I purchased a cell phone from them on Mar 8, 2024 and when I called in to upgrade my services I found out they are selling the customer's internet and phone services to an Indian company in Long Island, NY. Not only that, I personally went into the store on Nelson Rd at 3723 and purchased a new phone thinking I was adding a cell phone to my existing account and today, March 9, 2024 I found that my internet and phone line was additionally sold to the Indian company and there was no way I could speak with the local office in Lake Charles, LA because their lines are routed out to the Indian Co. in New York, this is not to be prejudice. Optimum local number in Lake Charles is non-existent on their website. Beware!!! Now I will be reporting them to the (FTC) Federal Trade Commission for deceptive trade practices, the (AG) Attorney General for fraud and the (IG) for deceptive trade practices and fraud as a back up. Let me not forget the (BBB) Better Business Bureau. Scammed Customer and Mad as Hell !!!!!!!

Although I know the central office for AT&T only hire ivy league scholars, it always seems to amaze me how hard it is for the poor technicians in the field like Courtney to get anything done efficiently when performing even small tasks requiring communication and/or teamwork with the CO. That being said, Courtney's world class attitude and persistence made the entire process very personal and tentative. I stopped at this location to purchase a replacement device. The sales associate, Dejana, assisted me with buying a new phone, which I believed was a straightforward transaction. However, in April, I visited another AT&T store and discovered that an additional line/account had been opened under my name during that December visit--without my knowledge or consent. Since then, I had unknowingly been paying for this unauthorized line for months. I filed a fraud complaint with AT&T, but was told that the account was "authorized," which is extremely concerning given that I never approved any additional services beyond replacing my stolen phone. Based on my experience, I question the practices at this location, as it appears there may be incentives to open additional accounts for commission purposes without full customer awareness or consent. Yesterday I went to the above listed store to purchase an iPhone 15. I ask the lady if she could transfer all my contacts, pictures and messages from my SE iPhone to the new iPhone 15. She assured me she could do this, as I explained to her that my phone had years of business contacts, pictures and messages very important for my business and I could not afford to be without his information. I also purchased an added phone number to our account which would be used for my SE iPhone and my business phone number which was used for all my contacts, etc. would be transferred to the new iPhone 15. After some time passed, she went in the back of the store with both my old phone and the new phone. After she returned, I told her I need to go sit in my vehicle because of the neuropathy condition with my feet and legs. She was very nice and said she would bring the phones to me after she was done. After approximately 1 hour I went inside the store. She wasn't there but some other workers where there. I spoke up and told them the is taking too long and I needed to go! I went back outside to sit in my vehicle again. After some time past, a man came out and handed my the phone. I looked at the new phone, which was missing apps that was to be transferred from my old phone to the new phone. He said that my phone had so much on it and it would take longer to finish down loading the remainder. I gave him the phones and he went back inside to finish, I thought. After some time past, a large lady came out with my phones and told me, she needed a password to finish the process. I didn't know any password for AT&T, I only had a password for Apple. She said she could do any more for me. She handed my phones back to me and I left, VERY PISSED OFF. I had spent about 2 hours at the store and these people had really screwed my over as I found when I got home! I called AT&T and spoke with three different customer service persons. They tried to text my wife codes to get into the account/fix the problem, but wife's phone was not receiving any text messages! They tried to text our home cell phone and the same problem; home phone not working either! After spending over an hour talking to AT&T, the last guy told me I needed to go back to the store the next day. They would have to fix the problem. After ending this conversation. I noted that the store had changed my old phone's number to the new number which I could use, however all my business customers, relatives, friends, etc. could not contact me because they didn't have the new phone number! I was the only one who had the new phone number! My wife's phone had quit working. Our home phone had quit working. The new phone I had just purchased, also didn't work!!! In other words, we could not receive calls, send calls or text on these 3 phones! My old phone was the only phone that worked, but it had a new number appointed to it that no one knew but me! I used my old phone and called my wife's phone and it didn't ring but THE NEW PHONE DID RING! THESE DUMB PEOPLE AT THE STORE HAD PROGRAMED MY WIFE'S PHONE NUMBER IN THE NEW iPhone 15, THAT I JUST BOUGHT!!! I spend hours calling/texting people to give them the new phone number, they had to call to reach me or my wife! Next day, my wife and I brought all 4 cell phones to another AT&T store located: 551 N CITIES SERVICE HWY, SULPHUR, LA. After 30/45 minutes, a young lady at this store fixed all the problems and not once did she need any password. All 4 cell phones work now as they should! From our experience with AT&T stores it would be smart to drive to this Sulphur store and deal with COURTNEY VARTULI. She was very nice and also knows what she is doing!

Deceptive Sales Tactics, Unauthorized Account Changes, & Poor Customer Service…read more I recently visited this AT&T store to purchase a new phone for my son and had a frustrating and deceptive experience. The sales associate informed me it was store policy that I could not purchase the phone outright and had to use an installment plan, with the option to pay it off after 90 days. I later confirmed directly with AT&T that this is not company policy. While still in the store, I checked my AT&T app and discovered that my account had been upgraded without my consent to the highest-priced service plan, along with additional charges for features I never authorized. I immediately asked the sales associate to correct this, but she flat-out refused to assist me. After leaving the store, I contacted AT&T online support and was able to fix the unauthorized changes within an hour -- but this situation should never have happened. I also requested the store manager's contact information while there, and that request was denied and only his name was given. I've since learned that some store representatives earn bonuses by enrolling customers in higher-priced plans and unnecessary add-ons -- which appears to have been the motive behind this incident. If you read other reviews on multiple sites, this appears to be a pattern. I strongly urge anyone visiting this location to be cautious. Review your account details in real-time through the AT&T app, ask direct questions, and confirm anything you're told with AT&T's official customer service.
