I saw "Snowpiercer" there, an international movie that has mostly English and occasionally Korean dialogue. They advertised this as a "Screening in English" and that it was the original version (OV). After some early title sequences written in German rather than English, there was indeed no German subtitles on the English dialogue. Alright, whatever. BUT, they didn't show *any* subtitles for the Korean dialogue in the film! What were the characters saying? I had to look online when I got home! If this were indeed the "original version" -- actually the international version since the original has Korean subtitles on the English dialogue -- then there'd be English text at the beginning and English subtitles during the Korean dialogue. When I spoke to an employee about this afterwards, they said that this was indeed the original version and that it's not their fault. Uhh, okay, original version or not, you're not showing the film properly. I pointed out that it was shown neither for a German-speaking audience nor an English-speaking audience, that what they showed actually comprised all three languages. They didn't care and didn't give any refund or discount. It's not that I care about the remaining 5 people who will see "Snowpiercer" (hey I thought it was pretty good), it's that this cinema simply doesn't give a shit that they're doing something so wrong that virtually *nobody* can follow the damn movie. Also, the place is messy as hell. The owner should pay for some more employees to clean up the place, and he also shouldn't hide behind the poor worker at the box office when customers are complaining about his failure to show a movie properly. Go see OmU movies at the Harmonie kino instead. They won't screw you.

(another fail) They don't let you buy tickets online so you have to buy it from the one and only cashier. Which means, there is a line on the side walk that will take you 10-15 minutes... The theater itself is ok, just ok... unless there is something that shows only there i would probably never come again... I love small theaters, but I have my limits too...

I found this place quite cozy yet casual for date night, friends meet-up or just hang out for movie…read morenight. Theater seems to show an independent film. Bartender was quite energetic and friendly. Menu is small but food was pretty good. Full bar in the theater. What else can go wrong? :) Highly suggest that you stop by sometime. The cinema is hidden inside a rather nice restaurant and the seats are large and very comfortable (see the pics). The film programme is usually very high grade and mainstream films are blissfully absent. It is just a great place to watch a good movie - buy a few nibbles at the bar, grab a glass of nice wine, take a seat and enjoy the film. If you are hungry after the film you only need to step out of the cinema and have some good food in the popular restaurant - or just have a drink for that matter but not too many as you need to go down a spiral staircase to reach the loos. Highly recommended; this must be the nicest cinema in Frankfurt.

Although it's definitely not the best movie theatre in Frankfurt, it does the trick for being soo close to the downtown area. If you don't understand German though, beware that all the movies are translated and there's noway for you to understand the film. I know it feels kinda awkward to see the Hangover in German, but surprisingly it was still hilariously funny!

Pluspunkte…read moreim Vergleich zu den genannten Alternativen in den E-Kinos: - Hygiene: keine klebrigen Böden; auf die Sitze kann man sich auch setzen ohne einen Kaugummi am Mantel zu haben, die Toiletten sind okay und scheinen sauber, aber investitionsbedürftig, um auf den neuesten Stand der Technik zu kommen. - Freundlichkeit: Das Personal ist freundlich und der Service persönlich, weiter so! - Angebot: Es gibt noch richtige Coca Cola und kein Pepsi, für mich ein klarer Pluspunkt. - Die Preise für die Karten sind geringfügig günstiger - Der Kinosaal ist kleiner, aber insgesamt hat es was Uriges und man braucht keine Brille, wenn man ganz hinten sitzt.
