I opted for a fixed plan with no monthly fee and monthly autopayment from my credit card. no mess no fuss. i receive a bill each month and don't need to do anything else since i'm on autopay. their bills are easy to understand. they have my rate X kw usage + 3.05 centerpoint advanced metering fee (which they told me was a charge that centerpoint is charging everyone for the new meters they are putting in)... that X the city tax and gross receipts and PUCA (both of which are government related) and you have your total... no hidden TDSP passthru charges or any other ridiculous fees other companies have charged me. Instead I parked in the tiny parking lot, most spots blocked off for the gittin your nails did studio next door in the strip mall, and walked into a space devoid of customer experience. I approached the one woman working the entire store by herself and asked if this is where UPS packages go because this was either that, or the jerk store. She just points at the back to a box, which is what UPS told this beautiful bitch NOT to do in written instructions. I ask if I get a receipt or anything as proof I put this package where I was supposed to according to her instructions in this "authorized" store based on UPS website, in case some kind of scofflaw or other criminal were to stuff the package down their underoos and abscond with it into the night. There had been a power outage which had shut my system down. Jim was able to walk my wife through the steps to reset, which took multiple calls. He agreed to come out that afternoon if need be. Jim had previously worked on my system a few years ago, replacing a control panel that another contractor had improperly installed.
