I really used to like this store until they ruined the old JC Penny Building downtown Astoria. Go figure a vintage store ruins an old vintage building with taking down an iconic sign and painting the building gray. On top of that just plain rude customer service and this is coming from someone who has actually spent thousands of dollars in your store. read more

I am writing an update about this place as my joy with a used Howard Miller clock that I purchased from here was short lived. I paid $140 for something that only lasted three months. The owner/associate assured me at the POS that the previous owner of the clock was to be trusted and that this clock was a keeper. What a waste of $$! Pure expensive junk! read more

If you're into vintage hardware, this is the crown jewel! You'll find all types of pieces. There is literally a whole wall full of vintage doors. It's kind of pricey, but not super crazy. There's not a lot of smalls here if you're antiquing, but that's not their specialty. Be sure to check out the huge WORKING Operation game! Truly vintage hardware, artfully arranged. Many old doors and repurposed items. It would have been nice to see antique pulls and knobs instead of retro. Wish it had a wider variety of farm fresh finds. Everything was polished and priced accordingly. The reason I'm giving this three stars is mainly due to the unfriendliness of the worker (owner?). She acted put out when we asked a question and it was hard to get her attention. I don't believe we ever saw her smile. read more

Really cool store. Lots of antiques I'd kill to have if I could afford anything in there. The owners / employees are extremely unwelcoming. I went upstairs to check out the paint selection and found someone who worked there and decided to ask if they had any space for rent (I restore and up-cycle antiques) and Was quickly cut off with a snarky answer about how they don't and will NOT have any spaces available... ever. Even though the entire upstairs was obviously rented spaces. Stuck up vintage snobs! Totally took the fun out of the whole place. I did however buy a sweater from one of the vintage clothing sections upstairs... ( so they wouldn't think I was stealing anything based on the way they were watching me) 1/10 bad experience. read more

This is our favorite place in Astoria. We visited when it was in the bottom of an art deco hotel, and when we went this time, it was near the river. Now it is apparently moving again, sometime in early October of 2016. Why we love it--it's every Portland hipster's dream of awesome house parts (quirky cast iron hooks and knobs), reproduction locker baskets, and a carefully curated selection of extremely hip antiques. My husband bought reclaimed metal numbers to make a sign for his workshop. I bought two seriously cool vintage printer's stamps--one a 1950's stamp about "Fantastic Weekend Deals," and another a showing a checklist for the maid. But, honestly, we could have bought almost anything and left happy. read more

I love love love this store. Everytime I visit Astoria, I stop in. My first visit was when they were located in a historic, grand hotel. It was amazing to see the architecture and history of that run down hotel and the fact that Vintage Hardware themselves are all about salvaging amazing architectural finds, it was perfect. They have moved a couple times since that 1st visit, but I love seeing what they've salvaged, from old locker room lockers to theater seats to pink toilets. You never know what treasure you will find. Perfect for anyone who loves a project or eclectic and/or vintage decor. read more

Vintage hardware provided a great selection of wooden chairs and coffee tables that we rented to create auxiliary seating areas for our outdoor wedding. They were accommodating and provided us with a great value. We were able to get the exact aesthetic that we had been hoping for. We encourage anyone in our situation to consider vintage hardware as an option. This place is awesome! Lots of cool stuff... a lot of different little rooms and sections to explore. And a lot of reusable items, like windows, doors, sinks, pull knobs, hardware (as the name suggests). Also, a lot of nicely priced postcards. When you enter the store there are vignettes of beautiful antique earns tables beds lighting and doors. It's rustic, Antique/, vintage, and re-purposed! There are doors that have been turned into custom headboards, total eye candy! There are tables with butcher blocks Antique/ flooring and Antique/ legs, some are on old carts. There are antique lamps, lampshades, repurposed items turned into lamps like mattress coils! There are paintings, and pictures, and antique frames. Fabric, brass hardware from homes, doors, windows, louvers, screens. There are floor mats and carpets playground equipment bathroom fixtures antique bottles antique dishes, silverware. And they have a wedding rental service for all the creations that one of the owners has made out of doors, Home archways, etc. You will get as excited as I am when you enter the store. I've always enjoyed shopping here when visiting the coast. And my experience yesterday only confirmed how awesome the store and management are. We found a perfect corner sink for a new half bath we are working on, yet there was no visible price tag. We asked the owner, who named a price we thought was a steal. We paid it, loaded it up, and found the price tag as we were loading. The listed price was much higher than what we'd paid. I went back in and offered to pay the difference, and instead the woman said she knew she was selling it for a good price but just to come back and shop again. Don't worry, we will! read more
