ATT fiber came into the neighborhood and tore up a good 6-8 feet of my yard in late spring/ early summer. All workers said ATT would be back to fix my lawn. No one has called or done any work. ATT lied about 5G coverage in Sturgeon,MO area. Have not had good reception since I got the phone in 2023. Called to cancel after repeated attempts in requesting better service. Called customer service on May 9th to cancel services and was told and confirmed that the amount to close the account was $750 dollars because there was still payment on the phones for the 2 lines this was after the person deducted $50 because of the repeated issues that I was having with ATT in this area that they say they cover. Called customer service today and spoke with the supervisor Shay now... the amount to close out the AT&T service is now $1,000.00. Ugh no, you need to get reported on your fraudulent 5G map coverage that is not true and pricing discrepancies in closing accounts. read more

I've had AT&T Internet for about two months now and I've had nothing but good experiences. Anywhere I wanted to install the modem the tech no issues. Of course I did not say hey, set in the middle of the room! It came in from a side closet from outside and mounted up in the walk-in closet in the air. What more could you ask for? The speeds are faster than advertised and they consistently work. I live in blue Springs, Missouri and Troy was my tech. He was curious to know why I moved here from California got to know me a little bit and we had a good conversation. I got to know him a little bit about his family he was very open and have a great customer service skills. Nothing but positive things to say about Troy and I hope he's my tech in the future to take care of us and thats if we have any issues. Which I hope we don't... Ha ha ha And I'm actually writing this review now because the AT&T Internet plastic covering that in the grass was shattered and it's been that way for quite some time. We live in a new development so I thought I'd wait until things are finished so I can ask for someone to come replace it. One of our neighbors was getting some work done so I want talk to the guy. His name is George. Helpful man... He came over write up a ticket and he informed me as I was leaving I put in a ticket and he doesn't know the turnaround time but when I get done, it'll be sooner than later I thought great! So far nothing but positive experiences with this company! With their Internet Not their wireless service because that is a whole nother problem. Ha ha ha stay away from AT&T wireless! The Fiber internet from AT&T in the 58 and Ward area is unreliable. There are issues with the main Fiber runs and the network switches. as soon as the internet gets busy the packets get lost and the resends are overwhelming the routers. AT&T runs a speed test and says your line is fine. Getting thru to a human for technical support is almost impossible. After the fiber cut on 58 near Prairie LN last summer it has been nothing but problems. If you do get thru they try to up sell you from 1000 service to 5000 service. More speed won't fix degraded infrastructure. read more

My internet is always down. I tried using the troubleshooting feature on the app and it didn't find the issue, so it directed me to make an appointment for someone to come out and check it. I picked a date and time and then receive a message saying it's going to be $99 for someone to come look at it...when I'm already paying $60 a month for internet that doesn't work. When I spoke to them on the phone they just kept trying to sell me stuff instead of resolve the issue. Terrible service, terrible internet. read more

If you ever think about getting AT&T Uverse, or any AT&T product for that fact, please refrain. This is the second house and the second major issue we have had with our service. We have had internet that works for one hour and then goes down for two hours. On and off for weeks at a time. We had a DVR that couldn't share recorded programs because it would also only work intermittently. We have called and been through troubleshooting more then you can ever imagine. We were forced to switch to another company. We knew there would be an early termination fee and knew it would be worth paying to get a service that would work consistently. Two weeks after cancelling service we received a notification that our balance had changed. I opened up the MyATT application on my phone and saw that our account had been cancelled (we knew that) but also that our final balance was an 84 cent credit and that we would be receiving a refund check to the billing address within 6 weeks. It was too good to be true. I chatted with an account representative that confirmed what I was seeing was true and that it stated that it was our final balance and to expect our refund within 6 weeks. We waited another week and received another notification that our bill had been updated again. You guessed it. Our "final balance" was not a final balance at all and now we received a bill for the early termination fee. This isn't so much about the early termination fee as it is the principal on telling someone something, it being confirmed by a company employee, and then reversed because they "words are just words and they mean nothing." If words are just words and mean nothing (as I was told by a retention supervisor) then aren't the words on the contract that we signed "just words" and mean nothing. I wanted an explanation on why my account told me I had a credit as my final balance and now that wasn't my final balance. The supervisor was very rude and not helpful in resolving this concern. I was very disappointed in the retention department for not taking the issue seriously or addressing the issue of what it stated or what another representative confirmed. I have called back multiple times in order to resolve this concern (some of which the agents agreed with my complaint) and it all boiled down the fact that the credit now needs to go through that supervisor and the supervisor doesn't believe or agree with me. If you need to get a hold of AT&T Retention to get a better rate or to switch carriers (my recommendation) then the number is (877)377-0414. I have worked customer service and retail for a long time and I would never get away with providing such lack-luster customer service. read more

ATT is a good example of a monopoly: a huge company that can get away with screwing the customer. Many of us have little choice, but for those who do, I must concur with others who have been incorrectly charged, or lost deposits without recourse. Avoid dealing with them, if possible. I also agree that it is difficult to speak to a real person; you kind of have to trick the software into sending you to a human, and then, well, you know how it goes... I just left ATT wireless (still tied to them for land line), and lost almost $60. I ported my number 3 days before my account was charged for the next billing period. The billing cycle actually ended days earlier, but the actual cycle dates are nearly impossible to find, and "ATT doesn't pro-rate". Sixty dollars may not seem like a big deal to them, but it is to me. All that to say, if you decide to fire them, watch your back, because they'll pick your pockets on the way out. read more

New slogan for ATT: "Damaging your world" Maybe ATT's new slogan should be "Damaging your World", instead of "mobilizing your world". Not long ago ATT dug up my yard to put in new "GIGA" lines. They hired a disreputable local Kansas City company called "Lantel" www.lantelkc.com to do the digging. During the digging, Lantel smashed a major water pipe in my yard. The careless digging caused Thousands of dollars in damage. So I called ATT...right? After 20+ attempts to get an ATT decision maker, I realized they don't want to talk to customers. All I was asking for was for ATT to do was to help repair the damage their subcontractor caused my property. ATT suggested that I call their claims company Sedgwick After a long attempt to get someone at Sedgwick, I was told call Lantel directly. When I called Sedgewick, I was told I needed to talk to their Lantel, VP Scott. Scott not return any of the 10+ calls I made to him. After months of no luck with Scott and Lantel, I went back to ATT. Now I know why. Like roaches in the night.....they run when a light is on them. I spoke to 4 different people at Sedgwick, (One of them was Steven - VP 1-860-593-3952) and after months...nobody brought results. Sedgwick ultimately said that they are not "authorized" to make a decision. Just today, Sedgwick told me that ATT was not liable as they didn't do the work. Lantel did. I have been with at&t for decades. Was happy for a long time with them. Then for the past 5 years or so they have hiked my bill up and slowing I have dropped my phone, got rid of uverse tv and now down to internet only. Which they just hiked my bill up almost $20 dollars a month. In the decades I have always paid my bill early. I spoke to a rep and he stated he had no promotions but advised me to call Customer Loyalty department. He was very nice and thanked me for my business and told my the department would be able to help me, his name was Ricky. I called customer Loyalty and got Katrina, first let me say she should not be anywhere near customer loyalty as not once did she thank me of decades of business with them yet after cutting me off several times advised me she had no promotions or discounts for my bill but staed to look into an assistance called CAP. Needless to say I am now looking around to drop the internet with them as well. My advise try Google fiber or xfinity as from what I have found in my search they are cheaper for the same service and all reps have been a thousand times more friendlier than Katrina. read more

They messed up our 1G internet order and had to redo the order. Charged $100 deposit for our daughter's service in Lawrence, KS on the fist order. Went to the Lawrence, KS store where they corrected the service - last tenant had not canceled service. They needed to change another $100 deposit and said the initial $100 would be credited back to the credit card - 21 days ago and no credit. If I did this I would be charged with a crime - embezzlement. Have internet service at 3 homes and 10 AT&T devices on AT&T wireless paying over $1,000 per month - if this is the service I get - can only imagine the service someone gets paying $100 per month. read more

ATT.NET is "Currently" exceptionally UNSTABLE! Apparently an intermittent issue for about 3 years, do not depend on being able to keep/access your email at any given time because your password may not even be recognized and ### tries will count against you. Use the Search: "Empty folders in att" or anything similar. UNBELIEVABLE that they have allowed this issue to exist for over THREE YEARS!!!! With so many ONE-star ratings, how are they still in business? I have their internet, provided to me when I signed up for phone service in my apt. Costing me nothing for the internet (att.net) with paid phone service, I took my email sign-on with me when I moved 3 years later. Everything continued running smoothly..... until it wasn't. That was about 6 years ago. Since then, Yahoo took over the "internet provider" service which I have used since then. Sometime around early early 2022, we were told that Yahoo would no longer allow us into our email, but that we should transition to a "Currently.att.com" provider ID which I did. However, I continued to use Yahoo for my att.net access as long as I could. That date would be last week, July 1, 2022 when I logged into my account through Yahoo and....SURPRISE! EMPTY FOLDERS! All saves/ drafts/ sent/ labeled folders with YEARS of saves ALL EMPTY. ......... PANIC!!! I don't remember how I got them back again but it had something to do with shutting my computer down and doing a restart which took all night. Next morning, I logged on using Currently.com/ Currently.att.com/ and-or Currently.att.yahoo.com in any order I could imagine, and the passwords I'd set up specially for each: att.net, yahoo.att.net, and CURRENTLY.ATT.BS! Today I was simply responding to a critical email and the next thing I knew, empty folders AGAIN and was locked out of my email. The only other time that I did get in, had only empty folders. I tried right then to respond to an important email, just like today, when I hit send I got logged out completely. If I ever get logged in again and my emails show up in my folders, I'm putting everything I want to keep into a free internet service that I use as a backup and waving "buh-bye" to what used to be a monopoly and the Gold standard in the long distance industry. Well once again the cable/home phone and internet are all out. Called their joke of a customer service department the evening of 7/26 and was told they couldn't get a tech out until after 8/1. Ridiculous amount of time spent and nothing fixed. Cable and internet go out a lot! We went with ATT for some sort of "deal" several years ago when they were out knocking on doors. Terrible mistake. I'm really busy and my bill is drafted from my account each month, so I haven't been paying attention to what I have been paying (another mistake, I admit it.) I was SHOCKED when I looked last night to see that I have been paying just under $300 a month for basic internet, a land line phone and cable with the digital tier and 2 movie channels. AT&T told us 10 days ago we would have a technician at our house today between 8am and 8 pm. Nice 12 hour window after we wait for 10 days. I took the day off from work to be here. Worst experience I have ever had with trying to set up internet in my home. The call center that customers are directed to is horrible and unhelpful. I have not received my internet/wifi equipment and it has been over 2 weeks. They keep mailing my equipment to the wrong address, though I have called 3 times to tell me the correct address and spelling. The website never works and does not show correct information. Wow, was there really a NO star option. I cancelled U-verse as of July due to the yearly increase and cut the cord, finally. I was charged on September 2, 2019, for 5 cable and/or modem boxes, a total of $785.25 to my credit card that had been linked to the account prior to closing. I returned the boxes on September 9th, 7 days later. It is now November 5th, and no money or credits have been received. I filed a BBB complaint last month, and they have the office of their President trying to figure out how to help (whoever that may be), and nobody seems to know how to do a simple refund for MERCHANDISE RETURNED. I called AT&T on Thursday to increase the amount of data on my (horrendously overpriced) cell phone bill. For some reason, their web site wanted to charge us $50 more for a plan advertised at $5 less. So we called customer service, and made the change. Once that was taken care of, the sales rep, Kam, asked if we would like to switch to U-Verse TV and Internet. I said "No, I'm pretty happy with my current provider and there's no way you can get me the speeds that I want." Kam said, "We've just upgraded the internet to all fiber in the area. We can give you up to 250 megabit internet." "That sounds expensive," I said. "No, we can get you that and 220 TV stations in four rooms with DVR for just a hundred dollars a month." Well, hell, that's better than what I get from my current cable company for just a few dollars more. So, sure, sign me up. We scheduled a Saturday morning installation. It still seemed too good to be true, so we got Kam's direct line, his supervisor's name, Marc, and a cell phone number for the supervisor "in case we ran into any problems." Now, part of why I was reticent to switch is that I live in Lawrence, and our cable provider is about to get taken over by a company that offers better speeds at lower prices. I figured that had AT&T spooked and they were offering a great deal. The technician, Cameron, showed up right on time. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about Cameron. He was just about to start setting up our TV when he asks what speed we're supposed to get. "250mbps," I told him. He got a deer in the headlights look. "I can maybe do 50, but with copper wire between you and the crossbox there's no way I can get it up to 250." So he tried to call our sales reps to see what the hell they were talking about. Kam apparently gave us a fake phone number, and Marc wasn't answering the cell phone. Eventually he got us on with another sales representative, whose name we didn't catch. I realized it was technically impossible to get us the deal we were promised, but I was willing to listen to what this sales rep was ready to offer to placate an increasingly agitated customer. What she was ready to offer: More agitation. "I'm sorry if you misunderstood," she said -- classic deflection directly from the terrible customer service manual. There was no misunderstanding, we were lied to. "There is no 250mbps plan," she went on. "What we can get you is 50mpbs plus the television for $100 a month." So, her customer service retention offer was we pay what we agreed to, and they deliver nothing resembling what they agreed to. I made that point, and she tried to argue that AT&T's bait and switch was better than our current service. With a significant discount and no contract, I might have considered going ahead with the install, since Cameron, the excellent install technician, was already in our kitchen looking awkward, but instead of making an attempt to make it right, the sales representative went on the offensive. At that point we had enough and told her to fuck off, then apologized to the fantastic Cameron for our rudeness to one of his coworkers. He shrugged and said he was used to it. Apparently AT&T's sales model is to make outlandish promises and rely on Midwestern politeness to prevent those sales from falling apart when the installer shows up. read more

We signed up for this service because our apt gave us no option the customer service rep was not very helpful and on the day we moved in we had to self Install it took 3 hours on the phones to be connected and walked they the process I have NEVER had such a bad experience it was a damm nightmare . This was a bundled service with TV which took another hour if password verification which there system refused to recognize even though the rep set it up after another hour of futility we were told there was an HDML outage in our are and it would take 48 hours to fix it that was two days ago and we don't any service ! Called trying to reschedule my installation date and so far it's taken 4 phone calls, being on hold for over and hr, being transferred 5 times and still no one can seem to figure out how to reschedule the install. Just moved to Prairie Village, and these assholes straight up should be put on a fraud list. The initially promised me a package that was $40 a month for 50 Mbs internet speed. The tech showed up, complained a lot, did very little work, and left saying that it would be too much work to run the new cable so he wasn't going to bother. The end result, my data speed is 25 Mbs. Oh, and since the speed is slower, that means I'm on a different payment plan now. So now I'm stuck paying $70 a month. So this place is literally twice the promised price for half the promised service. read more

What is WRONG with the phone reps and the diabolical sales trainers? There is something warped about this big corporation's business ethics. I've been in sales for years and me smells a RAT every time we have to deal with this company. After 9 years with AT&T cell service, and the run around with lowering my bill, I finally was able to snag a 'Supervisor' on the phone which really just means, "Better trained in snake-oil sales". Being in sales myself... I didn't by their bottle of "Empty". That was over 5 years ago. Fast forward to 3 months ago. My husband who is in charge of our home TV and Internet service calls to lower the bill which had popped up to $200.00. (Promo was over). He gets it lowered to $103 however; when the bill comes it's $187.00. He calls AT&T again and the rep gets it lowered to $103 again and THIS month when the bill arrives, it's $200! WTH! We call back and the first rep says he's reading the notes from the previous two months and indeed, there is a problem but he doesn't know what to do. Five minutes later, we get the phone call back from what we were told would be a Supervisor. She goes on with a lame sales pitch (remember, I'm in sales) attempting to get my husband to accept the $200 bill because of all the awesome channels we don't want or need. He's got her on speaker phone and frankly, I'd had it after 7 minutes of her 'pitch'. I told her that her training clearly sounds like a 'Bait and Switch" and this is not what we are asking and we've made it clear what we need and expected the last two months. I ask her to scroll back in the notes since the last rep told us he could read them, I expected her to see what he did. She pauses and tells us, "There are no notes." I tell her either he was lying or she is lying. Whose the liar? ...and "Are you a supervisor because that's what we requested"... she finally answers, "No." Who knows if she's telling the truth? As if reading from a script, she continues with her plan to get us to accept the $200 monthly payment. Wow. I asked her if she's really content with her job, accepting a pay check to bait and switch customers. No answer. We are now with Comcast. Our bill is what we had asked AT&T for, double the internet speed, HBO and Showtime ~ more than we asked for. No internet. No TV. Stated problem was outside. F 6.20 9:00 am - outdoor tech arrived - professed to have fixed problems 5:30 pm - indoor tech arrived. Worked until 9:10 pm. No internet. No TV Sat 6.21 8:30 am - outdoor tech arrived - professed to have fixed problems. New underground cable/line. (unacceptable!) Wed. 7/16 Phone line had not been cancelled. Just spent an hour on the phone with them being transferred here and there ... phone is cancelled. Balance is 0. (per Mindy/Rhonda ... canc #D420791) Then transferred to UVerse ... no request was ever submitted for burying the cable. It will be another 7 days at least before cable is buried. (BTW ... rep told me if I want to call back and confirm tomorrow, they would welcome that. I suggested they do their job and follow-up on my behalf. She was hateful.) Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Tues. 7/22 Cable has still not been buried. It is strung across our patio and along our neighbor's fence. Honestly ... it looks like the Beverly Hillbillies. Additional notes: * We were promised all of our tv's would be HDTV. Now, we find that only 3 at a time will work.
