I get that people/churches have off days, make mistakes...And, reviewers are certainly entitled to their opinions about their experiences; However, please consider the caliber of some comments when reading. Certain people like to complain for the sake of complaining. For example: One commented about the amount of traffic outside the church but apparently doesn't attend. Really? Bad mouth a church online you don't attend because there were too many cars? Call the church. I am sure they will consider your complaint and explain their efforts. The last time I was there, they had officers and volunteers on the scene directing the masses. I cannot imagine they have abandoned their responsibilities since I left. Another was scriptural issues. If you have biblical questions about sermons, classes or philosophy, email the pastor himself. Don't take someone's word salad opinion from the reviews, especially when the person acknowledges one verse, but leaves out ten that also apply to their argument. Complaint about the pastor's take on BREAST FEEDING, lol!! As a strong supporter of breastfeeding, I would love to know what he said about breastfeeding being "awkward". Did he speak against breastfeeding being "awkward" because so many use it today as a green light today to be indecent behind the martyr excuse of "feeding my baby". If he did, someone high five that man. I kid but come on. Lastly, no one made me feel welcome. Are you sure they were having church that day? GREETERS ARE SO WELCOMING THEY CAN BE OBNOXIOUS AT TIMES IN A GOOD WAY. Lol, greeters are like roaches...everywhere spreading kindness at ELEVEN22. Many are volunteers who sacrifice their time with family so others can worship. If one failed to greet a person, maybe they arrived at 6:00 AM to set up and are exhausted by the time church has started...Or, maybe they were making coffee for those coming. I am sure there were many who did speak to others. That said, again, people are entitled to their opinions, but please use discernment when reading. No individual is perfect and every one of us needs Jesus. Speaking NECESSARY truth about a church/ministers definitely has its place, but recklessly bad mouthing God's house that may influence others not to attend based on a critical spirit, is dangerous IMO. Go to the source if you have questions. I know that I may sound a bit salty, but I am at my limit with people carelessly tearing ministers/volunteers down that try to serve Christ while they do absolutely nothing but throw tomatoes and criticize online. That said, if you are reading, give this church a try. If it's not for you, thankfully there are more. If you don't like church, then you can still give Jesus a try. Call the church. Someone will pray with you.

I have been to a couple of…read moreother churches in the area, but have not felt comfortable or at home .the very first time I went to Kernan Boulevard Baptist Church, I was immediately welcomed with my family in the parking lot by one of the friendliest people I have ever met. she was very helpful in directing us where to go and walked with us into the church. She was genuinely interested in my family, and was just such a happy and smiling individual that the edge I initially felt dissipated. After the service (which, may I add, was blessed by the Holy Spirit and taught from the Word of God), I got a chance to meet the pastor, bill. Bill was very interested in my family as well, and not pushy in trying to get me to become a member. That is when I learned that the lady in the parking lot was the pastor's wife. I have cautiously been back to this church numerous times since, apprehensive as to how I would feel each subsequent visit. The apprehension was unnecessary, since every Sunday service I encountered the same presence of the Holy Spirit and teaching from the Word of God . these are the main things that I have looked for, but have not been able to find on the level that I have desired. I am considering being a member of this church now. my children are actively involved, and we are experiencing worship on an entirely new level!

The children's wing is amazing and the security team makes sure the kids are safe. Worship music is energetic and fun. Pastors are personable and share scripture, then teach on it in a way that's impactful for my life. Very relatable. I love the life groups, too. Excellent place to get closer to Jesus. They even have a playground for kids and some pickleball courts to build community and fitness.

The people were very welcoming! After the service, we were invited to go to the "explore" room where we met with some of the staff and watched a short video about the church and their beliefs. There are 3 services on Sunday, but the best one to go to is the second one at 10:30am. It's not too early and it's the most packed. The priest at that mass is the quiet friendly guy and he always calls the children up to the front to preach to them. It's pretty cute. They have a great band with talented singers and a dude playing the Puerto Rican/Dominican guitar called the cuatro. If I wake up too late, I end up at the 12noon mass and the priests that mass varies, but they don't usually have that gentle personality like the 10:30am priest. The band is also smaller with just 2 singers and a guitarist lady. (Don't ask me about the early mass. I am never up that early! Haha) If the music and priest are good, then I'm more likely to stay awake, and more likely to remember the sermon. If you are Catholic, this is one of my fave Catholic churches. It's not too big and not too small. They also offer a private school and a hall you can rent for events.

You will see every shape size and color of the rainbow sitting at mass which is kind of nice in the city like Jacksonville. They offer a mass in Spanish I believe on Saturdays as well. There are lots of groups and clubs and the like including a youth group that has quite a few teams in it and men's and women's study groups. The congregation is uniformly pleasant and kind and there is an attached retirement home and a gradeschool like it was from pre-K through eighth grade. It is a newer church it has interesting Stainglass and some nice would work but it doesn't have the feel that the old churches do.
