no call was returned. This was sold to me as a facial, but this is not a proper facial. Be warned. I have had facials regularly for over 20 years and this facial is of the lowest quality I have ever received. I chose this establishment due to the stellar reviews elsewhere, so either I didn't get the appropriate professional for the job, or these reviews are from family and friends.

I was allowed to have any length I wanted for the one price. It didn't go up or down for length, and she was honest in telling me the difference would be pennies for her since she buys from a wholesaler. Since when do they admit that?! The method doesn't damage the hair in the slightest and is still quite a rare way to come across. Unlike the micro rings, the LA links are tiny and the clamps will last 3 months, the Russian hair (re-usable) for 9 months. Louisa was genuinely concerned about giving me the best service possible and if I have any problems I should ring her straight away where she will correct it. Aftercare is a guarantee she is only a phonecall away, which has made me feel very secure. My hair looks amazing, the girls were like little sonics - so quick but that didn't AT ALL compromise the quality. I felt so pampered. To my delight Louisa also threw in free lash extensions which has put the cherry on top - I LOVE. I'm a totally new Brix. :D She also specialises in the famous Easilocks, but to be fair I think the Russian hair is just as good and is applied using the same method. Although she is trained in every method but she is passionate about using non-damaging ways and cares about her clients. Kudos to her for putting an add in the Argos giving free extensions and hair treatments for people that had lost their hair through chemo. Other treatments available are - cuts and colours, - spray tans, - teething whitening at £50 on promotion in aid of the shop opening - luxury nails - waxing - botox and fillers - facials and massages AND many more The treatments are of the highest quality, delivered to you by salt of the earth, lovely people. The décor is plush but understated, in shades of cream and deep plum, with the furniture in the treatment rooms in dark wood. The waiting area has a comfortable sofa with those expensive coffee table travel books for you to browse while you wait, which adds to the sensation of luxury. My massage was OK, to be honest I would have preferred a slightly stronger pressure, and its quality was really put into context by an excellent massage that I had elsewhere recently. It's not especially cheap (£45 for an hour's full body massage), but then, not that many places are. It's clear however that at Body and Soul you do pay for the atmosphere of the place, as well as the treatment.
