The sermons are engaging and often contain many elements of humor, but at the same time are very scripturally-grounded and motivate spiritual growth. The live band consists of very talented musicians and does a fantastic job at providing an environment of worship. Disclaimer: if you're looking for a church that just sings Hymns and is more "traditional" in worship style, this may not be the Church for you, and that's OK! I personally prefer having a band and singing songs in more "modern" language that I can better relate to in worshipping God, but I certainly recognize there are people who prefer it differently. One of the best parts of this church is the fantastic kids' program called "StoneBridge Hollow." Available at all service times, it allows for parents to securely check in their children and take them to a class that will provide age-appropriate (and fun!) learning resources while parents can attend the service. Some parents still choose to take their children to the services with them, and they are more than welcome to do so. But for those that want to utilize the kids' program, it is a fantastic way for your children to learn and grow in a safe environment. (All volunteers in SB Hollow are background-checked.) In my opinion, this is a church for all different kinds of people: for those who have been Christ-followers for a long time, for those who haven't been to Church in a long time, for those who maybe have never stepped foot in church, and probably just about any other situation. People here will welcome you, no matter your background. I'd encourage you to check it out, and if it doesn't seem like a good match, there are a lot of other great churches in the Omaha area so hopefully you will find one that is a match for you!

We moved out here about a year ago and at the time I was seeking an Awana group for my children. I…read morehad a child in the cubbies awana class and they ask that you stay on the premises while your child is in class. They told me about the Bible studies that were offered during that time and escorted me to the women's group. This group of ladies were so welcoming and just what I needed to not feel so isolated after uprooting our lives to move from another state. After a few months we finally decided to attend a service. Pastor Steve won us over. With an honest truthful sermon on revelation and an approach to speaking it was neither intimidating or boring. Steve and the staff at Calvary have continued to show their well rooted in true biblical teachings. The children's ministry has proven this as well and our children beg to go to Sunday school and their awana program. I'm glad we found a well rooted, well rounded church home and have had the opportunity to make meaningful connections. The only thing I will say is their approach to "explore membership class" is a bit odd. They promote it as a class when it's more of an informational meeting. They then encourage you to attend their growth track program which is 4 weeks and very much geared towards new believers. I think they should separate the 2. I have shared this feedback and they seem to have kept it the same.

They preach the Gospel passionately and have tons of opportunities to get plugged into the community. If you live in Lincoln and you don't have a church home, I would highly recommend checking out this church! They have lively worship with new renditions of hymns and have written some of their own music as well. They encourage biblical teaching and a lot of people bring their own bibles to church and actually open them which matters a lot to me. I think they've also seen a ridiculous amount of college students get baptized since the church started just a few years ago. This church loves the bible, loves the Gospel of Jesus and people experience life change here. So if you haven't been and you're curious about Jesus or looking for a church home, this is a wonderful church to do that at!
